Past time to end Democratic witch hunt

Trump's Statements Add Fuel to Controversy
The fallout over Donald Trump's firing of FBI Director James Comey is beginning to resemble a daytime soap opera. Democrats have strategically boxed Trump in so no matter what he does, it's further "evidence" supporting their collusion-with-Russia narrative. With the mainstream media presuming the validity of that conspiracy theory, any action or non-action by Trump suddenly becomes evidence of covering up a "crime." What crime exactly? Well, it would seem the best answer is the fact that Trump won the election. Evidently, that's criminal enough for the Leftmedia and Democrats to demand investigations into unsubstantiated allegations.
The trouble is, Trump isn't helping himself. Thursday evening, in an interview with NBC News, Trump flat out contradicted his White House staff's and Vice President Mike Pence's explanation of the reasoning behind the decision to dismiss Comey.
According to statements from the White House immediately following the firing, the reason the FBI director had been let go was primarily due to recommendations from the Justice Department, particularly based on Comey's handling of the liar-Clinton email probe. Pence corroborated that account, stating earlier Thursday: "Let me be very clear that the President's decision to accept the recommendation of the deputy attorney general and the attorney general to remove Director Comey as the head of the FBI was based solely and exclusively on his commitment to the best interests of the American people and to ensuring that the FBI has the trust and confidence of the people of this nation."
Then came Trump's Thursday evening interview. In typical Trump style, he ineloquently expressed a totally different story behind his decision to remove Comey. He stated, "I was going to fire Comey. Oh, I was going to fire regardless of recommendation." The obvious question then arises: Why now? What transpired to bring him to make the decision?
Here's where Trump's explanation just really doesn't add up. He says, "In fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said, 'You know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story, it's an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should have won.'" He's entirely accurate in his assessment of the Democrat narrative being utter nonsense, but that still doesn't explain his motivation for canning Comey or the timing of it. Nor does it explain why he's playing right into Democrat hands by saying the Russia angle prompted him to do it.
Another comment by Trump may come closest to answering the question. In evaluating Comey, Trump said, "Look, he's a showboat. He's a grandstander. The FBI has been in turmoil. You know that. I know that. Everybody knows that. You take a look at the FBI a year ago — it was in virtual turmoil. Less than a year ago. It hasn't recovered from that." Maybe Trump witnessed Comey's testimony last week, in which he explained his decisions for not recommending prosecution of liar-Hillary Clinton. Perhaps that rubbed Trump the wrong way and he decided it was time.
Unfortunately, the lack of a cohesive and consistent statement from Trump and his staff has served to add fuel to a controversy he wanted to dispel. If it seemed bad after Comey’s firing, it will only get worse with the Trump White House failing to keep its story straight.  ~The Patriot Post
North Korea Still Provoking The West –
Launches Another Missile Test
by Rick Wells
{rickwells.us} ~ There has been another missile launch from North Korea, this latest one occurring in the early morning hours Sunday, local time... The distance traveled before crashing into the sea was reportedly approximately 430 miles. This launch comes roughly two weeks after what is believed to have been a failed ballistic missile launch. CNN reporter Alexandra Field notes that South Korea, Japan and the United States are all engaged in trying to determine the type of missile and other things about the North Korean missile program that might be learned from the trail of evidence. She points out that there have already been  nine ballistic missile test launches over the course of this year alone... http://rickwells.us/north-korea-still-poking-the-west-launches-anot...

Germany Confiscating Homes to Use for Migrants

Hamburg, Germany
by Soeren Kern
{gatestoneinstitute.org} ~ Authorities in Hamburg, the second-largest city in Germany, have begun confiscating private dwellings to ease a housing shortage — one that has been acutely exacerbated by Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision... to allow more than two million migrants into the country in recent years. City officials have been seizing commercial properties and converting them into migrant shelters since late 2015, when Merkel opened German borders to hundreds of thousands of migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Now, however, the city is expropriating residential property units owned by private citizens. In an unprecedented move, Hamburg authorities recently confiscated six residential units in the Hamm district near the city center... https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10352/germany-migrants-property-...

CIA Opens New North Korean Mission Center
in Secret Location

{fixthisnation.com} ~ CIA Director Mike Pompeo announced Wednesday that the U.S. intelligence agency had opened a new mission center whose sole purpose would be to keep constant tabs on North Korea... “Creating the Korea Mission Center allows us to more purposefully integrate and direct CIA efforts against the serious threats to the United States and its allies emanating from North Korea,” said Pompeo in a statement. “It also reflects the dynamism and agility that CIA brings to evolving national security challenges.” The statement went on to say that the new mission center – the 11th such outpost the CIA has constructed around the world – was developed to meet the “nuclear and ballistic threat posed by” the Kim Jong Un regime, allowing the U.S. to “harness the full resources, capabilities, and authorities of the Agency.”...

Eight Lies the MSM Told About Comey Firing
by Onan Coca
{lidblog.com} ~ John Nolte who was one of my former editors at Breitbart and as Onan points out he should be profusely thanked for his constant efforts at unmasking the real progenitors of “fake news” in the mainstream media... This week he has laid bare their lies by focusing his time on one story in particular – the sad saga of former FBI Director James Comey. Over the last week or so the media has breathlessly reported on every little whisper that has escaped from Washington, D.C. and for the most part – much of what they’ve told us has been wrong. Sadly, this is a common refrain from today’s media who can’t seem to get out of their own way and constantly seem to be tripping over their own failures and falsehoods. It’s almost as if the media has an agenda that they are trying to promote and they are willing to sacrifice their reputation if it means pushing that agenda forward...http://lidblog.com/msm-lies-comey-firing/

Hold FBI director vote hostage?
Chuck clown-Schumer says count me in
by Daniel Chaitin
{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ Sen. Minority Leader Chuck clown-Schumer, D-N.Y., says he supports an effort to stonewall the Trump administration's not-yet-announced FBI director nominee... by refusing a confirmation vote until a special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate potential ties between the Trump campaign and Russia. Sen. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the intelligence committee, has led the charge. When asked about it on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday, clown-Schumer said there are "a lot of Democrats" who support Warner's effort. clown-Schumer said "I would support that move" but Democrats will have to discuss it as a group... http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/hold-fbi-director-vote-hostage-ch...

Past time to end Democratic witch hunt

by David Limbaugh
{wnd.com} ~ I don’t deny that President Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey was handled poorly, but it pales in comparison with the Democrats’ ongoing partisan witch hunt against President Trump concerning Russia. That should be the story.

Shortly after Trump’s dismissal of Comey, Trump defenders had plenty of ammunition. Widely respected and nonpartisan Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had reportedly recommended that Trump fire Comey.

But then the communications from Team Trump on the matter seemed to muddy the waters. Though maintaining that Rosenstein’s recommendation was pivotal, Trump spokespeople added other reasons. They claimed that Trump had fired Comey based on his handling of the liar-Hillary Clinton email investigation and because numerous FBI agents and employees were dispirited by Comey’s actions.

Then acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe testified, “The vast majority of FBI employees enjoyed a deep, positive connection to Director Comey.” A number of retired FBI officials also apparently showed solidarity with Comey by using his face for their Facebook profile photos. And though Rosenstein has contradicted mainstream media reports that he was contemplating resigning over the narrative that he had recommended Comey’s dismissal, he reportedly claims that he did not expressly recommend the firing. Oh, boy.

Trump added more to the mix when he told Lester Holt in an interview that he had decided to fire Comey irrespective of the reported Rosenstein recommendation. Media outlets are having a field day with this alleged contradiction. Trump has thrown his communications team under the bus, they say, because his spokespeople clearly said that Trump’s firing was a response to the recommendation. Trump’s tweets concerning possible recorded conversations between him and Comey didn’t help, either.

What a mess.

Though it doesn’t look good that Trump’s version arguably varies from that of his spokespeople, I don’t see any major inconsistency here. I suspect that Trump was increasingly frustrated with Comey and wanted to fire him and that the recommendation helped justify it. Either way, Trump had the constitutional authority to fire Comey, and it would be scandalous only if he did so to impede a legitimate investigation into his alleged collusion with Russia, which is not the case.

Trump is obviously exasperated that the Democrats are impeding his policy agenda with their obsessive hammering of the bogus charge that he and his team conspired with Russia to interfere with the presidential election.

Despite the incessant media reports and congressional investigations, not a shred of evidence has emerged to substantiate the charge of collusion. We keep saying this, but the media and Democrats keep pretending otherwise. It’s unconscionable. Even James Clapper, former President Barack liar-nObama’s director of national intelligence, has admitted that there is no evidence of collusion and that he has no reason to suspect it.

The real scandal is not Trump’s firing Comey – even if Trump’s supporters are unhappy with the timing and the way it was handled and communicated. The scandal is the liberal establishment’s coordinated conspiracy to falsely allege that Trump stole the presidency by colluding with Russia. Liberals absolutely know that it’s not true, but they will not quit bearing false witness. How dare they posture indignantly about Trump’s supposed dishonesty?

The Democrats know they are fabricating this whole thing, but they figure this is the best way they can thwart Trump’s efforts to move the country forward and out of the multiple quagmires liar-nObama landed this country in. Their constant laments about the democratic process are laughably belied by their refusal to accept the results of the presidential election.

It is the Democrats’ prerogative to act as the opposition party and to try to impede Trump’s agenda. But it is reprehensible that they are doing so through fraudulent means and further dividing the country with their lies about Team Trump and Russia.

Their counterfeit hysteria knows no bounds. Not long ago, Democrats were demanding Comey’s head, alleging that his public announcements had sabotaged liar-Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Now they are claiming the firing is a “constitutional crisis” and a “coup.” Not only did Trump have the authority to fire Comey, but also the termination does not end the investigation.

Author Jon Meacham claimed on “Morning Joe” that Trump had removed someone “in charge of an investigation that could lead to treason.” Sen. Richard Blumenthal said the firing may well lead to impeachment hearings. Senate Minority Leader Chuck clown-Schumer called on the Justice Department to appoint a special prosecutor to oversee the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign.

liar-Hillary Clinton’s 2016 running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine, said: “We have a deeply insecure president who understands that the noose is tightening because of this Russia investigation. And that’s why I believe he has let Jim Comey go.”

Kaine knows better. There is no evidence that there is any noose, much less that it’s tightening, and the media’s claim that Trump fired Comey because he was seeking more funds to investigate him has been expressly denied by Acting Director McCabe. CNN’s Van Jones said that the only people who are happy about the firing “are sitting in the Kremlin.” MSNBC’s Chris Matthews claimed that the firing was “a little whiff of fascism.” Countless liberal media and political figures are comparing the Comey firing to the Saturday Night Massacre, in which Richard Nixon fired Watergate special prosecutor Archibald Cox.

The way this firing transpired is unfortunate, but we wouldn’t be talking about this if Democrats and the media weren’t lying every hour of every day about a nonexistent scandal. This bogus investigation should end forthwith, no matter who is heading it, because it is based on nothing but innuendo and partisanship. You conduct an investigation not because you want something to be true but because you have some evidence suggesting it may be. There is no such evidence here, and they’ve admitted it. Let’s move on.
