{ dailywire.com } ~ Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has reportedly created a “kill switch” for President Donald Trump’s upcoming Senate impeachment trial... that would allow for the president’s legal team to either seek an immediate verdict or a dismissal of the case if the trial descends into a circus spectacle. “I am familiar with the resolution as it stood a day or two ago,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) told Axios. “My understanding is that the resolution will give the president’s team the option to either move to judgment or to move to dismiss at a meaningful time…” “Hawley added that in the most recent draft of the organizing resolution he saw there was an option for the president’s counsel to make a motion in multiple places, including at the beginning of the proceedings,” Axios reported. “Hawley added that if the final resolution does not allow Trump’s lawyers the option to dismiss or move to judgment at a ‘meaningful point’ in the trial, he would be ‘very, very surprised,’ and might not vote for the organizing resolution.” Hawley told Axios that if the option to dismiss the case was not available to the Trump legal team that it would give House Intelligence Committee Chairman scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff (D-CA) too much power over the proceedings. Democrats want the soundbites out there for their least-informed voters, and lying is acceptable to them. scumbag liar-Nadler pushed the Russia hoax once again. He knows what he said isn’t true. It has been fully debunked and it cost tens of millions of dollars to debunk it. While discussing calling Hunter Biden as a witness, scumbag liar- Nadler accused the President of trying “to smear his political opponents for his personal benefits and to help try to rig the 2000-20 election, as he worked with the Russians to try to rig the 2000-16 election. The same pattern.” He’s despicable. How does he sleep at night? The party that loves working with foreign agents — as in the dossier or the scumbag/liar-Clinton Foundation — is concerned about foreign agents. scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff, scumbag liar-Jerrold Nadler, and Hakeem Jefferies, the Democrat impeachment managers appeared on the Sunday news shows to make their case, which is not calling their witnesses is unfair. He also accused Senate Republicans who may be reluctant to call witnesses of being “part of the cover-up.” That is an obvious ploy to bully the weak link Republicans into caving. Democrats only need four GOP defections to get their witnesses. Naturally, they don’t want any of the President’s witnesses. That is what they did in the House during the inquiry. Republicans were not allowed to call one single witness who was not on the Democrats’ list. Lindsey Graham let loose Sunday on House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi... saying that she had “orchestrated the trial of holy hell” against President Donald Trump. Graham sat down with “Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace to discuss the upcoming impeachment trial and the possibility that witnesses would be called, and the topic of conversation turned to Speaker liar-Pelosi. Wallace began the segment by asking Graham about plans for the Senate trial, noting comments from several Republicans who had voiced the desire to get through it as quickly as possible. “How do you respond to the Democratic impeachment managers who say this is just a rush to get this over with?” he asked. Graham immediately turned the argument on Speaker liar-Pelosi, saying that he liked her but that she was not doing right by the president. “I like liar-Nancy Pelosi. I have known her for years. She is a very religious person,” Graham said. “When it comes to Donald Trump, liar-Nancy Pelosi may pray privately, but she’s orchestrated the trial of holy hell.” Graham then argued that from day one, Democrats had hit President Trump with one thing after another. “You took 48 days to impeach this president,” he said. “You did not allow him to call any witnesses. He could not have a lawyer present during the House Intel Committee. This has been a partisan railroad job. And you’re asking for fairness in the Senate? You violated every norm of what we do.” Graham concluded by reminding Wallace that he had been the one who wanted former special counsel Robert Mueller to be allowed to do his job and had trusted him to do so in a fair manner. He added that the sooner the impeachment trial was over, the better it would be for the country. “This has been a political hit job. This is political revenge. Guilfoyle, the campaign confirmed to Breitbart News ahead of a public release of the move, will lead a nationwide volunteer and grassroots fundraising program targeted at recruiting and activating bundlers across the country to help the president’s reelection push.“The stakes have never been higher in a presidential election, which is why it’s my honor to serve as national chair for the Trump Victory Finance Committee,” Guilfoyle said. “The president’s record of success is drawing unprecedented support from across the country, and these crucial financial resources will ensure he’s in a strong position to win in November.” Trump’s campaign manager, Brad Parscale, also said that given Guilfoyle’s effectiveness in promoting the president, the expanded role she will now have as the Trump Victory Finance Committee national chair will help the president raise even more money and resources. “Kimberly has been a powerful and effective leader and surrogate for President Trump, and her expanded role will only make the reelection campaign stronger,” Parscale said. “The president’s record of achievement is attracting unprecedented support, and Kimberly will lead the effort to convert that into the resources we’ll need to win.” Trump Victory and Republican National Committee Finance Chair Todd Ricketts similarly praised the move. “I am thrilled to have Kimberly officially join the Trump Victory finance team,” Ricketts said. “As a tireless advocate for President Trump, Kimberly will be a huge addition to the team to ensure we raise the resources needed to reelect him in November.” Guilfoyle, a top conservative media personality who previously worked at Fox News, left the network to join the president’s super PAC a while back. She later joined the Trump campaign, where she—alongside Donald Trump Jr.—has been a fixture on the campaign trail helping the president. Religious Liberty Finds an Ally in Trump
Nate Jackson: Thursday was National Religious Freedom Day, which, as Gary Bauer notes, “commemorates the day in 1786 when the Virginia General Assembly adopted the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, written by Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson’s statute became the foundation for the First Amendment to the Constitution, which guarantees religious freedom, among other key liberties.”
To mark the occasion, President Donald Trump hosted in the Oval Office students, teachers, and others whose expressions of faith have been silenced in public schools, as well as those who’ve fought in the court system to protect those rights. He declared that he’s fighting back against the “growing totalitarian impulse on the far left that seeks to punish, restrict, and even prohibit religious expression.” Indeed, he ordered nine federal agencies to roll back regulations that restrict religious liberty — most of them issued during the tenure of the most faith-intolerant regime in the history of our Republic.
Schools won’t be forced to sponsor religious activities. The guidance states, “For example, teachers and other public school officials, acting in their official capacities, may not lead their classes in prayer, devotional readings from the Bible, or other religious activities.” Yet, the order also states, “Students and teachers do not shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.”
Moreover, each year, states must provide a list of districts or local schools that have “a policy that prevents, or otherwise denies participation in, constitutionally protected prayer.” And Fox News notes, “States are also required to report local schools that do not certify to the state that they don’t have unconstitutional prayer policies.”
While anti-religious zealots complained that Trump’s budding theocracy “undermines” civil rights and will have “dire consequences” for homosexuals and religious minorities, the truth is that he’s doing what he was elected to do — protect the religious liberty enshrined in the First Amendment.
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins praised the administration’s new rules, saying, “For years, we’ve watched secularists pressure school administrators into telling students that they can’t pray, read their Bibles, or talk about their faith in class. Now, the tables are turned. For once, the onus isn’t on kids or districts to defend their freedoms — it’s on states to certify that they’re compliant and respectful of these basic rights.
