{westernjournal.com} ~ For those still not convinced the attacks by dummycrats-Democrats on Judge Brett Kavanaugh are nothing but an 11th hour attempt to derail his confirmation to the Supreme Court... conservative TV and radio host Laura Ingraham would like to offer another bit of evidence. “If Kavanaugh had done any of what he’s accused of, the liar-Clinton War Room would have destroyed him in 1998 when he was a top official in Ken Starr’s Whitewater Investigation,” she said Wednesday via Twitter. Her reference is to the scandal involving former President liar-Bill Clinton during his time as the governor of Arkansas. He and his wife, former first lady and two-time presidential candidate liar-Hillary Clinton, were later investigated by a special counsel while liar=-Bill Clinton was president over suspicious real estate dealing in what became known as “Whitewater.” The special counsel role for the Whitewater probe in the 1990s was filled by Kenneth Starr. NPR noted in an August profile of Kavanaugh that the Supreme Court nominee was also involved in the investigation, specially chosen by Starr. “In 1994, Kavanaugh wasn’t even 30 years old. He was finishing up a Supreme Court clerkship and was recruited to a big deal law firm, when the guy who recruited him, Ken Starr, was drafted to take over the independent counsel investigation into Whitewater,” NPR reported. “‘So, I immediately sat down with Brett over lunch and encouraged him to postpone the private practice of law by say, oh, six months or so, and come join my team in the Washington, D.C., office,'” Starr told NPR....

nuclear warehouse, urges IAEA to go inspect it

{timesofisrael.com} ~ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday revealed what he said was a previously unknown Iranian nuclear site... saying it could contain up to 300 tons of nuclear material, and accused the International Atomic Energy Agency of failing to investigate findings that he presented earlier this year about Iran’s nuclear program. Speaking to the United Nations General Assembly, Netanyahu also revealed what he said were Hezbollah precision missile sites hidden in Beirut, warned that Israel would act against Iran “whenever and wherever,” praised US President Donald Trump for defunding the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, and attacked the Palestinian Authority for paying monthly salaries to convicted terrorists.The prime minister said the IAEA, the UN’s nuclear agency, had failed to take any action after he revealed in April a nuclear archive that Israeli spies managed to spirit out of Iran, and so he was now revealing what he said was a “secret atomic warehouse” in the Turquzabad district of Tehran, a few miles from the archive. Netanyahu claimed the warehouse was used for “storing massive amounts of equipment and material from Iran’s secret weapons program,” which was quickly being moved to other parts of the city....
Exposing the Danger of #MeToo
by Thomas Gallatin: The #MeToo movement, complete with the hashtag for social media, started out as an awareness campaign that aimed to give a voice to those who had been sexually abused, assaulted, or raped by men in positions of power. Essentially, it came into existence following the revelations of years of abuse perpetrated by Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein. Soon other men in positions of power in both the media and government were exposed for having committed various acts of sexual misconduct, with many of those men finding themselves quickly ejected from their positions. However, in most cases these disgraced men have not faced legal prosecution. Why? In some instances the statute of limitations for bringing criminal charges had passed, while in other cases the activities in question did not rise to the level of criminality.But the bigger question is one of a concern over justice. Does #MeToo actually promote true justice? Unfortunately, it appears to have been fallen into orbit around the “social justice” cause of radical feminism. The mantra often parroted by many on the Left regarding #MeToo is one of “always believe the women.” This bold assertion is then justified by another equally dubious assertion that insists America’s history is one of patriarchal misogyny where women have suffered oppression under a culture that has steadfastly refused to listen to them and provide them justice, specifically when it comes to the issue of sexual abuse.
This communicates the idea that unquestioningly believing a self-identified victim’s account of experiencing sexual abuse is the only appropriate reaction. Furthermore, to question the veracity of an allegation is akin to furthering the abuse or perpetuating the crime. The big problem is that this does not — nor will it ever — lead to greater justice. This kind of thinking actually works to undermine justice. There’s a reason why Lady Justice is blindfolded.
The #MeToo movement has been co-opted into promoting tribalism rather than true justice. It justifies emotional outrage based upon identity rather than sober-mindedness based upon fact. And like other social justice causes, it conflates fairness with equity. Equity is a means of measurement not a standard for determining justice.
In the American system of jursiprudence, the accused is innocent until proven guilty, not because the accused is always innocent but because it is the only standard that protects the rights and freedoms of the individual against mob rule and witch hunting.
