Leftmedia Blasts AG Sessions for Speech to  'Hate Group'
Religious liberty requires a robust defense of the freedom of conscience. And freedom of conscience is expressed in an individual's right to either accept or reject various beliefs, ideas or behaviors as their own conscience dictates. In other words, an essential and foundational component of freedom of conscience is the right to be discriminating. For a society to espouse a commitment to protect individual freedom, that society must allow for individuals to choose to discriminate against ideals and behaviors they find objectionable, so long as they don't prevent another individual from also engaging their liberty of conscience.
This week the mainstream media ran stories criticizing Attorney General Jeff Sessions for delivering a speech to a "hate group." NBC News' headline read, "Jeff Sessions Tells 'Hate Group' DOJ Will Issue Religious Freedom Guidance," and ABC News' even more biased headline read, "Jeff Sessions addresses 'anti-LGBT hate group,' but DOJ won't release his remarks." So what was this dastardly "hate group" Sessions addressed? It was the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a civil liberties organization dedicated to defending Americans' right to religious freedom. Hardly a "hate group."
How did the Leftmedia come to libeling a long-respected civil liberty organization? The answer: the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). That once-respected organization has taken a hard-left turn in recent years and has essentially designated every politically conservative organization a "hate group." The SPLC has become so politically biased that to reference it as a credible and authoritative source is akin to referencing Joseph Goebbels as an authority on the accuracy of Allied news stories.
As for the claim by ABC News that the DOJ refused to release Sessions' remarks, the full transcript of his speech was published by The Federalist. And it's a good speech, well worth the read. Once again, this serves as yet another example of gross bias in the Leftmedia, as well as its sad state of journalistic integrity~The Patriot Post

Trump’s New Pit Bull – CNN, MSNBC
Anchors Mauled By Sebastian Gorka
by Rick Wells
{rickwells.us} ~ Dr. Sebastian Gorka gets some high praise from Sean Hannity for his efforts in challenging the anti-Trump media on their own field... doing battle with CNN and MSNBC anchors on their programs. He tore them up, humiliating them on live television. Hannity plays a montage of some of those greatest hits that is well worth watching, annihilating Anderson Cooper, Alisyn Camerota and some woman on MSNBC who you’d have to watch their crappy programming to know the identity of and realistically, it’s not important anyway. Hannity welcomes him to the interview with a chuckle over the beat downs, in which he had the upper hand in every instance. He asks why he decided to take it to them, to which Gorka replied, “Sooner or later somebody has to push back.” He says, “Somebody has to be the President’s pit bull and I’m ready, I’m gonna take it to them.”... http://rickwells.us/trumps-new-pit-bull-cnn-msnbc-anchors-mauled-se...

UN Treaty Bans Nuclear Weapons
by Stephen Lendman
{thesleuthjournal.com} ~ On Thursday, 122 UN member states adopted the first ever treaty banning nuclear weapons. It’s legally-binding when taking effect – without an enforcement mechanism to assure compliance... The treaty states “each State Party undertakes never under any circumstances to…develop, test, produce, manufacture, otherwise acquire, possess or stockpile nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices.” All nine nuclear powers, NATO members except the Netherlands opposing the treaty, boycotted the meeting, along with Japan and South Korea. Iran supported it, long ago urging a nuclear-free Middle East. Singapore abstained. On September 20, the measure will be open for signing by all nations. It will become effective 90 days after ratification by 50 member states...I wonder if Iran and North Koran will honor this banning?  http://www.thesleuthjournal.com/un-treaty-bans-nuclear-weapons/

Illegal Immigrant Group La Raza
Rebrands Itself to 'UnidosUs'
by Kerry Lear
{punchingbagpost.com} ~ The advocacy group for illegal immigrants, The United Council of La Raza has announced that it will be changing its name “UnidosUs”, which translates to “United us,” or “United States United.”... La Raza argues that the name-change was not influenced by conservative criticism, but because the term “Raza” received some anti-Latino racism from the Latino community. “Literally translated, “raza” means “race,” but that is not the definition of the word. The term for “the people” was coined to describe the various races Mexican people come from. Chicano civil rights activists popularized it in the 1960s and 1970s and its faced backlash today,” writes the AP News...http://punchingbagpost.com/illegal-immigrant-group-la-raza-rebrands...

California Requires Solar Panels
on All Homes and Windmills on All Farms
by Bruce Bialosky
{townhall.com} ~ As you are aware, Governor Jerry Brown has stated that California will go its own way during the Trump Administration. One of the biggest issues that Brown and his allies in the state legislature have focused on is climate change... They have decided to take matters in their own hands and make California a totally renewable energy state. The California Senate Majority Leader Kevin de León has introduced a new bill that would mandate the Golden State get all of its electricity from renewable sources by 2045. This replaces a law that was passed in 2016 that dictated that renewable energy sources be 50% of all electricity produced by 2030. This bill moves that requirement up to 2025 with the 50% edict and establishes the new 100% standard 20 years later... https://townhall.com/columnists/brucebialosky/2017/07/16/california...

RINO MCCAIN Was Comey’s Delivery Boy,
Enabler For FUSION GPS SMEAR Dossier
by Rick Wells
{rickwells.us} ~ As President Trump continues to battle Democrats, the deep state, media and the GOP establishment, the role RINO Senator John McCain... has played in pushing the anti-Trump narrative and agenda has been significant. With the current media frenzy over the supposed Russia connection, Donald Trump Jr. and a likely staged setup meeting, it’s important to remember that RINO-McCain was himself the delivery boy for another attack on President Trump, the disgusting and discredited Moscow bedroom dossier. On January 10th, prior to President Trump being sworn in, CNN reported some telling skullduggery on the part of RINO neocon John McCain. It was conducted, not in his capacity as a sitting US Senator, but as a tool of the anti-Trump establishment. CNN reported on the discovery of what would later be identified as the Steele or Moscow dossier and its component memos, the Fusion GPS sponsored Russia bedroom fiction that was being used to smear president Trump... http://rickwells.us/rino-mccain-comey-delivery-boy-fusion-gps-smear...

'Kerosene' Maxine Waters:
How Much Longer Will Her District Tolerate Her?
by Larry Elder
{
jewishworldreview.com} ~ Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., has become President Donald Trump's fiercest congressional critic. In eight years, liar-nObama never had a Republican nemesis the likes of Waters, who recently said, "I'm taking the gloves off." Seventeen years ago, I wrote Waters a letter. She never answered. It read, in part:

Congresswoman Waters,

Your power in America, and especially in the black community, is substantial. I honestly, and sincerely, urge you to rethink your positions on several issues. Despite my acknowledged harsh criticisms of you, I never once attacked you personally. I said, on many occasions: "I don't question her heart, but I question her head." I called you a hardworking, tireless warrior for your views.

However, your position on major issues affecting the black community is simply flat-out wrong. Not only do your positions fail to advance the interests of blacks but also, in many cases, actually hurt them.

In "America in Black and White," authors Stephen and Abigail Thernstrom clearly show that the black middle class preceded affirmative action. By affirmative action, I mean preferences, the lowering of standards to achieve "diversity" or "multiculturalism" or "inclusion." I do not include outreach, or using efforts to inform others, irrespective of race, gender, etc., of available opportunities. Moreover, affirmative action insults the hardworking black men and women of this country who, since slavery, built the black middle class, day by day, brick by brick, backache by backache.

In 1963, Ebony magazine ran a series of motivational articles called, "If I Were Young Today." Each month, they asked a black achiever — Federal District Judge Herman Moore, union leader A. Philip Randolph, famed Los Angeles architect Paul Williams — to provide advice to today's youth. Each spoke of drive, vision, hard work and preparation. Not one even implied the need or desire for preferential treatment.

In 1963, Whitney Young, then head of the Urban League, proposed a kind of "Marshall Plan" for blacks. One league member, however, objected to what he called "the heart of it — the business of employing Negroes because they are Negroes." Moreover, Whitney Young suggested his "Marshall Plan" for a period of 10 years. This means, if Young prevailed, affirmative action would have ended in 1973!

Lower college-graduation rates for blacks result from lower standards used in minority admissions to achieve campus "diversity." This mismatching of students, placing someone in a major-league school when he or she would have performed better in a triple-A league, causes — according to one study — a loss of $5.3 billion a year to the black community. Moreover, affirmative action in higher education masked the real problem: substandard education in K-12. Yet you resist many changes urban parents want, including vouchers.

You also fight any attempt to roll back the welfare state. Census records from 100 years ago found blacks, in some cases, more likely than whites to marry and have children within a traditional family structure. As recently as 1960, 22 percent of black children were born to unwed parents. Today, the figure stands at 70 percent, with 80 percent spending at least some time living without a father in the house, at least for part of their lives. Racism? Blame Lyndon Johnson's "War on Poverty," coupled with a "you-owe-me" victicrat mindset that creates dependency and fosters irresponsibility.

The majority of blacks reflect increased prosperity, growing homeownership and steady asset accumulation. The minority, the so-called black underclass, remains disturbing. Quite simply, we see too many children having children. It stands, far and away, as America's No. 1 problem. Whatever role racism played, the complete abolition of white racism would leave these problems unresolved.

Racism no longer remains a potent threat in American life. Hard work, personal responsibility, focus, avoiding slovenly behavior and getting an education will create growth and opportunity. You display precisely these qualities in your life and career, and they formed the basis for your success.

But you refuse to acknowledge this good news, preferring to blame racism. In 1973, former Black Panther Joanne Chesimard gunned down a New Jersey State Highway Patrol officer. A jury convicted her of murder and sentenced her to life in prison. In a daring breakout, Chesimard escaped from prison and fled to Cuba. Congress passed a unanimous resolution urging Castro to send Chesimard back to America and face charges. You, however, wrote Castro a letter, urging him to let her stay, stating she was persecuted for her political beliefs and affiliations. You further likened her to Martin Luther King!

The letter went on from there.

For the 2018 midterm election, Waters has a Republican challenger. His name is Omar Navarro, born and raised in her district, one that is now 46 percent Hispanic and 24 percent black. Navarro ran against her the last election cycle, getting only 24 percent of the vote. But that was before Waters became the "face of the resistance." Some tacticians argue that with Waters leading the "Trump Is Public Enemy No. 1" brigade, the Republican Party is better off. Perhaps so.

But what about America?

ALERT ALERT

Schumer Refusing To Help Border Kids
Wants To Hurt Trump Instead

The controversy over how underage illegal aliens are handled at the border is heating up — but Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer just rejected a good-faith proposal to fix the problem.

A growing number of people on both sides of the political aisle have expressed concern for border separations, which occur when migrants are caught breaking the law along the border while they have children with them, or when the often exploitative relationship between adults and minors at the border cannot be established.

A vast amount of mis-information and outright lying about the situation has muddied the water, making it tough to understand the situation in its entirety.

Both liberals and conservatives, however, have voiced their support for a better system that results in fewer family separations, and even President Donald Trump has indicated that he is willing to stand with Congress if they change the law.

Shockingly, however, it looks like one of the most well-known faces of the Democratic party isn’t willing to take action, and is instead playing politics in order to attack Trump.

On Tuesday, Schumer openly rejected a Republican proposal to fix the immigrant separation problem at the legislative level, and instead whined about the president.

“There are so many obstacles to legislation and when the president can do it with his own pen, it makes no sense,” Schumer stated, according to The Hill.

“Legislation is not the way to go here when it’s so easy for the president to sign it,” he complained.

Democrats Reject Bill To Keep Families Together At Border – Schumer Says He “Wants To Keep Focus On Trump”

Think about that for a second: The president’s job is to execute existing laws. The legislature’s job is to change or enact new laws when needed.

A senator elected to the legislature for exactly that purpose is now refusing to do his job and pass legislation, while simultaneously blaming the president for enforcing the existing laws, as he is sworn to do.

If there was any doubt that Schumer and the Democrats are playing politics instead of trying to actually help migrant families, the senator made his intentions clear: Obstruct and point fingers at Trump.

“Asked if that meant Democrats would not support a bill backed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to keep immigrant families together while seeking asylum on the U.S. border, Schumer said they want to keep the focus on Trump,” The Hill explained.

Make no mistake: The Democrats dragging their feet and refusing to back legislation already drafted by Republicans will prolong the problems at the border.

“Schumer’s opposition to a legislative fix means there likely won’t be a quick end to the emotional images of immigrant children being separated from their families unless Trump backs down,” The Hill reported.

“Democrats want to keep the pressure on Trump instead of having Congress assume responsibility for the growing crisis,” the news outlet continued.

Again: There’s a solution ready to go, with Republicans including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell ready to support it. Yet Democrats like Schumer apparently believe that scoring political points against Trump is more important than helping broken families on the border, even as their own liberal voters demand action.

“Congress alone can fix it,” stated Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen on Monday.

“I support, and all of the senators of the Republican conference support, a plan that keeps families together,” McConnell agreed.

“We need to fix the problem and it requires a legislative solution,” he said.

Yet Democrats refuse to budge.

This “do nothing but blame Trump” response from the left should prove beyond a doubt that all the tears and hand-wringing from liberals are disingenuous. They’re for show. If it was truly about helping innocent kids at the border, Schumer and his fellow Democrats could act right now.

If their priority was actually to solve the problem and help broken families, scoring points against Trump shouldn’t even be a concern. Even if they believed he was being stubborn on the issue, they could take the high road by doing their jobs and supporting bipartisan legislation.

They don’t, because solving the problem was never their goal. They are playing political games and using devastated children as pawns, while pretending that the president is the monster.

That’s sick… and the American people need to see exactly who is doing the obstruction.

SLAVEHOLDER??

Washington Post Compares
Jeff Sessions To Slaveholder’

The Washington Post compared Attorney General Jeff Sessions to “slaveholders” after he quoted the Bible on Thursday while discussing his department’s policy of prosecuting all illegal immigrants who cross the border.

Sessions made the statement during a speech to law enforcement officers in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

WaPo ran a story entitled “Sessions cites Bible passage used to defend slavery in defense of separating immigrant families” by general assignment editor Keith McMillan and religion reporter Julie Zauzmer on Friday.

Rather than detailing the statistics Sessions cited in the speech that explain the immigration policy, the story quoted John Fea, a history professor at Messiah College in Pennsylvania.

“This is the same argument that Southern slaveholders and the advocates of a Southern way of life made,” Fea said.

Sessions spent much of the speech discussing the numbers behind current immigration policy, including separating families at the Southwest border.

“I would cite you to the Apostle Paul and his clear and wise command in Romans 13, to obey the laws of the government because God has ordained the government for his purposes,” Sessions said.

“Orderly and lawful processes are good in themselves. Consistent and fair application of the law is in itself a good and moral thing, and that protects the weak and protects the lawful.”

“The previous administration wouldn’t prosecute aliens if they came with children,” Sessions said.

“It was de-facto open borders if you came with children. The results were unsurprising. More and more illegal aliens started showing up at the border with children.”

Sessions laid out the numbers in the speech.

“In 2013, fewer than 15,000 family units were apprehended crossing our border illegally between ports of entry in dangerous areas of the country,” he said.

“Five years later, it was more than 75,000, a five-fold increase in five years. It didn’t even have to be their child that was brought, it could be anyone. You can imagine that this created a lot of danger.”

The U.S. has the “opportunity” to fix its broken immigration system now, Sessions said.

“I believe that’s it’s moral, right, just and decent that we have a lawful system of immigration,” he said. “The American people have been asking for it.”
