Nunes - DOJ Better Cough Up the Docs
by Wednesday or Hell to Pay, It won't be Pretty
{ rickwells.us } ~ Maria Bartiromo questions House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes about the results... of the meeting he, Speaker Ryan, Trey Gowdy and Bob Goodlatte had with FBI and DOJ leadership last Friday. She characterizes the agreement reached as “they are going to deliver all of the documents that are left to be delivered to you by next Friday, asking what happens if it’s more of the same and nothing happens. Nunes clarifies that the deadline isn’t next Friday, it’s Monday for the production to begin and Friday for it to be completed. If documents are forthcoming Monday and Tuesday, with “a clear way and path forward for everything else is not clear, here, in the next couple of days, there’s going to be hell to pay by Wednesday morning.” Nunes says, “It’s not just about the committee chairman any longer.” The rank and file members of Congress want him to produce for them so that they can do their jobs and that isn’t happening for reasons that this new posture addresses. He says, “This is going to go from just myself and a few committee chairmen to all of the members of the House of Representatives, who are going to begin to take action against the Department of Justice and the FBI.”... https://rickwells.us/nunes-doj-docs-hell-pay/
.Alan Dershowitz questions why the
government gets to 'win' on Paul Manafort
{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz questioned why the government gets to “win” in the case against President Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort before a hearing or trial... “Why does the government get to win without a hearing or trial?” Dershowitz questioned on “Fox & Friends” Saturday. “There’s something wrong with a system that assumes guilt this way,” he commented. The outspoken law professor questioned why Manafort was sent to jail before his July trial and “presumed guilty” while U.S. Constitution says all citizens are “innocent until proven guilty.” “Under the law, Manafort is no more guilty of contacting witnesses or attempting to obstruct justice than any of us,” he argued. “The government says he did it, he says ‘no’ he didn't do it.”....
Homeland Security Official Blasts
False Reporting on Child Separations
{ lifezette.com } ~ President Donald Trump’s administration is pushing back against the narrative in the mainstream media and among open-borders advocates... that federal authorities are heartlessly separating children from their parents. A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official, speaking Friday to reporters on condition of anonymity, challenged what he called false reports in news stories and blasted MSNBC host Joe Scarborough for comparing immigration enforcers to Nazis. Under the controversial policy announced earlier this year by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, U.S. Border Patrol officers detain illegal immigrants — without their children — in three cases: When the adult has been referred for prosecution for illegal entry; when authorities determine that the child’s safety is at risk; or when authorities suspect that the adult traveling with a child is lying about the parental relationship...
.Palestinians: Victims of Arab Apartheid
{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ Lebanon is one of several Arab countries where Palestinians are subjected to discriminatory and apartheid laws and measures... The plight of Palestinians in Arab countries, however, is apparently of no interest to the international community, and pro-Palestinian activists and groups around the world. Recently, the Lebanese authorities placed electronic screening gates at all entrances to Ain Al-Hilweh, the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon. The move has sparked a wave of protests in Ain Al-Hilweh and among Palestinians living in other refugee camps in Lebanon, who are describing the installation of the electronic gates as collective punishment. Until a few years ago, Ain Al-Hilweh had a population of 75,000. However, with the influx of refugees from Syria, which began in 2011, the camp's population is now estimated at more than 160,000. About two years ago, the Lebanese army began building a security fence around Ain Al-Hilweh as part of an effort to combat jihadi terror groups that were reported to have infiltrated the camp....
Both Democrats And Republicans Are Saying
She May Be The First Female President
{ lidblog.com } ~ Unlike the two-time failure in liar-Hillary Clinton, there is one woman on the political scene who is uniting both parties around her... as possibly the first female President of the United States. Her name is Nikki Haley. At first Nikki Haley’s appointment to the UN Ambassador role was kind of shocking at least IMHO There was really no indication that she had a strong backbone, especially when one considers how fast she conceded the removal of the Confederate Flag from state grounds when she was governor of South Carolina. But since Ms. Haley became our Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, she has shown herself to be a powerful take-no-prisoners advocate for the United States. She has strongly condemned the UN for its Antisemitism, Russia for its Support of Syria’s attacks on its civilians, China over Korea, just to name a few examples. Nikki Haley showcases the fact that under Donald Trump the U.S. has a foreign policy with some backbone. Make no mistake about she constantly reminds the UN that the United States makes its own foreign policy and no international body can tell us what to do... https://lidblog.com/first-female-president/ .
Understanding the OIG Report
by Tom McLaughlin
On election night I celebrated his victory. If he actually did half the things he said he would, I knew America would be much better off. At about 9:30 pm, I flipped around to NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC and enjoyed the extreme distress on the faces of their talking heads as they realized Trump would actually win. I savored schadenfreude for the rest of the evening and all through the next day.
It seems like a day doesn’t go by without some female high school teacher getting arrested for having sexual relations with an underage student. The story line is always the same. Ms. Hotpants either gets caught in the act or because her student paramour shares with the world the naked selfies that for some weird reason she just had to send to his cell phone. Invariably the teacher is quickly and unceremoniously condemned, fired from her job and arrested. To illustrate this point, let me apply the OIG’s reserved and non-judgmental standards to the hypothetical case of Teacher 1 and Student A who have been caught naked in a car parked behind the local Piggly Wiggly. Herewith is an excerpt from the hypothetical report by the Pleasant Valley School District’s Office of Inspector General:We asked Teacher 1 why she and Student A had been in her car at Midnight. She replied that he had been doing poorly in her class, and she was tutoring him. We acknowledge that such additional instruction would be a valid and proper pedagogical undertaking. Nevertheless, we asked why they were not wearing clothes. She explained that they had become hot and sweaty, and she believed that it was important that teacher and student should eliminate physical discomforts to maximize the learning experience. We asked why they had an open bottle of vodka and a box of condoms. She explained that these items had been left in the car by her husband. Since her spouse is not an employee of the school district, we were unable to question him regarding this matter. While we found Teacher 1’s answers to be unpersuasive, she made no direct declaration as to why she had engaged in this drunken, naked and nocturnal meeting with Student A. Consequently, we have no definitive proof that she was motivated by a desire to engage in sexual relations. Therefore, we make no finding regarding her motive or intent.
