{ dailycaller.com } ~ Republican Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso said Saturday that House impeachment manager scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff turned pale when President Donald Trump’s defense team played video of his Ukraine call “parody.”... Barrasso joined several of his Senate colleagues in speaking to reporters after Trump’s defense team wrapped up their opening arguments — which included a video of scumbag/liar-Schiff, in a House Intelligence Committee hearing, fabricating his own version of the July 25th phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. scumbag/liar-Schiff had later dismissed the fabrication as “a parody.” “Today the presentation was strong and that was clear,” Barrasso began. “And completely undermined the case of the Democrats and truly undermined the credibility of scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff. The most effective thing that happened was when they first read — the president’s counsel first read the transcript of the phone call with the president of the United States and the president of Ukraine and then played the video of scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff with his fictionalized made-up script.” Barrasso went on to explain that he had watched scumbag/liar-Schiff’s reaction — which was not visible to the press — when that video was introduced. “From where I was sitting, I know the press couldn’t see his face, but the blood drained from scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff’s face as they played that video and his made up words.” Barrasso concluded by applying scumbag/liar-Schiff’s use of parody and mischaracterization to the entirety of the case presented by the House’s impeachment managers. “The House case has been one that’s been selective use of information, misuse of information, and what we saw today in just two short hours is what the House left out in 21 hours — all in the effort to undermine and impeach and remove this president and undermine the election in 2020,” he said.   https://dailycaller.com/2020/01/25/john-barrasso-adam-schiff-parody-backfired/?utm_source=&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=11754

{ westernjournal.com } ~ For House Democrats, the impeachment of President Donald Trump turned into something of a political hot potato... The highly partisan process was marked by a feigned air of dignity, the sacrifice of centuries of tradition with obscene rule changes, and how it drove the nation to the breaking point. The longer the charade went on, the more America seemed to turn against it. After Democrats finally made their heroic vote to impeach Trump, House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi held onto the resulting articles, inviting further criticism of the partisan attempt to oust the president. Eventually, the articles were sent to the Senate. With the articles of impeachment transferred there, the pressure was off the House. At least it was until Rep. scumbag/mad-Maxine Waters of California entered the conversation. scumbag/mad-Waters told MSNBC that the House will not stop pursuing further impeachment of Trump. “The subpoenas that I have issued that’s gone through the lower courts are now going to be heard at the Supreme Court in March,” scumbag/mad-Waters said Sunday. “We will not stop,” she said. “Whether or not that leads to another impeachment activity, I don’t know. But I know we must continue with the work that our constituents have elected us to come to Congress to do.” The impeachment of Trump has been unpopular in the United States. This month, a Gallup poll found that 51 percent of Americans wanted the Senate to clear the president, leaving him in charge of the country for at least another year, compared with 46 percent who wanted him removed from office. These are not good numbers for Democrats, a group that pushed a supposedly nonpartisan impeachment without the support of any lawmakers in the opposing party. The move to impeach Trump was so controversial that even some Democrats refused to go along with their party’s attempt to oust the president...

Trump Impeachment Trial: Senators
Stunned at Half-Empty Spectator Gallery

{ breitbart.com } ~ The Senate spectator gallery has remained half-empty during President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, and some senators are stunned that more people are not taking note of the historic moments that are taking place in the chamber... “I’m really surprised at that because this is kind of historic and I would think this would be an opportunity for people to get in there regardless of whose side you are on,” Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) told the New York Post Friday.Reporters are prohibited from bringing cellphones or cameras into the gallery, so the noticeably small audience in the chamber is known to only a few people that are able to witness it in person. The spectator gallery offers a view of the Senate in a compact chamber as senators debate whether Trump should be removed from office. It is almost assured that Trump has the votes to be acquitted of all charges because there would need to be two-thirds of votes or 20 Republicans who defected for Trump to be convicted of the two charges against him. Some Republicans blamed the Democrats’ lackluster opening arguments for the low attendance. “You know, 28 hours of hearing the same thing over and over again isn’t all that exciting,” said Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who told the Post he had passed the time doing crossword puzzles. Some Democrats said the low attendance had nothing to do with disinterest but had more to do with being less convenient than watching it on television. “Because it’s on television, it’s a convenient alternative to coming in,” said Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI). Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) added that Senate staffers have avoided showing up to the proceedings because of a ban on note-taking outside the press section. “They can do more work in the office where they have an ability to take notes,” he said. The House of Representatives voted in December to charge Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, two charges which lawyer Alan Dershowitz has argued are “noncriminal actions.”

Murder Plot Discovered During Impeachment – Washington On Edge

{ explainlife.com } ~ The impeachment of President Donald Trump has sharply divided the nation but when murder gets involved it has gotten out of hand... California Rep. scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff, the House Intelligence Committee Chair and one of the House impeachment managers, said that he has been getting death threats since the trial began. And, he said, President Trump is the one to blame for it because he “threatened him,” and some of his Democrat colleagues agreed. “Shifty scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff is a CORRUPT POLITICIAN, and probably a very sick man. He has not paid the price, yet, for what he has done to our Country!” President Trump said on Twitter. To any normal, rational human being the president is talking about scumbag/liar-Schiff and his Democrat colleagues being voted out of their positions. But to scumbag/liar-Schiff and the Democrats, to whom everything is a code red scandal, this was a death threat that has now led to murder plots against scumbag/liar-Schiff. “scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff has been getting death threats, sources tell me,” CNN anchor Jake Tapper, who has been pushing the Democrat agenda, said to Oklahoma Sen. James Lankford on Sunday. “Do you condemn what the president tweeted?” “I don’t think the president is trying to do a death threat here,” Lankford opined. “Or do some sort of intimidation.” But Tapper knows his audience, and knows he wants to be an ally to the Democrats, so he persisted and again said “‘He has not paid the price yet?’” as if that is some indication of a death threat. “It’s no different than what scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff and what Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi were saying,” Lankford said. “That folks will be paying a price at the ballot box.” “I just don’t think it’s a death threat,” Lankford continued. “I don’t think he’s encouraging a death threat.” “But people who are supporters of the president have heard his rhetoric and then actually tried to bomb and kill politicians and the media,” Tapper insisted. “That’s happened.” Actually Jake, it was a supporter of Democrat presidential candidate and Vermont Sen. commie-Bernie Sanders who shot and attempted to murder Rep. Steve Scalise and other Republicans on a baseball field. Tapper said he did not get why Lankford was furious about scumbag/liar-Schiff’s comments that President Trump would have Republicans “heads on a pike” if they voted against them, but not for the president’s tweet...

First-Ever Hezbollah-Controlled Government
Takes Over in Lebanon

{ jpost.com } ~ For the first time since the departure of Syrian troops from Lebanon in 2005, the latter country has a government in which only Hezbollah and its allies are represented... This is likely to have a significant negative effect on Beirut’s efforts to engage international partners and donors in order to alleviate the acute financial crisis facing the country. It will also impact on Israeli strategic planning vis-à-vis Hezbollah. The new government is the product of escalating popular protests under way since October 15. The protests are in response to  Lebanon’s dire economic state. Demonstrators were demanding the formation of a government of “technocrats” qualified to address the urgent issues facing the country and untainted by contact with Lebanon’s enormously corrupt political parties.  The new government appears to be an attempt to create the superficial appearance of such an administration. Its 20 ministers were presented by Prime Minister Hassan Diab as “specialists,” nonpartisan and without loyalties to this or that political bloc. Few Lebanese are likely to be convinced by this claim. The “specialists” in question are individuals whose names were put forward by the political parties. The composition of the new government emerged in a process of wrangling and horse trading between these parties.  But, crucially, parties and movements broadly associated with the West and with Saudi Arabia stayed out of the negotiations. Individuals linked to prominent pro-Western and anti-Iranian political trends, such as the former prime minister’s Mustaqbal Future Movement and the Christian Lebanese Forces, are not to be found among the new ministers. The Progressive Socialist Party of Lebanese Druze leader Walid Jumblatt is also not represented. The government that has emerged from this process comprises individuals linked to movements that are part of only one of the existing power structures – the one associated with Hezbollah and Iran. The new administration is being described by Lebanese commentators as a government of “one color,” Lebanon’s first of this kind. The color is that of Hezbollah and Iran’s banners...

I love definitions because they help focus the mind. For decades, we are said to have been in a culture war. As in any war, it helps to know one’s enemy.

One online dictionary defines culture this way: “the quality in a person or society that arises from a concern for what is regarded as excellent in arts, letters, manners, scholarly pursuits, etc.”

One secondary definition is under the subheading anthropology: “the sum total of ways of living built up by a group of human beings and transmitted from one generation to another.” I especially like that second definition.

So culture is a sum total. It is also about ways of living by more than a few humans, with all of that being willed to succeeding generations.

Those of a certain age remember what their parents or grandparents transmitted to them following the Great Depression and World War II. It was the sum total of values and beliefs they shared, the values held by those Tom Brokaw correctly labeled the greatest generation.

Yes, they were imperfect, just as we are, sinners incapable of saving themselves apart from God’s mercy and grace. But they saved a nation — several nations — because they embodied the things that mattered most in life: duty, honor, and country. They not only wanted to restore such things to Europe and preserve them for America but also sought to pass these down to their children and grandchildren. They had learned them from their parents. It is why they went to war, and although thousands did not come back, their values remained, at least until the self-indulgent 1960s and the generation that followed (as critiqued in my 1994 book, The Things That Matter Most).

Today that clash of their culture with ours is stark. My grandmother once admonished me for using words she said nice young men don’t say in public. The words that offended her were toilet paper. Imagine what this woman, born in 1888, would think of the words heard on TV, in movies, and on the streets today.

Return to the definition given earlier and particularly notice the words built up. This suggests to me that the way to change a culture is not from the top down but from the bottom up, not through Washington but through the human heart and individual choices.

It might be too late for that, but it is not too late to make choices for ourselves and for our families, especially where we send our young children to school. It amazes me that so many parents — conservative and Christian parents — see no problem in sending their children to state schools, where they learn they evolved from slime and the reason they like bananas on their cereal is that their nearest relative is at the zoo.

Okay, I exaggerate, but not by much. If your child is a soldier, would you be okay if he or she were trained in a country that was the enemy of the United States? Doesn’t the question answer itself? Why, then, would you knowingly and willingly send your child to a school — and then a university — that undermines the values, beliefs, and faith you have tried to teach them?

Don’t answer that you want them to be ambassadors for God. I have met many ambassadors, and none are eight-year-olds. Children, like soldiers, must be trained and indoctrinated with the knowledge and principles of the nation (or kingdom) they are expected to serve. Look up two words in a concordance. They are teach and learn. The verses in Scripture that include these words instruct godly parents in what God expects when it comes to children on loan to us for a brief time.

Legions of young men and women taught such things will build up a culture and ultimately a nation. It is the only way to win a culture war.  ~The Patriot Post
