foxnews.com } ~ The FBI on Tuesday released more than 400 pages of its files on left-wing activist Saul Alinsky that showed the bureau, for years, monitored the community organizer and investigated accusations that he was a communist... Alinsky, who authored the book “Rules for Radicals” and was known for his activism in Chicago, died in 1978. A self-described “radical,” Alinsky never identified as a communist. But the FBI, for years, harbored suspicions about his sympathies. The FBI files show the bureau received a tip in 1940 questioning if Alinsky was a communist. The FBI in Chicago wrote in one document that the bureau was interested in obtaining information about whether Alisnky was involved in organizing a “communistic or subversive group.” A 1941 FBI document, though, said the Chicago Police Department conducted an investigation and found “no information that he is communistically inclined.” The police investigation, the document said, “did not disclose that Alinsky is a member of any un-American organization nor did it disclose that he had ever made any remarks or exhibited any acts against the United States government, or in favor of any foreign government.” Still, the files indicate the bureau continued to probe for years after that to see whether Alinsky had communist sympathies. It included newspaper clippings about Alinsky’s work organizing in black communities, as well as memos of findings from “confidential sources” who provided the bureau information on Alinsky’s activities. A 1965 letter to then-FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover from a person whose name was redacted included news clippings about Alinsky and said, “The situation that amazes me about this enclosed clipping is the fact that our Constitution permits people freedom—people who try to tear it down.” “I wish I could, personally, do something about a man like this,” the person wrote in the letter to Hoover. But the sender said, “all I can do is to be on the alert, respect law and order and justice and be a loyal American to our Democracy.” In recent years, Republicans have resurrected Alinsky’s name to use as a weapon against Democrats in presidential elections: 2016 Democratic presidential candidate scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton met with Alinsky in 1968 while writing her college thesis on his community organizing and President scumbag/liar-nObama, like Alinsky, famously worked as a community organizer in Chicago before getting into politics.   https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fbi-releases-files-showing-bureau-monitored-activities-of-rules-for-radicals-author-saul-alinsky

thedailybeast.com } ~ House Judiciary Committee Democrats are not happy with Hope Hicks. President Donald Trump’s former adviser responded to questions from members of the committee behind closed doors on Capitol Hill on Wednesday... and—per numerous members—didn’t give them much to go on. As a result, members said they expect to take her to court. “It’s not at all helpful,” said Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-Texas), who stepped out of the hearing about an hour after it started and said it’s time to start an impeachment inquiry. “This is the beginning of what I presume will be litigation proceedings,” said Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI), who has already called for movement on impeachment. Hicks was flanked by a bevy of lawyers at the hearing. Gloria Solomon and Bob Trout, who also represented her when she testified to the House Intelligence Committee last year, were on hand for the hearing. A source familiar with the interview told The Daily Beast that the White House Counsel’s Office sent two attorneys: Michael Purpura and Patrick Philbin. A lawyer from the Justice Department’s elite Office of Legal Counsel was also on hand for the testimony, per another source. The lawyers weren’t shy about jumping in, according to members. Hicks was asked to read parts of the Mueller Report that involved her, which she did, according to multiple sources familiar with the testimony. Then, when she was asked about the accuracy of the report, counsel objected to her answering, per those sources. Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA), said lawyers in the room objected “dozens and dozens of times,” claiming Hicks was immune from demands she testify about her work with the president. Cicilline called that claim “specious.” “The president’s lawyers are directing her not to answer any questions, even as we’re recounting stuff she’s told to the Special Counsel,” he added...  https://www.thedailybeast.com/hope-hicks-stonewalls-enrages-house-democrats

thefederalist.com } ~ U.S. Air Force Gen. Paul Selva, the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a rare voice of sanity and realism, told reporters recently that buck-passing the world’s security burden onto America and Britain, while we are at it should be a thing of the past... Other great powers that are more interested in preserving their oil and trade routes should play a more active part in securing those routes, he said, with their own blood and treasure. While freedom of navigation and trade in the global commons is the primary task of the U.S. Navy ever since the United States took superpower status from the Royal Navy post-1945, the situation is changing as unipolarity is coming to an end. “We have maintained across the sea lanes of the world a position of defending freedom of navigation,” Selva said, but “that doesn’t mean it’s a US-only problem. If we take this on as a US-only responsibility, nations that benefit from that movement of oil through the Persian Gulf are bearing little or no responsibility for the economic benefit they gain from the movement of that oil.” This should be obvious to anyone who follows geopolitics in the Gulf region, especially to the armchair commentators and politicians who are trying to portray this as a challenge Ronald Reagan faced in the 1980s. Then the Iran-Iraq war was ongoing, amid the threat of Soviets capitalizing on the chaos and choking Western energy routes. The simple reality is that this is not the 1980s. As Selva added, “If you think back to the reflagging operation, the Tanker War as it was nicknamed, where we reflagged and escorted tankers so that they could flow in and out of the Strait of Hormuz, we got a substantial amount of our oil from the Persian Gulf…We are now in a position where the bulk of that oil goes to … countries in Asia, and none of those countries have shown any predilection to pressing Iran to stop what they are doing. What was true in the 1980s, is not true today. We are not wholly dependent on the movement of Saudi, Kuwaiti Qatari and Emirati oil in and out of the Gulf to sustain our economy.”...  https://thefederalist.com/2019/06/20/last-thing-america-needs-yet-another-open-ended-war-middle-east/?utm_source=The+Federalist+List&utm_campaign=1b0c8f181d-RSS_The_Federalist_Daily_Updates_w_Transom&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_cfcb868ceb-1b0c8f181d-83771801

Iran Boasts to the World They Aren’t Following Nuclear Treaty, Trump Should Say I Told You So

by americanlibertyreport.com:  Tensions are high between the U.S. and Iran right now. There was the Iranian attack on a Japanese tanker, an ally of America. Photos and video of the strike show Iranian Guard members removing a missile that did not explode upon impact from the hull of the ship... Presumably they did this so the attack could not be traced back to Iran. Guess the Iranians forgot about our satellite technology. But that’s not the only thing that is causing tensions to spike and worries about war between our countries to proliferate. On Monday it was reported that Iran would surpass the uranium stockpile limit it set in the nuclear deal the scumbag/liar-nObama administration signed. Reports said the limit would be surpassed within the next 10 days. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has already warned Europe it needs a new nuclear deal to be in place by July 7 or they would increase their enrichment of uranium. Atomic energy spokesman for Iran Behrouz Kamalvandi put that statement in perspective when he said if Iran were to increase our enrichment numbers by 20%, “that’s just a step away from weapons-grade levels.” Leaders of the Middle Eastern nation are boldly talking up the amount of uranium they have and the amount they intend to obtain in the near future. According to ZeroHedge, “The Iranian government announced on Monday that it was set to breach the cap on enriched uranium, unless Europe finds a way to trade with Iran, or otherwise fulfill its financial obligations made under the deal.” These actions and statement by Iran seem to show how willing the Islamic state is to provoke conflict. In response, the Pentagon announced it would be sending additional American troops over to the region to bolster security of American interests in the face of a growing Iranian threat. The UK is also sending a contingent of 100 Royal Marines to the region, purportedly to stabilize the situation... Where is Japan and Asia?

Chip Roy: House Democrats Have Agreed To Vote
On Trump’s Emergency $4.5 Billion Border Supplemental Request

{dailycaller.com } ~ House Democrats have agreed to bring President Donald Trump’s border supplemental request to the floor for a vote... according to a press release from Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy Wednesday. Trump requested an emergency $4.5 billion border supplemental in May, which aims to help the  humanitarian crisis at the border. The money would be used to provide more space for minors, develop short-term processing for asylum seekers, keep the National Guard at the border and more. It would not be used to further building the border wall. “From conversations I had today with Democratic House leadership and appropriators, I understand that earnest negotiations are underway to bring President Donald Trump’s border supplemental request to the floor for a vote,” Roy said according to a press release. “I’m told that vote could happen within a week.” This border bill is an “important first step” in addressing the crisis at the border, according to Roy. He spoke about his efforts to “get House Democrats to do the bare minimum to address the humanitarian crisis on our southern border,” according to the release. Roy has been outspoken about getting the Democratic House majority to put the border supplement to a vote. Roy kept the House in session until 4 a.m. on June 13 trying to get the House to approve what he said would fix the migration crisis at the southern border, Dallas News reported. Roy then forced a vote on a motion Tuesday in an attempt to push House Democrats into bringing the $4.5 billion bill to the floor, The Hill reported. “While I remain skeptical we will get what is needed, I am encouraged my Democratic colleagues are finally taking the humanitarian crisis on our border seriously,” the statement read. “We should have voted on and passed this supplemental last month after Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought sent it to congressional leadership May 1. This supplemental is not for a border wall, but for humanitarian aid.”...

Harvard Demonstrates Leftist Double Standard

Thomas Gallatin:  Kyle Kashuv, a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, when it was attacked by a deranged sociopath in 2017, was recently informed that his acceptance into Harvard University had been rescinded. Harvard pointed to racist comments Kashuv made in a private online chat when he was 16, prior to the school shooting, as the reason for its decision. Kashuv, who has become a Second Amendment advocate while many of his classmates were used as gun-control pawns, had already publicly apologized for the comments, noting that they were wrong, that he has matured significantly since making them, and that they don’t represent his current views.
Harvard acknowledged Kashuv’s apology but concluded that “after careful consideration the Committee voted to rescind your admission to Harvard College.” In other words, sorry kid but there is no forgiveness for those on the wrong side of the political divide.

As National Review’s David French observes, “Let’s not pretend that Kyle is anything other than a victim of the culture wars. Had he not stepped forward after Parkland as a conservative spokesperson, he would be in no one’s crosshairs. He would have been allowed to make a mistake. At its heart, the attack on Kyle isn’t about making Harvard safe from racists. It’s not about protecting anyone. It’s about politics.”

Ironically, it is Harvard that is guilty of systematic racism. At least Kashuv willingly admitted he was wrong, apologized for his comments, and all evidence indicates that he has grown up. That’s more than can be said for those “woke” adults running Harvard. The institution has unfairly discriminated against Asian-American applicants in its effort to ensure “equity” and “diversity.” And this institutional racism continues as the university still seeks to judge people not solely on individual academic merit but by the color of their skin.

As the saying goes, leftists would have no standards if not for their double standards. Leftists offer forgiveness and understanding only toward those who bow to their worldview. Interestingly, one would think that a left-leaning school like Harvard would jump at the opportunity to “educate” a young conservative like Kashuv out of his “backward” views. Yet it appears Harvard is more concerned with appeasing the leftist outrage mob.
