Further Reflections: DemoMSM Rhetoric and the
 Attempted Murder of Republicans

By Mark Alexander:  House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and four others were shot Wednesday morning, while they practiced for the annual congressional Republican vs. Democrat baseball game scheduled for later this week — an event that raises a half million dollars for charity. The assault occurred in a "gun-free zone" in Alexandria, Virginia. The wounded are recovering, though Rep. Scalise remains in critical condition.
According to Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC), he spoke with the man later identified as the assailant, just prior to the attack: "A guy approaches me when I'm right there at [my] car and says, 'Excuse me, sir, who's practicing today, Democrats or Republicans?' I said, 'This is a Republican team,' and he said 'K, thanks.'" In the assessment of Rep. Mike Walker (R-NC), the assailant was "there to kill as many Republican members as possible." My friend and district Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, who was also on the field, concurred.
After almost six minutes, two Capitol Police officers, security detail for Rep. Scalise, were able to get into position and fatally shoot the assailant. Both officers were among the wounded. Had Rep. Scalise not been there, the security detail would not have been there, and this assault would have ended with many fatalities. Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), an Army Reserve combat physician who served in Iraq, provided immediate assistance to Rep. Scalise in the aftermath of the assault. "I'm glad I was there," said Wenstrup, "but it's a sad day in America, that's for
sure."
The assailant has been identified as James Hodgkinson of Illinois. Hodgkinson
was an unhinged leftist — like a growing number of that ilk. His social media cover page features a photo of Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Hodgkinson was a campaign worker for Sanders and one of Barack liar-nObama's "99%"ers. His profile touts the "virtues" of Democratic Socialism.
Sanders issued this statement: "[Hodgkinson] volunteered on my presidential campaign. I am sickened by this despicable act. Let me be as clear as I can be. Violence of any kind is unacceptable in our society and I condemn this action in the strongest possible terms."
That's the appropriate response, but consider Sanders' words in a fundraising email immediately after Rep. Gabby Giffords was shot in Tucson in 2011 (12 others were also shot and six killed): "This horrendous act of violence is not some kind of strange aberration for this area where, it appears, threats and acts of violence are part of the political climate. Nobody can honestly express surprise that such a tragedy finally occurred. ... Congresswoman Giffords publicly expressed concerns when Sarah Palin, on her website, placed her district in the cross-hairs of a rifle — and identified her by name below the image — as an encouragement to Palin supporters to eliminate her from Congress."
As a reminder, Jared Loughner, the schizophrenic murderer in that incident, was actually a left-winger, though uninvolved in and not motivated by politics. Yet the fake news New York Times editorialized just yesterday that "the link to political incitement was clear" in the Giffords shooting. "Though there's no sign of incitement as direct as in the Giffords attack," the Times continued, "liberals should of course hold themselves to the same standard of decency that they ask of the right." How magnanimous.
Earlier this year, the assailant posted this social media message: "Trump is a Traitor. Trump Has Destroyed Our Democracy. It's Time to Destroy Trump & Co." The DemoMSM will dance around it, but Hodgkinson's motive was clear, and their incessant inflammatory rhetoric has already led to violence against Trump supporters nationwide. Call it "collusion" between the Leftmedia and the assailant, but Hodgkinson pulled the trigger, not Nancy Pulosi, Chuck clown-Schumer, Bernie Sanders or CNN. This was not "gun violence." It was inspired political violence.
Soon after the first media reports of the assault, Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY), received an email threat parroting the same socialist rhetoric that inspired Hodgkinson: "One down, 216 [Republicans] to go. Did you NOT expect this? When you take away ordinary peoples [sic] very lives in order to pay off the wealthiest among us, your own lives are forfeit. Certainly, your souls and morality were lost long before. Good riddance."
Typical of some of the East Coast media echo-chamber nonsense in the aftermath was this assertion from National Review's otherwise erudite blogger, Jim Geraghty: "Impassioned Political Speech Doesn't Turn Anyone Into a Killer." To that assumption I would respond that Geraghty and likeminded commentators who insist that words don't inspire violence don't know much about psychological indoctrination. I would refer them to Islamic radicalization via words and videos on the Internet, which have been directly linked to jihadi attacks in the U.S. and around the world.
Of course, most "impassioned political speech" in the U.S. does not advocate murder. Most. But the increasing instance of political violence in the U.S., particularly on college campuses that were once bastions of free speech, is commensurate with the increasing tenor of hateful political rhetoric. I'm not advocating for a "commissar of commentary" to censor political speech — though many leftists are mastering such behavior — for any commentator to suggest people are not influenced by words leads me to question why such commentators continue writing.
Finally and predictably, the Demo-gogues and their DemoMSM propagandists will attempt to blame-shift the inspiration for this attack from their rhetoric to the need for more "gun control," a key part of their perennial efforts to undermine the Second Amendment assurance of Liberty.
Indeed, within an hour of the assault, Demo Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe declared, "There are too many guns on the street." Notably, McAuliffe repeatedly declared that 93 million people are murdered with guns every day. I'm not sure what data he's been reading...
Our last question for leftists is this: Is it time to shut down that presidential assassination play~The Patriot Post

{rickwells.us} ~ As it becomes more and more clear to America that James Comey is a dirty cop and a political tool that abused his office and authority... it’s interesting to look back at some of his House testimony after he announced liar-Clinton was being let off the hook. Rep John Mica (R-FL) questioned then-FBI Director James Comey on July 7th, 2016, just two days after he bestowed a pass around the federal prison system to liar-Hillary Clinton. Mica smells a rat and it’s the one sitting in front of him at the witness table. Clearly Comey, in a situation as major as this one, conducted himself in a totally inappropriate manner. His feigned outrage at the end can only be described as bizarre and suspect. Mica established that the fix was in for liar-Clinton and was suspicious that Lynch had played a significant role in it. He asked Comey if he personally interviewed liar-Clinton, which he did not... http://rickwells.us/comey-obstructed-mica-demanded-collusion-emails-lynch-fbi-last-year/

{investigativeproject.org} ~ A Muslim Russian national from Kyrgyzstan detonated an explosive device in St. Petersburg's subway system in April, killing 14 people and injuring many others... The attack signaled a growing Islamist threat facing Russia, following several high profile terrorist attacks in recent years. More people have been killed in Russia from terrorism than any other European state since 1970. Yet Russia maintains a glaring double standard when it comes to terrorist violence and now sponsors some of the deadliest terrorist groups in history. For the Russian government, terrorists aren't "terrorists" if they avoid targeting Russian citizens or interests. In this light, Russian officials consistently avoid classifying groups like Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist organizations. The latest example came directly from Russia's ambassador to Israel, Alexander Shein, in an interview last Friday with Israel's Russian-language Channel 9 and translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI)... https://www.investigativeproject.org/6308/russia-terrorist-double-game

{rickwells.us} ~ Judge Jeanine believes the biggest danger to our country is one that is not even being talked about. She’s going to talk about it, though... That threat is “a subtle plot by the GOP to help bring down the President of the United States and bring the establishment back into power. The belief, if done quickly enough, they’ll still be in power and there’ll be sufficient time to recover, to promote their favorite son as candidate for president in 2020.” She adds that “the Democrats, whether you like them or not, are doing their job. They’re fighting, resisting and they’re all on one page.” She asks who, other than Newt Gingrich, among the Republicans, particularly the GOP establishment, is outraged about what is going on with their president. She notes that the Democrats are in unison as the Republicans simply watch them railroad their president. She comes to the same conclusion she did over a year ago during the campaign, that the Republican leadership is in bed with the Democrats. It goes beyond that, Judge, they’re different factions of the same party, the globalists... http://rickwells.us/judge-jeanine-gop-defend-president-trump-part-plot/

The myth of so-called “moderate rebels” was long ago discredited. Yet claiming they exist persists. {
jewishworldreview.com} ~ U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was forced to make a public U-turn Wednesday on his comments a day earlier that the Palestinian Authority had agreed to stop paying the families of those convicted of attacks against Israelis. He then appeared to make another reversal half an hour later, leaving observers confused.

The Palestinian Authority (PA), which governs in the West Bank, has been paying millions to thousands of Palestinian families for years, including the relatives of suicide bombers, through a scheme called the “Martyr’s Fund.” Israeli academics estimate that the fund pays out around $300 million a year in social security payments to relatives of attackers, seven percent of the Palestinian Authority's annual budget.

Addressing Senators on Tuesday, Tillerson said that the issue of payments — cited by Israelis as one of the obstacles to a future peace agreement — had been solved.

“The Palestinians have changed that policy and their intent is to cease the payments to the families of those who have committed murder or violence against others,” Tillerson said. “We have been very clear with them that this practice is simply not acceptable to us.”

Both Israeli and Palestinian officials denied that any agreement had been made on Tuesday. Tillerson later backtracked, telling the House Foreign Affairs Committee that Washington and Ramallah remained locked in an “active discussion” on the issue.

In response to a question from Republican congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Tillerson said the policy change was part of wider discussions with the Palestinians concerning what Israelis refer to as ‘incitement.’

Half an hour later, according to Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Tillerson changed tack again, stating that the PA had agreed to end the payments, despite denials from West Bank officials.

The secretary of state said that assurances from the Palestinian leadership, led by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, “were given to me during the president’s visit to Bethlehem.” He said Trump told Abbas he had a “certain window of patience” and “he will become disinterested” if they do not act.

Issa Karaka, head of the PA’s prisoner affairs, said Tuesday that Tillerson was wrong: The PA would not end payments to prisoners’ and suicide bombers’ families, he said, because the policy would be vehemently unpopular with the Palestinian public , many of whom are already opposed to Abbas’ rule.

“Almost every other Palestinian household is the family of a prisoner or martyr,” Karaka said. “Anybody who thinks he can execute a decision like that is badly wrong,” he added.

Trump and Abbas’ meeting in Bethlehem was a tetchy affair, according to U.S. accounts, but a Palestinian source told Newsweek that reports of a fractious meeting were lies designed to slander the Palestinian leader. “Trump raised the issue of prisoner payments, but overall the meeting went very well,” the source said.
