Broken Promises and Feckless Policy in Syria
On Monday, Barack nObama announced a change of plans for the U.S. military concerning operations in war torn Syria. With the quagmire of chaos and brutality that has ravaged Syria, Iraq and much of the Middle East, it seems as though nObama has come to the realization that airstrikes alone against Islamic State militants are just not working out as well as he expected. "Inherent Resolve," notwithstanding.
Following visits to Britain and Saudi Arabia where "talks" were conducted about the Islamic State and terrorism, nObama wrapped up his trip in Germany where he announced that the United States will put an additional 250 special operations forces on the ground in Syria, bringing the total number to 300. It was the least he could do. Really.
nObama stated, "Given the success [of those 50 special operations troops already there], I've approved the deployment of up to 250 additional U.S. personnel ... to keep up this momentum." He emphasized that these additional forces will not be on the front lines, but that they will be acting in advisory roles and assisting Arab fighters and Kurdish militia on a plan to eventually take back the city of Raqqa, which is currently the "Islamic State's de facto capital in Syria."
Whatever happened to nObama's repeated promise not to put boots on the ground in Syria? You know, the promise he made 16 times. There are already as many as 5,000 pairs of boots on the ground in Iraq, and he promised that wouldn't happen either. Was there another crossing of nObama's phony red line or is it just better late than never? What gives?
As we have mentioned many times before, the rise of the Islamic State would not have happened if nObama had not acted so foolishly by withdrawing troops from Iraq in 2011. By choosing to reject George W. Bush's strategy of reaching a Status of Forces Agreement with the Iraqi government to secure our hard-won gains in the region, nObama opened the door for radical Islamic terrorists to fill the vacuum. nObama thought that if we left the region, the war would be over. His wishful thinking resulted in an enemy even more formidable and numerous than the previous one.
And it's not just Islamic terrorists with whom we must contend on this battlefront. Vladimir Putin still has Russian military forces in Syria, propping up Bashar al-Assad and fighting U.S.-backed "moderates" instead of the Islamic State.
By all indications, Putin has no intention of leaving the region any time soon. Russia has agreed to uphold its end of the deal under a current cease-fire agreement, but The Wall Street Journal reports that Moscow has redeployed many of its forces, including artillery, to northern Syria and that Iranian troops are starting to move back into government controlled areas close to the front lines.
Further, Putin has also attempted to deceive the U.S. by changing his tactics. At first, many thought the withdrawal of Russian warplanes from the region was a sign that Putin had decided to leave. But with the arrival of Russian attack helicopters, Russian troops continuing to maintain an airbase and a port, and with pressure from Iran to stay, it's likely that Putin is going to wait this out a little while longer.
As Michael Ledeen noted last month, "Putin knows time is running out on The Wonderful Thing That Happened in Washington (aka the nObama administration). So whatever he wants to get, now is the time."
So we are left with a situation in Syria that could go from awful to much, much worse. We are fighting the Islamic State and providing weapons to a group of rebels to take down Assad, while Russia and Iran have teamed up to keep Assad in power. And don't forget, nObama handed Iran a nuclear deal that has fueled the mullahs' ambitions with $150 billion in sanctions relief, which of course has enabled Iran to make the moves it has made with Russia in Syria.
Meanwhile, we have an administration that simply doesn't know what to do about Assad. Former Secretary of State Hilly Clinton called Assad a reformer. Then nObama said he had to go. And then current Secretary of State John hanoi-Kerry said he can stay for now. This is not leadership, its madness. And with the announcement that more U.S. troops are going into Syria, it's just a matter of time before tensions between the United States, Russia, Syria and Iran ramp up even more over the coming months.
In short, this isn't so much about broken promises as it is about a feckless and disastrous foreign policy. No wonder the Pentagon can't figure out what the commander in chief is doing.
May God bless and watch over our troops who are and will be sent into harm's way.  -The Patriot Post

 OPINION IN BRIEF
Jeff Jacoby: "[M]ost Americans have gotten used to a system in which even their most routine and predictable medical costs must be routed through the maddening labyrinth of insurance procedures. But nothing could be more counterproductive. When Americans rely on a third party ... to pay most of their medical bills, they forfeit their power as consumers. Our ill-conceived system of subsidized health plans provided by employers and taxpayer-funded 'free' treatment through the government ends up stripping patients of their economic clout. Doctors and hospitals have little incentive to compete by lowering prices, because patients rarely bother to ask about prices. By and large, health-care providers in the United States do most of their negotiating with insurers or the government. After all, they're the ones paying the piper. It's only when medical services aren't reimbursed by a third party ... that the consumer is king. ... Nobody taps auto insurance to pay for tuneups or new tires; we use it when the car is rear-ended or stolen. We shouldn't be using health insurance to pay for routine checkups, either. If it seems odd to say so, that's only because we've convinced ourselves that normal medical expenses shouldn't be treated normally. If we want health care to cost less, we should pay for it ourselves."   -The Patriot Post

Sessions Warns –
Expect Anti-American TPP Dirty Tricks...
By Rick Wells
.
.
{rickwells.us} ~ Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) points to the ‘president’s’ own words in a joint press conference with Angela Merkel in Germany in sounding the alarm of TPP and other trade deals that nObama is trying to push through and force upon the American people... He quotes nObama saying, “And with respect to Congress, and the Trans-Pacific Partnership, I think after the primary season is over, the politics settled down a little bit in Congress, and we’ll be in a position to start moving forward. We had a majority of members in the past who were in favor of this deal. Otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten the authority for me to go ahead and fast track the agreement. But I think we all know that elections can sometimes make things a little more challenging. And people take positions in part to protect themselves from attacks during the course of an election season.” Senator Sessions says, “I would suggest that the American people should be very uneasy about their ‘president’ making such a statement as that. We’ve already heard that there are plans by a number of forces and interest groups to try to slip this TPP through after the election, in a lame duck congressional session.”...     http://rickwells.us/archives/28836

Reinventing slump liar-Trump Won't Make Him a Winner

{newsmax.com} ~ Donald slump liar-Trump is trying to establish the narrative that he's already won the Republican presidential nomination. If that's true, why is his team trying to reinvent him?... slump liar-Trump had a big win in New York, and he's likely to have another big day in other Northeastern states this week. But neither New York nor these other states are a surprise. The Ted Cruz team anticipated this and warned Cruz supporters that this would be a dry patch, adding that things will get better. slump liar-Trump understands that he's getting shellacked in the delegate selection process in the states — which means he probably won't be the nominee if he doesn't reach 1,237 delegates before the convention... http://www.newsmax.com/DavidLimbaugh/Manafort/2016/04/26/id/725769/...

Four Star Officers On The Chopping Block!?
By Leo Shane III
.
.
{militarytimes.com} ~ House lawmakers want more troops in the ranks but fewer four-stars to lead them. The proposal is part of sweeping personnel reforms included in the House Armed Services Committee draft of the annual defense authorization bill, unveiled Monday... It’s also a rebuke of what some congressional leaders see as “top-heavy command headquarters” with more support staff than they need. To solve that, the bill includes a requirement to dump at least five of the 38 four-star posts across the armed services in coming years — the Coast Guard commandant would not be included in the list — and ensure that subordinate commanders within combatant commands serve at a grade no higher than three stars. The move appears specifically aimed at situations like the Defense Department’s Pacific Command, which in addition Adm. Harry Harris Jr., the unified command’s leader, boasts three other four-star officers who fill service-specific posts...

Classified 28 Pages of the 9/11 Commission
Report Could Be Released Soon
  By  Warren Mass
.
.
{thenewamerican.com} ~ Twenty-eight classified pages from the famous 9/11 Commission Report on the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, could be made public by June, according to James Clapper, the director of National Intelligence... An April 25 report from VOA quoted Clapper’s remarks made at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast. “I think that is certainly a realistic goal from where we stand with that,” said Clapper who is responsible for overseeing the redacted pages’ potential declassification. “We are in the position of trying to coordinate interagency position on the declassification of the 28 pages,” the director and retired Air Force lieutenant general added. VOA noted that only a select group of U.S. officials have read the classified report, which has been locked in a secure area of the U.S. Capitol building since a joint congressional committee compiled it in 2002. Bills have been introduced in both the Senate and House of Representatives calling for the declassification of the report’s redacted pages... http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/crime/item/23052-classified-28...

White House Adviser: Thanks to Israel, the

{algemeiner.com} ~ The United States “dodged a bullet in Syria… all courtesy of the Israelis,” former US Vice President Dick Cheney’s national security adviser asserted on Monday... Navy Digging Out Of Fighter Shortfall; Marines Still Struggling To Fly At Home
By Megan Eckstein
.
F/A-18E-F Super Hornet
.
{news.usni.org} ~A three-pronged approach is helping the Navy keep its strike fighter inventory shortfall at a “manageable” level –speeding up legacy Hornet life extension work, preparing to conduct the Super Hornet life extension program more efficiently, and buying new Super Hornets... though the Marines’ legacy Hornet fighter inventory is so strained there are hardly any planes available for day-to-day squadron training, Navy and Marine aviation leaders said last week. Because the Marines fly only the legacy Hornet, the service’s situation is much more dire than the Navy’s more balanced inventory of older F/A-18 A-D Hornets and F/A-18E-F Super Hornets. Deputy Commandant of the Marine Corps for Aviation Lt. Gen. Jon Davis told the Senate Armed Services seapower subcommittee last week that, according to his records from the previous day, the Marines had only 87 Hornets that were mission capable, out of the 276 planes the Marine Corps owns and the requirement for 174 at any given time. The Marine Corps will eventually transition its F-18 squadrons into F-35B Joint Strike Fighter squadrons, but in the mean time it is scavenging old planes for parts and using 3D printers to build what it cannot find lying around – trying to keep its planes flying until more come out of the depots after their Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) overhaul...Thank nObama for that.     https://news.usni.org/2016/04/26/navy-digging-out-of-fighter-shortf...

Lack of Security Intelligence is Allowing
Chinese Spy Rings to Grow in the U.S.
By RYAN HEALY

{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ On April 21, 2016, federal authorities formally charged 53-year old Amin Yu on an 18-count indictment for being a Chinese spy... She had operated discretely within the United States (U.S.) from 2002 until February 2014, and had supplied China with resources to develop their own underwater drone program. Authorities believe Yu obtained submersible materials including underwater cables, connectors, and sonar from U.S., Canadian, and European and illegally exported it to Harbin Engineering University (HEU), a state-owned university in China.  HEU conducts research and development (R&D) for the Chinese government and military. Yu had worked for HEU as a researcher studying "underwater operated vehicles" until she came to the U.S. in 1998 according to the indictment. She owned two companies Amin International, based out of Mason, Ohio, and I-Four International, which she ran out of her home, to acquire the submersible parts...

Russia and China rush to fill Mideast

{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ It was meant to be a farewell visit by a cherished friend heading for retirement. Instead, Barack nObama's visit to Saudi Arabia Tuesday and Wednesday turned into an unwanted call by an uninvited guest at an inconvenient time... It started a the airport, when Saudi King Salman sent one of his nephews to greet the US president on arrival in Riyadh. The gesture was specially telling because the Saudi monarch had spent much of the day personally welcoming other leaders at the airport. It ended not much better: forced smiles, unconvincing statements of solidarity. It was typical of what has become the nObama Doctrine: dropping old allies in the hope of turning adversaries into new friends. Needless to say, the gamble has failed... http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/russia-and...

Classification Decision of 28 Pages from
the 9/11 Report: Strategic for Bush,
Personal for nObama
Lt. Colonal James G. Zumwalt
.
.
{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ U.S. presidential candidates experience a learning curve. They find, once elected to office, delivering on promises, easily made as a candidate, is much more difficult. For candidates irresponsibly making such campaign promises, winning an election becomes a sobering reality.

When easily made campaign promises can, just as easily, be kept – demanding little effort by a newly elected president to do so – but are not, the obvious question becomes “why?”

As a candidate, President Barack nObama made just such a campaign promise. In 2008, he promised to release information President George W. Bush had classified as secret. Its release, after nObama took office, would clearly have generated criticism of the 43rd president for failing to release it on his own watch. Yet nObama, who has repeatedly rushed during his term to criticize Bush whenever possible, still refuses to go public with the information.

Interestingly, while Bush’s decision to classify the material had strategic purpose, nObama’s motivation is personal.

The information in question consists of 28 pages, totaling 7,200 words, of an 800-page report on the 9/11 attacks against the U.S. released in 2002 by the U.S. House and Senate Intelligence Committees. It deals with “specific sources of foreign support” for the 19 hijackers involved, 15 of whom were Saudi nationals. Implicating Saudi Arabian government officials, Bush immediately classified the pages, rejecting a demand made the next year by dozens of senators to declassify them.

Bush’s declassification refusal made the issue a no-brainer for presidential candidate nObama. What Bush would not do, nObama assured the families of 9/11 victims in 2008, he, as president, would. But once in office, nObama failed to follow through.

Pressured in 2014 to make good on his promise, nObama finally ordered a declassification review of the pages in question to be conducted. Almost two years later, that review is yet to be completed.

With a trip to Saudi Arabia coming up later this month, nObama is again on the hot seat to expedite the review and release the information. National Security Council spokesman Ned Price reported, “That review process remains underway, but every effort is being taken to complete it before the end of the Administration.

Since the review was ordered, it has inched along at a snail’s pace. It should not be taking so long to complete, lest nObama’s true intention is the pages never be released. If so, his reasoning as to why needs to be made very clear.

Before doing so, let us examine what information has been revealed about the pages’ content.

Two members of Congress, Reps. Walter Jones (R-NC) and Stephen Lynch (D-Mass), who have read the pages, tell us, although “absolutely shocked” by the level of foreign state involvement, they are prohibited by law from disclosing the identity of the country involved.

But other sources leave no doubt Saudi Arabia is the country in question. While a 2004 9/11 Commission report found no evidence of Saudi government involvement, a CIA memo found “incontrovertible evidence” of it. Additionally, the infamous twentieth 9/11 bomber, Zacarias Moussaoui, has given sworn testimony members of the royal Saudi family were involved.

If concrete evidence of Saudi government complicity existed, it would explain Bush’s unwillingness to go public with it. It would have taken the 9/11 attack out of the realm of an act of terrorism and into the same realm as the Pearl Harbor attack 60 years earlier, an act of war.

Undoubtedly, Bush rationalized, while some Saudi government officials were involved in providing logistical and financial support to the attackers, their actions may not have been sanctioned officially by the Saudi government. Additionally, with its gun sites already targeted on Afghanistan and Iraq, America could ill afford to expand the conflict to include Saudi Arabia as well.

For nObama to declassify these pages to reveal Saudi complicity – and Bush’s underlying intentions to hide it from the American people – would have provided him with the equivalent of a drug user’s rush. nObama would be able to further denigrate his predecessor, as has always been his wont. But nObama still rejects their release, and probably always will, for one extraordinarily personal reason – for which some background is necessary.

Saudi Arabia is recognized among all Muslims as performing a critical role under Islam. It is “custodian” of two of the religion’s holiest mosques – Makkah, the birthplace of Islam and Prophet Muhammad, and Madinah, where he was buried. A sacred trust exists between Saudi Arabia and all Muslims to preserve these two sites.

Thus, existentially speaking, Saudi Arabia is Islam and Islam is Saudi Arabia. Every aspect of Islamic life and thought is manifested within Saudi life and culture.

The reason nObama refuses to release the 28 pages is that it would destroy his legacy. Remember, he is a president who has spent eight years assuring us Islam is a peaceful religion. Yet, if Saudi Arabia – a Muslim ally of the U.S. for eighty years representing the gold standard of Islamic thought – were involved in the 9/11 attacks, it destroys the myth of “peaceful” Islam. It would become impossible for the “violent extremist” link to Islam, which nObama has refused to make, to be denied by him any longer. It would put the lie to his repeated peaceful assertions, exposing him as a fool for even promoting such a claim.

Ironically, 52 years after the Warren Commission report into President John F. Kennedy’s assassination was released in 1964, conspiracy theorists abound over its failure to link the killer to one. Meanwhile, the 9/11 Commission report wreaks of killers linked to a Saudi-assisted Islamic conspiracy, but gets little attention.

Where are all the conspiracy theorists when we really need them to expose Islam’s dark side?

Obama Lies Again: – Ignores That The Year After Signing The Stimulus More Than (4) Million Jobs Were Lost

Former President Obama, the only President in US history who had his FBI and other Intel agencies spy on the opposition party candidate, claims that he created the great economy that Americans are enjoying today. The only thing Obama created was debt and massive job losses with his horrible economic recovery.

Yesterday the former President tweeted an effort to take credit for President Trump’s successful economy:

Joe Hoft@joehoft

Of course another @BarackObama lie. He can’t open his mouth without lying. 11 years ago the US lost (4.3) million jobs over the next 12 months. Horrible liar. https://twitter.com/barackobama/status/1229432034650722304

Barack Obama  @BarackObama

Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history.

President Obama’s policies were a disgrace and a failure. He doubled the national debt in spite of zero interest rates from the Fed. His recovery was the worst in US history.

Also, Obama’s assertion is just plain false. The ‘Stimulus’ was passed in February 2009 right after Obama took over the Presidency. He promised to not pass any bills for at least a week to allow for the bills to be read by the people but lied as soon as he was sworn in. The Stimulus was hundreds and hundreds of pages of government handouts to Democrat districts and it was close to $1 million. This was not what America needed and it led to the Tea Party.

Far-left Wikipedia has this to say about the Stimulus:

Note that in his infinite wisdom, NYT economist Paul Krugman is credited with arguing that “the stimulus was far smaller than the economic crisis warranted”. (He also said the markets would crash and burn if President Trump was elected President.)

The data shows that the 12 months after Obama’s stimulus, the US lost 4.3 million jobs:

In Obama’s first three years he netted a loss of 1.5 million jobs compared to President Trump who has added more than 6.7 million jobs.

When it comes to the economy, the billionaire schools the community organizer every time.
