Fight John Roberts Didn't Want to Pick

{insider.foxnews.com} ~ Bill Bennett appeared on "Fox & Friends" Friday to weigh in on President Trump's war of words  with Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts... saying this is a fight Roberts should not have picked. It started last week when Roberts offered a rebuke to Trump's description of a judge who ruled against Trump's new migrant asylum policy as an "scumbag/liar-nObama judge." “We do not have scumbag/liar-nObama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or scumbag/liar-Clinton judges,” Roberts said in a statement provided to Fox News. “What we have is an extraordinary group of dedicated judges doing their level best to do equal right to those appearing before them." Roberts added: “That independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for.” Trump fired back in a series of tweets, continuing his criticism of "scumbag/liar-nObama judges," and calling the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals a “total disaster” with a “horrible reputation.”...

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ Rep. scumbag-Adam Schiff, D-Calif., has some big plans next year when he takes the chairmanship of the House Intelligence Committee from Rep. Devin Nunes... When Democrats take control of the House in January, scumbag-Schiff will be able to do more than simply vent his frustration with the investigatory ventures prioritized by the outgoing GOP majority, as he'll have the privilege to set the committee agenda and the power of subpoena. Through a series of declarations and reports about an effort to gear up for brand new inquiries, one thing is clear about scumbag-Schiff's plans: He's got his sights set on President Trump. Among the projects to which scumbag-Schiff is ready to commit are: scumbag-Schiff told the Washington Post that he plans to investigate the murder of Saudi dissident Jamal Khashoggi, and furthermore, Trump's dismissal of the CIA's high-confidence conclusion that Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was behind the plot. “We’ll look at what the intelligence community assessments are at any given time,” scumbag-Schiff told the Post's liberal columnist Greg Sargent. “Then it will be quite clear whether the president is relying on the intelligence community and our best source of information or whether the president is representing something very different.” He further stated Trump's financial ties to Saudi Arabia would be of top interest. "There are a whole set of potential financial conflicts of interest and emoluments problems that Congress will need to get to the bottom of," scumbag-Schiff added. Even before the 2018 midterm elections, scumbag-Schiff was pledging to rekindle the intelligence panel's Russia investigation, which wrapped up earlier this year, finding no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Speaking with the Los Angeles Times, scumbag-Schiff signaled that he and his Democratic allies would revive the probe, which they have long argued ended prematurely, and signaled that he aims to discover if Russia has any financial leverage over Trump. “The president has sought to keep that off-limits, but if that’s the leverage Russians pose, that’s a real threat to our country,” he said... scumbag-Schiff will lose this investigation.  https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/adam-schiffs-multifaceted-plan-to-corner-trump-on-the-money-trail?utm_source=WEX_News%20Brief_11/23/2018&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=WEX_News%20Brief

Sarsour Alternately Apologetic and Defiant
About Women’s March Links to Farrakhan

{freebeacon.com} ~ Left-wing activist Linda Sarsour has been alternately apologetic and defiant this week about the Women's March and its previous refusal to disavow radical Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan... After saying Sunday in an open letter that Farrakhan has "said hateful and hurtful things and … he does not align with our Unity Principles," Sarsour went on to issue an apology in a statement on Tuesday for the organization's shortcomings. Sarsour, a Palestinian-American and fierce critic of Israel, also said she wanted to foster deeper relationships in the Jewish community. "We should have been faster and clearer in helping people understand our values and our commitment to fighting anti-Semitism," she wrote. "We regret that. Every member of our movement matters to us — including our incredible Jewish and LGBTQ members. We are deeply sorry for the harm we have caused, but we see you, we love you, and we are fighting with you."... We'll see if those words are true in the future.

{freebeacon.com} ~ An elderly tech inventor is accusing the federal government of personally targeting him to block him from patenting his life's work... Anyone who uses a computer or television has enjoyed the fruits of Gil Hyatt's labor. He has pioneered technology and computer programming used by Panasonic, Sony, Philips, and Toshiba. He poured the licensing fees back into the lab where he has continued his research for decades. But beginning in the mid-1990's, Hyatt said the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) began enforcing a blockade against his patent applications. The agency, his suit claims, went so far as to create a dedicated group of regulators committed to delaying numerous applications until the 80-year-old inventor expires. "The PTO founded what the agency calls the ‘Hyatt Unit' in 2012 for the purpose of miring all of Mr. Hyatt's applications in administrative purgatory until Mr. Hyatt gives up or dies," the suit says. Hyatt's suit mentions the monetary toll the PTO's actions have had on his life. He has invested thousands of dollars into complying with the agency's paperwork requests and eventually litigation to get them the up-or-down judgment regulators refuse to grant. The delays have no doubt cost him potential earnings, denied licensing and partnerships with companies interested in his inventions—earnings that might have netted him millions, but some of the research has been rendered obsolete as the agency sat on his applications. The money, however, is not his greatest concern. An inventor lives and dies by his reputation...  https://freebeacon.com/issues/patently-offensive/?utm_source=Freedom+Mail&utm_campaign=310de4fbe1-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_11_21_04_18_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b5e6e0e9ea-310de4fbe1-45611665

 Massachusetts Companies Seek
to Influence Immigration Laws

{immigrationreform.com} ~ Big business and special interests are combining forces in Massachusetts to promote open borders and mass immigration... And the consortium could potentially stymie President Trump’s efforts to enact tougher immigration laws and put American workers first. Executives from some of Massachusetts’ top business sectors came together on October 1st to launch the Massachusetts Business Coalition on Immigration (MBCI), a seemingly pro-business group which actually aims to supplant American workers with immigrants. The group was created by an even more insidious organization that advocates for blanket amnesty and porous borders, the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA). The MBCI doesn’t shy away from its true motives, which are  to secure in perpetuity a reliable supply of cheap foreign labor and to shield it from deportation. Specifically, the MBCI is seeking to bolster Massachusetts’ “immigrant workforce – including DACA recipients, Temporary Protected Status holders, refugees, asylees, and H-1B aliens – through the state and federal legislative process” and grant them more legal protections. Similar business coalitions are active in Illinois, Florida, Texas, and Colorado. In a press statement, the MBCI announced that the group hopes to counter what it calls President Trump’s “xenophobic agenda” against immigrants, and to partner with Congress and the state legislature to develop policies that strengthen the “incoming pipeline of alien workers” underpinning the Massachusetts economy...

by Thomas Gallatin:  On Thursday, the American public learned of yet another failure by government officials related to the Parkland, Florida, school atrocity. Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said that the armed school resource deputy assigned to work security at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School failed to enter the building and engage the attacker. Based on video footage from the school’s security cameras, Israel stated, “What I saw was a deputy arrive at the west side of Building 12, take up a position and never went in.” When asked what the deputy should have done, Israel responded, “Went in and addressed the killer. Killed the killer.”

This latest revelation only adds to the growing list of failures by school administrators, federal and state government officials and law enforcement. Not only was the killer a known problem to local law enforcement, but the sheriff admitted his agency had received no less than 23 calls on him since 2008, and the FBI had been warned twice about this teenager and his talk of wanting to be a school shooter. Now we’ve learned that a law enforcement officer already on the scene failed to aggressively respond to the attack. The gross incompetence displayed by public officials is staggering.
Nothing is worse than the loss of life permitted to happen by this inaction. But his failure will also be exploited by anti-Second Amendment activists, who will now claim that having armed security at schools still fails to stop the attacks. Indeed, in its reporting on the story, The Washington Post made that very point:
Israel’s description of [School Resource Deputy Scot] Peterson as an armed, trained officer who was present for a mass killing but did not confront the shooter also comes as President Trump, in response to the Parkland massacre, has suggested arming teachers as a way to deter possible threats, while the National Rifle Association has also pushed for more armed guards in schools.
Trump has frequently suggested in response to mass shootings that more law-abiding people with firearms could help stop a shooter and the head of the NRA has repeatedly suggested the same. However, Israel’s announcement Thursday suggested that even if a person is armed, trained and available to help, that may not stop a mass killing that unfolds in a matter of minutes.
Meanwhile, the Leftmedia and the gun control crowd (but we repeat ourselves) continue banging the drums in calling for more limits on Americans’ Second Amendment rights in the name of protecting children. The irony here is that the Left is calling for more power and trust to be given to those very government leaders who so abysmally failed in their duties. This is a classic example of the leftist mindset, which always entrusts the government with power over and against the rights of the individual. Regardless, the fact of the matter is that limiting law-abiding citizens’ access to firearms will do nothing to stop criminal behavior, especially when those entrusted to enforce the laws and protect citizens fail so abysmally.  ~The Patriot Post
