Who Paid for That Dubious Trump/Russia Dossier?

Political Editors:  Last week, Fusion GPS founder Glen Simpson gave his written testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding the phony dossier about Donald Trump the company produced. The question that Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has asked repeatedly and has yet to receive an answer to is simple: Who originally paid Fusion GPS to investigate Trump? When the story came out last year, it was reported that a “wealthy Republican donor” was Fusion GPS’s original client. It was not until later that liar-Hillary Clinton’s campaign then hired the firm. Simpson, however, is still refusing to identify this client.
So, who is this mysterious individual? It’s looking less likely than ever that one of Trump’s Republican primary opponents is responsible. In fact, the “wealthy Republican donor” description doesn’t necessitate that the individual in question was actually a card-carrying member of the GOP, as it is a well-established practice that those with various business interests often donate to both parties to build political favorability. Trump has admitted to doing so himself.
A second curious angle to the dossier mystery regards the FBI’s involvement and use of
the discredited document. The Senate Judiciary Committee has sent repeated requests that the FBI make two of its top agents available for questioning on matters regarding the dossier. The FBI has so far refused. The question Grassley wants answered is whether the FBI used the dubious dossier as a pretext to gain FISA approval for surveillance of Trump campaign personnel.
There are many questions remaining that need answering before the truth behind the whole Russian election interference is fully understood and known. But what is pretty clear is that there is still no evidence of collusion~The Patriot Post

SESSIONS DOJ, FBI Obstruct Release Of liar-CLINTON
Docs Again – Claim Not Enough Public Interest
{rickwells.us} ~ Three questions need to be asked in light of a recent outrageous determination made by the FBI. Is this or is it not the Trump administration? Is Jeff Sessions the Trump “law and order” Attorney General?... Why in the world is the FBI still covering up for liar-Hillary Clinton and helping her escape justice? Once again a request to for access to the notorious liar-Clinton emails has been denied and the obstruction machinery continues to roll on. How deep does the corruption run and to what extent has it compromised the current administration, particularly the AG? What happened to the promise to “Lock her up” for her crimes? It’s looking more and more like the incredible situation when the American people all knew that Hussein liar-nObama was lying about who he was and no one would investigate. We all know liar-Clinton is guilty hundreds of times over and not a peep out of Sessions and company. When they do act, it’s as if Hussein liar-Obama is still pulling the strings...  http://rickwells.us/sessions-doj-fbi-obstruct-release-clinton-docs-claim-not-enough-public-interest/

California Democrat Maxine Waters
Charged on 3 Counts
by Alice Greene
{punchingbagpost.com} ~ The House Ethics Committee has finally charged Maxine Waters (D-CA) with corruption. Here’s what she did... In 2008, Maxine arranged a meeting between the Treasury Department and representatives of OneUnited bank - where her husband was a notable shareholder.  As a member of the House Financial Committee, she was able to directly contact then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson to speak with him about meeting with minority-owned banks. Through her efforts, OneUnited bank was able to obtain $12 million in federal bailout funding to help cover expected losses from the collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. If OneUnited had gone under, Maxine’s husband could have lost as much as $350,000. Oh, and she hired her own grandson Mikael Moore to work as her chief of staff...There's More.  http://punchingbagpost.com/california-democrat-maxine-waters-charged-on-3-counts

Radical Antifa Group Targets the Police
by Steve Byas
{thenewamerican.com} ~ Nationalization of the police is a longtime goal of the Left, and the targeting of local police by a violent Antifa group supports that goal... Since President Donald Trump responded to the recent violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, by condemning “hatred, bigotry, and violence on many sides,” it has become clear that the left-leaning media is going to cast the violent leftist Antifa movement as simply engaged in “resistance” to racist “hate groups,” such as the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis. Then all persons opposed to the Marxist agenda of Antifa are falsely portrayed as the same as those two groups. The reality is that Nazi is short for “National Socialist,” the political party of Adolf Hitler — a party of the Left in Germany that favored social welfare programs and heavy-handed government control of the economy and the culture...You knew this was coming https://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/item/26795-radical-antifa-group-targets-the-police

Putin Issues Alarming Orders at NK Border…
Things Just Escalated
by Martin Lioll
{conservativetribune.com} ~ The biggest sign from a world leader that trouble may be afoot on the Korean Peninsula after Kim Jong Un’s latest missile launch comes not from the crazy fat kid himself. Instead... Vladimir Putin made headlines when his Russian government quietly ordered 1,500 people out of a city close to the North Korean border. The U.K. Express reported that Russian media outlets announced the alarming evacuation shortly after the latest missile test by North Korea, which flew over the Japanese island of Hokkaido. A verbal order was given to relocate 1,500 people to safe areas,” Russian social media outlet Mash reported Tuesday afternoon. “The order came from the regional department of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies.”...  http://conservativetribune.com/developing-putin-issues-border/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium...

Limbaugh – Trump Isolated By Dems And
Failure-First GOP Sellouts In Congress
{rickwells.us} ~ Limbaugh takes a short but thorough trip back over the past eight-plus years since the liar-nObama nightmare first began and the ineptitudes and false promises of the Republicans began to come to the forefront... After gradually overtaking power from the Democrats and now holding both chambers of Congress as well as the White House, the Republicans have no more excuses and it is their worst nightmare come true. They have to govern, they have to fulfill their promises or be exposed for the frauds, legislative weaklings and do-nothing sellouts that used to hide behind the Democrats and make excuses. They’re still making excuses but it’s not helping their cause. It’s only continuing to expose them as the phonies they are. The clouds of misdirection and distraction have been lifted from their deception by the opportunity Americans have given them and their failure to make any moves towards capitalizing on it. They can’t govern, they can barely stand up on two legs...  http://rickwells.us/limbaugh-trump-isolated-dems-failure-first-gop-sellouts-congress/

Hurricane Harvey Drowns
the Left’s Big Government God
by Susan Stamper Brown
{
townhall.com} ~Democrat mayors are making quite a name for themselves these days.

Vote for one, and there’s a good chance you’ll be extremely disappointed.  You might even find yourself floating your kids down the road in a refrigerator like a guy in Houston did back in 2016, one year before Hurricane Harvey.

Back then, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner found himself standing in hot water with residents in an area of Houston prone to flooding who expected more from their mayor. One resident said, “We’re just frustrated. There was no help for us,” KHOU-TV News reported.

What’s happening in Houston now feels like it’s 2005 all over again. Former Democrat mayor, Ray Nagin discouraged New Orleans residents from evacuating like Mayor Turner who also encouraged Houston residents to stay put. Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, offered other advice: “Even if an evacuation order hasn’t been issued by your local official, if you’re in an area between Corpus Christi and Houston, you need to strongly consider evacuating.”

So, who is to blame for people stranded on rooftops?

While everyone wants to blame it on President Trump, as I’ve written before, the government is not our savior, so people need to get over the blame game and take care of themselves if they are physically and mentally able.

Those who don’t, join the rank of perpetual victims when they refuse to acknowledge that they are able, with God’s help, to take control over the rising water of their circumstances. Instead, they choose to assume zero responsibility for their situation and sit on the rooftop of their despair waiting for their government “savior” to rescue them. But it rarely does.

It is a lie to believe every malady known to man has absolutely nothing to do with poor choices, bad judgment or weak character. We cannot control nature, but we can make wise choices in the face of nature’s onslaught.

Mark my words, the left-leaning media will do their best to blame everything on President Trump the same way they blamed Bush for Katrina. Bush cut his vacation short to do a flyover of New Orleans, yet was accused of being a racist by those seeking to paint a sitting Republican president in the worst possible light.

Of course, they looked the other way in 2016 when former President liar-nObama continued to play golf at Martha’s Vineyard as if nothing were happening during the Baton Rouge flooding.

Don’t be surprised if NBC News’ Brian Williams shows up in Houston like he did in New Orleans. Williams and NBC News were awarded the Peabody award for misreporting un-facts about un-events the Washington Post said Williams perhaps “misremembered” the same way he misremembered his helicopter misadventure in Iraq. Williams was eventually demoted for the kind of tale telling one would expect to hear while eating smores around a campfire at Lake Wobegon.

Surely, the media will go fishing in the floods for a million ways to blame Trump, it is heartwarming to know that during a devastating time such as this we have a president who cares.

liar-nObama found time to pull away from Martha’s Vineyard to attend a posh liar-Hillary fundraiser, but was too busy to be comforter-in-chief in Baton Rouge. liar-nObama was just smoke-and-mirrors. As a senator, he condemned Bush as the “president who only saw the people from the window of an airplane instead of down here on the ground to provide comfort and aid…”

At least Bush showed up. And Trump too, wisely planning to visit locations hit by Harvey, while judiciously avoiding areas where his presence could interrupt evacuations or emergency response.

Unlike the guy whom leftists believed walked on water and who promised on his watch the planet would heal and the waters would recede. Looking at Houston right now, it obviously didn’t.

Newt Says What The Rest Of Us Are Thinking:
It’s Time To Throw Peter Strzok In Jail

Disgraced FBI special agent Peter Strzok, a senior member of the bureau who gained notoriety in recent months over his anti-Trump text messages to a colleague, was grilled for nearly 10 hours during a joint congressional committee hearing on Thursday.

At issue was Strzok’s anti-Trump texts to former FBI lawyer and lover Lisa Page that coincided with his leading of the investigations into both former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server scandal and the alleged Trump/Russia 2016 election collusion, as well as his involvement in the subsequent Robert Mueller special counsel probe.

The hearing proved to be a heated battle, as Strzok displayed an arrogant smugness in defiance of pointed questions from Republicans that he largely danced around, while Democrats sought to upend and undermine the entire hearing with a plethora of interruptions, parliamentary maneuvers and outright praise for the man who helped let Clinton off the hook while ferociously targeting Trump.

Former House speaker and presidential candidate Newt Gingrich was less than impressed with Strzok’s performance and cooperation in the hearing and suggested during an appearance on Fox Business that the FBI agent should be held in contempt of Congress.

“I think they have to move to hold him in contempt and throw him in jail,” Gingrich said of Congress and Strzok.

“This is a person who is willfully standing up and refusing to appear as a congressional witness and he was a government employee at the time,” he continued.

“He has every obligation to inform the legislative branch, and I don’t think they have any choice except to move a motion of contempt because he is fundamentally — and so is his girlfriend (Page) — they’re both fundamentally in violation of the entire constitutional process,” he added.

Page had been subpoenaed to appear before Congress on Wednesday but refused to appear, saying she’d been unable to review relevant documents prior to the scheduled hearing, a closed-door hearing that has since been rescheduled for Friday.

Gingrich was not the only one who thought Strzok deserved to be held in contempt of Congress, as House Judiciary Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte informed Strzok that he remained at risk of such during the hearing, according to The Daily Caller.

That warning from Goodlatte came after Strzok had refused to answer a straightforward question posed by House Oversight Committee chairman Trey Gowdy, regarding how many people Strzok had personally interviewed between a specific set of dates in relation to the Clinton email investigation.

“Mr. Strzok, please be advised that you can either comply with the committee’s direction to answer the question or refuse to do so,” Goodlatte stated. “The latter of which will place you in risk of a contempt citation and potential criminal liability. Do you understand that? The question is directed to the witness.”

Strzok still refused to answer, citing instructions received from his counsel and the FBI to not answer certain questions on certain topics.

Goodlatte replied, “Mr. Strzok, in a moment we will continue with the hearing, but based on your refusal to answer the question, at the conclusion of the day we will be recessing the hearing and you will be subject to recall to allow the committee to consider proceeding with a contempt citation.”

It is unclear if Goodlatte and the committee ultimately did consider a contempt citation for Strzok following the contentious hearing, nor is it clear if Page will be held in contempt for blowing off her subpoenaed appearance on Wednesday.

Hopefully Congress will follow through on the threats of contempt followed by actual jail time against Strzok and Page in response to their uncooperative behavior and failure to appear when subpoenaed, if only to ensure that future witnesses called before Congress for sensitive or contentious hearings don’t think they can get away with the same sort of behavior.

Cops Sent To Seize Veteran’s Guns Without A Warrant, He Refused To Turn Them Over

“No one from the state was going to take my firearms without due process,” says Leonard Cottrell, after successfully staving off law enforcement and the courts from confiscating his firearms. Cottrell, an Iraq War veteran, was at work when he received a phone call from his wife. The cops were there, busting in to take his guns away. It all started after a casual conversation his son had at school.

Ammoland reports:

Police said their visit was sparked by a conversation that Leonard Cottrell Jr.’s 13-year-old son had had with another student at the school. Cottrell said he was told his son and the other student were discussing security being lax and what they would have to do to escape a school shooting at Millstone Middle School.

The conversation was overheard by another student, who went home and told his parents, and his mother panicked. The mom then contacted the school, which contacted the State Police, according to Cottrell.

The visit from the troopers came around 10 p.m. on June 14, 2018, Cottrell said, a day after Gov. Phil Murphy signed several gun enforcement bills into law.

After several hours, Cottrell said police agreed not to take the guns but to allow him to move them to another location while the investigation continued.

“They had admitted several times that my son made no threat to himself or other students or the school or anything like that,” he said.

Cottrell said he made it very clear to the police that he was “not going to willingly give up my constitutional rights where there’s no justifiable cause, no warrants, no nothing.”

The troopers searched his son’s room and found nothing, Cottrell said.

“To appease everybody, I had my firearms stored someplace else,” he said. “That way, during the course of the investigation, my son doesn’t have access to them and it’s on neutral ground and everything and everybody’s happy.”

“In the Garden State, the usual approach is to confiscate first and ask questions later, and victims of this approach often don’t know their rights. ‎In this case, the victim pushed back and confiscation was avoided — but the circumstances surrounding the incident are outrageous. A student expressing concern over lack of security is not a reason to send police to the student’s home — but it might be a reason to send police to the school to keep students and teachers safe” said Scott L. Bach, executive director of the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs and a member of the NRA board of directors.

NJ.com adds:

Cottrell, a disabled U.S. Army veteran who served three tours during “Operation Iraqi Freedom,” owns a shotgun and a pistol. He has all the correct permits to own the firearms, he said, and predominately uses the shotgun to hunt.

He said his wife allowed the officers to enter the home, and with her permission, they searched his son’s room — but they did not find any weapons, he said. The officers, he said, didn’t have a warrant but still wanted to take his guns. Cottrell wouldn’t let them.

“No one from the state was going to take my firearms without due process,” he said Thursday.

He said the attempted seizure resulted because of a new law Gov. Phil Murphy signed into law that makes it easier for police to confiscate guns when someone in the state poses a threat to themselves or others. The law is part of a broader statewide effort to make New Jersey’s gun laws even tougher amid the national outcry for more gun control in the wake of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

Cottrell said the officers “danced around the issue” when he confronted them about the new law.

A New Jersey State Police spokesman declined to answer questions about whether this incident had anything to do with the new gun laws.

In an email, Sgt. First Class Jeff Flynn said, “Troopers responded to Mr. Cottrell’s residence in reference to the report of a possible school threat. Based on their investigation, it was determined that Mr. Cottrell’s weapons did not need to be seized.”

David Codrea, writing for Ammoland, further added:

To appease everybody, I had my firearms stored someplace else,” New Jersey gun owner and Army veteran Leonard Cottrell Jr. told New Jersey 101.5 after a June 14 visit from State Police,. “That way, during the course of the investigation, my son doesn’t have access to them and it’s on neutral ground and everything and everybody’s happy.”

Cottrell was recalling state troopers showing up at his door to confiscate firearms after his 13-year-old son was overheard discussing lax school safety with a friend.

Indoctrinated by a pervasive snitch culture — one that never seems to deter the blatantly obvious demonic nutjobs — the eavesdropping student told his parents, who told school administrators, who in turn called the cops. (Note “If you see something, say something” carries risks of its own – if you report the wrong person, you could end up smeared as a “hater.”)

“Cottrell said he made it very clear to the police that he was ‘not going to willingly give up my constitutional rights where there’s no justifiable cause, no warrants, no nothing,’” the report continued. Despite that, his home is now a “gun free zone” and that has been publicized by the media. He has, in fact, willingly ceded those rights, and by his own words in order to make authorities “happy.”

Before judging him for that, consider the environment that is New Jersey. Then consider the overwhelming force the state can bring to bear, and its predisposition to using it, especially if it’s to enforce citizen disarmament. It’s easy to anonymously declare “Molon Labe” on the internet. In meatspace, resistance is more effective when the aggressor doesn’t get to dictate the time and place, especially if that place is your home and you have family inside.

Appeasing gun-grabbers, generally couched as “compromise,” is impossible. It’s like throwing a scrap of flesh to a circling pack of jackals and expecting them to be sated and leave you alone — instead of sensing opportunity and fear, and moving in closer.
