Is 'Freddie Gray' the Right Name for a Youth Center?
If black lives really matter — and they absolutely do — the black community should be making some different choices. Case in point from the Fox affiliate in Baltimore: "A new Baltimore youth center has been named in honor of Freddie Gray." You'll recall that Gray is the black man who was arrested and later died from a spinal injury he received while in a police van. As with the deaths of Michael Brown and, to a far lesser extent, Eric Garner, Gray's death led to riots in Baltimore and charges against the arresting officers. So what will kids learn at the Freddie Gray Youth Empowerment Center? It will offer job and computer training along with year-round community programs and free meals. Those are honorable things, and we're certainly glad to see the church community of Baltimore take the lead in helping kids. But Gray's "martyrdom" as part of a leftist narrative of racist police doesn't automatically make him a role model for Baltimore's youth. We just pray these kids are able to free themselves from the all-too-typical inner city fate.  -The Patriot Post

nObama’s Prison Reform: More Votes for Democrats
On the heels of commuting the sentences of 46 drug offenders on Monday, Barack nObama is pushing for sweeping reforms for the U.S prison system. During a speech before the NAACP on Tuesday, he outlined his three-pronged approach, stating that reform needs to happen “In the community, the courtroom and in the cell block.” And today he'll become the first sitting president to visit a federal prison. The bad news is he won't be staying there.
At the community level, nObama proposes diverting money saved through prison reform to education. If the money were to go to colleges, high schools or perhaps even middle schools, there might be some merit to his proposition. But he and the educrats in Washington want the money to be invested in pre-kindergarten, allegedly so crime can be stopped before it starts.
Last we checked, not many toddlers were thinking about using drugs, or committing other non-violent crimes. Humor aside, "Head Start," the model for universal pre-k, has been shown to have virtually no benefit. Besides, is it really better to leave it up to the government rather than parents to teach their kids right and wrong? Certainly not, but nObama and his fellow progressives would like nothing more than to indoctrinate children at an even earlier age.  -The Patriot Post

Congress Objects to nObama's Snub With Iran Deal
As a supreme thumb in the eye to Congress, Barack nObama is set to pursue a UN Security Council resolution approving his lousy Iran deal before Congress has a chance to weigh in. The move is significant, and is clearly intended to pressure Congress to bow to nObama's wishes and, as he put it, "99% of the world community." The Heritage Foundation's Brett Schaefer explains, "Once the Security Council takes action on this matter, it will rescind seven painstakingly negotiated Security Council resolutions adopted over the past decade. It will also start the clock on a cascade of sanctions relief commitments by the U.S. and the European Union." In May, nObama signed into law a deal not to waive sanctions before Congress had at least 60 days to review the Iran deal. But UN action would make reinstating even some of those sanctions almost a laughable idea.
In a letter to nObama, Reps. Ed Royce (R-CA) and Michael McCaul (R-TX) wrote, “It is distressing that your administration would afford Russia and China the opportunity to vote on the final agreement before the American people’s representatives do. The full 60-day review period and parliamentary procedures prescribed by the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act should be allowed to play out before action at the Security Council.” Unfortunately, also a laughable idea is nObama treating Congress as a co-equal branch. He'll veto a rejection and ignore them if his veto is overridden. Then again, Congress itself bares a share of the blame for surrendering some authority over the deal. Now the clock is ticking.   -The Patriot Post

 Disciplinary Threat Scares DHS
Facing the possibility of disciplinary action, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson decided now's a good time to comply with Rule of Law. Writing at National Review, Hans von Spakovsky reports that Johnson "has finally taken action to reverse the three-year work authorizations his department issued unlawfully to 2,500 illegal aliens." Federal Judge Andrew Hanen issued an injunction temporarily banning the procedure in February and reaffirmed that ruling in April. But nObama's aristocrats bureaucrats decided to grant thousands of illegal immigrants amnesty anyway, giving Judge Hanen no other choice but to order them to court. He insisted, "Each individual Defendant must attend and be prepared to show why he or she should not be held in contempt of Court." That evidently rattled Johnson, promoting him to hastily reverse course. On Wednesday, von Spakovsky explains, "the Justice Department submitted to the court copies of two new 'directives' from Johnson to Leon Rodriguez, the director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. (Rodriguez is one of the officials named in Hanen's July 7 order.) The first directive, dated July 10, three days after Hanen's appearance order, directs Rodriguez to mail a 'Notice of Intent to Terminate' to the original 2,000 recipients of these unlawful work permits ... The second directive, dated July 14, basically sets out the same plan of action to take care of the additional 500 illegal aliens who unlawfully received three-year EADs." This administration is accustomed to bullying its way through the courts. Thanks to Judge Hanen, it's hit a brick wall.  -The Patriot Post

 ISIS MONSTERS AND CHRISTIAN VICTIMS
{Jack Kerwick} ~ Today in the Islamic Middle East, Christians like the Abada family in Iraq suffer real persecution the likes of which most of us can scarcely imagine... It has been nearly a year now since Ayda and Khader Abada have laid eyes upon their three-year-old daughter. On August 22 of last year, ISIS militants snatched little Christine from the arms of her mother, Ayda. To this day, her parents haven’t a clue as to her fate. Ayda and Khader Abada are the parents of five children.  On August 6, 2014, a little less than three weeks before their daughter was snatched from them, Islamic State zealots took command of their home city of Qaraqosh.  But because Christine’s father, Khader, is blind, he and his family, not unlike many of their neighbors with comparable disabilities, were left with little option but to stay put.        http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/259491/isis-monsters-and-christian-victims-jack-kerwick

 Japan vs. The Islamic State
{themuslimissue.wordpress.com} ~ The Japanese, like the rest of the world, is not happy with Muslims. Muslims should learn the meaning of the word kamikaze... The brutal beheadings of Japanese nationals Kenji Goto and Haruna Yukawa by the Islamic State in January have shocked the island nation and lent momentum to an effort to expand the limitations imposed on its constitution and military after its defeat by the United States in World War II. Leftists in Japan fear that the incident will encourage a departure from the country’s pacifist constitution, whose Article 9 states that “the Japanese people forever renounce… the threat or use of force as a means of settling international disputes.” Right-wingers, meanwhile, see an opportunity to allow Japan to assert itself as a truly sovereign state.

nObama ignored jailed Americans for Iran deal
{Bill Bumpas} ~ A law firm representing the family of imprisoned pastor Saeed Abedeni says he and three other hostages in Iran have been abandoned by the nObama Administration during its nuclear deal with Iran... "It's unconscionable that the nObama administration submitted this deal to Congress and to the American people without first securing the release of these Americans," observes Jordan Sekulow, executive director of the American Center for Law and Justice. ACLJ has been lobbying Congress and the White House for Abedini's release, and sought and got a meeting with the pastor's wife, Naghmeh, and President nObama in January. Half a year after that meeting, Sekulow tells OneNewsNow that President nObama broke a promise to make Pastor Saeed's release a top priority.       http://www.onenewsnow.com/persecution/2015/07/17/aclj-obama-ignored-jailed-americans-for-iran-deal?utm_source=OneNewsNow&utm_medium=email&utm_term=16781562&utm_content=565493864984&utm_campaign=20725

Fracking Used to Inject Nuclear Waste Underground for Decades
{worldtruth.tv} ~ Recently unearthed articles from the 1960s detail how  nuclear waste was buried beneath the Earth’s surface by Halliburton & Co. for decades, as a means of disposing the by-products of post-World War II atomic energy production... Fracking is already a controversial practice on its face, so  allowing industries to inject slurries of toxic, potentially carcinogenic compounds deep beneath the planet’s surface — as a means of “see no evil” waste disposal —  already sounds ridiculous and  dangerous without even going into further detail. Alleged links between fracking and the  contamination of the public water supply and critical aquifers, as well as ties to earthquake upticks near drilling locations that are otherwise not prone to  seismic activity, have created uproar in the years since the “Cheney loophole”  was implemented in 2005, which allowed the industry to circumvent the Safe Drinking Water Act by exempting fracking fluids, thus fast tracking shale fracking as a source of cheap natural gas.

Iran Deal: The Great Bamboozle Festival
{Douglas Murray} ~ What exactly is it that the nObama administration thinks has changed about the leadership of Iran? Of all the questions which remain unanswered in the wake of the P5+1 deal with Iran, this one is perhaps the most unanswered of all... There must, after all, be something that a Western leader sees when an attempt is made to "normalize" relations with a rogue regime -- what Richard Nixon saw in the Chinese Communist Party that persuaded him that an unfreezing of relations was possible, or what Margaret Thatcher saw in the eyes of Mikhail Gorbachev, which persuaded her that here was a counterpart who could finally be trusted. After all, the outward signs with Iran would seem to remain unpromising. Last Friday in Tehran, just as the P5+1 were wrapping up their deal with the Iranians, the streets of Iran were playing host to "Al-Quds Day." The latest in a long line of "moderate" Iranian leaders, President Hassan Rouhani, turned up at one of these parades himself to see the Israeli and American flags being burned. Did he intervene? Did he explain to the crowd that they had got the wrong memo -- that America is now our friend and that they ought at least to concentrate their energies on the mass-burning of Stars of David? No, he took part as usual, and the crowds reacted as usual.        http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6183/iran-deal

8 unplanned results of the Iran Deal
{Danielle Pletka} ~ The Iran agreement released Tuesday will be parsed and reparsed for months... Can the inspections mechanism really work? How will Iran reduce its enriched uranium stockpile? Is it really wise to legitimize Iran’s ballistic missile program? There are a thousand questions and each side will have different answers. But what are the other implications of what Barack nObama insists is a “historic” deal?
1. Doubling down on the Muslim sectarian divide 2. More trouble for Shiite minorities 3. Dramatic increases in the military capabilities of Iranian proxies 4. The beginning of the end of the NPT 5. More bloodshed in Syria 6. Pushing Iraq further into Iran’s orbit, and more violenc 7. Cementing the partisan divide over foreign policy 8. Further weakening of the UN Security Council https://www.aei.org/publication/8-unplanned-results-of-the-iran-deal/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_content=AEITODAYSPECIAL&utm_campaign=072015

How to kill the Iran deal
{Michael Rubin} ~ The Iran deal agreed to by Secretary hanoi John Kerry and lauded by President nObama is bad. Very bad... In today’s New York Post, I describe just how bad it is on fundamental issues, such as the ability to stop Iran from eventually building a nuclear bomb. And, here at AEIdeas, I note the erosion of anytime-anywhere inspections into something much less and perhaps not at all. At the same time, however, President nObama and his supporters argue simply that there exists no alternative. It’s this deal or chaos. “No deal means no lasting constraints on Iran’s nuclear program,” he declared while announcing the agreement. In effect, nObama has played Russian roulette with the US Congress, pushing a bad deal, but hemorrhaging all leverage so it’s impossible to go back. The fact that, before this fait accompli, he and his supporters argued that there should be no criticism until the deal was revealed only adds to frustration at his scorched earth tactics.

Jihad on U.S. Troops Is Not a "Circumstance"
{Michelle Malkin} ~ Four U.S. Marines, barred from carrying weapons at naval training facilities despite explicit ISIS threats against our military, are dead in Tennessee... Another service member and a Chattanooga police officer survived gunshots after Thursday's two-stage massacre allegedly at the hands of 24-year-old jihadist Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. Navy Secretary Ray Mabus called the terrorist's spree "insidious and unfathomable." President nObama bemoaned the "heartbreaking circumstance" in which the murdered Marines found themselves. "Unfathomable"? Not if you've been paying attention. Islam-inspired hate crimes against our troops have continued unabated since the nObama White House first dismissed the 2009 Fort Hood massacre as "workplace violence."

Clintons Facilitated Donor’s Haiti Project, Defrauded U.S. Millions
{Alana Goodman} ~ A federal agency rushed to approve funding for a Clinton donor’s sham Haiti recovery project that ended up defrauding the U.S. government out of millions, according to court transcripts and internal government documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon... Miami businessman Claudio Osorio, who is currently serving 12 years in federal prison on fraud charges, leveraged his relationship with Bill and Hilly Clinton to help his company InnoVida obtain a $10 million loan from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) for a Haiti housing project in 2010. Bill Clinton helped arrange for a high-powered Florida law firm to represent Osorio during loan negotiations with OPIC, according to court testimony. An internal OPIC memo said Hilly Clinton was prepared to marshal State Department resources to assist with the donor’s project. InnoVida was supposed to use the funding to build houses in Haiti after the earthquake, but it defaulted on the loan and the homes were never built.

When Will nObama Admit We Have A Problem With Islamic Jihadists
{rickwells.us} ~ Charles Payne opens his interview of Lt Col Allen West with the politically incorrect observation that the Chattanooga terrorist was Muslim, asking if the best way to stopMuslim extremism is to address it and talk about it out in the open... West says there is nothing provocative about stating who the enemy is and we cannot continue along the path of political correctness and not admit that we are fighting Islamic jihadism. He reminds us of the June 2009 Little Rock Army recruiting station attack and the Ft Hood shooting by Nidal Hasan five months later. That incident is still misclassified by the complicit nObama regime as workplace violence. Col West asks, “When is it going to come a time when the ‘commander-in-chief’ will break his silence and finally say the thing that everyone knows, that we have a domestic problem with Islamic jihadism here and that ISIS has infiltrated this country by way of social media network?”

{aim.org} ~ I don’t want to be the sole bearer of bad news for Ben Rhodes and his fellow gurus, but here it is: the Iranians at Vienna won’t sign anything, per their instructions from Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
.
Full credit for this diplomatic accomplishment goes to President nObama, Secretary of State hanoi Kerry, Guru Rhodes and the rest of the administration strategists. Their constant offer of more-more money, more gold, more limits on annoying inspections, more cooperation in the air and on the ground with Iranian forces, etcetera etcetera-solidified Khamenei’s conviction that there is no reason for him to approve a hated deal with the devil.  It’s much better to keep talking until all the sanctions are gone, and Iran’s “right” to pursue its nuclear projects is fully recognized.
.
Keep reminding yourself that Khamenei has two fixed principles:  no “new relationship” with the Great Satan, and relentless pursuit of the atomic bomb.
.
nObama/hanoi Kerry/Rhodes won’t take “no” for a definitive answer, so we’re probably going to see a new form of creative appeasement. Short version:  It will be a “no deal deal.”  Iran promises to try really really hard to be nice and we pay for it. Everyone agrees to commit to a “real” agreement by the end of the year. Iran gets money-the continuation of the monthly payoff, and under-the-table arrangements like the gold shipment the South Africans delivered to Khamenei-and we get smiles.
.
There is no deal, per se-nobody signs anything-but we get the worst of it any how.  If hanoi John Kerry thinks that’s enough for a Nobel Peace Prize, he’s got an even lower opinion of the judgment of the Oslo crowd than I do. And he may be right. Chamberlain was widely praised as a great peacemaker for a while, and Carter was greatly admired when he proclaimed we had given up our “inordinate fear of Communism.” And we’ll keep talking, won’t we? And nObama just reiterated-at the Pentagon no less-that guns don’t defeat ideologies, only good ideas do.
.
If I were a Pentagon official and I heard the president say that, I’d have resigned on the spot.
.
There are some interesting political consequences to the “no deal deal,” and if I have it right, our Congressional warriors seem to have been mooted. They voted themselves the right to be heard on any Iran deal, but does that apply to this arrangement? Are they entitled to insist that current sanctions be vigorously enforced? The White House doesn’t want any such thing, since that would throw a real spanner into the works of the various payoffs to Tehran. The “international community” doesn’t much want that either; we’ve read a lot about “Western” businessmen/government officials lining up at the entrances to Persian bazaars. Some of them will press on. That includes our own wheelers. I am told that Iran’s fleet of Boeing jets-you know, the “civilian” aircraft that had been grounded for decades-have been refurbished.
.
What will Corker/Menendez et al do? Kredo has reported that the White House is whipping the Dems into a pliable herd to ensure Congress can’t/won’t stop the appeasement of the evil murderers around Ali Khamenei. If they succed, as any serious gambler would wage, then the Islamic Republic will continue to slaughter Syrians, Kurds, Yeminis, Saudis…you know the list…until they finally get on with the mission assigned them by the 12th Imam:  destroy us.
.
If the next president is paying attention, he/she will take names, and campaign against the appeasers. Then fire all those pathetic “military leaders” who stood at attention as nObama proclaimed them irrelevant to the great global war of our time.
