{forbes.com} ~ Have you ever wondered why you can’t talk to your doctor by phone or by email? Or why a doctor can’t examine you in your own home using a phone app?... Or why specialists at our top hospitals aren’t using telemedicine for long-distance examinations of patients all over the country? Or why it’s so hard to combine ordinary health insurance with a concierge doctor? In each of these cases normal market processes have been suppressed by unwise government policies. And, that’s just the beginning. It turns out that the most serious problems in the health care marketplace are almost always the result of ill-conceived public policies. Yet this observation is very rarely made in health policy circles. For most of the past half century, health economics has been dominated by the idea that private sector medicine has numerous flaws – flaws that must be corrected by government. Fortunately, the conversation is about to change. The Trump administration has produced an astonishingly bold document: Reforming America’s Healthcare System Through Choice and Competition. This is the first time any administration has explicitly acknowledged that the most serious problems in health economics arise not because of market failure, but because of government failure. It is also the first time the federal government has committed to the idea of liberating the medical marketplace. {westernjournal.com} ~ Legislation House Democrats are trying to ram through Congress under the banner of election reform is nothing more than a liberal power grab... according to a coalition of America’s conservatives. “Conservatives are united in opposing H.R. 1, the attempt by House Democrats to fundamentally undermine the American electoral system,” reads the memo posted on the website of the Conservative Action Project. The League of Women Voters has supported the legislation saying that it would replace local registration systems with one federal one; put federal limits on how states can go about redistricting; restore the Voting Rights Act a court said no longer needed to be enforced; Be wary of misleading labels, warns the group of 150 conservatives who signed the petition, headlined by former Attorney General Edwin Meese. “While they cloak the bill in terms of “restoring democracy” and “preventing corruption,” the legislation has one goal: to protect incumbents, at the expense of the First Amendment, federalism, and individual voter integrity,” the petition said. “H.R. 1 would cause sweeping and irrevocable damage to the free speech, privacy, and integrity that are central components to free and fair elections in America. We oppose H.R. 1 in the strongest terms, and urge all conservatives to do likewise,” it said. Trump helped end the record-long partial government shutdown of 35 days by signing a short-term spending bill late last Friday. The spending bill keeps the government open for another three weeks, allowing both sides time to negotiate a deal on border security. The conference committee to negotiate a deal is planning to meet Wednesday for the first time. “Thankfully, hundreds of thousands of federal workers and contractors are back on the job,” scumbag-Schumer told reporters at a press conference. “It is a relief to them above all, but to all of America. These are working people, they work so hard — and to use them as hostages to get something that has nothing to do with them was so wrong and I’m glad President Trump backed off.”... scumbag-Schumer is a liar..

American Socialists Unite Behind Tyrant Maduroby Nate Jackson: Venezuela’s experiment with socialism has yielded predictable results, and the nation’s people are beginning to rise up against that tyranny. As our Thomas Gallatin noted last week, “On … the anniversary of the ousting of military dictator Marcos Perez Jimenez in 1958, the president of Venezuela’s National Assembly, Juan Guaido, took the presidential oath before a massive crowd filling the streets of Caracas.”
President Donald Trump immediately moved to support Guaido diplomatically and tighten the screws on dictator Nicolas Maduro economically. The administration announced new sanctions yesterday against Petroleos de Venezuela, the state-owned oil company, which could result in $11 billion in lost sales.
Perhaps these U.S. moves — and National Security Advisor John Bolton’s warning that even military action is “on the table” to stabilize the country — explain why Guaido is still alive and holding rallies in Caracas.
So what are the Democrat socialism deniers saying about Trump’s moves against their preferred form of government?
commie-Bernie Sanders is “feeling the Bern,” declaring, “The United States should support the rule of law, fair elections and self-determination for the Venezuelan people. We must condemn the use of violence against unarmed protesters and the suppression of dissent. However, we must learn the lessons of the past and not be in the business of regime change or supporting coups — as we have in Chile, Guatemala, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic. The United States has a long history of inappropriately intervening in Latin American countries; we must not go down that road again.”
That’s right. commie-Sanders is so worried about “regime change” that he’d rather support an anti-American murderous tyrant who stole the 2018 election.
And California Democrat Ro Khanna got a retweet of endorsement from commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for saying, “The U.S. should not anoint the leader of the opposition in Venezuela during an internal, polarized conflict.” Khanna might want to look up the word “anoint.” It was the elected Venezuelan National Assembly, not the Trump administration, that installed Guaido, and only after a protracted constitutional battle involving Maduro’s hand-picked Supreme Court dissolving the Assembly and reversing course only under international pressure.
Meanwhile, Demo Rep. Ilhan Omar decried “Trump’s efforts to install a far right opposition.” Wrong again — Guaido is actually center-left.
The history of Venezuelan socialism over the last few years is appalling. Is the Democrat position really that, no matter how bad an executive gets, “impeachment” is off the table? Keep that in mind as they #Resist the duly elected president of our own nation. A president, by the way, who’s leading a resurgence in economic freedom that stands in stark contrast to the Democrat/Maduro model. ~The Patriot Post
