Many American Jews Need to Atone

for Their Sins against Donald Trump

{ americanthinker.com } ~ America has seen many presidents who have been good to Israel and the Jewish people. None has been better than Donald Trump... Beyond doubt, he has done unmatched and extraordinary things for Israel and has publicly spoken against anti-Semitism in the United Nations and repeatedly during his State of the Union addresses. The whole world has seen the priority Mr. Trump bestows on Israel and safety for Jews. Additionally, he and his father were tremendous friends and benefactors to Jews and Israel, much prior to his entering politics. Yet the establishment Jewish organizations and temples have too often falsely maligned him, and liberal American Jewry about 70% of American Jewry have been his most vocal critics. Actually, they are in the forefront against him, as often seen on television, in articles, and in speeches from non-orthodox rabbis on the pulpit. Even among regular liberal Jews, the railing against Mr. Trump is incessant, hysterical, mean, and full of hate. All of this constitutes gross, unprecedented ingratitude. Jewish Tradition frowns on ingratitude, indeed calls it a sin. Many in the secular Jewish community do not consider their attitude ungrateful inasmuch as support for Israel is no longer important to them, and they seem undaunted when anti-Semitism comes from the political Left their home, or from social justice warriors and certain "minorities." What they consider good for Jews most often has nothing to do with Jewish need at all, but rather a universalist agenda at odds with Jewish survival. In their zeal to destroy and remove Mr. Trump from the presidency, they have gone beyond ingratitude to downright lying about him, scheming against him, and throwing normal fairness and decency out the window. Yom Kippur, the annual Day of Atonement, falls this week. One of the most prominent prayers is "for the sins we have committed," a list of grievous sins that may apply to the penitent, thereby requiring atonement. Thus, now may be the best and most appropriate time to review the sins many within the Jewish community continue to wage against President Trump. Perhaps they should begin some reflection and introspection regarding their three years of ferocious attacks and lies against a man who loves Israel and America and longs for Jewish individuals and children to be safe from terrorism. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) pushed back strongly on Thursday night against President Trump's suggestion that the Chinese government investigate former Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden... Sasse's remarks mark the strongest pushback from a Senate Republican since Trump on Thursday publicly encouraged Ukraine and China should look into the loose lips liar-Bidens. According to web archives, top rino-Mitt Romney adviser Joseph Cofer Black, who publicly goes by “Cofer Black,” joined Burisma’s board of directors while Hunter loose lips liar-Biden was also serving on the board. According to The New Yorker, Hunter joined Burisma’s board in April of 2014 and remained on it until he declined to renew his position this past May. Meanwhile, according to Burisma’s website, Black was appointed in February of 2017 and continues to serve on its board. The timelines would indicate that Black and loose lips liar-Biden worked together at Burisma, and indeed, web archives from late 2017 show Black and loose lips liar-Biden listed simultaneously on the board. Black joined the CIA in 1974 and eventually climbed the ranks to become director of the National Counterterrorism Center from 1999 to 2002. In 2002, President George W. Bush appointed him ambassador at large and coordinator for counterterrorism. He later worked at Blackwater as a vice chairman before joining rino-Romney’s campaign as a “special adviser” on rino-Romney’s Foreign Policy and National Security Advisory Team in October of 2011. In 2017, Black joined the board of Burisma. It’s looking increasingly probable that Burisma, the subject of a series of corruption allegations in the past, has been smartly buying Western complacency by slapping a few famous names on its board. ABC’s Bombshell Ukraine Story Falls Apart

ABC credited its scoop to Serhiy Leshchenko, a former member of Ukraine's parliament and former adviser to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. Leshchenko now disputes the story, denying he told ABC News that discussion of a potential probe into the loose lips liar-Biden family's business activity in the country was a precondition for communication with Trump. ABC quoted Leshchenko as saying, "it was a clear fact that Trump wants to meet only if loose lips liar-Biden case will be included." According to ABC, he added that the loose lips liar-Biden case was "raised many times" and "Ukrainian officials understood." Leshchenko rejected the ABC story just hours after it was published, telling Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Christopher Miller that he "DID NOT tell ABC insistence for leaders to discuss loose lips liar-Biden probe was precondition for call." Leshchenko also spoke to BBC's Jonah Fisher, who added that the former Ukrainian official learned of "quid pro quo" rumors "only from media reports." He was not advising Zelensky during the July 25 call between Zelensky and Trump. Several major outlets, including Axios and the Hill, jumped on ABC's scoop. Most recently, Father Valentine Obinna, a priest of the Aba diocese of Nigeria, attributed the ongoing slaughter of Christians to the planned "Islamization of Nigeria": "People read the handwriting on the wall. It's obvious. It's underground. It's trying to make the whole country a Muslim country. But they are trying to do that in a context with a strong presence of Christians, and that's why it becomes very difficult for him [Buhari]." Nigeria is roughly half Muslim, half Christian. A 2011 ABC News report offers context on when and why Muslim anger reached a boiling point: The current wave of Muslim riots was triggered by the Independent National Election Commission's (INEC) announcement on Monday April 18, 2011 that the incumbent President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan a Christian, won in the initial round of ballot counts. That there were riots in the largely Muslim inhabited northern states where the defeat of the Muslim candidate Muhammadu Buhari was intolerable, was unsurprising. Northerners Muslims felt they were entitled to the presidency for the declared winner, President Jonathan, who assumed leadership after the Muslim president, Umaru Yar'Adua died in office last year and radical groups in the north Boko Haram had seen his Jonathan's ascent as a temporary matter to be corrected at this year's election. Now they are angry despite experts and observers concurring that this is the fairest and most independent election in recent Nigerian history. Between 2011 and 2015, Boko Haram — a jihadi group that committed ISIS-types of atrocities even before ISIS came into being — terrorized and slaughtered thousands of Christians, particularly those living in the Muslim-majority north. In 2015, Nigeria's Muslims finally got what they wanted: a Muslim president in the person of Muhammadu Buhari. The violence, however, only got worse. Iran Issues Death Sentence

Iranian courts also issued jail terms of up to 10 years for individuals Tehran accuses of spying for the United States and the United Kingdom. Iranian prosecutors in the country's notoriously corrupt legal system have requested that the accused U.S. spies be killed for their alleged crimes. One accused spy, Ali Nafariyeh, "has been sentenced to 10 years of prison and fined with the payment of $55,000 for spying for the CIA benefit," Gholamhossein Esmayeeli, a spokesman for Iran's judiciary, announced on Tuesday in Tehran, according to the country's state-controlled press. Another accused spy, Mohammad Babapour, is set to receive a similar sentence. "Another individual, namely Amir Nasab, has also been sentenced to 10 years in prison for spying for Britain," Esmayeeli said. The individual sentenced to death has appealed the decision to Iran's court, though it remains unclear if Tehran will stay the execution. The debate about political power and authority among those who profess the Christian faith has raged since the 1st century. In modern America, the debate raged throughout Jimmy Carter’s presidency and more recently through the presidencies of scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton and Barack scumbag/liar-nObama. The debate now looms large for Donald Trump.

Newsweek magazine labeled 1976 “The Year of the Evangelical” because of Carter’s openness about his faith. At the time, commentators claimed that conservative Christians had finally found “a place at the table.” The marriage of church and state seemed to have been consummated.

There are three camps in which contemporary Christians have assembled. In one, these Christians believe God is on the side of pro-life, “values voting” Republicans. This begs the question – is God on holiday when Democrats with different political views are elected?

The second camp composed of more politically liberal Christians believes Scripture has much to say about social justice. They tend to vote for Democrats, whether Christian or not, because those politicians advance their temporal agenda.

Camp three (really a subset of camp one) ignores President Trump’s history, language and behavior toward his political foes, believing he is God’s choice, though he has said he doesn’t feel the need to ask for God’s forgiveness (a prerequisite Scripture teaches for becoming a Christian). Critics of this camp excoriate them for hypocrisy based on their attacks on scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton’s character and behavior.

Who is right? Each has a point, but none is entirely correct.

For non-Christians reading this column, knowing what believers think might help toward a better understanding of them. Better still are the instructions in Scripture, largely ignored or cherry-picked by all three camps when it comes to political power.

One verse states: “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God and those that exist have been instituted by God (Romans 13:1). That seems unequivocal.

Does "every” mean every to my friends who believe in the “inerrancy of Scripture,” or only to conservative Republicans? Paul wrote this when he was under the authority of political dictators in Rome and the religious authorities of his day, which were unfriendly to him and to Jesus of Nazareth, to say the least.

How do conservative Christians reconcile what the writer of Hebrews says with their singular devotion to Republican presidents? “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.” (Hebrews 13:17)

How many think President Trump, or any president, should be credited with keeping watch over their souls? And yet that’s what it says.

There is a strong case to be made for President Trump’s support of many issues that in some cases can be defended biblically, including judges who are pro-life. However, one should be careful about overt devotion that supersedes where Christians are supposed to put their sole trust and faith. It was He who said, “My kingdom is not of this world,” which is the ultimate declaration of where all power and authority lies.

Perhaps instead of trashing politicians they don’t like and revering other ones, politically conservative Christians should contemplate another powerful verse: “I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered on behalf of all men, for kings and all those in authority, so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior…” (1 Timothy 2:1-3)
