{ theconservativetreehouse.com } ~ President Trump appointed Ric Grenell to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the surprise appointment begins immediately. Within minutes the media intelligence apparatus displayed apoplexy at the announcement... All of the right administrative state interests are visibly triggered by the appointment; and it appears this could be a key turning point in President Trump’s push-back against the permanent intelligence apparatus that has targeted his administration for three years. It does not seem accidental the appointment of Ric Grenell as Acting DNI comes after AG Bill Barr publicly displayed his weakness in managing the DOJ and FBI. When the U.S. Attorney General chooses to complain about POTUS tweets making it “impossible to do his job” via public statements, the underlying message is an AG unwilling to do his job. The challenge for the Office of the Presidency has been executive leadership unwilling to confront visible corruption within the DOJ, FBI and Intelligence Community (IC). Failed executive leadership includes Jeff Sessions (DOJ), Rod Rosenstein (DOJ), Chris Wray (FBI), David Bowditch (FBI), Dana Boente (FBI), Michael Horowitz (OIG) Mike Pompeo (CIA), Gina Haspel (CIA), Michael Atkinson (DOJ-NSD/ICIG), Matt Whitaker (DOJ), Dan Coats (DNI), Rex Tillerson (DoS), James Mattis (DoD), the list is long.  The evidence of ongoing efforts to undermine the presidency have surfaced in everything from the FBI not addressing rampant politicization, to an Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson willing to facilitate an impeachment effort...

British MP: Palestinians must bring more

{ jpost.com } ~ The Palestinians must show they are serious about peace by seizing the “Deal of the Century” as a vehicle for progress rather than rejecting it... on the presumption that the international community has endless patience for their plight, visiting British Member of Parliament Stephen Crabb told The Jerusalem Post. “The understanding we are coming to is that the Palestinians have to bring something more to the table than just a plea for sympathy and cash. There has to be a pragmatic decision to talk the language of peace and to engage in a genuine and real process,” said Crabb who chairs the British parliamentary group Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI) for the House of Commons.  “Patience is running out,” he added. Crabb visited the region with a delegation of five CFI parliamentarians from the House of Commons and one CFI parliamentarian from the House of Lords. During their visit they meet with Israelis and Palestinians as a way of furthering their knowledge of the conflict.  On Wednesday, the group traveled to Ramallah, Rawabi and Jericho, where they met with PLO Secretary-General Saeb Erekat. They discussed US President Donald Trump’s peace plan, which was unveiled in January. The Palestinians have rejected the plan, which offers Israel 30% of the West Bank and most of Jerusalem. They want a plan based on the 1949-1967 armistice line, which would place all of the West Bank and east Jerusalem within the final borders of their future state. Britain has welcomed Trump’s efforts while holding to its acceptance of a two-state solution at the pre-1967 line. After meeting with CFI parliamentarians, Erekat tweeted: “We discussed the prospects of peace and security, and regional developments, in light of the Trump/Netanyahu annexation plan. I have reiterated State of Palestine’s firm position towards the Two State Solution Palestine and Israel on 1967 line.”...

{ dailystar.co.uk } ~ China has reportedly deployed 40 industrial incinerators to the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak Wuhan... Chinese media reports that the furnaces have been shipped to the city amid ongoing fears the death toll is being covered up. NTD reports that the cabins are for the disposal of animal carcasses, while China Ship news reports the incinerators are formedical waste. Wuhan has been at the centre of the global epidemic which has infected more than 75,000 people and killed more than 2,000. It is believed the virus spread from bats to other animals in the so-called “wet markets” in the city before being passed to humans. Sources quoted in Chinese media raise questions over whether or not the incinerators are for animals, or will be used to dispose of human remains. The mobile incinerators can reportedly destroy up to five tons of waste every single day – and can burn its load in as little as two seconds. Reportedly the cabin is the size of a 20-foot standard container and has a volume of about 30 cubic meters...   https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/world-news/china-deploys-40-incinerators-wuhan-21529067
Rush Limbaugh, Trump, and

{ americanthinker.com } ~ It was an exciting time. In 2009, a grassroots movement of concerned Americans scheduled 800 Tea Party rallies nationwide on tax day, April 15th. Forty percent of tea partiers voted for scumbag/liar-nObama, naively believing it would end our nation's racial divide... They did not realize that scumbag/liar-nObama was a Trojan Horse with a progressive warrior hiding inside his black-skin exterior.  Once scumbag/liar-nObama began implementing his undercover mission to transform America into a socialist/progressive country, Americans said, no. His sinister policies included persecuting Christians and opening borders to illegals. scumbag/liar-nObama betrayed Americans. In 2009, I was among only a few blacks in the Tea Party movement. When scumbag/liar-nObama told Joe the Plumber that he intended to “spread the wealth around,” I knew he was talking socialism and was not the right man to lead my beloved country. Therefore, my brother Jerry and I were the only blacks in our circle of family and friends who did not vote for the first black president. One day I was in Florida driving to Walmart when I wrote the “American Tea Party Anthem” in my car. I few days later, I was in a recording studio recording the song. A few days later, I was interviewed on Fox News about the song. A few days later, I was on a flight to Santa Barbara, California to perform the song at a Tea Party rally. I've performed at 500 tea party rallies on 14 Tea Party Express and other national bus tours. Proven psychopathic liar Elizabeth dinky/liar-Warren is all over TV telling the tale of receiving $3 for her presidential campaign from a college student who only had $6 in the bank. dinky/liar-Warren's tale triggered my memory of the woman I fondly call my “Five Dollar Lady.” At a Tea Party rally in Texas, a humble white woman approached me with tears rolling down her cheeks. She thanked me and our team for touring the country pushing back against scumbag/liar-nObama's over-reaching and job-killing regulations which cost her trucker husband his job. She grabbed my hand and placed a crumbled $5 bill in it towards gas for our tour bus. We were family. The Tea Party truly felt like a huge family, united in our love for God, family, country, liberty, our military, and our flag. I believe Billy Graham said if you find a perfect church, don't join it because you will screw it up. In other words, wherever there are humans, there will be some corruption. I watched some original Tea Party leaders abandon our principles. In their minds, the movement became solely about furthering their careers and financial gain. They betrayed the Tea Party...

The Real Winners of the
Afghan Election: The Taliban

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ The announcement that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has emerged as the victor in the country's election contest could well prove to be a hollow victory... so far as the survival of Afghanistan's fragile democracy is concerned. Declaration of the election's outcome, which took place in September last year, was delayed because of allegations of vote-rigging in the contest, as well as claims that many Afghans did not vote because of intimidation tactics by the Taliban. Even when the final result was announced this week, with election officials  confirming that the 70-year-old Mr Ghani had narrowly claimed victory with 50.64 percent of the vote, the main opposition candidate, Abdullah Abdullah, continued to insist that the contest had been marred by massive fraud and technical problems. This suspicion has apparently prompted Mr Abdullah, who came second with 39.52 percent of the vote, and after claiming he was the real victor in the contest, to announce that he will form his own government. The fierce rivalry between Mr Ghani and Mr Abdullah has become a familiar feature of the Afghan political scene ever since the Afghan president narrowly defeated his long-standing rival in the 2014 contest. On that occasion, Washington was eventually able to persuade the two men to set aside their differences and form a government of national unity, whose main goal was to undertake an ambitious reform package spearheaded by Mr Abdullah. Fresh tensions between the two men surfaced again during the September 28 election contest, though, with Mr Abdullah claiming that the Afghan president had deliberately blocked his reform package, and declaring that Mr Ghani was "not fit" to run the country...  https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/15624/afghan-election-winners

{ jpost.com } ~ The Manufacturers Association of Israel has appealed for government assistance to support the private sector amid the novel coronavirus outbreak... warning that the financial impact threatens the survival of some businesses. In a letter sent to Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon on Wednesday, Manufacturers Association president Ron Tomer called on the government to establish a "financial safety net" for private businesses suffering from the consequences of the outbreak. "The coronavirus continues to spread, unfortunately, and the impact on the global and Israeli economy is already beginning to reveal itself," Tomer wrote. "As the time required to eradicate the virus grows longer, the economic impact grows exponentially."  As a consequence of the outbreak, Tomer said businesses are facing a shortage of raw materials, delays in supplies, reduced cargo flights, a lack of clarity in the shipping sector, and the impact of declining production in China and other countries.  The association highlighted a series of possible "financial safety net" measures to support businesses, including state-backed guarantees, and credit insurance for companies currently struggling with cashflow issues. "The spread of the virus has created a dramatic and sudden change for many companies, and there is real concern that important activities that contribute to growth and employment cannot cope independently with the current crisis," said Tomer. "Therefore, state intervention are assistance are now greatly required to help industry and the entire business sector to withstand the temporary difficulties and challenges, until the economic system stabilizes and current uncertainty is significantly reduced. "Tomer cited financial difficulties experienced by Israeli airline El Al due to travel restrictions and falling demand, warning that a "severe blow" to the flag carrier will impact the ability of domestic manufacturers to export and import goods. Earlier this week, Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich said El Al has incurred losses of approximately $50 million to date due to flight cancellations...  https://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Businesses-request-government-aid-to-counter-coronavirus-impact-618192

Trump's Clemency for Blagojevich Raises Questions

Thomas Gallatin:  On Tuesday, President Donald Trump issued pardons and clemencies to 11 individuals — including disgraced former Democrat Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who was serving a 14-year sentence for several corruption-related crimes, the most notable being his attempted selling of Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s vacated Senate seat. Defending his controversial decision to commute the remainder of Blagojevich’s sentence, Trump argued, “He’s been in jail for seven years over a phone call where nothing happens — over a phone call which he shouldn’t have said what he said, but it was braggadocio, you would say. I would think that there have been many politicians — I’m not one of them, by the way — that have said a lot worse over the telephone.”

Trump’s decision didn’t sit well with five GOP representatives from Illinois. They expressed their “disappointment” in a joint statement in which they noted that Blagojevich’s sentencing was “appropriate and fair” and represented “the low-end of the federal sentencing guidelines for the gravity of his public corruption convictions.” They further asserted, “Blegojevich is the face of public corruption in Illinois, and not once has he shown any remorse for his clear and documented record of egregious crimes. … We shouldn’t let those who breach the public trust off the hook.”

None of the other individuals Trump pardoned yesterday raised nearly the eyebrows or controversy as Blagojevich, which has most everyone wondering what was behind this decision. One thing’s for certain — this was a long-calculated move that Trump had been publicly mulling since 2018. Was it a setup by Trump to justify an eventual move to pardon those caught up in the Russia-collusion hoax — individuals like Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, George Papadopoulos, and Roger Stone? Possibly. It would certainly take some of the wind out of the sails of those who would claim he was acting on purely partisan instincts given that Blagojevich is a Democrat. And if that is indeed part of Trump’s thinking, would he wait until after the election to act?

Furthermore, Trump can use this to call attention to his efforts on criminal-justice reform, a policy agenda that Democrats have long touted as their own and have used effectively against Republicans, especially with minority voters. Trump has seized that political ground.

Still, that Blagojevich used his power as governor to pursue personal gain is exactly the type of corrupt swamp creature Trump campaigned on cleaning up. It’s easy to see why critics blast Trump’s decision as a clear contradiction of that commitment.   ~The Patriot Post
