{ theconservativetreehouse.com } ~ I’m skipping any further discussion of Pam Bondi because, quite frankly, while she may be considered a member of President Trump’s team, if we are honest about her background... particularly in the Zimmerman case fraud– there’s nothing good to say. Bondi was the Florida AG and convinced Gov. Scott to appoint a special prosecutor. Bondi picked her campaign manager, Jacksonville state attorney, Angela Corey; who constructed a fraudulent witness against the accused. AG Pam Bondi specifically knew Witness #8 was manufactured. In ’12/’13 Pam Bondi attempted to frame a transparently innocent man. Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz appears on Fox News for a discussion of his role in the upcoming senate impeachment trial of President Trump. Mr. Dershowitz states he will be presenting the constitutional argument against the entire premise for the insufferable impeachment.

{ theconservativetreehouse.com } ~ Senator Ted Cruz appears for a discussion on the Senate impeachment trial. Cruz walks through the most likely scenario of 24 hours prosecution case two or three days, then 24 hours of defense case two or three days... then the individual Senators submitting questions to the Chief Justice, John Roberts, to ask both sides. This phase of the process should take two to three weeks total. Then the issue of “witnesses” will be debated. While the first week is unfolding in the Senate, President Trump will be attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and negotiating more economic benefits for the U.S.

Why Laws Against Hate Speech Are Dangerous

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ In November 2019, Germans celebrated the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany 30 years earlier... That same month, Chancellor Angela Merkel, in a speech to the German federal parliament (Bundestag), advocated more restrictions on free speech for all Germans. She warned that free speech has limits: "Those limits begin where hatred is spread. They begin where the dignity of other people is violated. This house will and must oppose extreme speech. Otherwise, our society will no longer be the free society that it was." Merkel received great applause. Critics, however, would claim that curtailing freedom in order to protect freedom sounds a bit Orwellian. One of the first acts of any tyrant or repressive regime is usually to abolish freedom of speech. Merkel should know this: she lived under a repressive regime -- in the communist dictatorship of East Germany, where she studied at Karl Marx University. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution protects freedom of speech, specifically speech critical of the government, and prohibits the state from limiting free speech. The First Amendment was placed first in the Bill of Rights because the American Founding Fathers realized that freedom of speech is fundamental to a free society. US President George Washington said: "For if Men are to be precluded from offering their Sentiments on a matter, which may involve the most serious and alarming consequences... reason is of no use to us; the freedom of Speech may be taken away, and, dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep, to the Slaughter." Without freedom of speech, you cannot truly be free. Freedom of speech exists precisely to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. What exactly is "hate speech," and who gets to define it? Those who love justice usually also hate injustice. But what is justice? Social justice? Economic justice? Ecological justice? Religious fundamentalist justice? Climate justice?...   https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/15256/hate-speech-laws

{ jihadwatch.org } ~ By now it should be clear: the killing of Qassem Soleimani, at the time of his death the world’s greatest terrorist, has made the world a safer place... In his 25 years of violent activity, Soleimani had shown himself to be a more dangerous terrorist than either Osama bin Laden or Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. He extended the tentacles of Iran’s malign influence throughout the Middle East, into Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen. He gave both military and financial aid to Hezbollah, including 140,000 missiles with which to threaten Israel. In Lebanon, Soleimani helped build up Hezbollah to became a state-within-a-state, always threatening to drag that country into a war with Israel that no one else in Lebanon wanted. Most recently, Hezbollah has supported the government in Beirut against popular protests, because it has consistently done Hezbollah’s bidding. The terror group has helped to violently suppress the protesters, including many Shi’a, against that same government. For Soleimani, Hezbollah was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Iran. Behind the official head of Hezbollah, the Lebanese Hassan Nasrallah, it was Qassem Soleimani who called the shots. In Yemen, Soleimani delivered weapons and money to the Shi’a Houthi, who have been fighting against the Sunni-dominated government. Soleimani’s goal was the conquest of Yemen by the Houthis, which would then become Tehran’s puppet state, right on the southern border of Saudi Arabia, with Iranian bases inside Yemen able to threaten the KSA. In Iraq, Soleimani had helped create, fund, and supply with weapons several Shi’a militias that dutifully promoted Iranian interests. According to the Iraqi statesman Mithal al-Alusi, Soleimani also bribed Iraqi parliamentarians to vote as Tehran demanded. Everywhere he turned, Soleimani was a force promoting corruption, mayhem, and terrorism in the service of Iran’s interests. When Soleimani was killed, there were many in the Sunni Arab world who rejoiced. The official press of Saudi Arabia celebrated his killing. Other countries – the UAE, Egypt, Bahrain – made clear their own satisfaction, though not quite to the degree expressed in Riyadh. In Iraq, the response was divided, but even some Shi’a were gladdened by the news. Of 22 Arab states, only four – Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Qatar — expressed their condolences on Soleimani’s death. In America many, though not all, Democrats criticized the killing which, some claimed to fear, might well lead to an “escalation” and war. But the Iranian response was noticeably mild. The Iranians lobbed fewer than twenty missiles toward two American bases in Iraq, taking care to warn the Iraqi government several hours before the attack was launched, thereby giving the Iraqis time to inform the Americans, and for U.S. soldiers to seek shelter in bunkers; as a consequence, no Americans were killed or wounded. “We did not intend to kill,” said Brig. Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the head of the Revolutionary Guard’s Aerospace Force, according to Iranian state media. “We intended to hit the enemy’s military machinery.” That was the truth. The lie, which Iran’s government hoped its own people would believe, was their initial statement that 80 Americans had been killed and 200 wounded in the attack, a figure that was later decreased to “tens of people were killed or wounded.” And then, having engaged in that attack that was intended not to kill or wound Americans, Iran announced that it considered the matter closed. No “war” resulted from “warmonger” Trump’s order to kill Soleimani. The Iranian rulers are now clearly terrified of what Trump might do in the future; American deterrence has been restored; relative calm now prevails; Soleimani’s killing has removed one of the chief sources of conflict in the Middle East. One might have thought the Europeans would have been at least as enthusiastic as the Sunni Arabs over the death of Soleimani. But they were diffident – even muted – in their praise for the killing...   https://www.jihadwatch.org/2020/01/on-iran-its-time-for-europe-to-step-up?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=the_2020_01_18_jihad_watch_daily_digest&utm_term=2020-01-18

{ gellerreport.com } ~ This is, in fact, the terrible goal of Islam. The Islamic empire that dominates/rules the world. Erdoğan dreams of the Ottoman caliphate... Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s chief advisor, retired Turkish general Adnan Tanrıverdi, has been articulating a vision of a unified Islamic superpower through conferences and documents published by his organizations. This vision is reflected in President Erdoğan’s foreign policy. The Justice Defenders Strategic Studies Center (ASSAM), of which Tanrıverdi is chairman of the board, has scheduled seven annual “congresses,” of which three have taken place, to work through the technical problems in the formation and governance of an “Islamic union.” At a recent ASSAM Congress, Tanrıverdi called for the coordination of the joint manufacturing of weapons and military equipment among Islamic countries, saying: “States cannot stand tall against the countries whose weapons they use.” ASSAM has also published a 69-page draft of a constituion for a planned shari’a-based confederation of 61 Islamic countries. This constituion declares that “sovereignty belongs to shariah,” that Istanbul is to be the capital of the confederation, that the Arabic language would be taught in all of its schools, and that its name will be “Asrica,” which is formed from a combination of Asia and Africa.Tanrıverdi is also chairman of the board of Turkish defense contracting firm SADAT Inc., on whose website Tanrıverdi has posted statements. One recent statement reads: “The welfare of Turkish and Muslim nations and the establishment of peace and justice in the world hinges upon appearance of the Islamic countries as a superpower on the global political scene.” He has also said that “the Islamic world should prepare an army for Palestine from outside Palestine” while SADAT Inc. has published material outlining the logistics of a hypothetical joint attack on Israel by 57 Islamic countries. A page on SADAT Inc.’s website states that “SADAT A.S. was in Libya to determine the needs of New Libyan Armed Forces and search for possibilities for Consultancy, Training, Ordnance service delivery for Libya” and shows a photo of Tanrıverdi shaking hands with a Libyan military officer as the two hold a plaque of the Ottoman Coat of Arms...

Trump Signs China Trade Deal, liar-Pelosi Signs Impeachment Articles
ZdpUJ5LRqdqva_KGPF4jPyAmesVq24HK92J1AYF17_4HxLDhnREF7izF-Ivd7aj4wM3I_YqXGn2tSYKSAm_SoltEVm-DWIohLaTe4CRykFJRS_G5kZO4QBZJvDCVaBnysQ4TPZKJho8wfibe2Ns4rpFpMLc45jT94PGAe0w=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?profile=RESIZE_710x
Thomas Gallatin:  On the same day that House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi sat gleefully signing, with multiple pens, the Democrats’ articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, the president sat down in the White House to sign Phase One of his new trade deal with China. The juxtaposition of the two signing events perfectly captured the stark divergent political objectives between the two.

By almost all measures, Trump has had a great start to 2020. He strongly faced down Iran’s provocative behavior, hitting the mullahs right where it hurt by taking out their top terrorist Gen. Qasem Soleimani following their orchestrated attack on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. His decisive action sent a clear message to Iran and the world: Don’t to mess with the U.S.

On the illegal-immigration front, Trump has clearly made significant headway with the recent announcement of 100 new miles of a border wall, as well as a 70% decline in the number of individuals attempting to illegally cross the U.S. southern border. There is still much work to be done, but things are clearly going in the right direction.

The economy continues to hum along nicely, and there’s no sign of recession anywhere in sight, dashing one of the Democrats’ best hopes.

And now regarding the trade war with China, Trump’s aggressive efforts via raising tariffs appears to be paying off. While yesterday’s signing of Phase One is only an incremental step, it is still a significant step forward in Trump’s efforts to force China into ending its unfair trade practices. Here are a few of the reforms included in the deal as listed by the White House:

  • Importantly, the reforms included in the agreement are fully enforceable and include a strong dispute resolution system to ensure effective implementation and enforcement.

  • For the first time in any trade agreement, China agreed to end its practice of forcing companies to transfer their technology to Chinese companies in order to gain market access.

  • China will address numerous longstanding intellectual property concerns in the areas of trade secrets, trademarks, enforcement against pirated and counterfeit goods, and more.

  • The agreement includes significant commitments by China on accepting United States agricultural biotechnology products.

On top of this trade win, the Senate is poised to pass Trump’s reworked and updated NAFTA trade deal, now called USMCA. This would be Trump’s biggest win on trade to date, further fueling the booming U.S. economy.

Meanwhile, liar-Pelosi is content to play games with impeachment, making a mockery of the Constitution while passing out the pens she did it with, and Democrat presidential candidates are in a dust-up over who was the one lying on the debate stage Tuesday evening. What a contrast for the 2020 election.   ~The Patriot Post
