{ independentsentinel.com } ~ There was a hearing in the National Security Advisor Michael Flynn case with Judge Emmet Sullivan in D.C. Tuesday... As a result, Flynn’s attorney might seek to have the case thrown out. The DOJ is still playing games. They ‘lost their notes’ and ‘forgot’ the memo exonerating him in the case. Sidney Powell, Flynn’s attorney is calling the behavior by the government “egregious” and even “hiding evidence.” She also noted that there was significant pressure on the General to accept a plea, especially when they had permission from Rod Rosenstein to go after the General’s son. A DOJ memo was withheld that stated Michael Flynn did not lie. Flynn’s attorney still does not have that memo. There were also a number of discrepancies in the 302 reports. Flynn’s attorneys are not withdrawing the plea for now but asking to have the entire prosecution dismissed on the grounds it was “egregious government misconduct” and there were “stunning Brady Bunch violations” then and now. “There never would have been a plea, to begin with, if the government had disclosed Brady information about what it knew before the plea agreement,” Powell said. “Egregious gov’t misconduct and long-time suppression of crucial Brady material that should have been provided to the defense before there ever was a plea,” the defense asserts.  As usual, Techno Fog has done the research and obtained the transcript. Techno Fog tweeted out documents showing the DOJ refuses to produce...

Marine Who Led ISIS Fight Says
Threat Still Remains

{ news.usni.org } ~ ISIS might have lost control of its last territorial stronghold in March, but the retired Marine Corps general who led American efforts to defeat the terrorist organization five years ago says the group remains much alive... The killing of more than 60 attendees at a Kabul wedding party last month by a suicide bomber is a clear demonstration that, “ISIS remains a very virulent threat in the world,” retired Marine Gen. John Allen said Tuesday at the Brookings Institution. “We may see this provincial offshoot of the Islamic State become even stronger” as a result of the breakdown in peace negotiations between the United States and the Taliban. Allen, who is now president of Brookings, said a clear indication of a future threat of terrorist attacks upon the United States may lay in the camps in Turkey where the spouses and children of detained foreign fighters are being housed because “no state will take the youngsters back.” European nations have been reluctant to take back foreign fighters held by the Syrian Democratic Forces and try to rehabilitate them or, if that fails, detain them on their soil, he said. The Syrian Democratic Forces are made up of Kurdish, Arab, Assyrian and Armenian militias. At the same time, Turkey, which currently houses millions of Syrian refugees, warns unless Western European countries help shoulder the cost of sheltering the growing refugee population, it plans to send them either back across the border into a “safe zone” or to Western European countries. A new generation of terrorists might be emerging in the refugee camps and prisons, said Brett McGurk, who worked with Allen to build the coalition that successfully defeated the Islamic State militarily in Syria and Iraq. The same situation produced men like Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who organized jihadists in Afghanistan and Iraq to fight against the Americans and coalition partners. Al-Zarqawi was killed in 2006. “We have a difficult time taking Americans who fought alongside ISIS in Syria or Iraq back,” so the United States is not providing a model that other nations might use. “This is the moment for American leadership,” Allen said. Five years ago, the U.S. led the way to assemble the coalition of 21 nations against the Islamic State. Now, the U.S. needs to similarly lead the way in handling foreign fighters and their families. Then ISIS controlled large parts of Iraq, threatening to capture Baghdad, and Syria, which already was engaged in a civil war. Allen and McGurk agreed defeat of main force units doesn’t mean ISIS is defeated. The evidence is the bombings in Kabul, and splinter organizations operating from Africa to the Philippines. The extremist ideology behind the Islamic State’s claim to be the new caliphate also remains active on the internet, Allen said...

We Are on the Precipice of Incrementally
Losing the Second Amendment

{ independentsentinel.com } ~ The far-left politicians and media are sadly winning the gun control argument by framing every suicide, every mass shooting, every gang crime as gun violence instead of what they are... San Francisco has labeled the NRA a terrorist organization and many Americans agree with that extreme and outlandish viewpoint, even some Republicans, according to Rasmussen. Possibly unconstitutional laws like Red Flag laws are being instituted throughout the nation. Both represent the incremental destruction of the Second Amendment. We are in the danger zone and could lose the Second Amendment. In a new survey Rasmussen Reports, “nearly one-out-of-three Likely Democratic Voters (32%) favor declaring the NRA, a Second Amendment rights group, a terrorist organization in the community where they live. Even more shocking, 14 percent of Republicans responding agreed — that’s one out of every seven. According to Rasmussen, 28 percent of Democrats say Americans should be prohibited by law from belonging to pro-gun rights organizations like the NRA. Remarkably, that view was shared by 15 percent of Republicans. The Second Amendment is vitally important. It confirms our inherent right to self-defense. If the confused Americans think they can take this away, they can take all our rights away and destroy all our Amendments. Without the Bill of Rights, the Constitution is nothing. The NRA is only a lobbying group for the Second Amendment. They teach gun safety classes. That’s all they do. Destroying them is unAmerican. This new and crazy definition of what a terrorist group is, based on consultation with the corrupt Southern Poverty Law Center, must not stand...  https://www.independentsentinel.com/we-are-on-the-precipice-of-incrementally-losing-the-second-amendment/

{ news.usni.org } ~ The Navy’s explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) community is looking to leverage nearly two decades of expertise gained in the mountains of Afghanistan and the deserts in Iraq... and apply them to helping the Navy gain sea control and beach access in a future high-end, near-peer adversary type of fight. Elements of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One are currently in Alaska for the EOD community’s first cold-weather training event in years, EODGRU1 Commodore Capt. Oscar Rojas told reporters today in a media teleconference. “Navy explosive ordnance disposal has become almost synonymous with enabling counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations in the desert and in the mountains in the Middle East. We have become the world’s experts at defeating improvised explosive devices and carving a path for America’s special operations force to gain access into a denied area in order for us to accomplish our assigned missions,” he said, noting the significance of conducting a future-looking Arctic exercise on the 18th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that precipitated years of ground wars in the Middle East. “A couple weeks ago, now three weeks ago, we shook the sand out of our boots, we donned some dry suits, and we conducted cold-water and cold-weather operations in Alaska” to prepare for a future fight in an austere and cold environment that would likely be communications-denied and spread out over a great distance. Rojas noted that, in some ways, returning to the Arctic for the Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise would be a return to the past – during the Cold War, when the Navy often operated near and inside the Arctic Circle. In fact, last year the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group sailed north of the Arctic Circle for the first time since the fall of the Soviet Union, and the carrier leveraged 1980s-era lessons such as bringing baseball bats on the deployment to help break up ice that formed on the flight deck. Asked if the Navy EOD community could similarly look back in time for a refresher on how to operate in high-latitude environments, Rojas said that technology advancements have led to today’s EOD force operating in totally different ways  than they did decades ago, meaning they need to learn anew how to conduct diving, mine hunting, beach clearance and other missions in an Arctic location. “While all those lessons learned or tactics, techniques and procedures are very important and in many cases still relevant today, the difference today is that we have – we, the Navy EOD force – have evolved considerably,” he said...

Does CNN--finally--need to have
its broadcast license suspended or pulled?

{ renewamerica.com } ~ This will be short and to the point. As most of us know, since well before the 2016 elections CNN has been broadcasting not only extraordinarily negative news concerning President Donald J. Trump but... stories about him that are intentionally misleading and those that are patently false. However, its latest expedition into the CNN fake news genre has taken us into depths that even CNN employees had never before reached and, perhaps, hadn't realized possible...even for their non-stellar cast of characters. Apparently, another member of the scumbag/liar-nObama Administration, Jim Sciutto who landed the position of "Chief National Security Correspondent" at the now-discredited-by-intelligent-humans Cable News Network, placed not only President Trump in jeopardy but, put a former US double agent in extreme danger by divulging information about him that led to people finding out his name and address. This has placed the agent and his family in extreme danger from Russia. Mr. Putin's enemies seem to eerily die when in his disfavor. Responding to Sciutto's false reporting, CIA Director for Public Affairs Brittany Bramell blasted CNN's report with: "CNN's narrative that the Central Intelligence Agency makes life-or-death decisions based on anything other than objective analysis and sound collection is simply false. Misguided speculation that the President's handling of our nation's most sensitive intelligence – which he has access to each and every day – drove an alleged exfiltration operation is inaccurate." Sciutto's fake news also led to multiple other outlets who reported on it – giving Sciutto credit and almost all of the CNN anchors – and at least one from 'we know who' at MSNBC – reported on this "horror" of "it's all Trump's fault" and continued to excitedly broadcast the lie...the BIG lie...until it was finally stopped via the truth coming out...  http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/zieve/190912

Thomas Gallatin:  Once again CNN adds to its nefarious reputation as America’s leading peddler of fake news. On Monday, CNN dropped another “bombshell” story in which it alleged “President Donald Trump and his administration repeatedly mishandled classified intelligence” that could have contributed to exposing a covert Russian source as a spy. The story claimed, without offering any specifics, that in a May 2017 Oval Office meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Trump discussed highly classified information that potentially risked exposing a high-level U.S. source within the Kremlin.

The trouble is, the story is not true, as even The New York Times observed. There was a high-level U.S. source within the Kremlin, and the CIA did work to extract him over increasing fears that the Russians would find out his identity. However, the allegation that Trump’s supposed mishandling of classified intelligence was what motivated the CIA to act is flat out wrong.

And the CIA did something it rarely does — issue a public denial of the CNN report. CIA Director of Public Affairs Brittany Bramell stated, “Misguided speculation that the president’s handling of our nation’s most sensitive intelligence — which he has access to each and every day — drove an alleged exfiltration operation is inaccurate.”

Former CIA Director and current Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also weighed in: “The reporting is materially inaccurate. And you should know, as a former CIA director, I don’t talk about things like this very often — it is only the occasions that I think put people at risk, when the reporting is so egregious as to create enormous risks to the United States of America, that I even comment the way I just did.” He added, “I won’t say anything more about it. Suffice to say that the reporting there is factually wrong.”

A source familiar with the situation noted, “In their fervor to blame President Trump for mishandling classified information, CNN potentially risked lives. They had multiple on-the-record quotes from administration officials telling them. Their story was not only wrong, but irresponsible and dangerous, and CNN decided to run with it anyway.”

In fact, the real culprit in this whole exposure case ironically is the mainstream media. As the Times reports, “Former intelligence officials said there was no public evidence that Mr. Trump directly endangered the source, and other current American officials insisted that media scrutiny of the agency’s sources alone was the impetus for the extraction.” So, CNN is blaming Trump for an action the network is guilt of.
