"Stand Down" Where Have We Heard That Before?

"Despite a firm denial by Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, a senior law enforcement source charges that she gave an order for police to stand down as riots broke out Monday night, raising more questions about whether some of the violence and looting could have been prevented." http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/04/29/source-baltimore-mayor-o...
Once again chaos, denials and burnt building ensue after a 'Stand Down' order was given. Or not given. Once again we have reports on the ground differing from our leader's statements.
The U.S. House Intelligence Committee’s report on the Benghazi attacks in November stating on Page 20, Paragraph 2: "Although some security officers voiced a greater urgency to depart for the TMF, no officer at the CIA was ever told to stand down. The evidence from eyewitness testimony, ISR video footage, closed-circuit television recordings and other sources provides no support for the allegation that there was any stand-down order. " http://intelligence.house.gov/investigative-report-terrorist-attack...
However, Deja vu, According to the contractors on the ground: This statement is grossly incorrect. Kris Paronto, CIA security contractor, stated to the committee, looking Rep. Rogers directly in the eye, that he was delayed and was told to wait twice. Paronto also stated that the “27” minute delay and his team waiting was a severe military tactical mistake. The exact words “STAND DOWN” were used by the Chief of Base “Bob” to CIA security contractor, John Tiegen approximately 15 minutes after the initial “help” call from the DS agents on the radio at the facility under attack. http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2014/12/02/cia-benghazi-...
Our leaders were not held accountable during the Benghazi debacle, and it is highly doubtful that the Mayor of Baltimore will be held accountable during the Baltimore debacle.
One of our founders warned us against apathy when holding our leaders accountable.
"A body of men, holding themselves accountable to nobody, ought not to be trusted by anybody." Thomas Paine
And as a great America Icon said, "When you allow unlawful acts to go unpunished, you're moving toward a gov of men rather than a gov of law"- John Wayne.

Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy: ‘The Real Second Amendment Isn’t Absolute

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) tweeted Saturday there is a “real” Second Amendment and an “imaginary” one and he believes the real one is “not absolute.”

Murphy, “I support the real 2nd Amendment, not the imaginary 2nd Amendment. And the real 2nd Amendment isn’t absolute.”

The statement was a precursor to his call for banning “assault rifles” in the wake of the Santa Fe High School shooting, even though “assault rifles” were not used in the attack.

Murphy said the “real 2nd Amendment…allows Congress to wake up to reality and ban these assault rifles that are designed for one purpose only – to kill as many people as fast as possible.”

Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) said the Santa Fe High School attackers used a .38 revolver and a shotgun to carry out his heinous acts. Therefore, a ban on “assault rifles” would have done nothing to prevent the attack from occurring or the tragic loss of life from taking place.

It should be noted that Saturday was not the first time Sen. Murphy called the essence of the Second Amendment into question. On August 6, 2013, Breitbart News reported that Murphy told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow that “The Second Amendment is not an absolute right, not a God-given right. It has always had conditions upon it like the First Amendment has.”

Murphy did not grapple with the words, “Shall not be infringed.”
