Dems Still Aiming for Ammo Ban
Democrats are up in arms over the ATF's decision to forgo -- for now -- its proposed ban on M855 ammo. New York Democrat Rep. Steve Israel's office sent out a press statement condemning the ATF and demanding the bureau "reevaluate the decision and immediately ban 5.56 mm M855 green tip ammunition, commonly referred to as 'armor-piercing' or 'cop-killer' bullets." Israel himself said, "The ATF's decision to cave to the gun lobby and allow life threatening armor-piercing bullets to remain on the streets is not only reckless, but cowardly. I stand with our law enforcement officers and first responders who risk their lives every day to keep our communities safe -- ATF should stop jeopardizing their safety and Congress must pass common-sense gun safety laws to protect lives and keep our men and women in uniform safe." He can call this ammo "cop-killer" all he wants, but, as Ronald Reagan used to say, "The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so." Exactly ZERO cops have been killed by this "cop-killer" round, which, in our book, undercuts the scary name. But never mind the facts when Democrats want to infringe gun rights.

 Surprise! State Can't Find Clinton's OF-109 Form
A conveniently timed and prepositioned exoneration? That's what
Americans are contemplating regarding Hilly Clinton after Jen Psaki, spokeswoman for the State Department, conceded during a press briefing Tuesday there is no evidence Clinton signed Form OF-109. That "separation form," as it's known, is crucial because, as Mediaite explains, "Employees leaving the State Department are required to sign the form, which says the employee turned over all official records before leaving." But according to Psaki, "We have reviewed Secretary Clinton's official personnel file and administrative files, and do not have any record of her signing the OF-109." After being pressed further, she added, "I think we're fairly certain she did not" sign the document. Even if we accept that at face value, something still doesn't add up. As Hot Air's Allahpundit points out, "Psaki claims here that they don't have OF-109s from Colin Powell or Condi Rice either." Is it true? Who knows. But, assuming it is, Allahpundit continued, "Josh Earnest [said] that even senior staff at the White House are required to go through the formal separation process when they leave. ... What kind of accountability norm regards disclosure as less important from an official with more responsibility?" Whether intentional or not, Clinton would love nothing more than to see the focus turn to long-held State procedures. Whether she gets off that easy will be up to investigators. More...

We Can No Longer Talk About Race in a Coffee Shop
Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz embarked on an idea that's too late for its time. The age when coffee shop patrons could openly talk about race with a stranger is long past. Over the weekend, the company that serves up over-roasted bean announced it was launching a campaign to have its baristas start a conversation about race by writing the phrase "Race Together" on the sides of its cups. Furthermore, Starbucks announced it would partner with USA Today to produce a pamphlet that prompts coffee guzzlers to start thinking more about race. For example, one question asks, "How have your racial views evolved from those of your parents?" And another fill-in-the-blank question says, "I have been to the home of someone of a different race ___ times." Schultz's idea is an old one that goes back to the beginning of coffee shops, when they were used by intellectuals in the Enlightenment as a forum to brew and filter ideas. But that was before coffee shops had drive-through windows and primarily served as a fueling station for overworked brains. Now, Starbucks is trying to distill the conversation about race down to two words, and that turns into a clumsy message that even liberal rag Think Progress opposes. More...

WashPo Leftist: 'Uncomfortable Truths' About Ferguson
Liberal Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart stepped up and fessed up this week, setting the record straight on the Ferguson race-bait case -- sort of. Capehart is now under attack by liberals nationwide, who also bought into the faux "hands up, don't shoot" narrative of the shooting of street thug Michael Brown. According to Capehart, "In those early hours and early days, there was more unknown than known." That was probably why genuine journalists should not have jumped to conclusions, as Capehart did. He continued, "But this month, the Justice Department released two must-read investigations connected to the killing of Brown that filled in blanks, corrected the record and brought sunlight to dark places by revealing ugly practices that institutionalized racism and hardship. They have also forced me to deal with two uncomfortable truths: Brown never surrendered with his hands up, and Wilson was justified in shooting Brown. ... [W]e must never allow ourselves to march under the banner of a false narrative on behalf of someone who would otherwise offend our sense of right and wrong." More...  -The Patriot Post

Gore Wants to 'Put a Price on Climate Denial'
Climate alarmism ringleader Al Gore spoke at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas, where he advocated sanctioning skeptics of man-made global warming through cap-and-trade. "Al Gore on Friday called on SXSW attendees to punish climate-change deniers, saying politicians should pay a price for rejecting 'accepted science,'" the Chicago Tribune reported. "Gore said smart investors are moving away from companies tied to fossil fuels and toward companies investing in alternative energy." According to the former vice president, "We need to put a price on carbon to accelerate these market trends. And in order to do that, we need to put a price on denial in politics." The overwhelming consensus, he explained, leaves no room for debate: "In addition to 99% of the scientists and all the professional scientific organizations, now Mother Nature is weighing in." What happened to the 97% figure that alarmists, including Barack nObama, regularly cite? Is Gore admitting that percentage is a sham, just like his new claim? The fact remains, Mother Nature has been weighing in since long before the enviro-Left saw climate change as a power grab opportunity. And that's exactly what cap-and-trade is -- a system that provides government greater opportunity to regulate your life according to its dictates. More...   -The Patriot Post

The Ferguson Hoax and Media Truth-telling
(Cliff Kincaid) - You know the standards of the media have hit rock bottom when a liberal commentator makes news for telling the truth...Jonathan Capehart of The Washington Post and MSNBC has become a media star for his belated recognition of the “Hands up, don’t shoot” lie out of Ferguson, Missouri. Better late than never, except for the fact that this liberal narrative was always in dispute. There was never any legitimate reason to believe that Police Officer Darren Wilson had simply fired on Michael Brown for no reason. The appropriate reaction to Capehart’s Damascus Road conversion to the truth should be: What took you so long? And what will you do to make sure you never fall for such a vicious lie again?       http://www.aim.org/aim-column/the-ferguson-hoax-and-media-truth-telling/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email031915&utm_medium=email

Iran endorses nuclear EMP attack on United States
(Paul Bedard) - Suspected for years of plotting to dismantle the U.S. electric grid, American officials have confirmed that Iranian military brass have endorsed a nuclear electromagnetic pulse explosion that would attack the country’s power system...American defense experts made the discovery while translating a secret Iranian military handbook, raising new concerns about Tehran’s recent nuclear talks with the administration. The issue of a nuclear EMP attack was raised in the final hours of this week’s elections in Israel when U.S. authority Peter Vincent Pry penned a column for Arutz Sheva warning of Iran’s threat to free nations. nObama would let them do this and blame Bush.       http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/iran-endorses-nuclear-emp-attack-on-united-states/article/2561733

Pulosi: 'Mistake' To Investigate Hilly's Email
(Bradford Thomas) - House Minority Leader Nancy Pulosi (D-CA) insisted Thursday that Republicans are making a “mistake” by investigating by Hilly Clinton’s emails, calling the move a "partisan investigation" that would just end up being a "big waste of taxpayer money."...Speaking to reporters Thursday about the House Select Committee on Benghazi subpoena of Clinton's work-related emails during her time as Secretary of State, Pulosi argued that this really wasn't about emails, but just another GOP political attack: Despite the "big waste" of time and money, however, the Democrat House leader predicted Republicans would continue to drum up reasons to perpetuate their "ongoing" investigations into Hilly:       http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/pelosi-mistake-investigate-hillarys-email

Is There a Crisis in U.S.-Israel Relations?
(mosaicmagazine.com) - The editors of Commentary believe there is, and they know which parties bear the responsibility for it...The relationship between the United States and Israel is in jeopardy because, from the moment his administration began, Barack nObama has consciously, deliberately, and with malice aforethought sought to jeopardize it. He did so in part because he is committed to the idea that Israel must retreat to its 1967 borders, dismantle its settlements, and will a Palestinian state into existence. He views Israel’s inability or unwillingness to do these things as a moral stain. But the depth of nObama’s anger toward Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu suggests that there is far more to it than that. Israel stands in the way of what the president hopes might be his crowning foreign-policy achievement: a new order in the Middle East represented by a new entente with Iran.       http://mosaicmagazine.com/picks/2015/03/is-there-a-crisis-in-u-s-israel-relations/?utm_source=Mosaic+Newsletter&utm_campaign=e5052f89c9-Mosaic_2015_03_20&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0b0517b2ab-e5052f89c9-42459765

 AWOL on the defense budget
(Thomas Donnelly,Gary J. Schmitt ) - “The single biggest threat to our national security is our debt.” That was a myopic claim when made by chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen back in September 2011...But for the House Republicans to recycle it now—as Vladimir Putin’s troops gnaw their way across eastern Ukraine, as ISIS ruthlessly builds its “caliphate,” as Iran wriggles its way out of sanctions and toward regional hegemony, as China pushes its fleets into the Pacific—to promote their defense budget proposals is to demonstrate an accountant’s eye for national security and, indeed, for politics in general. The Senate budget plan is no better. If Senate budgeteers have their way, America’s commitment to defense will in the years ahead increasingly look more like that of a European state than of the American superpower of years past.       http://www.aei.org/publication/house-senate-budget-resolutions-fail-defense/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=aeitoday032015

 "Pro-Reform Islamism" in Turkey
(Burak Bekdil) - When formerly militant Islamists reflagged themselves as pro-European Union reformists and came to power in Turkey in 2002, they launched a propaganda campaign to send one single message to liberal Turks and a suspicious West... "Don't be afraid. We are here to broaden civil liberties." They were right, at least partially: They were there to broaden civil liberties -- but for devout Muslims only. The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) passionately (and quite sensibly) asserted that a campus ban on the Islamic headscarf must be lifted because it violated a girl student's right to dress as she deems fit. What was wrong if a student wears a garment that manifests her faith? Right? Right. So far, so good. There was a minor problem, though: The AKP was never interested in broadening universal liberties, on campus or elsewhere; its mission was to broaden liberties for the devout Sunni majority and restrict those for everyone else. True, no one who does not want to wear a headscarf must wear one, but Erdogan & Co. have never hidden their contempt for modern attire for women. A few weeks ago, Erdogan said, "Let them stubbornly defend their mini-skirts and cleavage... We shall keep working to raise generations loyal to their faith and history.       http://www.meforum.org/5122/reformist-islamism-turkey

nObama’s Jihad: Threatens Sanctions Against Israel
(pamelageller.com) - nObama’s unhinged obsession with the Jews is bordering on mental illness. The world is in chaos. Whole swaths of the Middle East and Africa are embroiled in jihadi wars, the human toll of which is unfathomable, and nObama is hellbent on the tiny Jewish state surrendering to that vicious antisemitic imperialism...It’s shocking and genocidal. nObama is putting the screws to Israel. Think about that. Is that really the best move in America’s best interests? Meanwhile, the nObama administration paid 490 million dollars this week to Iran, the world’s largest state sponsor of terror, and will give them a total of $11.9 billion by the end of June. The U.S. government might impose sanctions on Israel or allow its greatest ally in the Middle East to be tried in the International Criminal Court. My question is, where does nObama have the authority to be giving money away like that?     http://pamelageller.com/2015/03/obamas-jihad-threatens-sanctions-against-israel-makes-excuses-for-iran.html/

An Islamic Center Comes to Santa Barbara
(Arnold Ahlert) - The Islamic Society of Santa Barbara (ISSB) is determined to construct a 10,000-square ft. mosque in Goleta, CA. Their effort to do so began in 2001 when they purchased a parcel of land in Goleta, CA, a recently incorporated town in Santa Barbara County...That was followed by an application for construction filed by developers in 2003. In December 2013, the the Goleta City Council unanimously approved the project. “All of us made history today,” ISSB Chairman Jamal Hamdani said at the time. “I am truly proud to be an American, a Muslim, and a member of this community.” The ISSB was founded in 1984 and according to its website it is a 501(c)(3) independent organization. Their ideological commitments include teaching the Qur’an and the customs of the Prophet Mohammed, and they insist their approach to Islam is one in which they will “educate and remind,” rather than “compel, dictate, judge, or classify.” Yet there is a bit of disingenuousness attached to one of their statements: “Islam is a set of philosophical and spiritual outlooks; ISSB does not engage in political activities.” But where is the funding coming form?       http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/arnold-ahlert/an-islamic-center-comes-to-santa-barbara/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=741d213502-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-741d213502-156509103

Abbas Paving the Way to Turn West Bank into an Islamist State
(Khaled Abu Toameh) - Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas and the PLO leadership in the West Bank are once again threatening to halt security coordination with Israel...this time in protest over the victory of Binyamin Netanyahu and his Likud Party in Israel's March 17 general elections. The latest threat was made during a meeting of PLO leaders, headed by Abbas in Ramallah, to discuss the outcome of the Israeli elections. At the meeting, the PLO leaders decided to ask the commanders of the PA security forces in the West Bank to come up with a "detailed plan" to stop security coordination with Israel.       http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5419/west-bank-islamist-state

nObama's Amnesty Attacked By Federal Judge
(foxnews.com) - A federal judge sharply scolded a Justice Department attorney at a hearing on President nObama's immigration executive actions, suggesting that the administration misled him on a key part of the program -- and that he fell for it, "like an idiot."...The testy court hearing was held Thursday in Texas by U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen. The judge suggested he could order sanctions against the administration if he finds they indeed misrepresented the facts.  At issue is whether the DOJ misled the judge into believing that a plank of the nObama program -- giving deportation reprieves to thousands of young illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children -- would not go forward before he made a ruling on a request to halt it. In fact, federal officials had given more than 108,000 people three-year reprieves before that date and granted them work permits under the program.        http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/03/20/judge-sanctions-possible-in-obama-immigration-court-case/

Stuck in Scandal Land
As long as she is in public life, Hilly will protect and serve herself
Peggy Noonan

(peggynoonan.com) - Doesn’t the latest Hilly Clinton scandal make you want to throw up your hands and say: Do we really have to do this again? Do we have to go back there? People assume she is our next president. We are defining political deviancy down.

The scandal this week is that we have belatedly found out, more than two years after she left the office of secretary of state, that throughout Mrs. Clinton’s four-year tenure she did not conduct official business through the State Department email system. She had her own private email addresses and her own private Internet domain, on her own private server at one of her own private homes, in Chappaqua, N.Y. Which means she had, and has, complete control of the emails. If a journalist filed a Freedom of Information Act request asking to see emails of the secretary of state, the State Department had nothing to show. If Congress asked to see them, State could say there was nothing to see. (Two months ago, on the request of State, Mrs. Clinton turned over a reported 55,000 pages of her emails. She and her private aides apparently got to pick which ones.)

Is it too much to imagine that Mrs. Clinton wanted to conceal the record of her communications as America’s top diplomat because she might have been doing a great deal of interesting work in those emails, not only with respect to immediate and unfolding international events but with respect to those who would like to make a positive impression on the American secretary of state by making contributions to the Clinton Foundation, which not only funds many noble causes but is the seat of operations of Clinton Inc. and its numerous offices, operatives, hangers-on and campaign-in-waiting?

What a low and embarrassing question. It is prompted by last week’s scandal—that the Clinton Foundation accepted foreign contributions during Mrs. Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state. It is uncomfortable to ask such questions, but that’s the thing with the Clintons, they always make you go there.

The mainstream press is all over the story now that it has blown. It’s odd that it took so long. Everyone at State, the White House, and the rest of the government who received an email from the secretary of state would have seen where it was coming from—a nongovernmental address. You’d think someone would have noticed.

With the exception of the moment Wednesday when a hardy reporter from TMZ actually went to an airport and shouted a query at Mrs. Clinton—it was just like the old days of journalism, with a stakeout and shouted queries—Mrs. Clinton hasn’t been subjected to any questions from the press. She’ll slide, she’ll glide, she’ll skate. (With TMZ she just walked on, smiling.)

Why would she ignore regulations to opt out of the State email system? We probably see the answer in a video clip posted this week on Buzzfeed. Mrs. Clinton, chatting with a supporter at a fundraiser for her 2000 Senate campaign, said: “As much as I’ve been investigated and all of that, you know, why would I . . . ever want to do email?”

But when you’re secretary of state you have to. So she did it her way, with complete control. It will make it harder, if not impossible, for investigators.

The press is painting all this as a story about how Mrs. Clinton, in her love for secrecy and control, has given ammunition to her enemies. But that’s not the story. The story is that this is what she does, and always has. The rules apply to others, not her. She’s special, entitled, exempt from the rules—the rules under which, as the Federalist reports, the State Department in 2012 forced the resignation of a U.S. ambassador, “in part for setting up an unsanctioned private e-mail system.”

Why doesn’t the legacy press swarm her on this? Because she is political royalty. They are used to seeing her as a regal, queenly figure. They’ve been habituated to understand that Mrs. Clinton is not to be harried, not to be subjected to gotcha questions or impertinent grilling. She is a Democrat, a star, not some grubby Republican governor from nowhere. And they don’t want to be muscled by her spokesmen. The wildly belligerent Philippe Reines sends reporters insulting, demeaning emails if they get out of line. He did it again this week. It is effective in two ways. One is that it diverts attention from his boss, makes Mr. Reines the story, and in the process makes her look comparatively sane. The other is that reporters don’t want a hissing match with someone who implies he will damage them. They can’t afford to be frozen out. She’s probably the next president: Their careers depend on access.

But how will such smash-mouth tactics play the next four, five years?

Back to the questions at the top of the column.

Sixteen years ago, when she was first running for the Senate, I wrote a book called “The Case Against Hilly Clinton.” I waded through it all—cattle futures, Travelgate, the lost Rose law firm records, women slimed as bimbos, foreign campaign cash, the stealth and secrecy that marked the creation of the health-care plan, Monica, the vast right-wing conspiracy. As I researched I remembered why, four years into the Clinton administration, the New York Times columnist William Safire called Hilly “a congenital liar . . . compelled to mislead, and to ensnare her subordinates and friends in a web of deceit.”

Do we have to go through all that again?

In 1992 the Clintons were new and golden. Now, so many years later, their reputation for rule breaking and corruption is so deep, so assumed, that it really has become old news. And old news isn’t news.

An aspect of the story goes beyond criticism of Mrs. Clinton and gets to criticism of us. A generation or two ago, a person so encrusted in a reputation for scandal would not be considered a possible presidential contender. She would be ineligible. Now she is inevitable.

What happened? Why is her party so in her thrall?

She’s famous? The run itself makes you famous. America didn’t know who Jack Kennedy was in 1959; in 1961 he was king of the world. The same for nObama in ’08.

Money? Sure she’s the superblitz shock-and-awe queen of fundraising, but pretty much any Democrat in a 50/50 country would be able to raise what needs to be raised.

She’s a woman? There are other women in the Democratic Party.

She’s inevitable? She was inevitable in 2008. Then, suddenly, she was evitable.

Her talent is for survival. This on its own terms is admirable and takes grit. But others have grit. As for leadership, she has a sharp tactical sense but no vision, no overall strategic sense of where we are and where we must go.

What is freezing the Democrats is her mystique. But mystique can be broken. A nobody called nObama broke hers in 2008.

Do we really have to return to Scandal Land? It’s what she brings wherever she goes. And it’s not going to stop.
