{ jpost.com } ~ Incoming rocket sirens continued to wail after Palestinian Islamic Jihad announced that it would stop firing rockets towards Israel on Monday evening... after the group fired over 50 rockets in the second day of violence with the Iranian-backed terror group. A spokesman for the al-Quds Brigades, Islamic Jihad’s military wing, took to Twitter to say the group was behind the most recent rocket fire from the Strip because Israel continued to carry out strikes.  “We had announced the conclusion of our military response to the assassination crimes in Khan Younis and Damascus, but the enemy did not abide and bombarded our sites and fighters. Therefore, we announce that we retaliated in order to affirm the bombardment for bombardment model,” the group’s spokesperson Abu Hamza wrote on Twitter. “We tell the enemy not to test us. We will establish the equation…. your threats will not frighten us,” he continued, adding that “whoever bets on breaking the resistance through aggression and terrorism will lose their political future and the threats of leaders of the occupation will not bring security to the settlers.” Palestinian terror groups in the Gaza Strip later said that they had agreed to a ceasefire with Israel which would go into effect at 10PM. Earlier in the evening the group said that it had “finished its military response to the assassination crimes in Khan Younis and Damascus” but warned that it would respond to any “continued [aggression] by the occupation against our people and land.”  An Israeli security official said that Jerusalem has received “messages from various ranks within the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) regarding a desire for an immediate ceasefire,” but he said, Israel was “skeptical” of the claims and would believe only the actions on the ground rather than words.  “The IDF will continue to act until quiet is restored to the south,” the official said. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated that of the 50 rockets fired towards Israel 90% were intercepted by the Iron Dome System. While the majority of the other rockets struck open fields, others fell in residential communities-one near a playground in the college town of Sderot as well as in the yard of a home. In Netivot, rocket shrapnel fell near a house...   https://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/IDF-hits-Palestinian-Islamic-Jihad-targets-in-Gaza-and-Syria-618547

{ timesofisrael.com } ~ In a highly irregular move, the Israel Defense Forces launched a series of retaliatory airstrikes on Palestinian Islamic Jihad sites in both Syria and the Gaza Strip on Sunday night... in response to waves of rocket attacks by the Iran-backed terror group throughout the evening, the military said. “IDF fighter jets struck terror sites belonging to the PIJ terror group south of Damascus in Syria, as well as dozens of PIJ sites throughout the Gaza Strip,” the IDF said in a statement. Islamic Jihad said in a statement that the airstrikes killed two of its members, identifying them as Salim Salim, 24, and Ziad Mansour, 23. It did not disclose their nationalities or elaborate on their roles. The militant group vowed to respond to the deaths of its members. Israel rarely acknowledges conducting airstrikes in Syria, save for those that are in retaliation to attacks coming from there. Rocket attacks against southern Israel continued throughout the IDF’s counter-attack, triggering several rounds of sirens in the town of Sderot and the surrounding area. Throughout Sunday evening, some 30 rockets and mortar shells were fired at southern Israel from the Gaza Strip, approximately half of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. The rocket fire came after an irregular clash along the Gaza border earlier in the day in which Israeli troops shot dead a member Palestinian Islamic Jihad as he planted an improvised explosive device along the border. The Israeli military then retrieved his body, using a bulldozer. The IDF said the strikes in Syria and Gaza were in response to both the morning’s attempted IED attack and the rocket fire throughout the evening...   https://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-strikes-islamic-jihad-targets-in-gaza-in-response-to-rocket-attacks/?utm_source=The+Daily+Edition&utm_campaign=daily-edition-2020-02-24&utm_medium=email

{ foxnews.com } ~ Fears of a global pandemic continue to grow as  coronavirus cases spike in several countries, including  Italy, South Korea and Iran and the U.S. stock market nosedived early Monday... A staggering 50 people died in the Iranian city of Qom from the new coronavirus in the month of February, Iran's semiofficial ILNA news agency reported on Monday. The new death toll is significantly higher than the latest number of confirmed cases that Iranian officials had reported just a few hours earlier,  which stood at just 12 deaths out of 47 cases, according to state TV. The 50 deaths date back as far as Feb. 13, according to an Iranian official. Iran previously reported its cases and deaths from the virus on Feb. 19. Authorities are struggling to contain and understand the outbreak in those countries, where infected cases have skyrocketed as they have increased over 2,000 percent in the past couple weeks. Italy is considered the site of Europe's first major outbreak and the largest outside of Asia. The number of infected cases jumped to 152, compared to just three 10 days ago.The country is currently scrambling to disrupt the spread of the virus, which has seen 110 cases in Milan, its financial district and Venice, known as a famous hub for tourists throughout the world. Events and soccer matches were canceled in the country, while some of its movie theatres were reportedly shuttered, including Milan's legendary La Scala. “We are worried about the situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran and in Italy,” World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a news conference in Stockholm via a video link. Cases in South Korea increased to 763 on Monday, with 161 more people infected within the last 24 hours. The country had just 28 infected cases on Feb. 14. President Moon Jae-in called for "unprecedented, powerful" steps on Sunday to fight the virus which is spreading rapidly throughout the country — including the capital Seoul. “The coming few days will be a critical time for us,” Jae-in said. “The central government, local governments, health officials and medical personnel and the entire people must wage an all-out, concerted response to the problem.” He raised the threat level to "red alert," its highest national threat level for the first time in a decade...   https://www.foxnews.com/health/global-outbreak-causes-pandemic-fears-after-cases-jump-in-italy-and-south-korea

by wnd.com ~ President Trump once again is being accused without evidence of colluding with the Russians to win an election while a shocking, documented effort by Democrats... to solicit the help of the communist Soviet Union to defeat a Republican opponent has drawn little attention.  During President Reagan's first term as president, the "lion of the Senate," Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., made secret overtures to the Soviet Union to thwart Reagan's re election, according to a KGB document. In 2017, Paul Kengor, a political science professor at Grove City College, explained to WND that the May 1983 letter from KGB head Victor Chebrikov to Soviet Premier Yuri Andropov details a request from Kennedy to help the Russians prior to the 1984 election. Kennedy's aim was to prevent Reagan's re-election." It's an actual official Soviet document," Kengor told WND's David Kupelian, "one that was housed in the Central Committee archives until it was discovered after the Cold War in 1992." Kengor first published the document in full in his 2006 book on Ronald Reagan, "The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism." Media, however, ignored the attempt by a Democratic senator to subvert the reelection of a sitting U.S. president by "colluding with the Russians." "That entire time, Ted Kennedy was alive and could have been questioned about this," Kengor noted. "But the fact is that the Democrats and the liberals in the media didn't give a damn. Why? Because Ted Kennedy was one of their darlings." Now, in the Trump era, he said, "the Democrats and liberals are suddenly Russia hawks." Kupelian also sought perspective from Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa, the highest-ranking Soviet-bloc defector to the West during the Cold War. Pacepa said Russia has been attempting to influence America for more than half a century. "The leaders of our Democratic Party have known at least for seven decades that Russia was trying to influence the U.S. policies and her elections process – it was an open secret," he said. Former CIA Director R. James Woolsey, who wrote the introduction to Pacepa's book "Disinformation," concurred. Russia has been trying to influence America's political and electoral direction "since at least the 1940s, and possibly going back into the 30s," he said in a 2016 interview.

School launches secret program

by wnd.com ~ A Wisconsin school district's policy of allowing students of any age to transition to a different gender and use a different name while at school without parental notice... or consent has drawn a lawsuit from angry parents. The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty and the Alliance Defending Freedom are representing 14 individual parents from eight families who contend the policy violates constitutionally protected parental rights. "This is a life-altering decision that educators have no business making," said ADF Senior Counsel Roger Brooks. Brooks cited an affidavit from Stephen B. Levine, a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. "As Dr. Levine explains based on decades of experience and extensive scientific literature, putting children on a pathway to puberty-blockers and cross-sex hormones can have devastating effects across a lifetime," Brooks said. "That should serve as a wake-up call to parents and all Americans: When schools cast aside biological reality in favor of gender identity ideology, it’s children who are hurt the most."Levine wrote: "For a child to live radically different identities at home and at school, and to conceal what he or she perceives to be his or her true identity from parents, is psychologically unhealthy in itself, and could readily lead to additional psychological problems." The psychiatrist said that "extended secrecy and a 'double life' concealed from the parents is rarely the path to psychological health." "For this reason at least, schools should not support deceit of parents," he said. " ... Most children are both legally and developmentally incapable of giving informed consent to such a life-altering intervention. And parents, of course, cannot give informed consent if the fact of their child’s wish to assume a transgender identity is concealed from them." Levine headed a committee that crafted a pioneering set of standards of care for individuals suffering from gender dysphoria. He was a senior editor for three editions of the "Handbook of Clinical Sexuality for Mental Health Professionals." He also founded a gender identity clinic in 1974, which he continues to lead as co-director. The legal teams are asking the Circuit Court in Dane County for a temporary order to halt the policy. The district policy, ADF said, "instructs school teachers and staff to assist and encourage children of any age in the adoption of transgender identities without parental consent or even notice. The policy even instructs district employees to deceive parents about the gender identity their son or daughter has adopted at school." The lawyers explained: "In addition to pressing for school officials to hold to principles of basic honesty and transparency when dealing with parents—which is also needed to meet standards of informed consent—Levine’s 50-page affidavit also discusses the massive outcome differences between the available approaches for treating children who show signs of discomfort with their biological sex. "For example, multiple studies have reported that among children who experience gender dysphoria or transgender identification but do not socially transition, 80% to 98% 'desisted,' or became comfortable with their biological sex, by young adulthood. By contrast, recent data suggests that among boys 'who engaged in a partial or complete social transition before puberty,' fewer than 20% had desisted when surveyed at age 15 or older." Schools get paid to educate nothing else.  https://www.wnd.com/2020/02/school-launches-secret-program-turn-kids-trans-without-telling-parents/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=wnd-breaking&utm_campaign=breaking&utm_content=breaking

Leftists Have a Meltdown After Justice
Sotomayor Claims Her Colleagues Are Biased

{ townhall.com } ~ The Supreme Court on Friday issued a 5-4 ruling upholding the Trump administration's public charge rule... which withholds green cards from immigrants that are dependant on government welfare programs. Typically, the government looks at cash assistance programs but the Trump administration recently expanded that rule to include non-cash assistance programs, like food stamps, the Washington Free Beacon reported. The policy follows under the Immigration and Nationality Act and makes a legal immigrant ineligible for a green card if they are deemed “likely at any time to become a public charge." Justice Sonia Sotomayor filed a dissenting opinion, at which point she accused her conservative colleagues on the court of having a bias that favors the Trump administration. “Today’s decision follows a now-familiar pattern. The Government seeks emergency relief from this Court, asking it to grant a stay where two lower courts have not. The Government insists—even though review in a court of appeals is imminent—that it will suffer irreparable harm if this Court does not grant a stay. And the Court yields," Sotomayor wrote. "Claiming one emergency after another, the Government has recently sought stays in an unprecedented number of cases, demanding immediate attention and consuming limited Court resources in each. And with each successive application, of course, its cries of urgency ring increasingly hollow," her opinion read. "Indeed, its behavior relating to the public-charge rule in particular shows how much its own definition of irreparable harm has shifted. Having first sought a stay in the New York cases based, in large part, on the purported harm created by a nationwide injunction, it now disclaims that rationale and insists that the harm is its temporary inability to enforce its goals in one State." It's interesting that Sotomayor is okay with "the Resistance's" unprecedented use of the nationwide injunction to fight the administration at every step. She seems completely fine with judges instantly blocking the Trump administration but takes issue with Trump seeking immediate relief himself...  https://townhall.com/tipsheet/bethbaumann/2020/02/22/leftists-have-a-meltdown-after-justice-sotomayor-claims-her-colleagues-are-biased-n2561732?utm_source=thdailypm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl_pm&newsletterad=&bcid=7220442bc3498cb5e2d68f3cb4d11680&recip=18305623

Mike Didn't Get It Done

The only thing that can be said about former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s first appearance with his fellow Democratic presidential candidates in Las Vegas Wednesday night was that Mike did not get it done, as his campaign ads promise he will if he becomes president.

He was boring, expressionless and could not defend himself against past racist, sexist and misogynistic comments, including one mentioned by Elizabeth dinky/liar-Warren, who said Bloomberg once referred to women as “fat broads” and “horse-faced lesbians.” He also refused to release women who worked for him from sexual harassment nondisclosure agreements, apparently because that would reveal even more of his outrageous behavior than is already known.

While President Trump was mentioned a few times, most of the “debate” was about the candidates carving up and interrupting each other. Watching it made it sound like there is nothing good about America, homelessness is a national plague (mostly in cities and states run by Democrats, which the moderators failed to mention), and according to some of the candidates, most people are unhappy with their health insurance and want the government to take over.

Democrats call it “Medicare for all,” but it is the single-payer option, a government-run insurance program, which likely means the federal government will in effect become your doctor, deciding who gets care and who doesn’t, who ultimately lives or dies, based on age and diagnosis, and whether you take more from the treasury than you contribute in taxes.

Much of the second hour of the debate focused on the cult of “climate change,” which most Democrats seem to believe in more than they believe in God. The overpopulated panel of moderators failed to ask Bloomberg about a Fox News report (perhaps because they hate all things Fox) that a program funded by Bloomberg pays the salaries of lawyers in the offices of some state attorneys general to “pursue climate-based litigation.”

According to the Daily Wire, a conservative news and opinion site, “The arrangement, which currently pays the salaries of Special Assistant Attorneys General in 10 Democratic AG offices,” the Fox report found, “is drawing new scrutiny now that Bloomberg is running for president. The New York University School of Law’s State Energy & Environmental Impact Center, which was started in 2017 with $5.6 million from Bloomberg’s nonprofit, hires mid-career lawyers as ‘research fellows’ before providing them to state AGs where they assist in pursuing ‘progressive’ policy goals through the courts.”

A number of Republican attorneys general, the Daily Wire reported, “have raised concerns about Bloomberg’s funding of government lawyers, especially since he began his 2020 campaign.” It quoted West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey: “This is a fundamental question of ethics and who’s running our government. When you actually get to place someone under a specific agenda and then pay them and they’re within the office, that starts to call into question whether there are multiple masters within an attorney general office and that starts to really stink.”

Bloomberg appears to be using his considerable wealth in ways other than paying for those ubiquitous TV ads. If his record as mayor of New York City is any indication of how he would behave as president, he should not even be allowed in the tourist line at the White House, unless you are comfortable with government telling you how large a soft drink you can consume, whether salt should be available at restaurants and you are fine with your guns being taken away, along with other constitutionally protected liberties.

While Bloomberg’s money might keep him on political life-support, his credibility as a presidential candidate took a major hit Wednesday night from which he is unlikely to recover.   ~The Patriot Post
