Disarming the people is a sure way that leads to oppression of the people. Look to Cuba, the government took away their guns, then their property and finally businesses. The island was turned from a prosperous island to a third world country by its leaders. Noah Webster urged the ratification of the Constitution, "Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe." George Mason stated in his Virginia delegates regarding the colonies' recent experience with Britain, in which the Monarch's goal had been "to disarm the people; that [that] . . . was the best and most effectual way to enslave them." A widely reprinted article by Tench Coxe, an ally and correspondent of James Madison, described the Second Amendment's overriding goal as a check upon the national government's standing army: As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people duly before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the next article in their right to keep and bear their private arms.

Thank you for your post. The entire goal of the government is to restrict guns to that only of the government. This allows the government to control the people. The purpose of the 2nd amendment was to allow Americans to take up arms against a government that has become tyrannical, Governments are inherently evil. Governments are made of people and not all people are good.
The second amendment it is none negotiable, the ones that want to sale the ban on sale and guns restrictions have only one purpose to control the people. Gun control will increase crimes, many countries that passed guns control experienced more crimes to the point that they has to increase their police force.
