20,000 U.S. troops deploying to Europe
in biggest show of force since Cold War

{ washingtontimes.com } ~ About 20,000 U.S. troops will soon begin flooding into Europe as part of a massive, months-long military exercise that has been compared to the massive drills of the Cold War era... drills that were meant to help NATO forces beat back a hypothetical invasion from the Soviet Union. Defender-Europe 20 is the largest military deployment to Europe in 25 years, military officials say. It is scheduled to run from April to July with operations occurring throughout parts of Germany, along with countries like Poland and the Baltic States that once were part of the Warsaw Pact. About 17,000 troops from 18 other NATO countries will take part in the U.S.-led division-level exercise. NATO officials insist that no individual nation in the target of the massive exercise, but private analysts say the Kremlin will be taking copious notes as the forces deploy. “Readiness is not only about having the right forces and capabilities in place throughout the theater. It’s about exercising our ability to quickly receive forces with our own and those of our allies and partners,” Lt. Gen. Christopher Cavoli, commander of U.S. Army Europe, said in a statement. “This ability is critical in projecting force at a moment’s notice. Our readiness reassures our allies and deters potential adversaries.” With its history, its location on Russia’s doorstep, and its strong support of U.S. military operations in the region since becoming a NATO member, Poland is expected to play a major role in Defender-Europe 20.“This exercise is not just symbolic. It gets to the heart of what we mean when we talk about collective European security,” said Georgette Mosbacher, U.S. Ambassador to Poland. “In a crisis, NATO must be able to respond as quickly as possible. Defender-Europe 20 simply could not happen without Poland.” Bradley Bowman, senior director of the Center on Military and Political Power at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), said he was asked repeatedly on a trip to Germany late last year whether the Trump administration still had an interest in the security of Europe. { thefederalist.com } ~ A few minutes of serious thought from self-described environmentalists would prompt a realization that if the Green New Deal, a program championed by Rep. commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, were implemented, it would create an environmental disaster... In recent decades, policymakers have forced public utilities to generate increasingly more electricity from fashionable “renewable energy” sources, especially wind and solar, and pushed automakers to manufacture more electric vehicles. Their chief goal is to eliminate reliable, affordable, generally clean fossil fuels, including natural gas, even though they generate most of America’s electricity and power most U.S. transportation. Environmentalists claim to worry that carbon dioxide from these fuels will cause devastating global warming. Many would also eliminate nuclear power, which they say is inherently unsafe. As I argue in a new Heartland Institute policy study, however, environmentalists have paid too little attention to the serious harm Green New Deal policies would inflict on the environment — including scenic lands, wildlife habitats, and threatened and endangered species. Implementing the Green New Deal would undermine the very values environmentalists have espoused for decades. America faces a dilemma. Will it focus on real environmental problems that do measurable harm to human and ecological wellbeing, or will it mandate policies to head off climate disasters that are based on warming predictions have been repeatedly proven wrong by real-world empirical observations? Will it recognize that harnessing intermittent, weather-dependent wind and solar energy requires enormous amounts of raw materials and mining, resulting in massive land-use impacts and human rights abuses, and is anything but clean, green, renewable, and sustainable? In a subsequent interview with Lou Dobbs, House Intel Committee ranking member Devin Nunes noted the activity of Mueller’s 19 lawyers was likely to come under scrutiny now, as people start to ask common sense questions. Ex. what were these DOJ lawyers doing for over two years if there was zero evidence of any Trump-Russia collusion? Marines Will Soon Reveal Plans to Divest Old Systems, Invest in New Tech to Fight China

{ news.usni.org } ~ The Marine Corps is on a course to overhaul its force design in just a matter of years to better position itself to deter and, if needed, defeat China in the Pacific, the commandant said today... The outcomes of two future force reviews should be publicly released within the next month, he said, though they’re currently waiting for final approval from the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Gen. David Berger, who took over as commandant just seven months ago, said today that he expects to divest of legacy equipment that doesn’t support the Expeditionary Advance Base Operations (EABO) concept, invest in new small amphibious ships for dispersed operations and make lethality and survivability upgrades to traditional amphibs in the coming years, all to counter a Chinese force that is more active at sea and that tries to deny American forces access with long-range weapons. The Fiscal Year 2021 budget request, released yesterday, recommends investing in the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) and Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) and making enhancements to the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) to support EABO. It would also divest of “vehicles, radars, planned modifications/upgrades and other equipment” – including the Air Defense Radar, Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle and Amphibious Assault Vehicles – that do not support high-end expeditionary operations. Berger said today while speaking at an annual Amphibious Warship Industrial Base Coalition breakfast that these changes show the Marines’ agility and the operational imperative to evolve quickly. “Now that’s not the safe way to go. The safe way to go is holding what you’ve got” until you have replacements, he said of the current plans to ditch legacy systems now. “But I am absolutely 100-percent confident that if we took the safe way we would be outpaced in five years. We will not do that.”In searching for ways to free up money to reinvest elsewhere, Berger said, he looked for places where, “if you’re going to divest of some capability, is there a mixture of other capabilities that you can make up for that in the short term? And it’s not a gamble at all, it is all fed by wargaming and modeling: if you take away this capability, how does the fight go? What tactics do you need to change? What structure do you need to change? { clarionproject.org } ~ A Hollywood-like spy story has been brewing beneath the surface in the world of Mixed Martial Arts surrounding the biggest manager in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)... UFC manager Ali Abdelaziz, used to be in a terror-tied cult known as Jammat ul-Fuqra. Abdelaziz manages some of the most high-profile fighters, including UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Frankie Edgar, Renzo Gracie, Henry Cejudo and Rashad Evans. Fuqra, known more commonly as Muslims of the Americas (MOA), is most known for claiming to have 22 “Islamic villages” in the U.S., including its 70-acre “Islamberg” headquarters in upstate New York. Abdelaziz was arrested for his crimes connected to the jihad group in 2001, and subsequently became Confidential Informant 184 for the NYPD and FBI. The U.S. government eventually began to distrust him, resulting in the FBI’s termination of him as a source in 2008, followed by the NYPD in 2010. The U.S. government began trying to deport him, and that’s when Abdelaziz approached Martin Mawyer, president of the Christian Action Network, to tell part of his mysterious story. After Mawyer published excerpts from his interview with Abdelaziz, a fatwa “came down” from terror cult’s leader in Pakistan, Sheikh Gilani, approving of his assassination, according to credible MOA-affiliated sources. Mawyer and Mauro have also been told of threats to their lives for their work exposing the cult. Today, Abdelaziz is often seen by millions watching UFC events and sports coverage on their television screens. Adviser to Iran’s Khamenei is looking
to 'raze Tel Aviv to the ground'

{ jpost.com } ~ Ahead of the governments of France and Germany congratulating Iran’s regime on its Islamic revolution this week... an Iranian politician who advises the supreme leader said his nation was looking for an excuse to obliterate Tel Aviv. Mohsen Rezaee said: “We would raze Tel Aviv to the ground for sure. We have been looking for such a pretext,” according to a translation from the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). He added that, “if they the US do something, we can use it as a pretext to attack Israel.” According to MEMRI, Rezaee is the secretary of Iran's Expediency Council and a former IRGC's commander-in-chief. His comment about razing Tel Aviv was aired during an interview on Mayadeen TV (Lebanon) on February 8. Rezaee said that: "We would raze Tel-Aviv to the ground for sure. We have been looking for such a pretext. If they do something, we can use it as a pretext to attack Israel, because Israel played a role in the martyrdom of Gen. Qasem Soleimani. It was the Israelis who reported about the martyr Soleimani's trip from Damascus to Baghdad. We were waiting for the Americans to give us a pretext to strike Tel-Aviv, just like we attacked Ayn Al-Assad.” The US government assassinated Soleimani in January. He was the head of Iran’s Quds Force and responsible for the murders of over 600 US military personnel in the Middle East, according to the US government. The US and the EU classified Soleimani as a foreign terrorist. Rezaee serves as advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
