When the Press Loses Credibility

Trump Yet to Act on Immigration
Concern has begun to mount among various conservatives over the fact that Donald Trump has not yet kept one of his more significant campaign promises. At a speech in late August last year, Trump vowed to "immediately terminate President liar-nObama's two illegal executive amnesties, in which he defied federal law and the constitution to give amnesty to approximately five million illegal immigrants." Trump was referring to DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents), two of Barack liar-nObama's most lawless executive actions enacted in June 2012.
When Trump spokesman Sean Spicer was asked about why the new president had not rescinded DACA and DAPA, he answered, "'First and foremost, the president's been very, very clear that we need to direct agencies to focus on those who are in this country illegally and have a criminal record or pose a threat to the American people. That's where the priorities are going to be and then we're going to continue to work through the entire number of folks that are here illegally. But right now the clear focus is on that." In other words, hang on and we'll get to it.
Yesterday, Chris Wallace of Fox News asked White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus a similar question regarding liar-nObama's executive orders on amnesties. Priebus hinted at a long-term solution: "I think we're going to work with House and Senate leadership as well to get a long-term solution on that issue." Once again the answer was "wait."
So, what's happening here? Has that infamous Beltway water begun to so infect the Trump administration that they're no longer concerned about the problem of illegal immigration? Not likely. For one thing, consider Trump's speaking style, which is typically hyperbolic. The mainstream media lampoon him for this and therefore can't take him seriously. However, the key to understanding Trump is listening to what he means while not getting hung up on the particulars of how he says it. Obviously, this is no simple task, nor is it an excuse to not hold him accountable for his campaign promises. Still, holding him to the "immediately" statement on timing a few days into his presidency and claiming he broke his promise fails to see the bigger picture.
Trump can't do everything "immediately." Various issues require priority of focus and logistical considerations as well as both public and private dealing, all of which are part of the way both businesses and politics function. Give him a little time before declaring that he has failed to keep a campaign promise.

{rickwells.us} ~ Lou Dobbs and Sheriff David Clarke start off their discussion of the Saturday Women’s March on DC with the aging troll up Madonna and her statement about blowing up the White House now that the occupant has changed... Sheriff Clarke feels she’s resorting to political activism as the only means for her to get attention anymore. He says, “She wasn’t taken out of context, we all heard it, she did that for shock value. Now she’s trying to walk it back. I think she should at least get a visit from either FBI agents or the Secret Service for some questioning to at least send a message to her that that kind of stuff will not go on during the Donald Trump administration, not just his but any president’s administration.” Dobbs describes being at the event and roughly thirty LGBT agitators, thugettes and female thugettes who “were menacing, chasing, pursuing, whatever, Pat McCrory, the former governor of North Carolina.” He thanks two of the DC police who, after a few minutes stepped in and told them to move along. Dobbs hints around the hostilities that took place towards which were captured in the second video below by the proud perpetrators. Persecuted for Not Bowing to Sharia

At issue is a letter anti-jihadism crusader Pamela Geller said she received from a military contractor named John Craig. Craig had been stationed in Afghanistan for five years and was working as a mechanical engineer at Bagram Air Field — that is, until he studied the Koran and rendered a politically incorrect opinion on it, he says. Craig states that he bought two copies of the Koran, one paperback and one hardback, because he was interested in studying Islam. Old U.S. enemy threatens 'war' if Trump moves embassy

Cruz and Poe Introduce Legislation
for States to Reject Refugees

{founderscode.com} ~ There is some additional help coming from the Trump administration as President Trump is likely to issue and sign executive order on immigration that will impact visa holders from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen... These are worn torn countries where hostilities continue with terror organizations. An issue that still remains however that Trump has not addressed is the asylum seekers. A bill to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to permit the Governor of a State to reject the resettlement of a refugee in that State unless there is adequate assurance that the alien does not present a security risk and for other purposes. New bill from Cruz, Poe would let states reject refugees. When the Press Loses Credibility

{townhall.com} ~ When is the press no longer the watchdog America’s founders intended to keep government accountable? When it reports and publishes unverified smears.
America’s founders believed that a free press was of such significance they granted it constitutional protection. Thomas Jefferson said, “Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.” The press was an integral ingredient to a free nation which Jefferson believed could be an unbiased watchdog to keep the government honest.
What happens, though, when the watchdog cannot be trusted?
On January 10, notably excited CNN journalists delivered “breaking news” that classified documents presented to the current and incoming presidents included allegations that Russians had compromising information about Donald Trump. Not long after, BuzzFeed apparently heard CNN’s dog whistle and published a 35-page dossier, which was really nothing more than a compilation of uncorroborated hogwash, obviously created to delegitimize Trump’s presidency.
The following day, NBC News reported a senior U.S. intelligence official disputed CNN’s claims. The official said Trump was not briefed on the dossier and claims “no investigations found any conclusive or direct link between Trump and the Russian government.” Later, Trump tweeted that National Intelligence director James Clapper “called me yesterday to denounce the false and fictitious report that was illegally circulated.”
Calling it a dossier is about as big of a stretch as BuzzFeed editor Ben Smith’s justification for publishing it. Smith wrote, “Publishing this document was not an easy or simple call, and people of good will may disagree with our choice. But publishing this dossier reflects how we see the job of reporters in 2017.” BuzzFeed’s irresponsible decision gave Americans one more reason to distrust the press and made it harder for the press at large to hold the new administration accountable.
WikiLeaks was ruthlessly attacked for publishing corroborated, authenticated information about liar-Hillary Clinton, but it is somehow OK for CNN to hold the door of innuendo open and for BuzzFeed to run through and publish uncorroborated rumors about Trump.
WikiLeaks laid bare the truth about what regular Americans already suspected. It exposed a sinister collusion between the press, CNN specifically, and the liar-Clinton campaign. Leaked emails revealed former CNN contributor Donna Brazile leaked debate questions to help liar-Clinton. The emails also exposed that the Democratic National Committee colluded with CNN about what kind of interview questions Wolf Blitzer should ask Donald Trump.
Twenty years after his original comments about the press, an obviously much wiser Thomas Jefferson wrote in 1807 to newspaper editor John Norvell: “To your request of my opinion of the manner in which a newspaper should be conducted, so as to be most useful, I should answer, ‘by restraining it to true facts and sound principles only.’ Yet I fear such a paper would find few subscribers. It is a melancholy truth, that a suppression of the press could not more completely deprive the nation of its benefits, than is done by its abandoned prostitution to falsehood. Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle.”
Apparently, some things never change.
