"The purpose of government is to secure those rights against any tyranny that would take them away whether again of one or many or what have you. We've now got a significant portion of our population that thinks the purpose of government is otherwise to redistribute rights to take from some and give to others. The founders understood that to be the very definition of injustice or an unjust law," said Eastman, who is the Henry Salvatori professor of law & community service at Chapman University Fowler School of Law. Eastman also said the dirty cop-Mueller investigation, the House Judiciary Committee's actions, and politically motivated judges were challenging not only the results of the 2016 election but the "very notion we govern ourselves." "And then this election and what we're seeing here not just with this investigation but with the broader investigations and the use of subpoenas and federal judges that had been nominated and confirmed by President scumbag/liar-nObama appointed by President scumbag/liar-nObama blocking this President's actions perfectly legitimate actions," Eastman told Levin. On Wednesday, House Judiciary Chairman scumbag liar-Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., declared a "constitutional crisis" after his committee voted to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt for defying a subpoena for Special Counsel dirty cop-Robert Mueller’s unredacted Russia report and underlying documents. Since the dirty cop-Mueller report was released, Democrats and Republicans have clashed over whether or not Trump obstructed justice and Barr's summary interpretation. { dailycaller.com } ~ The scumbag/liar-nObama White House kept tabs on a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for information on former Secretary of State scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton’s email accounts... that the State Department improperly denied, according to newly released emails. The emails, which were provided to Judicial Watch, show for the first time that the scumbag/liar-nObama White House was aware of the scumbag/liar-Clinton-related FOIA request, which the liberal watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) submitted to the State Department in December 2012. The State Department denied the request in May 2013, claiming that no responsive records existed. That despite officials at the State Department, the White House and even President scumbag/liar-nObama himself knowing that scumbag/liar-Clinton used a personal email account for government business. The State Department’s inspector general determined in a report released on Jan. 7, 2016 that the State Department’s denial of the CREW request was “inaccurate and incomplete.” It is not clear from the emails why the White House was interested in the request. But Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton has a theory. “These documents suggest the scumbag/liar-nObama White House knew about the scumbag/liar-Clinton email lies being told to the public at least as early as December 2012,” he said in a statement.“The scumbag/liar-nObama White House orchestrated the scumbag/liar-Clinton email cover-up,” he added. Several FOIA requests were filed for information on scumbag/liar-Clinton’s email accounts during her tenure at the State Department, which ended Feb. 1, 2013. { dailycaller.com } ~ A federal judge in Washington, D.C., is speeding up a dispute between congressional Democrats and President Donald Trump over a subpoena for records... from the president’s accounting firm, Mazars USA. U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta said in a new order that he will decide the case after a May 14 hearing, far earlier than initially anticipated. The accelerated pace could give the House Committee on Oversight and Reform access to Trump’s accounting records sooner than they had hoped, should Mehta rule in their favor. “The sole question before the court — is the House Oversight Committee’s issuance of a subpoena to Mazars USA LLP for financial records of President Trump and various associated entities a valid exercise of legislative power? — is fully briefed, and the court can discern no benefit from an additional round of legal arguments,” Mehta wrote. “Nor is there an obvious need to delay ruling on the merits to allow for development of the factual record.” Mehta’s order gives all sides until Monday afternoon to object to his decision to put the case on the fast track. The Oversight Committee issued a subpoena to Mazars on April 15 after hearing testimony from Michael Cohen, a onetime Trump confidant. Cohen told the panel that the president and his accountants inflated his assets or omitted liabilities to meet his current needs, like acquiring a new entity or dodging real estate taxes. In turn, the president sued Mazars and top Democrats on the Oversight Committee to prevent disclosure of the records. Trump and his attorneys say Democrats are pursuing the accounting records as part of a partisan fishing expedition, making the subpoena illegitimate. Congressional subpoenas must be connected to a “legitimate legislative purpose.”... { dailycaller.com } ~ Illegal immigrants have staged six mass escapes at a Mexican immigration detention center on the country’s southern border in under six weeks... Roughly two dozen Cuban immigrants escaped after rushing the gates and overwhelming the guards at the Siglo XXI station in Tapachula, Chiapas, on Sunday, Mexican media outlets reported. A Reuters photographer on scene captured the mass escape as well. One photo shows a federal police officer standing and watching as migrants run past her. Tapachula sits near Mexico’s southern border with Guatemala, making it a pressure point in the ongoing immigration crisis. The detention center has been the site of ongoing protests and riots from detainees and activists over deportations, alleged mistreatment and poor living conditions. Sunday’s revolt marked the sixth mass escape at the center since April, Mexican media outlets reported. Roughly 100 Cuban immigrants escaped the detention center on May 7 and another 90 Cuban immigrants fled on May 4, according to Mexican media and officials. Those mass escapes pale in comparison to the one on April 25, when roughly 1,300 immigrants bolted from the detention center. Riots have become common at the Siglo XXI center as well. Cuban and African immigrants staged a riot on April 10 to prevent authorities from carrying out deportations....

China 'Broke' Deal on U.S. Trade Talks
Political Editors: Effective at 12:01 ET this morning, President Donald Trump raised tariffs from 10% to 25% on $200 billion in Chinese imports — a move that surprised many who had assumed a new trade agreement was close at hand. “They broke the deal,” Trump asserted, adding, “so they’re flying in, the vice premier … is flying in — good man — but they broke the deal. They can’t do that, so they’ll be paying.”
Reuters reports that upon receiving a diplomatic cable from Beijing late last Friday of the nearly 150-page draft agreement, it became apparent to the Trump administration that “systematic edits” had been made and “the document was riddled with reversals by China that undermined core U.S. demands.”
Reuters further reports, “In each of the seven chapters of the draft trade deal, China had deleted its commitments to change laws to resolve core complaints that caused the United States to launch a trade war: Theft of U.S. intellectual property and trade secrets; forced technology transfers; competition policy; access to financial services; and currency manipulation.”
To put it simply, the Chinese are not negotiating in good faith, and Trump believes he knows why. “The reason for the China pullback & attempted renegotiation of the Trade Deal is the sincere HOPE that they will be able to ‘negotiate’ with loose lips-Joe Biden or one of the very weak Democrats, and thereby continue to ripoff the United States ($500 Billion a year) for years to come.” That said, Trump has still left the door open for further negotiations, noting that Chinese Vice Premier Liu was “now coming to the U.S. to make a deal.” Maybe Beijing will take the president more seriously now. ~The Patriot Post
