. House Republicans Pass Bill to Rein In Dodd-Frank
On Thursday, while seemingly everyone in Washington was fixated on former FBI Director James Comey's testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee, House Republicans were busy. A bill entitled the Financial Choice Act was passed, along party lines, which aims to significantly roll back many of the onerous banking regulations created by the Dodd-Frank Act. In speaking on the need to continue the process of government deregulation, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) tweeted, "Let me put it this way: #DoddFrank is more than a thousand pages long and has more rules and regulations than any liar-nObama-era law."
While the Financial Choice Act does not repeal Dodd-Frank, it does go a long way in reining in its congressionally independent powers. The House Republicans' bill specifically targets the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), an unelected and unaccountable board of bureaucrats. Clamping down on the CFPB's ability to create new financial regulations without approval from Congress is a very welcome change given the fact that elected representatives, not unelected bureaucrats, should have the power and responsibility to create significant rules and regulations. The new bill also stops the CFPB from collecting consumers' information without their permission.
Democrats' justification for the passage of Dodd-Frank was to prevent a repeat of the 2008 financial crisis — a crisis for which Democrats sowed the seeds with housing regulation. As is often the case with onerous government regulations, Dodd-Frank proved to do little in the way of actually helping small businesses and small banks, instead hurting them and resulting in years of sluggish economic growth. Rep. Rod Pittenger (R-NC) states, "Local bank leaders tell me they now hire more compliance officers than loan officers, as filling out forms for bureaucrats has become more important than growing the economy." The irony in Dodd-Frank is that its regulations, which were supposed to protect the little guy, have proven to prevent and hinder economic growth and opportunity for the little guy.
Many are predicting that the House bill is dead on arrival in the Senate, and it is certain to undergo significant changes, but there are some Democrats who have voiced support for reforming Dodd-Frank. ~The Patriot Post

Comey Memo Bagman Ordered
By Senators To Turn It Over To Them

{rickwells.us} ~ We may be learning fairly soon whether or not the supposed memo that James Comey wrote to himself to document the “really scary” meeting he had one on one with President Trump ever really existed... or if it was just a stupid, reflexive lie that now has him in serious legal jeopardy. If not, his perhaps former close friend, Columbia Law Professor Daniel Richman, may be facing some legal problems of his own. Richman has been ordered by a bipartisan group of high-ranking Republican and Democrat Senators, Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Sheldon Whitehouse, (D-RI) to produce the “let this go” memo he leaked to the NYT. Jeff Sessions faces second wave of perjury fever

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ A fresh volley of perjury claims against Attorney General Jeff Sessions have been tossed around by Democrats in the days following testimony by former FBI Director James Comey... in which he reportedly told senators about the possibility of yet another undisclosed meeting between Sessions and a Russian envoy. Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., floated the prospect of perjury Friday during an interview on MSNBC. "I think that he did not answer truthfully under oath," Franken said, responding to the question of whether Sessions is fit to run the Justice Department after the latest allegations that there may be a third undisclosed meeting last year between Sessions, then a senator, and Russian ambassador to the United States Sergei Kislyak. Protest – Like A Movie Set, But Fake News

In the video CNN is once again exposed as fraudulent, with that event being a complete fabrication on their part, created by them and one which was not and would not have happened if they hadn’t gotten involved and caused it to happen. They, of course didn’t report it the fake event that it was, but as them having somehow happened upon an actual event, an expression of outrage by “moderate” Islamists upset with the attack by their brethren on the infidels. Update: after the Comey testimony, which truly confirmed there was no “obstruction of justice,” Representatives Green and Sherman continue to chase windmills. Again, these fellas have a conviction looking for evidence, but they will not be deterred — as stated — regardless of the lack of evidence or truth to the contrary.
However, I find this whole endeavor, along with the resistance movement, to be completely political and absurd. Consider this, where were Reps. Sherman and Green when one former president named Bill liar-Clinton pulled a surprise undisclosed visit with the Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, when there was an open investigation against former President liar-Clinton’s wife, who was running for president?
Where is the outrage about “obstruction of justice” when we know Director Comey testified that Attorney General Lynch directed him not to use the words “investigation” but rather “matter” when it came to Mrs. liar-Clinton’s case? Yes, you hear that? uh huh, crickets. And somehow these two cheeky fellas want us to take them seriously and believe they’re credible, and not just two delusional political hacks? I’m quite sure we could go back not too far and find both of these chuckleheads wanting FBI Director James Comey fired. And if they weren’t listening, President Trump was and is not under any investigation emanating from the FBI…but Hillary liar-Clinton was.
Somehow Reps. Green and Sherman didn’t find it an impeachable offense when Barack liar-nObama shipped off millions of dollars, laundered into Swiss francs, to Iran in the middle of the night. They didn’t find it impeachable to have a president who abandoned Americans to die when under attack from Islamic jihadists, and then lied about the nature of the assault. They never questioned Susan Rice for her dubious five-time lying performance, nor the sitting secretary of state, later Democrat Party presidential nominee. When did we EVER hear Green and Sherman show concern about Eric Holder and the Fast and Furious scheme from the liar-nObama administration, that resulted in the death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry? What is so very perplexing and telling about the progressive socialist left and these two rascals using crayons to draw up articles of impeachment is that we have a previous presidential administration where Americans were killed, due singularly to the deceitful and dismissive actions of liar-nObama…but hey, that was cool by them.
I’ve said it before and will say it over and over again. The only real “impeachable offense” that President Trump is guilty of is winning the election in November 2016. Therefore the left, aided by a corrupt liberal progressive media machine, will continue to hound him until they exact their two pounds of flesh. But this has no meaning, no credibility coming off the heels of what was clearly THE most corrupt, and dare I say, evil presidential administration we have seen in modern times.
Do Reps. Green and Sherman believe it’s fine to unleash the tyranny of the IRA, oops, I mean IRS against the American people? Can they actually believe lying about a major policy endeavor known as liar-nObamacare is completely acceptable — after all President liar-nObama was awarded the Politifact 2013 “Lie of the Year.”
And collusion with Russia? What do you call it when liar-nObama leans over, in a supposed “off mic” moment, and expresses to then Russian President Dmitry Medvedev “tell Vladimir I’ll have more flexibility after my reelection?” Just look at the global gains made by Putin and Russia. Oh by the way, did Green and Sherman ever show anguish and angst about liar-nHillary Clinton’s uranium deal with the Russians?
With all this being said, what truly angers me the most — and yes, I expect utter stupidity and hypocrisy from the progressive socialist left — is the pure cowardice of the Republicans on Capitol Hill. If there were someone with cojones and courage, they would’ve looked at Chuck clown-Schumer and Nancy Pulosi and repeated exactly what I’ve addressed here. They would have told them that for eight years we watched countless examples of unconstitutional actions and definable “high crimes and misdemeanors” by Barack liar-nObama and you said or did nothing. We’re not holding any insidious hearings; we’re focused on the legislative and policy agenda for which the American people gave us this majority. If you want to sit in a corner and whine, we’ll order cheese. The is a contact sport, a bare knuckles brawl, and there are no Marquess of Queensberry rules of order and decorum when you’re dealing with the likes of Reality Leigh Winner…or for that matter Reps. Green and Sherman. I’m very close to referring the latter two for some psychiatric evaluation…something else the morally challenged progressive socialist left has recommended for President Trump.
Articles of Impeachment? Really fellas, let me tell you in simple Southern vernacular, what ever you write up, isn’t even worthy of being used in a field latrine. It’s time we look the left in the face and push back. There’s so very much at stake here, mainly the future of our Constitutional Republic. Never have I seen a greater collection of jackasses — their party symbol — who become more enraged over the weather 100 years from now than the Islamic jihadists killing and beheading us today. Now, explain to me, who in their right mind would take these people seriously? Today’s Democrat Party has been overtaken by the progressive socialist left, and truly the inmates of the insane asylum, such as U.S. Representatives Al Green and Brad Sherman are indicative of such.
All I can say is, thank God these weren’t the type of men this country produced some 242 years ago, or else we’d still be speaking with an English accent.
