HILLY’S HAWKS DUMP ON nOBAMA’S ISIS FIGHT
We have been reading a lot lately about the biggest blemish on Hilly Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state: the woebegone Libyan rebellion. Clinton was the principle advocate for U.S. military intervention to help Islamist rebels depose strongman Muammar Qaddafi. The results have been dire, but President nObama made clear from the beginning that he was an unwilling combatant – hence “leading from behind” – and has probably been relieved to see so much of the blame circle back to the hawkish Clinton and her coterie. But now it is Team Clinton’s turn.
The Center for a New American Security looks like the foreign policy shop for Clinton’s potential return to the White House. Clinton helped launch it in 2007 and its leadership includes the woman widely expected to be secretary of defense in a Clinton restoration, Michele Flournoy. So it’s not just the ordinary wonk talk when the Clintonite group puts out a damning indictment of nObama’s policy in Iraq and Syria. Clinton herself previously blamed nObama’s inaction in Syria for worsening the crisis, but did so in an oblique way. Now, her foreign policy familiars are making things more explicit saying that the plan is “failing” and “misguided” but potentially “counterproductive.”
While the White House is pushing hard to emphasize the Iraqification of the war effort against ISIS and trying to prop up the Baghdad government and strengthen its military forces, the Clinton-affiliated group is calling for more U.S. boots on the ground and bypassing Baghdad with aid to directly help Sunni provincial groups. In a CNN interview this week, Flournoy, who withdrew from consideration as nObama’s Pentagon boss, said the U.S. has “under-resourced this strategy”
The administration is obliged to respond to such sharp criticism from former officials, and we see here the beginning of the next round in the Clinton v. nObama foreign policy feud. This will complicate nObama’s effort to stay the course on his ISIS containment strategy but also may expose Clinton to liberal anxieties about her more hawkish nature.

WHAT KIND OF COVERAGE DOES HILLY MERIT?
Is it appropriate to give Hilly Clinton’s campaign the same coverage as a normal presidential run? Despite her refusal to abide by the norms of access and accountability amid ongoing revelations from the scandals that dog her run, reporters are still providing Clinton a platform from which to make her case.
There is an argument to be made for a prismatic approach in which coverage of the campaign is seen through the controversies themselves. But what about regular horse-race coverage, especially in a one-horse race?
Reporters on Thursday granted Clinton campaign flacks the privilege of extolling their wonderfulness in the form of an anonymous background briefing. Reporters would be allowed to say that Clinton officials said their campaign was going just dandy and that the drumbeat of ethical concerns was pure piffle, but not report the names of the individuals who were doing the piffle touting. Why? We’re not talking about edifying reporters on a foreign policy controversy that might embarrass an ally. We’re talking about the spin and logistics of a presidential campaign.
While attending, hearing out campaign officials and pressing for real information would be one thing, some reporters went right to the kind of gushy account that the campaign was surely hoping for. Does a detail like “Clinton’s staffers described her as happy and glad to be leading her campaign rather than letting her campaign lead her, as was often the case in 2007 and 2008” really require the veil of secrecy? Is that an appropriate privilege for a campaign that is kneecapping the press?
Given her canned events and walling off reporter questions, how should the media be covering Hilly Clinton’s campaign? Periodic misanthrope and columnist Charles Hurt and The Hill’s Kevin Cirilli give Chris Stirewalt their takes. WATCH HERE.

For the people  Tampa Bay Times: “Hilly Clinton brings her presidential campaign to Florida today but average people and reporters won’t have much of an opportunity, if any at all, to see her up close. When her visit was announced last week aides said she would do a public event. Now that seems off the table, but she might go for something small with little notice — a simple reach for a photo or clip on the TV news." A campaign spokesman would not comment on what she may do. Who will get to see her? People with a lot of money. Clintons is fundraising in Miami-Dade, Broward and Orlando.”   -Fox News

Gun Insurance – New Democrat Proposal
(eanrightamerica.org) ~ Long-time enemy of freedom Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y) has a new trick up her sleeve. The House Rep has introduced a bill that would require gun owners to purchase liability insurance to cover their firearms... Called The Firearm Risk Protection Act, the bill would impose a $10,000 fine on any gun owner found not to have adequate insurance coverage. The bill exempts law enforcement officers and military service members from the requirement. "We require insurance to own a car, but no such requirement exists for guns,” Maloney said in support of her bill. “The results are clear: car fatalities have declined by 25 percent in the last decade, but gun fatalities continue to rise.” According to Maloney, requiring gun owners to purchase insurance would be a way to regulate violence without infringing on the Second Amendment. “An insurance requirement would allow the free market to encourage cautious behavior and help save lives,” she said. “Adequate liability coverage would also ensure that the victims of gun violence are fairly compensated when crimes or accidents occur.” Maloney, you are one idiot. How is this going to enforce criminals to pursuits insurance for guns?       http://www.leanrightamerica.org/uncategorized/gun-insurance-new-democrat-proposal/

UN Ministry Of Disinformation Set Up By “News” Icons To Takeover
(rickwells.us) ~ When your supposedly objective national news sources team with maniacal madmen to engage in blatant propaganda, they are no longer part of a free press but have become merely disinformation dissemination services and agitators... That is the situation Americans and, to a large degree, much of the world now find themselves in, as is evidenced by a new United Nations foundation called, quite unimaginatively, the UN Foundation. CNN founder and leftist billionaire Ted Turner, no stranger to misinformation, has joined the Reuters organization in its creation. The foundation is training what Fox News described as “a squadron of journalists” and is subsidizing media content in 33 countries, including the United States and Britain. Their goal is to put a friendly face on and convince the people of the world to accept UN authoritarianism under Agenda 21, or “Sustainable Development,” as they like to refer to it. It’s an effort to drag the adoption of their global government across the finish line later this year at two world government summits, one in New York in September and another in December in Paris. Six million dollars has been put into the start up by those who hope to reap many times over that amount through the power they hope to wrest for themselves.       http://rickwells.us/un-ministry-of-disinformation-set-up-by-news-icons-to-promote-un-takeover-17-goals-for-world-control/

Schlafly: nObama is 'waging war on America'
(Paul Bremmer) ~ President nObama is instigating a war on the United States, according to longtime conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly. But the president hasn’t dropped a bomb or fired a shot; rather, he has opened the country to tens of millions of immigrants and refugees from all over the world, including from Muslim countries that hate America... “It is waging war on America,” Schlafly told WND. “Muslims would like to take over the world and establish their caliphate, and nObama has let so many Muslims in. I don’t think he should let any Muslims in this country. There’s no reason why they should come in.” The State Department, which oversees the refugee resettlement program, aims to resettle 70,000 total refugees a year. It is estimated that roughly 40 percent of all refugees come from predominantly Muslim countries. WND has reported the U.S. has accepted nearly 2 million refugees from Muslim countries since 1992.        The State Department, which oversees the refugee resettlement program, aims to resettle 70,000 total refugees a year. Welfare Jihad in Europe
(Soeren Kern) ~ More than 30 Danish jihadists have collected unemployment benefits totaling 379,000 Danish krone (€51,000; $55,000) while fighting with the Islamic State in Syria, according to leaked intelligence documents... The fraud, which was reported by Television 2 Danmark on May 18, comes less than six months after the Danish newspaper BT revealed that Denmark had paid unemployment benefits to 28 other jihadists while they were waging war in Syria. The disclosures show that Islamists continue to exploit European social welfare systems to finance their activities both at home and abroad — costing European taxpayers potentially millions of euros each year. I guess we are not the only country being soaked by the wefare system.   http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5856/welfare-jihad

nObama's DOJ to Circumvent Congress with Dozen Gun Controls
(Awr Hawkins) ~ Liberals try to say these laws would have stopped Sandy Hook. But they confidently forget that he stole the guns that he used. The way to have stopped Sandy Hook would have been to have teachers who conceal carry... Criminals don’t go after hard targets. nObama’s Department of Justice is working on “more than a dozen” new gun control regulations it plans to begin implementing apart from Congress. Some of the regulations are set to be put in place by November, others simply by the end of the nObama administration. According to The Hill, “the regulations range from new restrictions on high-powered pistols to gun storage requirements” and the issuance of “new rules expanding criteria for people who do not quality for gun ownership.”       http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/05/31/obamas-doj-to-circumvent-congress-with-more-than-a-dozen-new-gun-controls/

Palestinians Attacked for Marching With Israelis
(israeltoday.co.il) ~ Palestinian participants in a co-existence march with Israelis were attacked by fellow Palestinians on Thursday... The victims were taking part in the annual “Jerusalem Hug” march, the purpose of which is, according to the group’s website, “…to promote a peaceful experience, a life of freedom and joy to all people. The ‘Jerusalem Hug’ focuses on love, respect and unity between all people…and symbolizes a different way to achieve peace: the way of the heart.” A significant number of Arabs both from inside sovereign Israel and from Palestinian Authority-controlled areas joined the demonstration, only to be set upon as they neared Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate.       http://www.israeltoday.co.il/NewsItem/tabid/178/nid/26693/Default.aspx

 Islamic Jizya: Fact and Fiction
(Raymond Ibrahim) ~ Muslim demands for non-Muslim "infidels" to pay jizya on pain of death are growing, even as the West fluctuates between having no clue what jizya is and thinking that jizya is an example of "tolerance" in Islam... In the video where the Islamic State slaughters some 30 Christian Ethiopians in Libya last April, the spokesman repeatedly pointed out that payment of jizya (which the impoverished Ethiopian migrant workers could not render, nor the 21 Copts before them) is the only way for Christians around the world to safeguard their lives: When the Islamic State invaded ancient Christian regions around the Ninevah Plain last June, it again declared: "We offer them [Assyrian Christians] three choices: Islam; the dhimma contract—involving payment of jizya; if they refuse this they will have nothing but the sword." One question, why do we infidels need to be suggest to Muslims?       http://www.meforum.org/5275/jizya-fact-fictio

US Senate Starts Debate Over National Security Surveillance
(voanews.com) ~ The U.S. Senate, in an unusual Sunday session, has started debating whether to extend its authorization of the country's vast national security surveillance operation, or let it lapse at midnight as the current law expires... Lawmakers gathered in Washington just hours after the U.S. intelligence chief warned that global terrorists are looking to take advantage of any halt in the spying effort. Central Intelligence Agency director John Brennan, in an appearance on CBS's Face the Nation, urged the Senate to approve new authorization for the surveillance. That would continue to give the clandestine National Security Agency access to the records of millions of phone calls made by Americans and suspected terrorists, to possibly help in thwarting attacks on the U.S.       http://www.voanews.com/content/obama-steps-up-pressure-renewal-surveillance-measures/2799208.html

Have We Lost the Cultural War?
(Cliff Kincaid) ~ Paul Kengor’s new book, Takedown: From Communists to Progressives, How the Left Has Sabotaged Family and Marriage, provides a detailed explanation of why, according to a new Gallup poll... “Americans are more likely now than in the early 2000s to find a variety of behaviors morally acceptable, including gay and lesbian relations, having a baby outside of marriage and sex between an unmarried man and woman.” Gallup notes, “Moral acceptability of many of these issues is now at a record-high level.” What we are witnessing is a “shift to the left” that has been carefully orchestrated and planned over the course of decades. It is a phenomenon known as “cultural Marxism,” the application of Marxism to culture rather than the economic sphere. Kengor’s book, published by an arm of WorldNetDaily, outlines how this movement has operated, naming the names of the individuals and organizations that have been part of it, and how they have reached their zenith under the presidency of Barack nObama and the Democratic Party.        http://www.aim.org/aim-column/have-we-lost-the-cultural-war/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email060115&utm_medium=ema

 (Not) Defeating ISIS and Iran
(Michael Ledeen) ~ Policy-making by committee rarely works well, as the five-man team at the Washington Institute demonstrates to near perfection. The quintet of (truly) distinguished policy-makers has produced something  termed a Strategy to Defeat ISIS and Iran, but it does neither... I’ve been through it several times and can’t find a single proposal that would “defeat” either one. In fact, at one point Messrs Hadley, Ross, Jeffrey, Berger and Satloff state quite categorically that while we might prevail militarily against ISIS, …military action is only one dimension; ISIL cannot be defeated unless it is also discredited. Only Muslims can undermine ISIL’s fanatical ideology, and they must take the lead in doing so. Whenever I read such language—which is not rare—I have to suppress a scream, because a lot of the history of 20th century totalitarianism shows that fanatical ideologies (fascism, Nazism and communism, for example) were fatally undermined by military defeat. Both IS and the Iranian regime claim their imperialism is blessed by Allah. Their military success is attributed to the support of the Almighty. If they are defeated, especially by infidel American, or American-led fighters, what does that do to the ideology? Did Allah go over to the other side?        http://www.aim.org/guest-column/not-defeating-isis-and-iran/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email060115&utm_medium=email

The Hilly Enigma
Alan Caruba
.

.
Hillary%2BOld.jpg
.
(factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com) - Does it strike anyone as strange that the only candidate for the Democratic Party’s nomination to be the next President of the United States is the wife of a former President? There is no historic precedent for this, no way to measure this against how Americans have selected Presidents in the past.
.
Like most Americans, I first took notice of her when Bill began his campaign to become President. I recall being struck by the fact that in 1969 as a student at Wellesley College, her 92-page senior thesis was devoted to the community organizer, Saul Alinsky’s book. The title of the thesis was “There is Only the Fight…”: An Analysis of the Alinski Model.” She would request Wellesley to deny access to it.
.
Alinksy was a Communist. His twelve rules for radicals, unlike the Ten Commandments, are devoid of a moral message. Instead, the message is “this is how you can win.” Hilly would do well to review Rule 7, “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” She was already old news when she announced her candidacy and it is becoming older with every passing day as she fails to take questions from the media, participating in totally staged events to look like “one of the people.”
.
She and Bill are not one of the people. They, like the Bushes, are political royalty. They have both been around a very long time.
.
Hilly, however, despite the millions of words that have been written about and by her remains an enigma. Other than being farther to the Left than Bill, she is a woman whose “achievements” in life have largely been the result of having married Bill. She would spend eight years in the White House as the First Lady and, pursuing her college dreams of political power, they would move to New York State where she ran and won a Senatorial election.
.
There isn’t a single Senate bill that she introduced or that is credited to her. She is said to have worked hard and gotten along well with her colleagues, but her Senate years are a blur in her public life. Then she made a bid to be the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in 2008 and along came Barack Hussein nObama with whom the voters fell in love. When he was elected, he asked her to become his Secretary of State.
.
With the exception of the Benghazi tragedy on September 11, 2012, a clear failure of judgment and duty, and about which she lied, her years as Secretary of State reflect her years in the Senate; nothing of any significance resulted, no major treaties, no major anything, except for one more scandal.
.
So the question remains; who is Hilly Rodham Clinton? What are her fundamental principles beyond the acquisition of political power? And money. Lots of it while uttering nonsense such as she and Bill being “dead broke” when they left office?
.
What are we to make of her deletions of thousands of emails on her private server—something she was not supposed to use as Secretary of State—and her assertion that those we may never see were of no importance? They’re important if, as is widely believed, foreign governments hacked her private email server and thus had access to information about policies affecting themselves and others. She may not have broken a law, but she surely did not obey nObama White House policy regarding the emails.
.
Alinski’s Rule 1 is “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have. Power is derived from two main sources—money and people.”
.
We are told that Hilly has a huge amount of money with which to wage a campaign to become the first woman President. In light of the revelations about the Clinton Foundations, virtual slush funds, and the millions earned by her and Bill to give speeches, there is little doubt of that.
.
You cannot, however, buy trust and the polls indicate that is seeping away.
.
Her die-hard supporters probably know as little about her as the rest of us, but it is their trust she is depending on right now. Should she actually receive the Democratic Party’s nomination, the distrust of independent voters, disaffected Democrats, and of course Republicans, will play a crucial role in who is elected in 2016. It is not likely to be Hilly Clinton.
.
It is not likely because, as we have already seen, she seems to have reached a point where her political abilities have grown tired and out-of-date. These are not the 1990s. A whole generation has been born since Bill was President.
.
Like her, the Democratic Party seems tired as well. Can you believe there is not another Democrat, a Governor or Senator who could emerge to represent the Party? How devoid of any real leadership has the Democratic Party become if the only candidate they can offer is a former First Lady? That has been her primary claim to fame despite the two offices she has held since the 1990s.
.
I suggest that Hilly ceases to be an enigma if you just think of the Wellesley student who thought the best topic for her senior thesis was the book by a dedicated Communist, Saul Alinsky.
