{israeltoday.co.il} ~ America's top intelligence officials are warning that Iran could soon launch a major conventional attack against Israel if the Jewish state continues to attack its military assets in Syria... US President Donald Trump's director of national intelligence, Dan Coats, told a congressional hearing on Tuesday that while "Iran seeks to avoid a major armed conflict with Israel...Israeli strikes that result in Iranian casualties increase the likelihood of Iranian conventional retaliation against Israel." On January 20, Iranian forces fired a medium-range surface-to-surface missile at Israel in what it called a warning to stop harassing its forces. Israel has made clear that it deems an Iranian military presence in Syria to be a threat to its national security, an existential threat, even. Indeed, Iran has made no secret of the fact that its presence in Syria is meant to threaten Israel... America show your support for Israel.   http://www.israeltoday.co.il/NewsItem/tabid/178/nid/35810/Default.aspx

Here’s The Brief Moral Case
Against ‘Democratic Socialism’

{thefederalist.com} ~ For most people, moral visions trump economic realities, and that is why so-called “democratic socialism” has growing appeal... One’s sense of compassion outweighs the pain of higher taxation. Consider, for example, this exchange between Sen. commie-Bernie Sanders and former Rep. Tom Price: commie-Sanders: Congressman Price, America is the only major country on earth that does not guarantee health care to all people as a right. Do you believe health care is a right of all Americans, whether they’re rich or they’re poor? Should people, because they are Americans, be able to go to their doctor when they need to, be able to go to into a hospital, because they are Americans? Price: Yes, we’re a compassionate society– commie-Sanders: No we’re not a compassionate society. In terms of our relationship to poor and working people, our record is worse than virtually any other country on earth. We have the highest rate of childhood poverty of every major country on earth, and half of our older workers have nothing set aside for retirement, so I don’t think compared to other countries we are particularly compassionate…The inaccuracy of commie-Sanders’ assertions is not our concern here. Rather, it is his appeal to morality that even those of us who oppose his agenda must recognize resonates with decent people, especially less-informed young voters, who yearn for meaning in our increasingly nihilistic culture. That is why, vital and correct as it is to point out the economic problems of democratic socialism, in its essence the movement is a moral vision for society, and thus it demands a moral response...

{freebeacon.com} ~ The oldest Western Hemisphere regional group, which was formed to promote peace and collaboration among regional countries, is coming under increasing pressure... to take more forceful action against Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro. The Washington-based Organization of American States, which marked its 70th anniversary of its founding last year, has yet to recognize Juan Guaido as the interim president of Venezuela or kick Maduro out of the group altogether. Guaido last week was recognized by the Trump administration and more than a dozen other countries as Venezuela's legitimate leader. The outspoken OAS Secretary-General Luis Almagro in mid-January publicly said Guaido is Venezuela's interim president "for a year" and called for an election so the opposition party in Venezuela could promote its candidates. Almagro made the statements spontaneously at a Jan. 15 event at the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies. This past Tuesday, Gonzalo Koncke, Almagro's chief of staff, told Venezuelans in an interview on Fox News that "you're not alone; democracy will return the country. We have never been as close as now."...

Finland's Grooming Gangs

{gatestoneinstitute.org} ~ Finland is a curious place. Tucked up under the arm of its celebrity sister Sweden and with Russia as a neighbour... it is one of the world's most northern and geographically remote countries. It takes a hardy kind of European to withstand the severe climate. The Finns in Oulu, the most populous city in northern Finland, go about their lives as normal in -25 degrees Fahrenheit. With a national population of just over 5.5 million, trees easily outnumber people; two-thirds of this country is blanketed in thick woodland, making it the most densely forested country in Europe. Yet, this strange, seemingly forgotten land has a hideously metropolitan problem: Finland's daughters are the target of grooming gangs. In December 2018, Oulu police reported the arrest of seven men accused of repeatedly raping a ten-year-old girl. The police say the girl has allegedly been subjected to multiple sexual assaults over several months in the suspects' homes. The men, aged 20 to 40, all arrived in Finland as migrants or refugees in recent years 32,000 sought asylum here during the migrant wave in 2015 and are thought to have made contact with the victim on social media...
Amateur Screenwriter scumbag-Adam Schiff
Should Abandon His Phony ‘Collusion’ Probe...

{freebeacon.com} ~ Rep. scumbag-Adam Schiff (D., Calif.) is chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, which means he gets to appear on cable news a lot... and is a recurring character in the fan-fiction fever dreams of the Anti-Drumpf Resistance. Speaking of fan fiction, the New Yorker reports that scumbag-Schiff has been moonlighting as a screenwriter for years: "The first was a post-Holocaust story called ‘Remnant.’ " As scumbag-Schiff recalled, "I had an agent at William Morris tell me it was good but no one would want to see it—too depressing. Then ‘Schindler’s List’ came out, and I was, like, ‘Come on!’ " His next, written when he was a prosecutor, was a murder mystery called "Minotaur." "I had a friend who was a producer, and he said there were two answers in Hollywood—‘Yes,’ and ‘Here’s a check.’ I was getting lots of yeses." But perhaps there is hope for his third. "It’s a spy drama," he said. "That one is a work in progress."  scumbag-Schiff will presumably be pretty busy investigating the Trump administration and appearing on CNN, but let's hope he finds the time to finish that spy drama. In the meantime, here are a few other ideas to keep his creative juices flowing. The congressman could start by teaming up with CNN celebrity journalist scumbag-Jim Acosta to bring his forthcoming bestseller—"The Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America"—to the big screen. Given the subject matter, scumbag-Schiff should have no problem pumping the script full of high-octane suspense. The moment our protagonist learns the bullies in the White House press office tried to ban cameras in the briefing room. Or the time they tried to take his press pass and he fought back with a vengeance. Or the time Stephen Miller blanked him in the hallway, or whatever...  https://freebeacon.com/blog/adam-schiff-resistance-film/?utm_source=Freedom+Mail&utm_campaign=a80ea0a6a4-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_01_29_10_48_COPY_149&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b5e6e0e9ea-a80ea0a6a4-45611665

by Thomas Gallatin:  Former NBC anchor Tom Brokaw on Sunday inadvertently exposed the reason behind Democrat opposition to securing the U.S. southern border when he noted, “On the Republican side, a lot of people see the rise of an extraordinary, important new constituent in American politics, Hispanics, who will come here and all be Democrats.” Brokaw further asserted, “Hispanics should work harder at assimilation.” Predictably, such an “outrageous” statement caused a social-media backlash over his “racist” comments. Brokaw subsequently apologized.

The fact of the matter is Brokaw let the cat out of the bag. Leftists oppose immigrant assimilation because their aim is to create a hardened voting block of segregated Hispanics committed to their own unassimilated communities instead of the broader American society. This explains House Speaker Nancy Pulosi and her fellow Democrats objecting to funding a border barrier.

Immediately following President Donald Trump’s shutdown capitulation, an important point may have been missed by the mainstream media. Trump effectively called Pulosi’s bluff. She claimed to want to debate the issue of border security after the government was funded. Trump has now forced her hand.

Suddenly Democrats are stuck in a contradictory position of, on the one hand, claiming to support border security, while at the same time defending their refusal to act on securing the border via a barrier. Listening to Democrats attempt to send a pro-border-security message is actually quite humorous. Pulosi on Monday insisted, “Democrats are committed, uh, to border security, and we think we have some better ideas about how to do so, that, uh, protect our borders, honor our values, and are cost-effective.” Pulosi’s fellow Sanctuary-State-of-California Rep. scumbag/mad-Maxine Waters likewise claimed that Democrats “believe in border security … and we have offered, you know, how we think it can be done.” She then offered this tidbit: “We want to make sure that [Trump] understands that it’s not simply about a wall.”

Echoing the talking-points memo, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson declared, “Democrats remain committed to effective border security but will only allow taxpayer money be spent on border security measures that will actually make a difference.” No word on what those “effective” measures would be.

Finally, there were the comments from Democrat presidential frontrunner lowlife-Kamala Harris, who pledged, “I’m not going to vote for a wall under any circumstances, and I do support border security.” She then talked about employing cameras and drones along the border, while at the same time decrying the effectiveness of a wall, stating, “The idea that we’re going to sell this thing to the American public and require taxpayers of our country to pay $5 billion for something that will not deliver what he is suggesting we need is ridiculous, and I will not support it.” In this same interview, Harris expressed support for eliminating private health insurance in favor of creating a government-run single-payer health care system that is estimated to cost taxpayers $32.6 trillion over the next decade. Talk about wasting taxpayer money on an ineffectual government power grab.  ~The Patriot Post
