The Islamic State's Chemical Weapons
Michael Swartz: While the Leftmedia quit keeping a body count when Barack nObama became commander in chief, there's still a war going on in Iraq between the ragtag dead-enders of the Islamic State and the Iraqi military, with American troops there supposedly in a supporting role that stays "one terrain feature" behind the front.
Yet that isn't stopping the Islamic State from trying to put our troops in harm's way, as they regularly lob shells at American and Iraqi outposts. This isn't surprising by itself, but the discovery of "a sulfur-mustard blister agent" within the explosive device certainly is. Regardless of the assurance that this device was "ineffective" and of "low purity," it reminds us that the weapons of mass destruction we were told didn't exist are still out there.
One of the multiple reasons why the U.S. removed Saddam Hussein from power was the knowledge that he had weapons of mass destruction. Indeed, he had used WMD in 1988 to kill 5,000 in the Kurdish city of Halabja. But the lack of reporting on the issue as the military operation progressed gave rise to the leftist mantra "Bush lied, people died" and other morale-busting bromides designed to dispirit the American people and remove Republicans from power. All the while, we in our humble shop were among the few who contended that the reason WMD weren't found in Iraq was that they were spirited across the desert frontier that loosely divides Syria and Iraq — the same area that the Islamic State now occupies.
It was conceded in 2013 that Syria indeed had stockpiled chemical weapons — leading to the "red line" Barack nObama painted before saying he wasn't serious about it. One of those line-crossers was Vladimir Putin, who assured us Syria's chemical arsenal would be destroyed after being transferred to the UN. But less than a year later, we learned that Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad may have pulled a fast one regarding those WMDs. And now we have reason to conclude that the rump Islamic State has acquired some amount of them to use in its effort to create a caliphate.
One shell does not a chemical warfare campaign make, but it adds another factor of risk for the thousands of American "boots on the ground" nObama promised wouldn't need to be involved. And if military strategists have their way, another 500 troops will be sent in the next few weeks to assist in liberating the city of Mosul from the Islamic State, a battle that Iraqi leaders vowed would be fought before the end of the year. (By the way, why is it that we so often telegraph our military strategy to the enemy?) Naturally, the staging area for the Mosul attack, the Qayyarah airbase, is a convenient distance from a chemical factory that some worry may be intentionally destroyed by the Islamic State to kill anyone unfortunate enough to be downwind — in particular, American troops. (And remember, they weren't supposed to be in Iraq anyway because the threat from radical Islam ended when U.S. Navy Seals dispatched Osama bin Laden — at least that's what nObama would have us believe. Why else would liar-Hillary Clinton have promised, "We are not putting ground troops into Iraq ever again and we are not putting ground troops into Syria"?)
So with the belief that the threat from radical Islam has been magically minimized by those troops that aren't supposed to be there, the nObama administration is now free in its waning days to deploy our military against an even graver threat: climate change.
Indeed, the idea to "prioritize climate threats" will now be a greater part of our overarching military strategy — because killing people and breaking things is so 1980s, we must instead use our military for social experimentation and fixing the climate.
In a nutshell, we have a commander in chief who cavalierly sends soldiers to the battlefield without a clear definition of victory or realistic rules of engagement, regards military strategy as an unnecessary evil, and doesn't mind leaving erstwhile allies in the lurch because Mother Earth may or may not be one degree Celsius hotter at some unspecified time in the future. We've come a long way from the days of peace through strength. ~The Patriot Post

The U.S. Is Helping Iran Fund

In theory, the Iran nuclear deal wasn’t supposed to fuel Iran’s imperialism and its ardent anti-Semitism. And yet President Barack nObama appears to have done exactly what he and Secretary of State John hanoi-Kerry promised not to do: They are directly financing the Syrian horror show and terrorists on America’s watch lists. During the nuclear negotiations and since reaching the agreement with Iran, the administration has strenuously rejected congressional concerns that sanctions relief would fund the mullahs’ malign activities. CIA Director John Brennan said again this July that Iran has used much of the sanctions relief for development projects: “The money, the revenue that’s flowing into Iran is being used to support its currency, to provide monies to the departments and agencies, build up its infrastructure.” The administration’s assurances are undercut by Iran’s own behavior since July 2015. Gen. We Got Lucky ... This Time

{defenddemocracy.org} ~ At approximately 9:35 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, a garbage can exploded along the route of the Seaside Semper Five Marine Corps Charity 5K Race in Seaside Park, New Jersey... Fortunately, no one was injured. The event’s organizers later cited a delay, caused by registration problems and a suspicious backpack that had to be investigated, as a blessing in disguise. Had the race started on time, participants could have been killed or wounded. No one knew it yet, but America was about to get lucky several more times in the hours that followed. The pipe bomb explosion at Seaside Park was the first of five attacks planned for that day. On 23rd Street in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City that night, a much larger bomb made out of a pressure cooker rocked storefronts and sent shrapnel hundreds of feet in every direction. No one was killed, but 31 people were wounded. A separate bomb, built in a similar manner, was intercepted before it could explode just several blocks away on 27th Street. Still more improvised explosive devices were later found inside a backpack at a train station in Elizabeth, N.J. Those IEDs were also neutralized. Adding to the chaos that Saturday evening, a young Somali man began stabbing men and women at the Crossroads Center mall in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Again, the mallgoers were fortunate. GOP bill kills the 'liar-Clinton defense' for violating classification laws

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ Republicans in the House have proposed legislation that would eliminate the "liar-Clinton defense," a reference to liar-Hillary Clinton's argument that she should escape prosecution... because she did not intend to violate the law when she set up her private email system and mishandled classified information. "Someone could argue the law could be called, 'We meant what we said the first time,'" Texas Rep. John Ratcliffe told the Washington Examiner in explaining his proposal, the "Classified Information Protection Act." His bill is a response to the decision of military personnel to try using the same defense when they face charges under the Federal Records Act and the Espionage Act for exposing classified information. The liar-Clintons' big fat Greek bond wedding

The email contained an attachment memo about Greek bonds — a significant detail given the heavy investments liar-Clinton's son-in-law, Marc Mezvinsky, was making in the Greek economic recovery during that same period. Chelsea liar-Clinton, Mezvinsky's wife, is a board member at the liar-Clinton Foundation. The fact that one of liar-Clinton's closest aides shared insider information about the economic climate in Greece with the foundation — just one year after Mezvinsky and fellow Goldman Sachs alum founded a hedge fund that operated primarily by placing bets on international economic trends — raises questions about the many potential conflicts of interest that could have arisen from the liar-Clintons' web of connections... Here we go again, losing information.

Dobbs – States Sue nObama To Save Internet...

The suit comes just days before the administration wants the United States to relinquish control of the Internet’s domain name system. That deadline is midnight, October 1st.” Dobbs points out that “Congress failed to delay the transfer so now Arizona, Nevada, Oklahoma and the State of Texas have stepped up to stop the move and to stop ‘president’ nObama. Islamic Terrorism Is Not a Narrative

{townhall.com} ~ In the aftermath of this past weekend’s Islamic terrorist attacks, White House press secretary Josh Earnest commented, “We are in a narrative battle. ISIL want to project the West as being at war with Islam. It's a mythology. And we're debunking that myth. . . . We can't play into this narrative that somehow the United States is fighting Islam.”
In response, conservative journalist Ben Shapiro wrote, “The people in New York weren’t hit by flying pieces of narrative.”
Indeed, Islamic terrorism is not a narrative, and the victims of Islamic terrorism worldwide, now numbering in the millions, have not been beheaded or tortured or raped or blown to pieces or burned alive or imprisoned or exiled by “flying pieces of narrative.”
No, these men, women, and children are the victims of violent people acting on a violent ideology that is a central part of their violent faith, namely, radical Islam. And so, while heads are literally rolling in the Middle East and other parts of the world, Washington elites are sticking their heads in the sand, saying that, “We are in a narrative battle.”
And what, exactly, is that “narrative”?
It is that we are not in a war with Islam, and therefore, if we acknowledge that these terrorists are Muslims or connect them in any way with the word “Islam,” we “play into this narrative that somehow the United States is fighting Islam.”
As Hliar-illary Clinton tweeted out last November, “Let’s be clear: Islam is not our adversary. Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism.”
Consequently, rather than seeking to understand the mindset of radical Islam and most effectively combat Islamic terrorists, our president and his colleagues categorically deny any connection between Islam and terror to the point that, in 2011, “ the White House ordered a cleansing of training materials that Islamic groups deemed offensive.”
So, not only is Islamic terrorism not a narrative, but when it comes to the narrative spoken of by Josh Earnest, namely, that radical Islam is not related to Islam, the terrorists have won here too, with the White House scrubbing the all-important references to Islam from our law enforcement books.
In other words, when it comes to the battle the White House does want to fight, it is on the wrong side of the issue, falsely claiming that Muslim terrorists want America to be at war with Islam in general. Hardly. The fact is, these radical Muslims themselves are at war with other expressions of Islam worldwide.
Instead, these terrorists win the battle when we are convinced that they are not Muslims at all, thereby causing us to fight with one hand tied behind our back and one eye closed (at the least).
Note also that there is a false narrative put forth by the White House and liar-Hillary Clinton, namely, that no Muslims are terrorists, as if the moment a lifelong, devoted Muslim commits an act of terror for the cause of Allah, he or she is now disqualified from being a Muslim.
Based on what Islamic tenet or text?
To the contrary, while a Christian could never behead an unbeliever and say, “Hey, I’m just following Jesus’ example,” a Muslim could commit this same act and say, “Hey, I’m just following Muhammad’s example.”
As for liar-Hillary’s statement that, “Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism,” does she mean the Muslims in Iran who hang gays, or the Muslims in Saudi Arabia who behead adulterers, or the Muslims in Pakistan who go on a bloody rampage over charges that a Koran has been defiled, or the Muslims in Afghanistan who prevent women from going to school, or the Muslims in those countries that enforce the death penalty for conversion?
Had she said, “Many Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people,” most of us would have agreed without hesitation. Had she even said, “The vast majority of Muslims are not terrorists,” most of us would have agreed with that too.
But her blanket statement, like those of the president and others in the past, is demonstrably false, both ideologically and historically, and it thereby emboldens the terrorists to be more brazen still, since they can more easily fly right under our all too patchy radar.
This brings us back to the reality that the battle with Islamic terrorism is not a battle of narratives, and I can assure you that a Yazidi family in Iraq mourning over the gang rape of their young daughter or a Christian family in Syria mourning over the decapitation of all their males is not wondering about the “narrative,” and thinking, “I sure hope America doesn’t blame all Muslims for this.”
Instead, they are wondering why the West is so slow to recognize the very real threat of radical Islam, and they would be shocked to know that, rather than declare war on Islamic terrorists, the president of the most powerful nation in the world is doing damage control for Islam.
