Please Hold While the IRS Ignores Your Call
A few days before Income Redistribution Day, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen declared the IRS had once again pulled off a successful heist of the American pocketbook tax season. "The system has worked flawlessly," he said. (We're sure Lois Lerner would say the same thing.) But those aren't the words the Treasury's inspector general would use to describe the IRS's ability to pick up a phone. According to a new IG report, before March 7, Americans called the IRS 45.6 million times, but the agency answered the phone just 38.5% of the time. And that was after Americans stayed on the line for an average of 25 minutes. About 10 years ago, The Hill reports, the IRS answered its phones 90% of the time and citizens only needed to wait a few minutes. The U.S. tax code has only grown in complexity, while the IRS doesn't seem to consider customer service as a metric of success. More... -The Patriot Post 
nObama's Taxing Rhetoric
It's no surprise that Barack nObama likes to misrepresent his policies and his record. The latest example is the whopper he told a town-hall audience in Charlotte about his record on taxes and spending. "If you listen to some of my political critics, they always want to paint me or the Democratic Party as this tax-and-spend, you know, irresponsible," he complained. "Since I came into office, the federal deficit's come down by two-thirds." He loves this line because his adoring audiences don't know the difference between "debt" and "deficit," and because it allows him to leave out two particularly inconvenient truths: First, he and his party nearly quadrupled the deficit before the Tea Party gave Republicans control of the House in 2010; and second, the national debt has gone from $10.6 trillion to more than $18 trillion since nObama took office. But, hey, he cut the deficit! Furthermore, nObama's never met a tax he didn't like, and he's always looking for new "investments" to make in education, infrastructure, job training, or any number of other leftist programs. Raise taxes, spend more money, repeat. That's the Democrat way. -The Patriot Post
No Tip for You!
Hilly Clinton is "hitting the road to earn your vote," but she managed to visit an Ohio Chipotle restaurant without actually interacting with or being recognized by anybody. Even the employees didn't know she was there until after she left. But maybe that was a good thing, since she didn't leave a tip. The store manager said, “Her bill was $20 and some change, and they paid with $21 and left” without putting anything in the counter tip jar. Normally, it's not a huge deal to skip the tip at a fast food restaurant when no particular person is serving you at a table. Indeed, even the manager played it off as no big deal. But Hilly is worth north of $100 million and hauls in $300,000 just for making a speech. Surely she could spare a few bucks for the hard-working people at Chipotle when she had the opportunity to make a difference — if for nothing else than a photo-op of her caring generosity. After all, she tells us “everyday Americans need a champion.” Evidently, that champion isn't her. -The Patriot Post
Despite nObama Rhetoric, Jihadis Advance in Middle East
The nObama administration keeps trying to tell a rosy narrative about terrorism and Islamic jihad in the Middle East, but the facts keep getting in its way. Despite reports that American military and intelligence have pulled out of the country, Barack nObama continues to claim that Yemen is still a successful model for counterterrorism foreign policy. But this just in: After a brief clash with a Yemeni brigade, al-Qaida captured an airport, a seaport and an oil terminal — and that was just Thursday's activities for the terrorist organization. So much for al-Qaida being "decimated" or "on the run." While al-Qaida was taking victories in Yemen, loose lips Joe Biden was saying the fight against the Islamic State was turning against jihadis. "The momentum is in the right direction," he told the National Defense University just last week. But ISIL has taken several towns around Ramadi and stands poised to capture the city itself. Ramadi is the last city in western Iraq controlled by the Iraqi Army. And this is despite the United States' Operation "Inherent Resolve." Charles Krauthammer observed, to put it mildly, "The administration is quickly developing a huge problem of credibility." -The Patriot Post
Iran Deal Sparks Nuclear Energy Race in Middle East
It didn't take long for unintended consequences to crop up. In response to the terrible deal with Iran that Team nObama is touting, Turkey announced it broke ground on its first nuclear reactor, with a second one in the works. What further "sweetens" this deal is that Russia is constructing the plant for Turkey. We thought Barack nObama's deal with Iran was supposed to prevent nuclear proliferation. In March, Saudi Arabia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with South Korea to build two smallish nuclear power plants in the country to the tune of $2 billion. It's a small comfort, perhaps, that these countries are at this point only dabbling in nuclear energy, not weapons. But they are surely thinking that if Iran ever breaks out with deliverable weapons-grade fissile material they'll have the nuclear expertise to catch up more quickly.

Veteran Loses $60,000 To Police, Despite Lack Of Criminal Charges
(Nick Sibilla) - Mark Brewer is a decorated Air Force veteran who fought in the global war on terror. But last month, he became a casualty in the drug war...In late March, the U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the federal government could take more than $60,000 of Brewer’s cash with civil forfeiture, even though he was never charged with a crime. The decision lets many Midwestern states continue to take property from people who have done nothing wrong. A former military police officer and weapons specialist, Brewer earned several medals during his service in the Air Force, before he was medically discharged in 2008. Jeff Sessions and Ben Sasse thought it possible that as many as 90,000 of them may have been enrolled in the Social Security system already. But as bad as that would have been, the truth turns out to be a lot worse. Illegal Aliens Are Not Criminals, Immigration Law Isn’t Real
(rickwells.us) - What will law enforcement look like in the United States if Loretta Lynch is confirmed as Eric Holder 2.0 to be the U.S. Attorney General?...Aside from continuing the anti-white racism and federal assault on local law enforcement, we are being given a peek into the world of non-criminal law enforcement. She believes that violating immigration law is legal as long as nObama says it is and so, apparently does the California State Attorney General, Kamala Harris. We can take a look at that shining monument to runaway liberalism as a model of what not to do for yet another reason. According to Attorney General Harris, failing to prosecute a lawbreaker equals the lack of a crime. At least it looks like not a crime in modern liberal subjectivity rules the day. Looks matter and if she looks the other way saying she doesn’t see a crime, who are we mere citizens to argue? In a recent interview on KCAL9 TV, Harris, who, sadly, is running as a candidate for the U.S. Senate, said, “I’m a career prosecutor. I’ve personally prosecuted everything from low-level offenses to homicides. Unfortunately, I know what crime looks like. I know what a criminal looks like who’s committing a crime. An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal.” Maybe she just needs glasses. Back Off, EPA – 3 GOP Pres Candidates Target Overreaching Enviro

Trey Gowdy Tells Judge Pirro Why Hilly Gets Special Treatment

Gowdy acknowledges that while his committee has the power to subpoena people and documents, it cannot subpoena tangible things, such as an email server. Gowdy says he wants the information and the documents and if he is able to obtain them by being “uncharacteristically courteous,” and give her an extra two weeks in exchange for what he wants, he would rather go that route. That 2.7 legislation morphed into 6 million over the years that followed, with our problem now estimated to be as much as ten times greater than it was in 1986. Our current illegal alien “population” is estimated as high as 20 million, with the citizens of all of Latin America keeping a close eye on what the U.S. does. In his remarks, nObama never identifies Davis as a communist or even a leftist. I Will Not Be Deterred

(sonsoflibertymedia.com) - Irving, Texas Mayor Beth Van Duyne came under fire in March as the Irving City Council put forth a resolution that sought to ban foreign law from being a part of Texas. Ultimately, this would do away with Islamic Sharia and the Islamic tribunal that was erected in Dallas. She warned Islamists that she would not be bullied shortly after the firestorm. On Thursday, Van Duyne penned an op-ed in the Dallas Morning News calling all of the controversy that had been generated by the resolution to ban foreign law in Texas “baffling,” and warned that she will not be deterred in standing against foreign law in Texas.
“My repeated commitment to uphold the primacy of American law and constitutional protections for Texans, including and especially immigrant women, has been characterized as something like a hate campaign,” wrote Van Duyne.
From the outset of her postings on Facebook, she was clear that the resolution was to protect the people’s rights and ensure that they were not violated by upholding constitutional law. However, the outrage from the Muslim community had her perplexed.
“It is baffling to comprehend the amount of controversy generated by my support as mayor of Irving for a state law that simply asks family law judges to uphold American fundamental constitutional rights when deciding a case that involves a conflicting foreign law,” she wrote. “Most often the victims of unjust foreign law are women and from immigrant communities. How can defending these newcomers to America be considered disrespectful or hateful?”
She then pointed out the recent establishment of the Islamic tribunal, which had its own share of problems as it used taqiyyah to push the propaganda that those involved were attorneys when the reality was they were not.
“The controversy was compounded by the recent news that Texas has a functioning Shariah tribunal in Dallas,” Mayor Van Duyne wrote. “It is true that I was alarmed by this development since Shariah law is clerically based and there is no evidence that this “court” (as it was called initially) aligns its determinations with American laws. Nor is there any procedural guarantee that constitutional rights are protected in this setting. Indeed, the very members of this “court” were holding themselves forth as both “attorneys” and “judges” despite the fact that none of them held a law degree or was licensed to practice in Texas. From inception, this was a violation of our laws.”
Not only that, but at least one of the members of this tribunal supports the designated terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group and prays for Muslims to see victory in Somalia, Palestine, Egypt, Syria and, no doubt, America.
The Irving Mayor also pointed out that though these tribunals claim to be “non-binding,” they are anything but that.
“Currently, Texas courts allow parties to subject themselves to foreign laws rather than state laws in family law matters (see the case Jabri vs. Qaddura from 2003). It states, ‘Once the party establishes the claim within the arbitration agreement, the trial court must compel arbitration and stay its own proceedings,'” she pointed out. “In other words, as much as we have heard that these tribunals are ‘nonbinding,’ the fact is they are enforceable in Texas courts even when foreign law is the foundation. Also of note, Texas has the third most Shariah law cases in the country.”
Van Duyne then pointed to a 40-page report, which is a British study of England’s nearly 85 Shariah courts. She found that most disturbing thing in that report to be the mistreatment of women under those tribunals.
“Americans should learn the errors of the British system and take prudent, measured actions to both educate, inform and secure the rights of women in our nation,” the Mayor warned.
I agree, but it isn’t just women who suffer under Shariah courts in Britain. A Christian pastor was tried, sentenced, fined and threatened with imprisonment by one of these UK Shariah judges for preaching out against sodomy and Islam.According to Mayor Van Duyne, many women have contacted her and been appreciative of her courage to tackle this issue, stand her ground and be a voice for them. Then she leveled a warning to those who seek to attack her.
“Those who have worked to demean my intent and demonize my actions may not care about protecting these women, but that will not deter me from standing for them and their rights on American soil.”
So far, HB562, which would protect marriages and parent-child relationships from loss of constitutional rights to foreign laws, and HB670, which would reinforce the state’s civil code by preventing courts, arbitrators or administrative judges from basing any ruling ‘on a foreign law if the application of that law would violate’ a constitutional right, are both pending in committees.
