freebeacon.com } ~ President Donald Trump on Monday categorically denied reports that Iran had captured 17 supposed CIA agents... whom the Islamic Republic accused of spying on the country. Iranian leaders claimed they had captured the CIA agents last year and had been holding them in detention. Iran says that it is poised to execute the alleged spies, who also were accused of exhibiting techniques meant to resist interrogation. Trump quickly dismissed the reports, telling reporters this is yet another attempt by Iran to disseminate propaganda aimed at distracting from the country's ongoing support of regional terror operations. The claim comes as the U.S. and Iran exchange salvos in a proxy battle in the Persian Gulf that threatens to ignite a full-blown war between the two countries. "They lie a lot," Trump said at the White House. The president pointed to the recent downing of an Iranian drone by U.S. forces, which Iran denied had even taken place. "We took down one of their drones. They say that doesn't happen. There's a lot of proof," Trump said. "It's called take a look at it on the ocean floor. Take your scuba gear and go down."  Addressing the reports of imprisoned CIA agents, Trump said, "that's a totally false story." "That's another lie. They put out propaganda. They put out lies," Trump said. "Let's see what happens with Iran. We are ready for the absolute worst and we are ready for sense, too. … They are really the number one state of terror in the world. I have to say they pulled back because their money is running really low." The CIA declined to comment on the reports when asked Monday by the Washington Free Beacon. The reports have been denied by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo...  https://freebeacon.com/national-security/trump-iran-did-not-capture-american-cia-agents/?utm_source=Freedom+Mail&utm_campaign=7dc25ac9ef-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_07_22_08_30_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b5e6e0e9ea-7dc25ac9ef-45611665

foxnews.com } ~ The Trump administration and congressional leaders, including Democrats, have reached a critical debt and budget agreement that all but eliminates the risk of another government shut down this fall... but that has already drawn fierce blowback from fiscal conservatives worried about overspending, as well as progressives unhappy with where the money could go. The deal announced Monday evening, which requires congressional approval, would increase spending caps by $320 billion relative to the limits prescribed in the 2011 Budget Control Act, whose spending-control provisions have been repeatedly waived since 2014. It also would suspend the debt ceiling and permit more government borrowing until July 31, 2021 -- after the next presidential election. The compromise reportedly outraged Democrat Sen. Patrick J. Leahy, the ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, who noted the bill would not block Trump from spending money on his proposed border wall. "I'm worried the House is willing to give him far too much discretion to take money and move it anywhere he wants including a wall," Leahy, D-Vt., told The Washington Post. "So the way it is now I will not vote for it. . . . The other 99 can vote for it, I won’t." However, in a statement, Leahy later said he would "support the bill" because it "will raise the debt limit for the next two years and stave off economic catastrophe" and reverse "unsustainable cuts in non-defense discretionary spending." Leahy added, "I understand there is a statement of principles between congressional leaders and the White House, and I have many concerns with its content." In the end, domestic programs would on average receive 4-percent increases in the first year of the pact, with much of those gains eaten up by veterans increases and an unavoidable surge for the U.S. Census. Defense would jump to $738 billion next year, a 3-percent hike...

foxnews.com } ~ A Justice Department official told former Special Counsel Robert Mueller that his upcoming testimony to House lawmakers "must remain within the boundaries" of the public, redacted version of his report... in a letter obtained by Fox News on Monday evening. The letter, obtained exclusively by Fox News, signed by Associate Deputy Attorney General Bradley Weinsheimer, states: “Dear Mr. Mueller: I write in response to your July 10, 2019 letter concerning the testimonial subpoenas you received from the House Judiciary Committee (HJC) and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI). “Your letter requests that the Department provide you with guidance concerning privilege or other legal bars applicable to potential testimony in connection with those subpoenas." After stating the decision to testify is Mueller's to make, the letter continues: "But the Department agrees with your stated position that your testimony should be unnecessary under the circumstances. The Department generally does not permit prosecutors such as you to appear and testify before Congress regarding their investigative and prosecutorial activity. "In addition, the Department already has taken the extraordinary steps to make almost your entire report, as well as a substantial volume of your underlying investigative material, available to the committees. "Should you testify, the Department understands that testimony regarding the work of the Special Counsel's Office will be governed by the terms you outlined on May 29 -- specifically, that the information you discuss during your testimony appears in, and does "not go beyond," the public version of your March 22, 2019 report to the Attorney General or your May 29 public statement." It continued: "Finally, any testimony must remain within the boundaries of your public report because matters within the scope of your investigation were covered by the executive privilege, including information protected by law enforcement, deliberative process, attorney work product, and presidential communications privileges...

Green Activists With Ties to China Advised scumbag/liar-nObama State Department

freebeacon.com } ~ The Natural Resources Defense Council held close ties to the scumbag/liar-nObama administration, providing advice on joining the Paris Agreement while simultaneously maintaining ties to China... according to attorneys and policy analysts who have reviewed email records obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request. While many of the emails are heavily redacted, they provide insight into how the NRDC, a nonprofit environmental advocacy group, and its close associates in Beijing, sought to maneuver the United States into an international climate change accord that has all the "hallmarks of a treaty" without the "advice and consent" of the Senate, Bonner Cohen, a senior fellow with the National Center for Public Policy Research, explained in an interview. The United Nations' Paris Agreement, which took shape in December 2015, figures prominently in emails between Jake Schmidt, the NRDC’s director of international programs, and several State Department officials including Todd Stern, who was a special envoy for climate change at the time of his correspondence with Schmidt in 2014 and 2015. Cohen calls the agreement "an instrument to redistribute wealth, through higher energy prices, from middle- and lower-income people to well-heeled renewable-energy providers and investors in developed countries, while spreading some largesse to elites in poorer countries via the U.N.'s Green Climate Fund." President scumbag/liar-nObama took executive action to have the United States become part of the international agreement in September 2016, which requires participating countries to establish their own "nationally determined contributions" toward what the U.N. describes as a "global response to the threat of climate change." The nationally determined contributions (NDCs) detail how much each country plans to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. In June 2017, President Trump announced during a White House ceremony that the United States would withdraw from the Paris Agreement. The president said the treaty was unfair to American workers and taxpayers... People who believed on this green deal have been fooled and mislead and scumbag/liar-nObama knew it.

America: Love It or Leave It (Again)

Cal Thomas

The phrase “America, Love It or Leave It” has a pedigree dating back at least to the McCarthy Era. In the ‘70s, the phrase was employed again against those protesting America’s involvement in the Vietnam War. The left has its own version, vowing to leave the country if a Republican is elected president. They rarely do.

On Monday, President Trump resurrected the phrase as he again publicly slammed four freshman congresswomen for their criticism of the United States and his policies. He suggested they “go back where you came from,” though they are all American citizens.

Whatever one thinks of the president’s remarks — the predictable “racist” charge was leveled at him because the four are women of color and two are Muslim — the president is setting Democrats up for what could be a major defeat in the 2020 election by forcing them to embrace (probably) these people and their statements, thus causing further fallout within the party, or denounce them (unlikely) and risk electoral harm. It’s a lose-lose for Democrats.

AXIOS, a nonpartisan news and information company, shared the results of a small, exclusive poll taken in May of a “crucial group of swing voters.” Respondents, “1,003 likely general-election voters who are white and have two years or less of college education” put their approval of commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, worthless-Ilhan Omar, worthless-Rashida Tlaib and worthless-Ayanna Pressley in low double or single digits.

Only last week did Speaker liar-Nancy Pulosi, discussing the congresswomen’s opposition to the emergency border aid bill — a bill the leadership supported — seem to dismiss them in an interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, “They’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.” After the president’s comments Monday, liar-Pulosi felt obligated to defend the four congresswomen, but that may come at a cost.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) took things a step too far when he called the four “anti-America” communists on “Fox and Friends,” another throwback to the McCarthy Era, which Graham has previously denounced.

Still, this is likely to play well with people who believe too many politicians spend most of their time criticizing America instead of defending it.

The four congresswomen have been critical of the nation they were elected to serve and some have even made anti-Semitic and anti-Israel statements.

The left swims in a deep sea of hypocrisy when it uses buzzwords like “diversity” and “racism.” A recent example was in Monday’s Washington Times. The newspaper reported that congressional Democrats are opposing four “people of color” nominated to federal courts by President Trump. If a Democratic president had nominated these people and Republicans opposed them, is there any doubt the “racist” slur would be hurled at them?

Still, Sen. Graham was right when he also said it would be helpful if the president would “aim higher” and speak of their policies, rather than engaging in personal attacks. But their hatred for Israel and anti-America statements ARE their policies. Graham is correct in this sense: President Trump has the issues on his side. He is winning on things most people care about, especially the economy. Yes, he frequently touts successes, but they are often overshadowed by his personal attacks.

Winning an argument is better than winning a fight. Winning the argument proves your policies are correct. Winning a fight proves nothing, except who is able to beat up another person. It does not advance an agenda.

There is no excuse for calling detention centers “concentration camps” and likening the Border Patrol to Nazi prison guards, especially since the four freshmen and other Democrats have the power to fix the migrant crisis, but won’t because it appears they prefer having the issue to batter Republicans.

If this keeps up, House Democrats who defend such outrageous statements are likely to find themselves in the minority again. Many Americans are fed-up with hearing this stuff and are likely to take revenge at the polls.  ~The Patriot Post
