More Potemkin Indictments From Helsinki’s Would-Be Saboteurs

{ spectator.org } ~ On Friday — three days before today’s summit meeting between President Trump and Russian President Putin... the boss of Team Mueller, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, announced that a dozen Russian intelligence officers had been indicted on charges relating to Russia’s attempt to interfere in the 2016 election. These Potemkin indictments could have been announced a month earlier or a month later. Instead they were obviously timed and intended to have an effect on the Trump-Putin meeting. Mueller has no business playing around with foreign policy. The Friday indictments were a truly despicable abuse of power. Last February, Mueller conducted a dress rehearsal for the Friday indictments. Then, his grand jury indicted three Russian individuals and thirteen Russian companies for posing as U.S. persons, creating false U.S. personas, and operating social media pages and groups designed to attract U.S. audiences, all in furtherance of Russia’s attempt to interfere in the election. Under our judicial system, defendants can’t be tried in absentia. Individuals have to appear personally although corporations can appear by counsel. Because Russia never extradites its citizens for trial, fifteen of the sixteen February defendants were neither extradited nor chose to appear willingly in U.S. district court...  https://spectator.org/more-potemkin-indictments-from-helsinkis-would-be-saboteurs/?utm_source=American+Spectator+Emails&utm_campaign=4d7862d621-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_07_16_08_39&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_797a38d487-4d7862d621-104608113

{ washingtontimes.com } ~ President Trump confronted Russian President Vladimir Putin about hacking the U.S. election... and Mr. Putin again denied his country’s involvement. Mr. Putin also offered to work with the U.S. analyzing the cyber attacks. Both men said the topic was discussed at their meeting Monday in Helsinki. Mr. Trump said he addressed the issue “directly with President Putin.” “I felt this was a message best delivered in person, and spent a great deal of time talking about it,” Mr. Trump said at a joint press conference following the summit. He added cryptically that his Russian counterpart “has an interesting idea” about it. Mr. Putin said he reiterated to the president, “The Russian state has never interfered and is not going to interfere” in U.S elections.

Fox News’ John Roberts: ‘Avalanche
Of You-Know-What’ After Trump-Putin Presser

{ dailycaller.com } ~ Fox News reporter John Roberts tweeted Monday that President Trump is facing an “avalanche of you-know-what”... after his presser with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump was widely criticized after the public press conference in Helsinki, Finland, for disparaging the United States and for seeming too weak on Russia’s election meddling. Roberts joined the chorus of dissenters, expressing shock at the wild presser and guessing that Trump would be facing a torrent of anger for his performance. “Whoa,” Roberts tweeted. “There is an avalanche of you-know-what rolling downhill at warp speed toward @realDonaldTrump over this summit. Republicans — even the dummycrats-DNI — are throwing bucketsful at him.”...

Who Kept Putting Strzok in Charge?

{ spectator.org } ~ Let no one say Peter Strzok failed to prove interference into the U.S. presidential election by an intelligence agency... The more zealously Strzok pursued the idea of Russian collusion with the Trump campaign, the more convinced observers became that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), to include disgraced former acting director Andrew McCabe, attorney Lisa Page, and agent Peter Strzok, actively sought to hijack the 2016 presidential election. When the police tell the babysitter, “We’ve traced the call… it’s coming from inside the house,” it frightens all the more because a peril within catches one off guard more than stranger danger. Peter Strzok scares more than Vladimir Putin because we expect the boogeyman to appear in foreign lands. When the monster comes from inside the house, pants-wetting time arrives.  Russia interfering in your country’s election does not terrify as much as your country becoming Russia. Strzok changing “grossly negligent” to “extreme carelessness” in James Comey’s report on the liar-Hillary Clinton email scandal, his role in securing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court warrant to spy on an American citizen volunteering for a campaign that he opposed, and his use of a former foreign intelligence agent’s dirt-digging — funded by the liar-Clinton campaign — on Trump to open investigations strike as if not all KGB tactics than at least Banana Republic ones...

{ dailycaller.com } ~ dummycrats-Democratic Tennessee Rep. scumbag-Steve Cohen on Monday called for the “military folks” to save America from President Donald Trump... after Trump’s much-criticized press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Where are our military folks? The Commander in Chief is in the hands of our enemy!” scumbag- Cohen wrote on Twitter, using language suggestive of a military coup. scumbag-Cohen later said that he was in no way calling for a coup. “No coup called for,” he wrote, claiming it unlikely that someone would call for a coup on Twitter. scumbag-Cohen’s bizarre tweet was similar to one from former liar-nObama CIA Director scumbag-John Brennan, who claimed on Monday that Trump’s press conference was “treasonous.”...   http://dailycaller.com/2018/07/16/congressman-military-stop-trump/?utm_medium=email

Don't Blame U.S. for Rising Carbon Emissions

by Jordan Candler:  “Global CO2 emissions from energy in 2017 grew by 1.6%,” a new BP report reveals, “rebounding from the stagnant volumes during 2014-2016, and faster than the 10-year average of 1.3%.” No doubt climate alarmists will latch onto this new report to foment outrage and chicanery. But there’s one major nation against which their anger shouldn’t be directed: the U.S. According to the report:
Declines were led by the US (-0.5%). This is the ninth time in this century that the US has had the largest decline in emissions in the world. This also was the third consecutive year that emissions in the US declined, though the fall was the smallest over the last three years. Carbon emissions from energy use from the US are the lowest since 1992. … The largest increase in carbon emissions in 2017 came from China (1.6%), a reversal from the past three years when the largest increases in emissions came from India. … The next highest increment came from India where emissions rose by 4.4%, though lower than its 10-year average (6% p.a.). Together, China and India accounted for nearly half of the increase in global carbon emissions. EU emissions were also up (1.5%) with just Spain accounting for 44% of the increase in EU emissions.

Investor’s Businesses Daily relays other relevant info, “The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s latest energy report notes that, from 2005 to 2017, U.S. energy related emissions of carbon dioxide plunged by 861 million metric tons, a 14% drop. It’s both a result of the decline due to the Great Recession and the fracking revolution. … Over the same period, how did the rest of the world do? Emissions rose by 21% to 6.04 billion metric tons over the 12 years, mostly due to booming economic growth in India and China, where coal-fired energy output continues to expand. The truth, and it’s proven by the hard data, is that CO2 made in the USA will not choke the world to death or cause it to massively overheat. And you can thank capitalism for that.
The American Enterprise Institute’s Mark Perry adds, “For that impressive ‘greening’ of America, we can thank the underground oceans of America’s natural gas that are now accessible because of the revolutionary, advanced drilling and extraction technologies of hydraulic fracturing and horizontal/directional drilling, and are increasingly displacing coal for the nation’s electricity generation.” The climate alarmists’ carbon-emissions ire is just as misdirected as their global warming dogma and Paris climate accord advocacy are foolish.
