Tester Takes a Torpedo Below the Water Line

{spectator.org} ~ Ever wonder how Senator Jon Tester, a Beltway swamp creature who voted against the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh and famously stays in lockstep... with his fellow dummycrats-Democrats on immigration and gun control, keeps getting elected in a state like Montana? The answer is simple: the Libertarian Party usually nominates a spoiler who siphons enough votes from Tester’s GOP challengers that he wins by the skin of his teeth. In 2012, for example, Libertarian Dan Cox garnered enough of the vote to allow Tester to eke out a 4 percent win. This year was no different — until yesterday — when Libertarian Rick Breckenridge decided to endorse Republican Matt Rosendale. The Libertarian has been pulling enough support in the polls to enable Tester to slither back to the swamp again. Why did Breckenridge throw his support to Rosendale? AP reports: The Libertarian candidate in Montana’s U.S. Senate race threw his support behind his Republican opponent Wednesday in a surprise move that came in response to an election mailer from an unknown group that appeared aimed at undermining Rosendale’s support among conservatives. A similar tactic was used in Tester’s last reelection bid, according to the AP story, and this kind of outside interference in Montana’s election process appears to have been just as offensive to the Libertarian candidate as it was to Rosendale himself: Breckenridge said in an interview that he doesn’t know the source of the mailer, which promoted him as a “true conservative” and claimed that Rosendale supports using drones to spy on private citizens.… He said it appeared to be an attempt by so-called dark money groups to influence Montana’s election. This is not Tester’s only PR problem. Having sent out mailers to voters suggesting that he was an avid hunter, it was recently  discovered that he hasn’t had a hunting license in years. This damaged Tester’s credibility and made him the butt of more than one joke. {theconservativetreehouse.com} ~ Today Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley refers another fraudulent accuser of Justice Brett Kavanaugh for investigation and prosecution...  Accuser Ms. Judy Munro-Leighton was brought forth by Senator lowlife-Kamala Harris, and now she admits it was entirely made up.  The accuser never even met Kavanaugh. In his letter to the FBI and DOJ the chairman notes: “I am writing to refer Ms. Judy Munro-Leighton for investigation of potential violations of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1001 materially false statements and 1505 obstruction, for materially false statements she made to the Committee during the course of the Committee’s investigation.”

Immigrants Will Not Fund Our Retirement

This argument is a sham... The data are conclusive: immigration will not save America's welfare system. It will bleed it dry. John Cassidy sums up the sham argument in his piece for the New Yorker: Demographers and economists have been warning that the aging baby-boomer population presents a serious challenge to the nation's finances, as the ratio of seniors to working-age adults – the age-dependency ratio – rises. The reason is straightforward: Social Security and Medicare are largely financed on a pay-as-you-go basis, which means that some of the taxes paid by current workers are transferred to current retirees. If the dependency ratio rises, the financial burden on the working-age population also increases. Cassidy's diagnosis of the problem is correct. America's population is aging, and this is a problem because America's welfare state is structured like a giant Ponzi scheme. Although taxpayers contribute to the system throughout their lives, they never see this money. Instead, they pay for the previous generation's retirement with assurances that the next generation will pay for theirs. Welfare is a vampire that requires fresh blood to survive. This is the root of Cassidy's error.  Cassidy proposes three possible solutions.  First, America could "reduce the level of retirement benefits significantly – but that would be very unpopular and difficult to achieve politically."...

Alec Baldwin arrested after allegedly punching 

someone during parking spot argument

{foxnews.com} ~ Hot-headed actor Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday afternoon after allegedly punching a man in New York City's West Village neighborhood... Fox News has confirmed. Police sources say the frequent "Saturday Night Live" host was in custody after getting into an argument over a parking spot. Law enforcement  responded to a 911 call for an alleged assault around 1:30 pm EST, sources told Fox News, where a 49-year-old male was treated for an injury to his left jaw. The individual was conscious and alert and transported to Lenox Hospital. Charges against the actor are pending, but law enforcement sources said it was likely Baldwin would be charged with misdemeanor assault. by National Security Desk:  The five Gitmo detainees traded by Barack scumbag/liar-nObama in exchange for deserter Bowe Bergdahl have become members of the Taliban’s political office in Qatar, a spokesman for the terrorist group recently announced. Moreover, the Associated Press reports, “They will now be among Taliban representatives negotiating for peace in Afghanistan, a sign some negotiators in Kabul say indicates the Taliban’s desire for a peace pact.”

             That’s right, those very same Gitmo terrorists are now part of the Taliban’s “peace” negation team. So after 17 years of fighting a seemingly never-ending war, the U.S. is left negotiating a “peace” deal with the very terrorists scumbag/liar-nObama released. And why are we negotiating “peace” with the Taliban — the terrorist overlords we went to Afghanistan to destroy? Because scumbag/liar-nObama was content to let the U.S. military languish there in a holding pattern rather than giving American Patriots in uniform the necessary means to win. The net effect is the same as his disastrous withdrawal from Iraq, which brought about the rise of the Islamic State. That’s right, the Taliban now controls nearly half of Afghanistan and thus has the necessary leverage for negotiations.
               scumbag/liar-nObama started out his term apologizing for American exceptionalism, he allowed for the growth of ISIS, which almost reversed all gains made in Iraq, and he went out appeasing one of America’s biggest enemies with his terrible Iran nuclear deal. These Afghanistan “peace” talks are a tragic bookend to the absolute futility of scumbag/liar-nObama’s foreign policy.
