Fairy Tales About Guns
Earlier this year, the National Rifle Association illustrated how different some stories can be if a victim has a gun. Using Grimm's Fairy Tales to make the point, author Amelia Hamilton retold stories like Little Red Riding Hood (Has a Gun) and Hansel and Gretel (Have Guns) to show not only that we don't have to be defenseless victims, but sometimes "happily ever after" takes some securing.
Naturally, however, leftists had a conniption. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, which should really be named Campaign to Take Away Your Guns, responded with a fairy tale of their own featuring Alice in Wonderland ... shooting herself in the face. "Over one-third of all American households have a gun," a narrator says just as Alice pulls the trigger of a gun she's discovered. "Ask your neighbor: Is there a gun where they play? Asking saves kids."
In so far as this reminds all gun owners that safety is paramount, or that all parents of any stripe should cover the subject with their kids, this is all fine and good. But the vast majority of gun owners are safety conscious, despite what the Brady Campaign implies. For example, an experiment in February revealed that kids whose parents own guns do know what to do with them — don't touch them and tell an adult — while kids in gun-free households didn't fare so well. Of course, the Brady ad specifically aims to rebut the NRA, but had "Alice" been through the NRA's Eddie Eagle Gun Safe Program, she would have known what to do when she found a gun.
As for Hamilton, she responded via Twitter, "Me: what if fairy tale characters were safe? Brady campaign: what if they shot themselves in the face?" That's par for the course when it comes to the scaremongering Left. -The Patriot Post

USAF Senior MSGT Ejected for Reference to 'God'
There has been yet another recent example of Barack nObama's top-down effort to eradicate any reference to faith by military personnel. MSGT Chuck Roberson invited retired Senior MSGT Oscar Rodriguez Jr. to conduct a traditional flag retirement as part of Roberson's own retirement ceremony. But when Rodriguez arrived at Travis Air Force Base for his friend's small retirement gathering of family and friends, he was met by security personnel. Those personnel had been ordered by the base commander to warn Rodriguez that he had to stick to a script that did not reference "God."
Rodriguez didn't make the rank of Senior MSGT because he was a pushover. He stood for his part in the ceremony — in civilian clothing we note — and began his flag recitation, ignoring the warning. He was immediately seized by security personnel (as seen in this video), and forcibly removed from the ceremony — to the alarm of the guests gathered there to honor MSGT Roberson.
According to Lt. Col. Robert Couse-Baker at Travis AFB, the Air Force "respects and defends the right to free speech and religious expression." But Couse-Baker added, "Rodriguez ignored numerous requests to respect the Air Force prescribed ceremony and unfortunately was forcibly removed. We will continue to investigate the situation fully." Fact is, Rodriguez was removed for exercising his First Amendment rights at a voluntary retirement ceremony. He is now a civilian, and his remarks were delivered in that capacity.
The USAF has modified regulation AFI 34-1201 to ensure there will be no reference to faith in the flag-folding portion of a retirement ceremony. The blame for ejecting the Senior MSGT doesn't rest with the security personnel who were ordered to remove him, but with their commander in chief, whose personal creed has been shaped by hatred. Despite nObama's best efforts, the majority of personnel in our military service branches are people of faith, much to the chagrin of the Left's atheist agitators.
In response to his removal, Rodriguez told a military watchdog group, "This speech means so much to so many, and I hope you help in letting all the nation listen to its words. It may not be for everybody, this I understand, but every time I say these words I think about those that touched the hand of God, the sacrifices of so many and to keep the dreams of all Americans alive so they can find their happiness." Task Force Report Puts Chicago Cops in the Crosshairs
The task force Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel assembled
in response to the Laquan McDonald video released its findings Wednesday — surprise! — accusing the Chicago Police Department of racist policing policies. After crunching CPD data, the task force wrote it "gives validity to the widely held belief the police have no regard for the sanctity of life when it comes to people of color." In the 404 CPD officer-involved shootings from 2008 to 2015, the report found 74% of the incidents involved a black suspect. Maybe that's because blacks disproportionately commit violent crimes, including attacking police.
This report is both informed by and will only exacerbate the race-bait rhetoric about cops perpetuated by Emanuel's old boss, Barack nObama. The Left will use this report to pile more regulations on law enforcement, handcuffing them from keeping the peace. Granted, police are not immune from the need to reform. While police officers in the Windy City stopped and searched black and Hispanic drivers in 2013 four times as often as white drivers, police were two times as likely to discover contraband on white motorists. But this report will only make things worse in Chicago. Ever since the McDonald video was released, Chicago police have been reluctant to engage in proactive policing and arrests have dropped. As a result, the homicide rate in the city spiked, with the city on track to exceed 500 homicides by year-end. It fits the Left's agenda to say the Chicago PD is engaging in some kind of protest in response to the criticism by the mayor's office, but this isn't entirely the case. Instead, according to FiveThirtyEight, police officers who have to fill out more paperwork thanks to Emanuel's "reforms" have less time to investigate crime. That said, cops no doubt think twice before stepping into an incident that might end up on YouTube. Welcome to "The Ferguson Effect," where policing decreases over fears that criticism will ruin the officer's career, or worse, that an officer will be killed for the "crime" of being white. Root had graduated from college just hours before the fatal accident... Mejia was arrested and appeared before a judge, where he was identified as an illegal alien. The Immigration and Custom Enforcement agency (ICE) admits that the Douglas County Police Department asked them numerous times about placing a detainer keeping him in jail on Mejia, who had skipped a court hearing another time on charges of drunk driving and had a warrant for his arrest. But ICE rejected the requests. As in all such cases, immigration authorities had the option of having Mejia held because of his illegal status but chose not to because they believed he “did not meet Immigration and Custom Enforcement’s (ICE) enforcement priorities” as laid out by the nObama administration. So, instead, Mejia agreed to a court mandated twice-a-day appointment to submit to a breathalyzer test and was released on his own recognizance. It’s hard to take nObama seriously after watching him jet to Cuba in March and pose before a mural—dedicated to militant Marxist Che Guevara—and do “The Wave” at a baseball game with current Cuban dictator Raúl Castro.
While our President partied with a despot on a Caribbean island, ISIS terrorists blew up Brussels. Good thing Attorney General Loretta Lynch was holding down the fort back home in America. After all, post-San Bernardino, she did a stellar job of bringing ISIS to justice by promising to “prosecute” anyone she felt was using “anti-Muslim rhetoric.”
Isn’t it interesting that the “next generation” our president encourages to embrace political relativism has been hurt the most by political relativism?
Nearly 13 percent of Millennials are unemployed. Others scrape by with odd “gigs” from apps like Uber and TaskRabbit, and by racking up debt. In 2015, the middle class fell out of the majority, meaning that when Millennials do find employment they struggle to earn over $42,000 annually. Which is why young people say they are delaying home ownership and childbirth. The average American woman is 26 years old before she becomes a mother, a new high.
Pew Research reports that more young women are living with their parents today than in 1940—when my grandmother was 20 years old and even most women thought their “place” was in the home.
Redistributive policies are directly to blame for a trend I call “the new shacking up.” Seven years after nObama’s so-called recovery—roughly 1 in 3 Millennials is unable to live independently—grudgingly “shacking up” with relatives or roommates well into their early thirties.
Where do nObama’s loyalties lie? Why is he telling Millennials to “pick and choose” from capitalism, socialism and communism—as if doing so were as inconsequential as picking between roses, sunflowers and carnations at a farmer’s market?

“The fact that you were arrested shouldn’t keep you from getting a job and it shouldn’t keep you from renting a home,” U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Julian Castro said a few days after nObama essentially declared communism equal to a free market system.
In other words, nObama’s HUD told landlords to stop discriminating—against crime.
HUD further specified that if you’re a criminal, you “ought to have” a “second chance at life,” and “criminal history-based restrictions on access to housing” are likely to be racially discriminatory against “African-Americans and Hispanics”—and “likely to lack a legally sufficient justification landlords could be sued for turning away tenants with a criminal past.”
HUD’s new policy is inherently racially discriminatory. It is evenhanded to proffer justice to criminals—by denying them the privileges of law-abiding citizens. It is discriminatory to presume that African-Americans and Hispanics are more predisposed to corruption than Asians, Arabs, whites and American Indians.
nObama himself is biracial. Given that each successive generation of Americans is growing more blended, why does he persist in pretending that we live in a black vs. white world? Why not draw us together, and encourage us to be self-sufficient entrepreneurs as 70 percent of Millennials say they aspire?

Shelter—a roof over your head when you sleep at night and a place to safely stow your belongings during the day—is essential to life. A free and moral society is one that rewards an industrious and upright man or woman by respecting their independent ownership or stewardship (rental) of a personal shelter (home or an apartment). Furthermore, a free society punishes criminals by removing their right to dwell independently.
HUD’s new guidelines are a great example of the damage done to law-abiding Americans, especially Millennials who lack a nest egg, by a president who arbitrarily “chooses” to put communism and socialism on par with the free market.
A young woman who can’t afford to buy a home—but can rent a small apartment—could now be compelled to live in a complex where her next-door neighbor is her future burglar, murderer, or rapist. Because bad people deserve subsidized second chances.
This sort of preferential treatment for thugs is jaw-droppingly unprecedented. It’s also immoral.
Hill No, Hilly Won’t Go To Prison
Hilly Clinton could be convicted of obstructing justice or violating federal law due to sending what are now classified as top state secrets via a personal email address and storing these confidences on a personal server in an obscure Colorado lavatory.
If indicted, Clinton could lose the right to live independently in her $1.7 million Chappaqua, NY mansion or $2.85 Washington, D.C. Embassy Row mansion.
Her new home could be a locked commune full of women wearing the same orange jumpsuit; eating off the same menu; and sleeping on the same cot. For the first time in her life—she could genuinely say she was “dead broke.”
But that won’t happen to her under nObama’s new HUD rules. Because criminals—including white ones—can’t be discriminated against.
Preferential treatment for thugs isn’t right. This fall, we can’t afford to elect nObama 2.0—Clinton. We also can’t risk electing a repeat Clinton donor. We must elect a man committed to sweeping the cobwebs from Washington.
