{ spectator.org } ~ The term “constitutional crisis” has been tossed around so often since President Trump took office that it now has little meaning in our public discourse... But regardless of what we call the current impasse between the executive branch and the House of Representatives pursuant to the “impeachment inquiry” launched by the latter, our government now faces a genuine crisis whose magnitude the nation hasn’t seen for more than 150 years. Americans have long celebrated the orderly transfer of power that is unique to our form of government. The Democrats, however, have abandoned that tradition by refusing to accept the outcome of the 2016 election. Having pursued a policy of transparency and shown extraordinary forbearance with the antics of House Democrats only to be declared “illegitimate” for his trouble, President Trump has had enough. Tuesday, Counsel to the President Pat Cipollone put House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi on notice that Trump would no longer allow their machinations to distract him from his normal duties. Pointing out that the ersatz impeachment inquiry concocted by liar-Pelosi and her accomplices was constitutionally invalid, in brazen violation of basic due process, and contrary to the separation of powers doctrine, Cipollone wrote that the president would ignore it henceforth: The President cannot allow your constitutionally illegitimate proceedings to distract him and those in the Executive Branch from their work on behalf of the American people. The President has a country to lead. The American people elected him to do this job, and he remains focused on fulfilling his promises.… We hope that, in light of the many deficiencies we have identified in your proceedings, you will abandon the current invalid efforts to pursue an impeachment inquiry and join the President in focusing on the many important goals that matter to the American people. Speaker liar-Pelosi responded to the president’s refusal to cooperate further with the farce by releasing a bizarre statement declaring that the letter itself is somehow unlawful and that the refusal to respond to illegitimate requests from a coequal branch of government constitutes obstruction:  This letter is manifestly wrong, and is simply another unlawful attempt to hide the facts of the Trump Administration’s brazen efforts to pressure foreign powers to intervene in the 2020 elections. Despite the White House’s stonewalling, we see a growing body of evidence that shows that President Trump abused his office.… The White House should be warned that continued efforts to hide the truth of the President’s abuse of power from the American people will be regarded as further evidence of obstruction. Mr. President, you are not above the law. You will be held accountable. Never mind that President Trump has been investigated relentlessly by the Democrats and their surrogates since he was elected, and no credible evidence has been found that he has abused his office. Yet Madam Speaker gratuitously insists that he has committed all manner of offenses, and she has arbitrarily launched an “impeachment inquiry” without authorization by the full House — the first time this has been done in the history of the republic. The House has initiated impeachment inquiries against three presidents: Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon, and scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton. All were authorized by a vote of the full House. As the White House letter points out...

Giuliani predicts Senate Judiciary will call
on loose lips liar-Biden to testify on Ukraine

{ thehill.com } ~ President Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani said he believes Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) will call... former Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden to testify before his panel about corruption in Ukraine. Graham told reporters weeks ago that he had no intention of bringing the loose lips liar-Bidens in, but Giuliani said he believed that position had changed amid an escalating Democratic impeachment effort. “I think that changed. Go ask him now,” Giuliani told The Hill Wednesday when asked if Graham made a mistake by ruling out the possible appearance of loose lips liar-Joe or Hunter Biden before the Senate Judiciary Committee. A spokeswoman for the Judiciary Committee did not indicate Graham's position had changed, saying the senator will make a final determination on witnesses at a later date. “On witnesses, we’ll hear from Giuliani and then determine what, if any, additional witnesses need to be called,” said Taylor Reidy. Giuliani says the loose lips liar-Bidens are key witnesses related to an investigation into corruption in Ukraine and allegations that interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election stemmed from Ukraine and not Russia. “If I were in the House and I had subpoena power, my first witness would be loose lips liar-Joe Biden — for Trump. Because I would want to show the corruption that he unleashed in Ukraine that deprived us of the information that could have exonerated the president,” Giuliani said...

Say Goodbye to Charter Schools

{ spectator.org } ~ Sacramento California progressives claim to be the champions of the poor and downtrodden, but their vocal support for legislation that obliterates the state’s charter schools reinforces that they mainly are the cat’s paw for the state’s powerful public-employee unions... If Democratic leaders really cared about the plight of poor kids, Assembly Bill 1505 would have died in committee given that it will keep low-income kids from escaping ill-performing and even dangerous schools. Instead, Gov. scumbag-Gavin Newsom signed it this week amid much fanfare. There’s no way to reform public schools, in California or elsewhere, given that they are government monopolies that are dominated by unions. They will put kids first, as one former teachers’ union official reportedly said, after the kids start paying dues. People who think that such schools can be improved through new reforms and more money probably believed that the Soviet economy could have been fixed with a better-developed five-year plan. The only way to deal with that reality is to escape. In 1992, California passed one of the nation’s most far-reaching school-reform experiments, by making it easy to create publicly funded alternative schools where kids could flee. The original law authorized the establishment of 100 charters. The state now has more than 1,300 of them, and they educate 11 percent of the state’s students. The original law tilted the balance of power in favor of charters by providing myriad ways that charters could get around union-controlled school boards that opposed the competition. Former Gov. Jerry Brown had started charter schools in Oakland and served for eight years as a backstop against increasingly aggressive efforts by the California Teachers Association to stamp out charters or at least significantly curtail their growth. Brown’s state board of education was filled with charter backers, who could legally overrule any anti-charter decisions made by the locals. Brown was replaced by scumbag-Newsom, who wasn’t particularly hostile to charters as San Francisco mayor but wasn’t known as a champion of them, either. The state’s main charter-school group, the California Charter Schools Association, went all in during the governor’s election for former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, a liberal Democrat — but one who took on his city’s teachers’ unions over the charter issue. It seemed unlikely that Villaraigosa would have pulled an upset over the Democratic establishment’s main choice, but that didn’t stop the charter proponents from depicting scumbag-Newsom as an “unprecedented threat” to charters. If he wasn’t then, he certainly has morphed into one now...  https://spectator.org/say-goodbye-to-charter-schools/?utm_source=American%20Spectator%20Emails&utm_campaign=c608e14943-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_10_10_02_50&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_797a38d487-c608e14943-104608113

{ rightwingtribune.com } ~ Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you are aware of the non-stop baseless attacks against our great president including a hell of a lot from scumbag/liar-nObama ‘plants’... who are allegedly guilty of spying, leaking and basically sabotaging everything Trump tries to get done. From day one and before the dems have been on a rampage and now after the Russia witch-hunt failed they are wasting time and tax-payer money arranging and executing a coup attempt against a legitimate, duly elected president. Among those who have betrayed the President and the American people are former CIA Director scumbag/commie-John Brennan and former Director of National intelligence scumbag-James Clapper. We’ve been waiting for months and months now to learn more details about whether these two Trump haters are legitimately in the crosshairs of Attorney General William Barr as he investigates the origins of the “Russiagate” scandal. Because if they’re not, we concluded, then the probe isn’t serious and we shouldn’t expect a damned thing to happen to them. Well, it appears as though a) Barr’s probe is indeed serious because b) the roles scumbag-Clapper and scumbag/commie-Brennan played in Russiagate are indeed being examined. That’s the conclusion of former House Government Oversight Committee chair and current Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah). He notes that John Durham, the prosecutor Barr has assigned to look into the scumbag/liar-nObama-era plots against Trump, has just expanded the ‘Russia’ portion of his probe, which he adds is “bad news” for these two scumbags. There is also a bit of news regarding a potential timeline as to when Durham’s and Barr’s final reports are going to be ready — let’s just say you shouldn’t expect to see them this year...  https://rightwingtribune.com/2019/10/09/breaking-the-bull/

{ investigativeproject.org } ~ A recently released would-be jihadist who wanted to attack Southern California military targets and synagogues will be subject to warrantless searches of his home and belongings... including computers, cellular phones and other electronics. U.S. District Court Judge Cormac J. Carney on Monday made permanent a series of extra restrictions for Kevin James, who violated limits on cell phone use and outside activities almost immediately after his July release from prison. While an inmate serving time for armed robbery in California state prison, James created the radical Islamic group Jam'iyyat Ul-Islam Is-Saheeh (JIS). Prosecutors  described JIS as "a Muslim extremist group who recruited others to carry out violent attacks ... against U.S. military locations and Jewish synagogues." He designed the plot and recruited others "even while his freedoms were restricted in state custody." James pleaded guilty in 2007 to conspiring to wage war against the United States through terrorism. But at that time, prosecutors and probation officers did not anticipate the need to impose added restrictions once his sentence was over. As we reported  last month, the case illustrates a pressing challenge facing the country as more jihadis complete their sentences. The added restrictions on James' computer use and movements would "have a detrimental effect on his rehabilitation," his attorney argued...   https://www.investigativeproject.org/8112/released-terrorist-protests-court-imposed
Ignorance Is Not Bliss: Our Dumbing-Down

{ spectator.org } ~ Meanwhile, while we are talking about leadership, let’s not forget commie-AOC and her “Squad” and the “Green New Deal.” This is her plan to completely stop using fossil fuels and eating meat within the next 11 years... This, supposedly, is necessary to save the planet from destruction. I don’t want to get too far into the weeds on this, but it’s the most idiotic plan in the history of modern civilization. It’s just mind-blowingly stupid. Yes, it’s a good idea to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. I don’t think anyone doubts that. But to think a complete stop can be applied to fossil fuel usage is just an impossibility. The fact that anyone at all takes it seriously, that bystanders don’t start laughing and crying any time commie-AOC or her posse appears in public is just a pitiful sign of how corroded and wrecked our educational system has become. Everything important runs primarily on oil and gas and nuclear. To think we can just wave a wand and change that in 11 is a cruel hoax. How could it have gained any currency at all? On the other hand, the whole idea and the public fawning over commie-AOC reminds me of a sad impression about government that sank into my brain long ago when I was a speechwriter for Gerald R. Ford, immediately after RN left office. Now, Mr. Nixon was a genius and a great friend of freedom. It’s hard to think of another president with the brute brain horsepower RN possessed within the past hundred years. But Mr. Nixon had a certain idea of status and propriety. He did not invite us lowly speechwriters to any but a few cabinet meetings. Gerald Ford, on the other hand, invited a speechwriter who had anything to do with a subject to come to cabinet meetings. The result was that I was invited to dozens of cabinet meetings and other high-level confabs. It was a stunning experience. Mr. Ford was a small-city politico from western Michigan. His friends and cabinet members tended to be somewhat like him. Small-town, provincial businessmen, lawyers, and politicians. To put it mildly, they were not an impressive group — not even remotely in the same league as RN’s top dogs. Very kind people, the sort of people you would want your daughter to marry. But highly limited in sophistication and education...

Trump's Turkish Test on Syria

Nate Jackson:  President Donald Trump was elected to drop a figurative bomb on the Beltway Establishment — of both parties. Dropping bombs is an ugly business, but there’s no question some good has come of it. However, Trump’s announcement regarding U.S. troops in Syria is one of those things that’s difficult to put in a “good” or “bad” box. So here are some key analysis points.

“I campaigned on the fact that I was going to bring our soldiers home and bring them home as rapidly as possible,” Trump said. That may be true, but commitments made by political neophytes in the heat of a campaign are not always wise to keep. It’s certainly not sufficient justification. Trump also reportedly “completely blindsided” the Pentagon with the announcement.

The U.S. is not withdrawing from Syria entirely. The shift of a relative handful of U.S. troops from one part of northeastern Syria is nowhere near as significant a move as Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s total abandonment of Iraq (also a campaign promise), which led directly to the creation of the Islamic State. Yet the U.S. has vital interests in containing the ISIS threat, and it is possible that Trump’s move will have an undesirable effect on this front. On the other hand, U.S. troops were in Syria for the sole objective of defeating ISIS. The caliphate is now destroyed, and Trump argues that means it’s time to come home.

Abandoning allies — in this case, the Kurds — is never a good look for America, and it will have foreign-policy ramifications elsewhere. For many years, the Kurds fought and died alongside U.S. troops in the fight against ISIS, while Turkish President Recep Erdogan has threatened to attack the Kurds in northeast Syria. Were U.S. troops the only thing holding him back? “The Kurds fought with us, but were paid massive amounts of money and equipment to do so,” Trump said. Yet that’s a crass transactional view of foreign policy.

Turkey, which seemingly has the green light for incursions into Syria, is being tested. Trump has taken on the NATO establishment, and Turkey’s membership in that defensive alliance as well as its efforts to join the European Union are now on full display. Either its increasingly authoritarian president will pass the test, or he will fail before the whole world. Trump promised major consequences for Turkey’s economy if it “does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits.” That’s ridiculously overwrought Bronx bluster at the wrong time, though Trump (probably) doesn’t actually think that; he’s just being Trump and, again, he’s testing Erdogan.

All of that said, it’s interesting to note an overall dynamic with this news. The Beltway Establishment is almost uniform in harshly criticizing Trump’s move. Sen. Lindsey Graham called it “shortsighted and irresponsible.” Rep. Liz Cheney decried it as “a catastrophic mistake.” House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi said it’s a “dangerous decision” that is both “reckless” and “misguided.” Of course, she didn’t seem to mind scumbag/liar-nObama’s Iraq withdrawal, and she’s too busy running the impeachment charade now to be taken seriously.

But we suspect the average American isn’t so keen on keeping our sons and daughters in harm’s way for a murky objective in Syria — as Trump put it, “to the benefit of people who don’t even like the USA.” After all, it’s less likely to be the loved ones of members of Congress spilling blood for their country than it is grassroots American Patriots.

In any case, Trump’s Syria decision isn’t black and white; it’s various shades of unappealing gray.   ~The Patriot Post
