Dems Are in a Supreme Mess of Their Own Making

By Robin Smith: Exactly one year ago today, on February 13, 2016, one of America's most noted jurists died, leaving a gaping hole on the U.S. Supreme Court. Associate Justice Antonin Gregory Scalia concluded his almost three-decade tenure of distinction that began in 1986. Known for his wit but also his enduring originalist constitutional approach from our land's highest court, Justice Scalia left his legacy on the Court, just as President Ronald Reagan would've surmised.
But, on this February 13, the nomination to fill this prestigious position previously held by the conservative anchor of the Court is rife with rancor of Washington politics. The stench filling the nostrils of the American public comes directly from the hypocritical rot on the Left.
Remember, this was the crowd screeching that the results of the November 8th election must be accepted as they anticipated the coronation of their propped-up candidate, liar-Hillary Clinton. Yet the confirmation of President Donald Trump's cabinet is happening at a slower pace than other presidents' first terms. According to the Washington Free Beacon, "Not since President George Washington's initial formation of a cabinet in 1789 has an American president's cabinet picks been approved as slowly as the Senate is approving President Donald Trump's nominees."
Why? The Left's Cupcake Nation not only refuses to accept the election, they are rejecting the voice of the American public daily by delaying and obstructing Trump's cabinet nominees. This includes tactics such as a boycott of a Senate hearing and the political theatrics of rhetoric that include references to Hitler, fascism and the declaration that the end of our Republic has arrived.
Likely to be one of the grandest of their hypocrisies is the confirmation process of Judge Neil Gorsuch, currently serving on the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and nominated to replace Scalia on the Supreme Court. Eleven years ago, Gorsuch was unanimously approved by the Senate. The 109th Congress was comprised of a Senate with 45 Democrats who all supported Gorsuch.
Want to guess who cast their votes of support for Judge Gorsuch? While not serving today, both liar-Hillary Clinton and Barack liar-nObama were members of the Democrat minority in the Senate along with former Secretary of State John hanoi-Kerry, former VP Joe loose lips-Biden and that all-time favorite, Dirty Harry dinky-Reid of Nevada. Still serving in today's 115th Congress: Senators Chuck Schumer, Patty Murray, Patrick Leahy, Diane Feinstein and Ron Wyden, just to name a few who found Gorsuch to be a competent jurist with integrity to adjudicate fairly.
Democrats' fount of fit-pitching bullying and tantrums may run dry regarding Gorsuch. Senate Democrats are fundraising off the fearmongering from the confirmations of Secretary of Education Betsy Devos, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, in particular. But even so, how would they justify a complete flip of position in order to reject a man they once approved? How does Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in his opposition now declare the need of the filibuster-proof 60 votes — as if it will be a high hurdle — to move the very man he once supported without reservation or comment?
Last week, Schumer, "The burden is on Judge Neil Gorsuch to prove himself to be within the legal mainstream and, in this new era, willing to vigorously defend the Constitution from abuses of the executive branch and protect the constitutionally enshrined rights of all Americans" [emphasis added].
And in what new era do we live? Following the executive activism of Barack liar-nObama and his unelected bureaucracy, which created unprecedented new rules and regulations, and the judicial activists who joined the liar-nObama Social Justice™ Department in legislating new law and refusing to enforce existing laws, Schumer and his clown car occupants would prefer judicial despots willing to comply with rewriting the Constitution.
But the Constitution has not changed. Additionally for Democrats are Gorsuch's impromptu remarks defending the judiciary from Trump's Twitter takedown of the Ninth Circus. It's clear: Senate Democrats risk further damage to their already questionable reputation as it relates to Rule of Law and ability to lead. Further, as other vacancies on the Court appear more likely than not during the Trump-Pence administration, such as the octogenarian Ruth Bader Ginsberg, the faux firestorm of protests now with Gorsuch, whose credentials are heralded as fair-minded and non-ideological by all partisans, will exhaust the flames of their grievances and struggles against other Trump nominees.
There is a group of Senate Democrats who have declared that Judge Neil Gorsuch deserves an up or down vote versus a filibuster. Ironically, but not surprisingly, they hail mostly from Red States and will find their names on the ballot in November 2018. Funny how election cycles play into one's rhetoric and votes.
Trump was carried into office based on key issues relating to the Supreme Court's composition for years to come, illegal immigration and dealing with radical Islamic terrorism.
The nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch is the fulfillment of one of Trump's critical campaign pledges and his likely approval to the Supreme Court will resonate for years to come. Democrats' next moves will either cater to the angry protesters of the far Left or logically save the fight for another day and a subsequent vacancy.
We'll soon see if logic continues to be anathema for Democrats.  ~The Patriot Post

{gatestone.eu} ~ Multiple sources reported three days ago that Nadeem Muhammed (43), was in court on Monday for flying with a pipe bomb in his hand luggage... He had been boarding a Ryanair flight to Bergamo, Italy when he was held under the UK’s Terrorism Act following a security screening. After allegedly telling officers the device had been planted by someone else, he was released on bail, however, and allowed to travel. Which he did. He flew to Italy and stayed there while tests in the UK revealed that the ‘batteries’ were actually a “viable device“, containing sufficient explosives to cause “serious damage and loss of life” on board a plane, as heard by the court. Consisting of a “small pipe, like a large market pen,” it was filled with a “smokeless propellant often found in ammunition.” On his return to the UK by way of Manchester Airport on Sunday, Muhammed was arrested and charged with being in possession of an explosive substance. He is now back in custody and due to appear in court in March...

{patrioticviralnews.com} ~ The NSA has the ability to monitor just about any form of communication sent and received in the United States. It also has a network that reaches out into other regions around the world... If you remember your history lessons from high school you’ll likely recall being taught that the British uncovered a communication that was to be sent from Germany to Mexico, asking it to attack the United Stated during World War I that propelled the U.S. into the War to End All Wars. Listening to communication is important and it keeps us safe. Yet before leaving office, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch signed a secret NSA deal that might put us all in danger. What exactly did she sign? Check out the video to find out.  http://patrioticviralnews.com/articles/loretta-lynch-stabbed-the-american-people-in-the-back-in-her-last-days-in-office/

{investigativeproject.org} ~ The election of Yehya Sinwar to lead Hamas in Gaza represents the completion of a lengthy takeover by the terror movement's military wing at the expense of the political wing... and it could signal a more imminent confrontational path with Israel than previously thought. The Izzadin Al-Kassam Brigades gradually have been pushing aside Hamas's political wing, seeing it as an impediment to its jihadist war efforts against Israel. Sinwar and his military wing comrades want to reestablish their alliance with Iran and boost a tactical partnership with ISIS in the Sinai Peninsula...  http://www.investigativeproject.org/5794/new-hamas-leader-a-vicious-killer-portends-new

{dailycaller.com} ~ Department of Justice officials won’t prosecute an unnamed senior FBI executive who ordered subordinates to create false records saying she had recused herself from dealing with the contractor that employed her husband... according to the Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General (IG). The IG investigation found that the FBI executive never disqualified herself and created the “appearance of a conflict of interest” by failing to obtain a waiver allowing such involvement. She then directed subordinate employees to “draft official records stating that she was recused from matters involving the contractor, when in fact she took no official action to do so or to obtain the required waiver,” the IG said. The IG did not describe the specifics of the executive’s involvement with the contractor. The IG also found the FBI official failed to report the source of her husband’s income on annual ethics filings from 2010 to 2014...  http://dailycaller.com/2017/02/16/doj-wont-prosecute-fbi-exec-who-made-subordinates-create-false-records/?utm_source=WhatCountsEmail&utm_medium=TheDC%20Morning&utm_campaign=TheDC%20Evening

Forget Flynn; Logan Act Could Ensnare

{thenewamerican.com} ~ Globalists and establishment types, watch out. The establishment media-driven brouhaha over Trump's national security advisor Lt. General Michael Flynn, who just resigned amid the controversy... has resurrected talk of an obscure U.S. law known as the Logan Act. Passed more than 200 years ago, the federal statute makes it a crime for Americans to seek to influence the policies of foreign governments without official permission from U.S. authorities. And Flynn aside, there are plenty of Americans in that category — potentially including top power-brokers ranging from liar-nObama and House Minority Leader Nancy Pulosi to senior globalists and Bilderberg bigwigs including David Rockefeller and Henry Kissinger. Anti-Trump forces and the establishment media organs they control have alleged that Flynn's phone call with the Russian government's U.S. ambassador may have run afoul of the 1799 statute. At the time of the phone call, Flynn was a top official on Trump's transition team. But the globalists, Democrats, and others touting the Logan Act should be very careful what they wish for. If the act were to actually be enforced, more than a few globalists and senior members of the ruling establishment might find themselves behind bars...

If It Is Really “Country First,”
Both Sides Need to Defuse This
Situation With an Independent Counsel

{theresurgent.com} ~ A lot of people who think Edward Snowden and Bradley Manning are American heroes are under the impression Donald Trump and members of his administration are traitors. Hollywood celebrities are openly calling for a military coup. Political commentators are comparing Donald Trump’s election to 9/11 or Pearl Harbor because, allegedly and with no evidence, Russia stole the election. I would encourage you to read John Podhoretz on just how bad this situation could get.

On the other side, more and more Trump supporters are treating the American intelligence community as the enemy. The President grows more suspicious of the intel community by the way and he has good reason to do so.

Right now, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that intelligence agents are withholding information from Donald Trump because they fear it will be given to the bad guys. The New York Times is reporting Donald Trump is about to send in a friend to clean house. The intelligence community is concerned.

This is all going to end badly. Just about all of us were wrong about where 2016 would lead and now we can all see the worst case on the horizon.

The left is in a nonstop state of agitation calling for mass resistance. Trump supporters are looking to settle scores. Democrats have every incentive to play up unproven allegations that the Russians tampered with the election. Republicans have every reason to play up the theory that the intelligence community is out to get the President.

Both sides need to work to defuse this situation. It is escalating quickly and given antics on both sides, I concur with John Podhoretz that things could turn violent.

The wisest course of action is for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to name an independent counsel to examine two questions and for both sides to stand down on the matter while the investigation is ongoing.

First, did the Trump campaign collaborate with the Russians to affect the election?

Second, are some members of the intelligence community leaking to undermine the President?

We need answers to both. The first to satisfy the left and the second to satisfy the right.

What seems most plausible to me is that the Trump team individuals with known ties to Russia probably were in communication with the Russians about their other business dealings, not Trump. As the New York Times is reporting and everyone is ignoring, there is plenty of evidence of communications, but no evidence at all of coordination.

If both sides will not cooperate on defusing this situation, we are in for some seriously rocky times.

Concurrently to all of this, Mitch McConnell needs to hurry the hell up and get the rest of the cabinet and Neil Gorsuch confirmed. The executive departments need stability and we need someone on the Supreme Court who can break 4-4 decisions on controversial matters. The left is going to have to get over their phony “stolen seat” talking point. The right is going to have to concede the left has legitimate concerns about the Russian mess.

The constant inflaming of grievances by political organizations is going to do us all in. The President’s on twitter antics are part of that.

Lastly, I would add just one thing that some will not like, but should still be said. Some of us, myself included, have been raising the red flag about Donald Trump staffers and Russia since before he was even the Republican nominee. Many prominent media outlets chose to ignore the story entirely until Wikileaks started releasing information detrimental to the liar-Clinton campaign. Since then, there have been more and more leaks from the intelligence community and greater, louder, and more prominent media coverage of the Trump-Russia story.

I have to wonder, though, why every story still has to note that THERE IS NO EVIDENCE AT ALL of Trump-Russian collaboration. Given the open hostility for the President that the intelligence community has, one would think they would have produced some actual proof of something other than innuendo by now, if there was something to produce. But they have not.
