The Election Results Are In ... Now Govern

by Robin Smith:  Remember the head explosions of the media, liar-Hillary Clinton and even Republican gasps of indignation when Donald Trump, the GOP presidential nominee, honestly answered in an October 2016 debate that he could not commit to accept the election outcome unconditionally? liar-Hillary screeched how “horrifying” it was for him to denigrate “democracy” in America. Yet Trump’s answer was based on reports of irregularities in polling places, which even included illegal immigrants casting votes.
The grasp of reality of the election results still seems elusive to the Left. Even for many within the GOP, whose objective is seemingly re-election rather than principled policy rooted in conservative governance, it’s abundantly clear that ignoring American voters is their plan.
While liar-Hillary resurfaces, again, with a new book, “What Happened,” the tome itself as well as her promotions point to an embittered blame-shifter whose coronation was ground to a halt by a political novice promising to drain the swamp of Washington and eliminate the status quo. White House Special Advisor Kellyanne Conway referenced in several news interviews last week her knowledge that Democrats “just want liar-Hillary to disappear [and] go away.” In June, The Hill published a piece with the open statement, “Democrats say they’d like liar-Hillary Clinton to take a cue from former President liar-nObama and step out of the spotlight.”
Meanwhile, Democrats, operating in the minority in the House and Senate, maneuver to muck up any legislative progress. But the facts are pretty simple: If the GOP members of Congress would stick together, the role of Democrats would be almost negligible.
Oh, but don’t be shocked that Republicans are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by embarrassingly flailing in disunity and dysfunction.
The refrain coming from Republican voters is loud, unanimous and growing in frustration that for seven years, day after day, fundraising emails, letters, campaign mail for candidates, social media posts, everything declared that once the GOP had the majority and the White House, liar-nObamaCare would be repealed and replaced with a solution that took government’s federal grip off the doctor-patient relationship, returned choice and control to patients and addressed the soaring costs of health services.
We all know what actually happened. The House strained to pass a bill despite having 240 Republican members to 194 Democrats. Then the Senate, using the reconciliation budget rules to leverage a simple majority, failed by one vote, despite having 52 Republicans, with the 53rd being Vice President Mike Pence.
Not only did seven years pass with member after member voicing their pledges in campaign material to repeal liar-nObamaCare, but America watched as a GOP House and Senate did nothing, zippo, to stop Barack liar-nObama’s open border policies. Now, after the unquestionable support of the American public for a physical wall to be built in certain areas along our southern border, the GOP congressional leadership is withholding support by excluding it from the continuing resolution needed to raise the federal debt ceiling.
Then we see that tax reform was deemed a “priority” by the Republicans who, like House Speaker Paul Ryan, viewed this as a lynchpin to the success of an economic turn-around to not just halt the excessive taxation but to stimulate growth, encourage hiring and improve wages. Yet nothing’s been done on that front either.
But let’s quickly look back at a January 11, 2017 article from The Hill, “What Congress Could Do in Trump’s first 100 days.” Please notice, appropriately, Congress is connoted as the body with the jurisdiction to formulate legislation. Congress was indeed touting its planned agenda and accomplishments to mirror that of the Trump agenda, even within the first 100 days of the new Republican administration.
In the piece prospecting the new agenda, Cristina Marcos catalogues first liar-nObamaCare, then tax reform, followed by infrastructure spending, reversing liar-nObama-era regulations and, finally, immigration, which included the construction of a border wall.
The first sentences of the analysis read, “Congress is readying for a full-on sprint once President-elect Donald Trump takes office next week. Republicans are hoping to capitalize on Trump’s momentum during his first 100 days to enact a host of legislation. Repealing liar-nObamaCare is first on the docket, while funding an expansion of the ‘big, beautiful wall’ along the Mexican border famously promised by Trump could be the critical period’s grand finale.”
Donald Trump’s agenda has not changed. The invertebrate members of the House and Senate who have developed collective amnesia to go with their inability to stand erect are clear obstacles. As long as they were only reading talking points and casting votes on bills that would never be signed into law, many Republicans were on board.
Well, the election results are in. America spoke loudly and expects a certain set of policies implemented. No, America didn’t vote for Donald Trump hoping he’d change his demeanor and become like the more polished and refined Beltway Elite of the swamp. Americans want promises kept and a Republican House, Senate and White House to govern using conservative, principled policies.

{dailywire.com} ~ Amidst apparent riots in Berkeley by Antifa members, the Berkeley police once again stood aside and allowed violence to flourish... On Sunday, police in Berkeley maintained a strict perimeter around the area in the beginning of the afternoon, including enforcing an emergency city rule outlawing sticks and other potential weapons from the park. Fifty officers were spread out at the area’s four entrances, according to the Daily Californian. But antifa protesters — armed with sticks and shields and clad in shin pads and gloves — largely routed the security checks and by 1:30 p.m. police reportedly left the security line at the Center Street and Milvaia Street entrance to the park. Berkeley Police Chief Andrew Greenwood told the AP the decision was strategic — a confrontation was sure to spark more violence between the protesters and police...Exactly would happen if enforcement by police was enforced.  http://www.dailywire.com/news/20326/where-hell-are-police-berkeley-ben-shapiro?utm_source=shapironewsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=082817-news-title&utm_campaign=lead

Soros Caught In $7 Billion IRS Scandal
{foxnews.com} ~ Mr. Soros has been using a loophole that was closed in the U.S. in 2008 in order to avoid paying some taxes. Soros used this closed loophole to defer taxes on client fees. He used this illicit money to invest in his tax-free fund... If found guilty of these improprieties, Soros could face an IRS bill worth $7 billion. The money that Soros made from abusing this loophole apparently amounted to $13.3 billion. More galling is the fact that Soros’ illicit money was kept in accounts stationed in Ireland. Amazingly, all of this news about Mr. Soros’ tax avoidance originally came to light in 2015. Since then, alternative media sources have found no evidence that Soros has paid his debts...  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/05/01/george-soros-reportedly-could-face-up-to-7b-tax-bill-after-delaying-payment-for.html

{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ The Muslim Brotherhood has penetrated every one of our national security agencies, including our intelligence agencies, according to retired Navy admiral James "Ace" Lyons, former commander of the U.S. Pacific fleet...  Adm. Lyons made this startling declaration Jan. 16, 2015 during a conference sponsored by the Center for Security Policy, a conservative Washington, D.C. think-tank. In the two years since, no action has been taken to reverse this dangerous situation.  Empowerment of individuals of questionable loyalties within our intelligence community continues unabated, as does a counterfactual view of Islam and thwarting of terrorist investigations...  http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/national-security-cover-ups-missteps-and-miscalculations?f=must_reads

The myth of Mary Tyler Moore-ing Muslim women

{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ While actress Mary Tyler Moore passed away earlier this year, her 1970s show represented a television programing breakthrough. The central character was the first portrayal ever of a never-married, independent career woman rather than simply a man's wife...The show's success was driven by Mary's independent spirit, displayed in its weekly opening scene. It became such an iconic symbol of female independence, a statue of Moore stands today at the site of its filming in Minneapolis. In the scene, a gleeful Mary, having toured the city, is shown tossing her tam up into the air. This perception of independence has not been lost upon Muslim producers of a recent, and most remarkable, music video. Very professionally done, it is remarkable because the producers are not mainstream Muslims, but fundamentalists. As such, they are, normally, vehemently opposed to such videos. Rarely is any criticism about Islam voiced from among young Westerners. This primarily stems from knowing very little about the religion and, therefore, lacking any basis for offering criticism...  http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/the-myth-of-mary-tyler-moore-ing-muslim-women?f=must_reads

by Arnold Ahlert:  The American Left’s determination to make everything about politics is proceeding apace.
The latest insanity emanates from the world of sports — or what used to be the world of sports until progressives decided everything can serve as a bully pulpit for lectures or demonstrations from the nation’s social justice warriors in the broadcast booth or on the field.
Thus, interim NCAA President Derrick Johnson wants to meet with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss unemployed quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Johnson asserts Kaepernick’s protest “is well within the National Football League’s stated bylaws” and that his failure to be taken by any team “is no sheer coincidence.” Johnson misses the point — twice.
First, free speech is not “consequence free” speech. Whether leftists like it or not, people can be held accountable for the things they say and do.
And who’s kidding whom? When it aligns with their ideological sensibilities, leftists do like holding people accountable. People like former Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich, who was forced to resign six years after he contributed $1,000 to support the since-overturned 2008 same-sex marriage ban in California. Or former Harvard president Larry Summers, who lost his job for daring to suggest there might be minor differences in aptitude between men and women working in the STEM fields. Or Google engineer James Damore, who was driven from his job for decrying the company’s “politically correct monoculture.”
Second, no one is obligated to offer any quarterback a position on an NFL roster, much less one whose talent has declined to the point where he lost his starting position. That decline, plus his potentially fan-alienating assertion that he is “not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” or one where cops are “getting paid leave and getting away with murder,” may not matter to the self-appointed doyens of politically correct racial politics, but for football teams, football — both as a sport and a business — is their primary focus.
Or as Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy puts it, Kaepernick’s “situation is not good enough to have him on the team with all the attention that comes along with it.”
Such obvious realities also elude NAACP New York State President Hazel Dukes. She declares the NFL is putting league interests ahead of social issues. (Imagine that!) “Right now,” she insists, “the action of the league seems to imply to young black men that this league, which is comprised of 70 percent African Americans, only values Black lives if they are wearing a football uniform.”
Dukes, like so many leftists, loves to embrace logical fallacies. If Kaepernick isn’t hired, or the same kind of private business (according to the Supreme Court) as Mozilla, Harvard or Google decides to hold any other player accountable for his actions, those responses are inherently racist. And as Dukes herself implies, embracing the “value” of black lives means embracing #BLM and the requisite anti-police, white “privilege” dogma.
If the NFL were to #Resist? “There will be no football in the state of Georgia if Colin Kaepernick is not on a training camp roster and given an opportunity to pursue his career,” declared Gerald Griggs of the Atlanta NAACP at a news conference. “This is not a simple request. This is a statement. This is a demand.”
Granted, the NFL deserves zero sympathy. It could have nipped this nonsense in the bud, but chose instead to embrace the intrusion of progressive politics into football. And while Goodall denied it had anything whatsoever to do with the league’s plummeting ratings last year, a J.D. Powers survey revealed anthem protests were the number one reason for the decline. And it’s likely to get worse, because the number of players involved in these demonstrations is increasing. The higher the visibility, the greater the fan alienation.
Leftists are also determined to maintain the narrative of Kaepernick’s folk hero status to the point of absurdity. “Free agent NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick will be featured in a Black Lives Matter collection at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, museum curators announced this weekend,” The Daily Signal reports.
What else does it report? “Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, the nation’s longest-serving black justice, remains absent from the museum.” Thus, an America-contemptuous, second-string quarterback is an historical icon while a conservative Supreme Court Justice is an Orwellian-like non-entity.
A museum dedicated to African-American History and Culture? A temple of progressive propaganda is more like it.
Speaking of progressive propaganda temples — and more PC-motivated insanity — ESPN yanked Asian-American announcer Robert Lee off the William and Mary at University of Virginia college football game “because of the coincidence of his name,” the network announced in a statement. “In that moment it felt right to all parties. It’s a shame that this is even a topic of conversation and we regret that who calls play by play for a football game has become an issue.”
An issue for whom? The cadre of hypersensitive left-wing zealots engaged in the ISIS-like destruction of historical artifacts that “offend” them? People so IQ-challenged they would conflate an Asian-American college football announcer with a Confederate general who died in 1870?
ESPN President John Skipper was apparently feeling the self-inflicted heat, yet his attempt to clarify what occurred was even more ludicrous. Lee was not removed because network execs were worried about offending people. “Among our Charlotte production staff there was a question as to whether — in these divisive times — Robert’s assignment might create a distraction, or even worse, expose him to social hectoring and trolling,” stated Skipper in an internal memo. Skipper further insisted Lee expressed “some personal trepidation about the [Charlottesville] assignment” and that the “good intentions of our Charlotte colleagues have been intentionally hijacked by someone with a personal agenda.”
Since Skipper took over in 2012, ESPN’s agenda has been hijacked to the point where it has been force-feeding its audience a steady diet of social justice issues so politically correct, it even apologized for running a live fantasy football draft likened to a slave auction by leftists trolls.
And like the NFL, it is paying the price: Since 2013, the sports network has lost 10 million subscribers.
Progressive writer Freddie deBoer illuminates the primary problem. “Go to any space concerned with social justice and what will you find? Endless surveillance,” he writes. “Everybody is to be judged.”
And therein lies progressivism’s Achilles Heel: all-encompassing and increasingly judgmental demands for “purity” that become impossible for even the most dedicated social justice warriors to meet.
Remarkably, neither the NFL nor ESPN seem to understand that most fans turn to sports to escape politics. Millions of people who tune in to watch football or sports reporting will tune out when confronted with virtue-signaling one-percenters demonstrating their “solidarity” with progressive America-bashers.
In short, Americans are getting disgusted with the unsportsmanlike conduct infesting the world of sports.
