A Fraud’ Over Americans

{dailycaller.com} ~ A host of Republican congressional members gathered outside the Capitol Building on Tuesday to express opposition to a pair of anti-gun pieces of legislation... that House Democrats are poised to bring to the floor for a vote. “They’re bills that Democrats are putting on the floor under the guise of saying that they’re going to address issues related to gun violence — neither one of these bills would have done anything to stop some of the tragedies that we have seen,” Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney told a crowd, referring to the Bipartisan Background Checks Act (HR 8) and the Enhanced Background Checks Act (HR 1112). The House is expected to vote on HR 8 and HR 1112 by Friday, which would require a  background check for nearly every firearm purchase and a 10-day waiting period for firearm sales, respectively. While neither bill specifically calls for a national gun registry, GOP lawmakers argue neither could be enforced without a federal database in place. “HR 8 is taking the fears and concerns of a nation over gun violence and perpetrating a fraud over them,” said Republican Georgia Rep. Doug Collins, the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee. “Democrats are preying upon the very victims that they’re wanting to supposedly help by putting a bill out there that will not help them, by constantly bringing up the mass violence instances such as at schools and theaters and others — they’re saying this will help.”... Background checks are on the books already.
If the Hanoi talks break down,
the fault rests with Kim

{thehill.com} ~ The U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, Stephen Biegun, was recently touted in the media as a good man with an impossible task... There are two implications wrapped up in this assertion. The first is that Biegun cannot achieve U.S. strategic objectives through negotiations with North Korea. The second is that he, and ultimately President Trump, will be responsible for failure at the forthcoming summit with Kim Jong Un in Hanoi and beyond. Both are false. Let’s begin by noting something that should by now be obvious, if unpopular: If this process fails, it will not be for the lack of effort on the part of the Trump administration. Biegun is doing his best to play the hand he’s been dealt. And Donald Trump as he himself tweeted, has done  more to engage Pyongyang than any president before him. Indeed, should this process break down, as many predict, the responsibility will be Kim Jong Un’s. Kim has a rare opportunity to make the right strategic choice for the Korean people. In return for giving up his nuclear weapons, the U.S., the Republic of Korea, and much of the international community are willing to help him build a country that would share in the success of its Asian neighbors. Kim is likely to reject such a deal in the end. Trump and Biegun will almost certainly be blamed for not understanding the very nature of the North Korean leadership. After all, it is the nature of Kim Jong-un and the Kim family regime to reject American overtures. Indeed, the regime’s DNA is hard wired to viscerally distrust, fear, and hate the U.S. ...  https://thehill.com/opinion/international/431549-if-the-hanoi-talks-break-down-the-fault-rests-with-kim

Meghan McCain: Democrats Choose
To Be The Party Of Infanticide

{thefederalist.com} ~ “The View” cohost Meghan McCain called out leaders of the Democratic Party on Tuesday for voting down the Born Alive Survivor’s Protection Act in the Senate Monday night... and for the party’s growing extremism on abortion. “Eighty percent of Americans support abortion being limited to the first three months of a pregnancy. If Democrats want to win an election going forward, are you going to be the party of late-term abortion? The party of infanticide? Let me finish, please,” McCain said, arguing with co-host Sunny Hostin. “When you’re talking about children and you’re talking about being pro-life, this is well out of the mainstream of where Americans are at.”The proposed legislation does not restrict abortion in any way, but would require doctors to provide medical care to an infant who survives an abortion attempt, in the same way they would provide care for any other human being. Democratic presidential candidates scumbag-Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth dinky-Warren, and comkie-Bernie Sanders all voted against the bill. “If you think that is how you win back the White House, I’m here to tell you, I spent a lot of time in red states. I’m from a red state. That is a losing argument,” McCain said...

by clarionproject.org:   Hezbollah terrorists, cells and activists are operating in, or were recently active in, more than a dozen countries across Latin America, including Mexico on the U.S. border... Clarion Project researchers discovered an actual Hezbollah presence in at least 14 states, with clear involvement in others. This post focuses on those 14 countries, but in several additional states Hezbollah is working with drugs cartels, and in the case of Suriname, the president’s son was jailed for 16 years for inviting Hezbollah to operate on Surinamese territory. Iranian-funded Hezbollah’s reach in North, Central and South America stretches far and wide, from Argentina and Chile to Mexico. The organization has operatives in all these countries, many of whom are trained and armed and in some cases have already carried out terror attacks. As the map shows, Hezbollah has, or until very recently had, a presence in Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua,  Belize, Panama, Guyana, Brazil, Venezuela, Paraguay, Bolivia, Argentina, Peru, Uruguay and Chile... And yet, some states say theres no crisis.  https://clarionproject.org/exclusive-terror-cells-on-us-doorstep/

Federal Report Finds U.S. Department
of Education a Massive Failure

{independent.org} ~ A new report raises questions about how the U.S. Department of Education monitors the performance of its wide-ranging elementary and secondary education programs... The department currently receives $38 billion for its major K-12 education programs. Yet the assessment says those programs are plagued by “complex and persistent” challenges, many of which have been identified previously, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), the official “congressional watchdog” charged with ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently. Specifically, the GAO identified four key shortcomings in the department: oversight and monitoring, data quality, capacity, and evaluation methodologies. As the GAO makes clear, it is not the only oversight agency raising concerns about the department’s program management. What’s more, such problems have plagued our federal education departments since the first one took form back in 1867.The GAO found that various education department offices failed to document consistently required monitoring activities in their official grant files. For example, its review of 75 grants totaling $21 million in discretionary funding revealed that “almost all” of them “were missing key monitoring documents, including grantee performance reports, which describe the results grantees achieve with grant funds,” according to the GAO...  http://www.independent.org/news/article.asp?id=11731

by Nate Jackson:  Kids wearing MAGA hats = bad. Kids demanding leftist policies = good.

Such is the simple lesson Democrats want us to learn when they trot out teens and elementary children to parrot leftist propaganda about the issue du jour. Last year, it was the Parkland pawns marching for leftist gun control after the horrific mass murder at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. This week, it’s kids showing up to protest at various Senate offices to hawk the $90 trillion boondoggle known as the Green New Deal.

The Sunrise Movement specifically uses kids to advocate ecofascist policies because (A) as one kid put it, “you’re looking at the faces of the people who are going to be living with the consequences,” and (B) it’s always difficult to oppose what kids are saying without looking like an uncaring ogre. Sen. Dianne Fein-stein (D-CA) certainly came off as a condescendingly arrogant and grouchy old lady in pushing back against the rehearsed lines and phony anger thrust at her by a group of kids. See the video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cd3H1boPIIE

But haven’t we all learned by now to beware selectively edited videos? Clearly, we’re no fans of Fein-stein, but the full video shows this to be a pretty amicable meeting of likeminded folks.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell certainly is aware of these tactics. He refused to meet with protesters, and some of them ended up getting arrested.

Finally, speaking of children with childish dreams, commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the most prolific proponent of the Green New Deal, spent her first day on Capitol Hill back in November protesting with the Sunrise Movement outside Nancy Pulosi’s office. Pulosi later famously called the GND “the green dream or whatever they call it.” And that’s the same commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who said of the climate-change threat, “I think young people … have a legitimate question. Ya know, should — is it okay to still have children?”

Maybe it’s not a great idea to put national policy in the hands of people banging on highchairs — or the hands of children used as pawns by those people, either.   ~The Patriot Post
