Green Beret Punished for Protecting Child
In 2011, two Green Berets in a remote outpost in Afghanistan discovered that a commander in the Afghan Local Police (ALP) had kidnapped a young boy and raped him. When the rapist admitted what he did and laughed about it, Captain Dan Quinn picked up the man and slammed him into the ground. Sgt. First Class Charles Martland joined in, helping to drag the man outside the compound. The two told the rapist to never return. But the Army has policies to respect Afghan "culture," and beating a child rapist is evidently in violation of those rules.
After Army Human Resources Command recommended Martland be removed from service, Rep. Duncan Hunter sent a letter to Sen. Pat Roberts asking him to assist in keeping Martland in the Army. "I am not offended by, nor do I take any issue with, Martland's confrontation of the child rapist," Hunter wrote. "Martland was part of a small team of Green Berets, entrusted to keep America safe in ways that often go unreported or unnoticed, whose mission was being put at risk due to the illegal action of a corrupt ALP commander. The Afghan justice system continually failed to uphold individual human rights, and we would expect any of our elite warriors to protect a child from a known and admitted rapist."
If nothing else is done, then Martland's military career will end March 1. Meanwhile, the nObama administration is content to let Army bureaucracy run its course, as nObama spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters last year that Afghanistan has its legal system to handle these sorts of cases. Or not handle it. Because cultural sensitivity is more important to nObama than our soldiers.  -The Patriot Post

Civil Disobedience Only Works for Liberals?
A couple of stories this week are indicative of a society increasingly unmoored to common sense and common decency, much less Rule of Law.
In Houston, the results of that city's investigation of a Planned Parenthood clinic's trafficking in baby parts has resulted in an indictment — of the whistleblowers. Californians David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt have been charged by a Harris County grand jury for tampering with a governmental record, a second-degree felony with a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Adding insult to injury, Daleiden, the leader of the videographers from the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) that published the exposé, was also charged with the same misdemeanor he had accused Planned Parenthood of committing — namely the purchase or sale of the organs of unborn babies.
"As I stated at the outset of this investigation, we must go where the evidence leads us," said Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson, a registered Republican. "All the evidence uncovered in the course of this investigation was presented to the grand jury. I respect their decision on this difficult case."
Their decision is a travesty. The series of videos published by CMP are a compendium of outrages. In one, the organization's Chief Medical Director, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, is shown casually discussing the various abortion techniques employed to preserve as much fetal tissue as possible. In another, Dr. Mary Gatter, president of the Planned Parenthood Medical Directors' Council, is shown discussing the "less crunchy" abortion techniques needed to procure "whole specimens," and haggling over fetal tissue sales prices because she wants "a Lamborghini." In still another, Melissa Farrell, Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, promotes that branch's track record of fetal tissue sales, and its ability to "get the best specimens."
Planned Parenthood claimed the videos were "heavily edited," but that is simply a lie. Nothing was cut or juxtaposed, and the videos are available in full at the CMP website.   -The Patriot Post

FBI continues probe into Hilly server -  The Hill: “Six months after it began, the federal investigation into Hilly Clinton’s private email server shows no signs of slowing down. Former FBI officials said the length of the probe is not unusual, and speculated that a decision on whether to file charges against Clinton or her top aides could come later this year, during the heat of the general election campaign. ‘I don’t know that there’s any magical cutoff date,’ said Ron Hosko, the FBI’s former assistant director of the criminal investigative division and a 30-year veteran of the bureau. For Democrats, the extended investigation has become a source of some anxiety, with Republicans gleefully raising the prospect of their presidential front-runner being indicted.”  -Fox News

Another nObama concession to Iran: $10 million
claim dropped in prisoner deal

Nader Modanlo
.
{jihadwatch.org} ~ Nader Modanlo was accused of taking an illegal $10 million payment from Iran... “U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein said the evidence against Modanlo had been disclosed in court and proved ‘beyond any reasonable doubt that Mr. Modanlo secretly helped Iran launch a satellite for $10 million.'” The U.S. dropped the $10 million claim against him as part of the recent prisoner swap, thereby annoying Modanlo, who wanted to appeal his conviction. But Modanlo is free in any case, and the larger issue here is that it appears that the Obama Administration will stop at absolutely nothing and make any concession it can possibly make in order to appease the Iranian mullahs.

{jihadwatch.org} ~ Hours after an Israeli woman who was stabbed by Palestinian assailants in a West Bank settlement died on Tuesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel rebuked the United Nations secretary general, Ban Ki-moon... who criticized Israel’s settlement activity and said it was “human nature to react to occupation.” Addressing the Security Council in New York, Mr. Ban condemned the recent wave of Palestinian attacks against Israeli civilians, including the stabbings of two Israeli women on Monday in the settlement of Beit Horon. But he added, “Palestinian frustration is growing under the weight of a half-century of occupation and the paralysis of the peace process.” Mr. Ban described Israel’s continued settlement activities as “an affront to the Palestinian people and to the international community.” He added, “So-called facts on the ground in the occupied West Bank are steadily chipping away the viability of a Palestinian state and the ability of Palestinian people to live in dignity.”        http://www.jihadwatch.org/2016/01/netanyahu-the-words-of-the-u-n-se...

nObamacare’s rising costs out
of reach for many
 Sharyl Attkisson

{sharylattkisson.com} ~ President nObama says that most Americans can find a health insurance option for $75 or less per month. Independent analyses for 2016 are painting a much more difficult picture for the average consumer... The average “Silver” plan premium (that most people have) costs about $300 a month. That’s not the biggest problem, according to analysts. For many, their health insurance has dramatically changed under nObamacare. Deductibles and out of pocket expenses are higher, so many of their medical expenses are no longer covered. Some consumers who say they had good, affordable plans prior to the Affordable Care Act say they can no longer afford the new plans, which are substandard in terms of what they cover.        https://sharylattkisson.com/obamacares-rising-costs-out-of-reach-fo...

CNN Stages Town Hall to

{aim.org} ~ Who ever heard of a presidential primary debate or town hall meeting opening with a kiss on the cheek between the moderator and the frontrunner?... It’s safe to say that didn’t happen between Fox News’ Megyn Kelly and Republican frontrunner Donald Trump. And not just because he didn’t show up for Thursday night’s debate in Iowa. But if you tuned in to the January 25 CNN Democratic town hall, you would have seen that kiss between the moderator Chris Cuomo, and Democratic frontrunner Hilly Clinton. And that was just for starters. The event featured softball after softball question in a continuous love-in for the candidates, but especially so for Mrs. Clinton. This was a far cry from the December CNN Republican debate. Of course, the Cuomo family has a history of favoring Clinton. Chris Cuomo’s brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, recently helped introduce the former New York senator  when she received a gun control award named after his father, Mario Cuomo, who had also served as New York governor. Governor Cuomo has also endorsed her presidential run.

{investigativeproject.org} ~ As conflict and mayhem continue to rage across Syria, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is preparing to encounter the threat of ISIS and al-Qaida forces right on its borders, and could encounter such threats in the coming months... The preparations come as the Syrian civil war shows no sign of letting up. This is a conflict that has led to the violent deaths of 300,000 Syrians, and the displacement of more than 10 million others, 4.5 million of whom have fled the country. Today, the IDF's Military Intelligence Directorate views Syria as a former state that has broken apart into multiple 'Syrias.' The Assad regime controls barely 30 percent of Syria and is fully reliant on the foreign assistance of Russia, Hizballah, and Iran. Sunnis and Shi'ites wage daily war on one another.

{wnd.com} ~ The nObama administration leveled a devastating blow to Hilly Clinton on Friday by admitting for the first time that her personal email server contained the highest levels of classified U.S. intelligence... The White House said 22 emails from former secretary of state’s “home brew” server must be censored from public view when the State Department releases its final batch on Friday. Diplomatic Security and Intelligence and Research bureaus will now try to determine if any of the emails were marked classified at the time of transmission, the Associated Press reported Friday.

{wnd.com} ~ California Rep. Darrell Issa says the FBI has a “slam dunk” case against former Secretary of State Hilly Clinton and senior aide Huma Abedin that it’s itching to prosecute... The former House Oversight chairman’s statement on Friday comes just days after former Republican House Majority Leader Tom DeLay said his contacts in the agency will “blow the whistle and go public” if Attorney General Loretta Lynch does not prosecute. “I think the FBI director would like to indict both Huma and Hilly as we speak,” Issa said at Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s New Hampshire campaign headquarters on Thursday, the Washington Examiner reported. “I think he’s in a position where he’s being forced to triple-time make a case of what would otherwise be, what they call, a slam dunk.”

Planet Earth to Janet Yellen

Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen listens to a reporter’s question during a news conference to announce raised interest rates in Washington December 16, 2015
.
{aei.org} ~ Coming so soon after the FOMC’s ill-advised interest rate hike last month, yesterday’s FOMC statement underlines how out of touch the Federal Reserve has become about global financial market and economic developments...  Indeed, by giving no intimation that it is now ruling out a March interest rate hike, or that it is now reconsidering the interest rate hike path upon which it believes itself to be on, the Fed seems to be repeating the same mistake it made in 2008 of being overly sanguine about the US and global economic outlooks. Minutes of the 2008 FOMC meetings reveal that as late as August 2008, the Fed had no inkling about the magnitude of the sub prime crisis that was about to hit the US and global economies later that year. There are at least three reasons why the Fed is mistaken about now not pursuing a more dovish monetary policy. The first is that it is clear that the credit cycle has turned and that the market has already raised corporate borrowing costs substantially. Market estimates consider that the sharp market interest rate rises in recent months, especially in high-yield corporate borrowing costs, constitutes the equivalent of between three and four increases in the Fed’s federal funds rate. If the market is doing the tightening for it, it would seem that there is little reason for the Fed to further increase its interest rate.        http://www.aei.org/publication/planet-earth-to-janet-yellen/?utm_so...

The Iran-North Korea Nuclear Nexus:
Unanswered Questions
 Ali Alfoneh and Scott Modell
.
.
{defenddemocracy.org} ~ Is there a nuclear proliferation nexus between Iran and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)? Pyongyang tested a nuclear weapon in early January – its fourth such test in a decade and its third since President Barack nObama took office...A top Iranian official overseeing Tehran’s nuclear program was present during the last test, in 2013, and if experience is any guide, the Islamic Republic may have sent representatives to this year’s as well. And just as North Korea unilaterally withdrew over a decade ago from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and proceeded to conduct nuclear tests, an Iranian repeat of such a “breakout” scenario remains a disconcerting possibility. Despite nearly two decades of Iranian denial and deception pointing to an ultimate objective of obtaining nuclear weapons, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) gave its go-ahead for the implementation of the nuclear agreement signed by Tehran and the P5+1 the United States, United Kingdom, Russia, China, France, and Germany in July 2015. This approval came despite the fact that Iran had not addressed many of the most troublesome aspects of its nuclear program – the so-called possible military dimensions. http://www.defenddemocracy.org/content/uploads/documents/Iran_DPRK.pdf

{pamelageller.com} ~ A public school system in Maryland is being sued for promoting Islam over other religions... The lawsuit was filed in federal court Wednesday on behalf of a former Marine and his wife who fought back at their daughter’s high school for forcing students to complete assignments that endorsed Islam. The Thomas More Law Center filed the civil rights complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, accusing leaders at the Charles County Public Schools of violating the plaintiffs’ constitutional rights.

How a Balanced Budget Amendment Gives the
Feds Power over Whatever They Want
Publius Huldah
.
The Language of Liberty
.
{coachisright.com} ~ Does our existing Constitution permit the federal government to spend money on whatever they want? No! It contains precise limits on federal spending.
.
Federal spending is limited by the enumerated powers delegated to the federal government. If you go through the Constitution and highlight all the powers delegated to Congress and the President, you will get a complete list of the objects on which Congress is permitted to spend money.
.
Here’s the list: • The Census (Art. I, §2, cl. 3) • Publishing the Journals of the House and Senate (Art. I, §5, cl. 3) • Salaries of Senators and Representatives (Art. I, § 6, cl. 1) • Salaries of civil officers of the United States (Art. I, §6, cl. 2 & Art. II, §1, cl. 7) • Pay the Debts (Art. I, §8, cl. 1 & Art. VI, cl.1) • Pay tax collectors (Art. I, §8, cl.1) • Regulate commerce with foreign Nations, among the several States, and with Indian Tribes (Art. I, §8, cl.3)  • Immigration office (Art. I, §8, cl.4) • The mint (Art. I, §8, cl. 5) • Attorney General to handle the small amount of authorized federal litigation involving the national government (e.g., Art. I, §8, cls. 6 & 10) • Post offices & post roads (Art. I, §8, cl. 7) • Patent & copyright office (Art. I, §8, cl. 8) • Federal courts (Art. I, §8, cl. 9 & Art. III, §1) • Military and Militia (Art. I, §8, cls. 11-16) • Since Congress has general legislative authority over the federal enclaves listed in Art. I, §8, next to last clause, Congress has broad spending authority over the tiny geographical areas listed in this clause. • The President’s entertainment expenses for foreign dignitaries (Art. II, §3); and • Since Congress had general legislative authority over the Western Territory before it was broken up into States, Congress could appropriate funds for the US Marshalls, federal judges, and the like for that Territory (Art. IV, §3, cl. 2).
.
That’s what Congress is authorized by our Constitution to spend money on. Did I leave anything out? Take a few minutes and, armed with a highlighter, read carefully through the Constitution and see for yourself.
.
Congress is to appropriate funds to carry out this handful of delegated powers; and it is to pay the bills with receipts from taxes.
.
Pursuant to Article I, §9, clause 7, the federal government is to periodically publish a Statement and Account of Receipts and Expenditures. Citizens could use this Statement and Account – which would be so short that everyone would have time to read it – to monitor the spending of their public servants.
.
So that’s how our existing Constitution limits federal spending: • If it’s on the list of enumerated powers, Congress may lawfully spend money on it. • But if it’s not on the list, Congress usurps powers not delegated when it appropriates money for it.
.
It was unconstitutional spending and unconstitutional promises(Social Security, Medicare, etc., etc., etc.) which got us a national debt of almost $19 trillion, plus a hundred trillion or so in unfunded liabilities.
.
Since the Constitution delegates to Congress only limited and narrowly defined authority to spend money; the Constitution doesn’t provide for a budget.
.
We never had a federal budget until Congress passed the Budget and Accounting Act of 1921. By this time, the Progressives controlled both political parties and the federal government.
.
The Progressives wanted a federal budget because they wanted to spend money on objects which were not on the list of delegated powers.
.
A balanced budget amendment (BBA) would substitute a budget for the enumerated powers, and thus would legalize the current practice where Congress spends money on whatever they or the President put in the budget.
.
The result of a BBA is to legalize spending which is now unconstitutional – it changes the constitutional standard for spending from whether the object is on the list of enumerated powers to a limit on the total amount of spending.
.
• To add insult to injury, the limits on spending are fictitious because they can be waived whenever Congress votes to waive them.
.
And because a BBA would permit Congress to lawfully spend money on whatever is put in the budget, the powers of the federal government would be lawfully increased to include whatever THEY decide to put in the budget.
.
So a BBA would fundamentally transform our Constitution fromone of enumerated powers only to one of general and unlimited powers – because the federal government would then be authorized by the Constitution to exercise power over ANY object they decide to put into the budget.
.
You must read proposed amendments and understand how they change our Constitution before you support them.
.
Endnotes: (1) Our original Constitution authorized only excise taxes & tariffs on imports (Art. I, §8, clause 1), with any shortfall being made up by an apportioned assessment on the States based on population (Art. I, §2, clause 3).
.
(2) Compact for America’s (CFA) version of a BBA permits spending limits to be waived whenever Congress and 26 States agree. CFA’s version also authorizes Congress to impose a national sales tax and a national value added tax in addition to keeping the income tax!

SICK: New Jersey Awarded $3.8 Million In Financial Aid To Illegal Aliens

A local news report revealed that the state of New Jersey awarded $3.8 million in financial aid to illegal immigrants during the 2018-2019 school year.

According to a report from NJ.com, the state of New Jersey gave $3.8 million in financial aid to 749 illegal immigrant students in the last academic year. More than a quarter of the funding went to 328 illegal immigrants that attend Rutgers University.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed a law last year that allowed illegal immigrants to apply for financial aid. Prior to the signing, illegal immigrants were permitted to apply to pay in-state tuition at public universities but they were not eligible for financial aid.

Murphy, who supports the spending, hit back at Republican critics by arguing that giving financial aid to illegal immigrants is compatible with American values.

“I’d even invite any of those folks who have that attitude, beginning with our president, to come on into this room and allow me or any of us to say, ‘This is the United States of America,’” Murphy said at the time.

David J. Socolow, executive director of the state’s Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, defended the state’s decision to offer financial aid to illegal immigrants.

“This financial assistance offers these New Jersey students a life-changing opportunity,” Socolow said in a brief comment.“The successes of these first 513 students, who are now attending county colleges, state colleges and universities, and independent institutions around the state, will have a positive impact on countless additional lives.”

According to the report, there is currently no limit on the amount of illegal immigrant students that are permitted to receive financial aid from the state of New Jersey. State lawmakers forecast that they will spend approximately $5 million on financial aid for illegal immigrants each year.
