Pulosi Voting For dummycrats-Dems
Gives Illegal Immigrants Leverage
{ rickwells.us } ~ House Minority Leader Nancy Pulosi claimed on Wednesday that a vote for the dummycrats-Democratic Party in the coming midterm elections... would provide “leverage” to illegal immigrants in the immigration debate. She made those comments during a press conference held in El Paso, Texas, with immigrant-rights advocates and Veronica Escobar, the dummycrats-Democratic nominee in Texas’ 16th congressional district. The minority leader officially journeyed to the region in order to gauge the impact of policies instituted by the Trump administration to mitigate unlawful border crossings. While discussing her opposition to the president’s zero tolerance policy on illegal immigration, which has since been rescinded, Pulosi was asked how long migrants, both lawful and unlawful, would have to wait for Congress to act on comprehensive reform. The congresswoman asserted she didn’t “want to be political” in her response, before alleging reform would be impossible as long as the Republican Party remained in control of Congress. Because this is the right thing to do, I have confidence that we will get where we need to go,” she said. “But everything is about time and we want to shorten the distance, as your question indicated, between what we think is inevitable for America, they think is inconceivable.”... Pulosi is totally wrong on the issues.  https://rickwells.us/pelosi-democrats-illegal-leverage/

Pompeo told North Korea to cut its
nuclear arsenal by 60 to 70 percent

{ vox.com } ~ The Trump administration has presented North Korea with a formal timeline for starting the process of denuclearization... and Pyongyang has rejected it several times. It shows that even after months of talks, Washington and Pyongyang have made little progress toward ending the North Korean nuclear threat. The details of the US-proposed timeline, which have not previously been reported, are as follows: North Korea hands over 60 to 70 percent of its nuclear warheads within six to eight months; the US or a third party — likely another country — takes possession of them and removes them from North Korea. It’s unclear what concessions, if any, the US would offer in exchange beyond sanctions relief or removing North Korea from the state sponsors of terrorism list. According to two people familiar with the discussions, this is the plan that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has presented to North Korean negotiators multiple times over the past two months. But each time, the North Korean negotiators, led by Kim Yong Chol — a top aide to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un — have turned down Pompeo’s proposal. Further complicating matters, North Korea hasn’t yet disclosed to the United States exactly how many nuclear bombs it even has. So even if North Korean negotiators did agree to the US timeline and handed over what it says is 60 to 70 percent of its arsenal, it would be difficult to verify that...   https://www.vox.com/2018/8/8/17663746/pompeo-north-korea-nuclear-60-70

{ theconservativetreehouse.com } ~ There’s something about the construct of these releases that just doesn’t pass the proverbial sniff test... John Solomon – Sara Carter – and Byron York – each writing articles from what appears to be the same sourcing and reference framework; however, each being very opaque in describing their sourcing and context. The transparent lack of providing the sourcing context who is providing the information/documents and why are they providing it, for their seemingly coordinated articles has the historic hallmark of  controlled narrative distribution. I’ll come back to that…. for now, let’s look at the Solomon release where he provides the documents to support his authorship. The key takeaway within the 2017 communication between Bruce Ohr and Chris Steele, seemingly glossed over amid the granular presentation, is that Christopher Steele viewed Special Counsel Robert Mueller as part of the “small group team.”  The fact that Steele viewed Mueller as an extension of the Strzok, Comey, Page and McCabe objective is a rather big deal, yet generally not given much attention....

{ freebeacon.com } ~ Anti-Semitic incidents on U.S. college campuses have continued to grow in 2018, with at least 384 recorded incidents in the first half of this year... according to a new report showing the number of genocidal expressions towards Jewish hit new highs on campuses across the United States. A new report by released Wednesday by pro-Israel organization the AMCHA Initiative, a group that tracks anti-Israel and anti-Semitic activity on college campuses, shows that much of the anti-Semitism on U.S. campuses is the result of activity by anti-Israel activists who promote imagery such as swastikas and tropes calling for the destruction of the Jewish people, according to the report. Genocidal expression, such as images and language promoting the killing of Jews and destruction of Israel, "rose dramatically" over the past years, with at least 75 percent of such incidents "involving classic anti-Semitism" and "genocidal expression," according to the report. The number of such incidents appear to have dropped slightly from 2017 to the first part of 2018, the report notes. Most notably, according to the report, "Israel-related incidents were significantly more likely to contribute to a hostile campus," the report found...This is really sad. Are we becoming Germany of the '30s. Our students are being brainwashed and that needs to change.

Number of Illegal Border Crossers Falls
for Second Month in a Row

{ freebeacon.com } ~ The number of individuals apprehended trying to cross the border with Mexico fell for the second successive month in July... new data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection show. 31,303 individuals were apprehended trying to cross the border between ports of entry or at a port of entry without proper authorization. This is a decline from June, when 34,000 were apprehended. June, in turn, followed three straight months of more than 50,000 apprehensions. The July drop actually deviates from the trend over the past five years, which—with the exception of FY 2014—have consistently seen numbers of apprehensions remain roughly constant between June and July. This makes last month's decline distinct from the June one, which itself was basically in line with recent trends and likely driven by the changing seasons as much as anything...

{ townhall.com } ~ Every president since George Washington has suffered from a critical press.

John F. Kennedy canceled all White House subscriptions to the New York Herald Tribune because of coverage he regarded as unfavorable. President liar-nObama, who was almost universally adored by mainstream media, sometimes complained he wasn't getting all the credit he thought he deserved for his policies; never mind that in many cases -- liar-nObamacare is just one example -- liberal media rarely criticized him when those policies faltered.

New York Times columnist David Brooks once remarked that he believed liar-nObama would be a great president simply because he observed during an interview with the then-senator that he had a fine crease in his pants. No bias there.

President Trump has taken media criticism to new heights or depths, depending on your perspective, calling any questioning or opposition to his policies "fake news" and labeling the press an "enemy of the people."

The publisher of The New York Times, A.G. Sulzberger, recently met with the president and told him his comments were encouraging dictators to persecute and suppress independent media coverage of their regimes and worse, putting American journalists at risk of physical harm. Sulzberger said the Times was forced to hire armed guards to protect employees.

Media bias has long been a complaint, especially among conservatives. Reporters and others in the media usually associate with like-minded members of their "tribe" and so either deliberately separate themselves from the majority of the nation in "flyover country," or oppose the values, faith and politics practiced by many. Generally they only read or watch each other's work. How do I know? A columnist for the Times once asked me if I am still writing this column. I read his but clearly he doesn't read mine, or probably most other conservatives'.

Examples of bias, whether in the way stories are covered, or ignored, are legion. One doesn't have to visit only conservative websites, such as the Media Research Center and its sister publication Newsbusters to find examples.

While columnists enjoy greater freedom than reporters to express their opinions, some have crossed a line of decency that has apparently been erased for the Trump administration.

Last Sunday, New York Times columnist Frank Bruni published a hateful piece on Vice President Mike Pence. Bruni called Pence "self-infatuated. Also a bigot. Also a liar. Also cruel. To that brimming potpourri he adds two ingredients that Trump doesn't genuinely possess: the conviction that he's on a mission from God and a determination to mold the entire nation in the shape of his own faith, a regressive, repressive version of Christianity. Trade Trump for Pence and you go from kleptocracy to theocracy."

I have known Pence for 30 years and he is none of these things. Besides, even if he could impose his sincere and consistently practiced faith on the nation -- which he can't and probably doesn't want to -- what have secular progressives imposed on the nation since the '60s?

In the meeting between the president and Sulzberger, there was no indication that the publisher of America's most influential newspaper feels the need to examine the charges of bias made against his reporters, editors and columnists, or why virtually all appear to favor liberal dummycrats-Democrats.

Journalism is unlike any other profession, because it is the only one that doesn't seem to care what its readers and viewers think. It is like a parent forcing a child to take bad-tasting medicine because "it is good for you."

This attitude has fueled declining TV ratings and, sadly, a drop in newspaper subscriptions, but apparently too many in the profession would rather criticize customers, or more accurately former customers, than change. That is bad for the profession and for the country, which needs strong journalism. Journalism that mostly promotes a single worldview and disparages all others is not journalism. It is propaganda.
