Lindsey Graham Reverses Syria Stance,
Says Trump's Policy Could Succeed

by jpost.com ~ Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who has been one of the most vocal critics of President Donald Trump's decision to move US troops out of northeastern Syria... said on Sunday he now believed "historic solutions" were possible. In an interview with Fox News Channel, Graham said a conversation he had with Trump over the weekend had fueled his optimism that a solution could be reached where the security of Turkey and the Kurds was guaranteed and fighters from Islamic State contained. "I am increasingly optimistic that we can have some historic solutions in Syria that have eluded us for years if we play our cards right," Graham said. Graham said Trump was prepared to use US air power over a demilitarized zone occupied by international forces, adding that the use of air power could help ensure Islamic State fighters who had been held in the area did not "break out." Senator Jim Inhofe, a Republican who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, said on Saturday that Trump understood the need for the United States to maintain air power in the region. "The US must retain air power to keep the pressure on ISIS, prevent our adversaries Russia and Iran from exploiting this situation and protect our partners on the ground," he said in a statement. ISIS is an acronym for Islamic State. Graham also said he believed the United States and Kurdish forces long allied with Washington could establish a venture to modernize Syrian oil fields, with the revenue flowing to the Kurds. "President Trump is thinking outside the box," Graham said of Trump's thinking on oil...  https://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/Lindsey-Graham-reverses-Syria-stance-says-Trumps-policy-could-succeed-605230
Napolitano Wrong Again:
scumbag-Schiff Inquiry a Kangaroo Court

By Daniel John Sobieski
{ americanthinker.com } ~ Fox News legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano, who of late has been the poster child for the increasingly leftward tilt of the network touted as "fair and balanced,"... and who believes that President Trump is guilty of colluding with the Russians to affect the 2016 election and of pressuring Ukraine to investigate a political opponent, insists that the inquiry by Rep. scumbag-Adam Schiff is perfectly legal because there is no requirement in law that a vote to conduct such an inquiry be taken. As he states in an article in the Daily Herald: The due process Trump seeks — notice, hearing, fairness, counsel, cross-examination, confrontation, neutral judges — is only relevant during a trial. The House does not conduct trials; the Senate does. There and only there — if we get there — will the president have his due process rights. But, as Napolitano himself notes, the House has rules, and one of those rules says that in the absence of a clear legal guideline, House precedent should be honored. The House may not have trials, but it is capable of witch hunts and inquisitions. President Trump is entitled under House precedent to the same process, including due process, that Richard Nixon and scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton got. Until the impeachment inquiry against President Trump, the House honored the tradition of relying on precedent as a guarantor of fairness: Little has changed in the House in terms of the process for impeachment. A guide to the process is House Practice: A Guide to the Rules, Precedents and Procedures of the House. As this guide explains, "Under the modern practice, an impeachment is normally instituted by the House by the adoption of a resolution calling for a committee investigation of charges against the officer in question." (p. 614) Although the Senate is more known for precedent, the House also relies on precedent to conduct business. There are different sources for precedent. One of those sources is Deschler's Precedents, authored by the first House parliamentarian, Lewis Deschler. In Chapter 14, Section 6, Deschler's Precedents discusses the impeachment process in great detail, including the precedent for an authorizing resolution for an impeachment proceeding. The Constitution gives the power of impeachment to the House of Representatives as a body and not just to the House Intelligence Committee of scumbag-Adam Schiff, who has colluded with an alleged Ukraine whistleblower. Also in violation of House precedent is the fact that the House Judiciary Committee, which should have jurisdiction, has been written out of the process. scumbag-Schiff's record of manipulation and deceit in this impeachment discussion and its purely political motivation has been well documented...  https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/10/napolitano_wrong_again_schiff_inquiry_a_kangaroo_court.html

By MIKE LILLIS
{ thehill.com } ~ The Democrats' impeachment inquiry sprinted forward on Wednesday as a former State Department official arrived at the Capitol... for what's expected to be another round of marathon testimony into the Trump administration's dealings with Ukraine. Michael McKinley, a former top adviser to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, is slated to discuss issues surrounding Pompeo's role in the administration's pressure campaign to get Ukrainian leaders to investigate one of Trump's leading political opponents, former Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden.  That campaign, which resulted in the removal of Marie Yovanovitch from her post as U.S. ambassador to Ukraine in May, is at the center of the Democrats' hard-charging investigation into whether Trump sought to enlist foreign leaders to boost his reelection chances next year. The inquiry has been fueled by allegations, lodged by a government whistleblower, that Trump had also threatened to withhold almost $400 million in U.S. aide to Ukraine if President Volodymyr Zelensky failed to comply with the administration's request. Pompeo was reportedly on the July 25 phone call between Trump and Zelensky, when Trump asked his Ukrainian counterpart for "a favor" — a reference to opening the loose lips liar-Biden investigation. McKinley, a career diplomat who resigned last week, had been serving as U.S. ambassador to Brazil in 2018 when Pompeo brought him back to Washington to serve as an informal liaison between the agency brass and the department's career diplomats. His resignation was reportedly in protest of Pompeo's failure, as perceived by a growing number of State Department employees, to protect diplomats from the administration's Ukraine operations amid allegations that they were politically motivated...   https://thehill.com/homenews/house/466041-former-state-official-testifies-as-trump-impeachment-probe-roars-on
Abolish the Diversity Visa Lottery

By Amil Imani
{ americanthinker.com } ~ The Diversity Visa Lottery, also known as the Green Card Lottery is an immigration program by which immigrants from nations with usually low rates of immigration to the United States are able to apply for a visa online... The platform, however, has been used by terrorists to penetrate America. On October 31, 2017, Sayfullo Saipov used a rental pickup truck to deliberately mow down pedestrians. After killing eight and injuring 13, he left the truck and shouted, "Allahu Akbar." Sayfullo is an Uzbekistan national and came to America in 2010. Later officials found a note about his allegiance to ISIS. This attack immediately received worldwide reaction from other lawmakers including the US. A bill proposed in August that would slash legal immigration levels in half over a decade also would eliminate the lottery program. The bill went to the House and overwhelmingly passed, but halted in the Senate. Each year, the Diversity Visa Program accepts 50,000 randomly selected people -- only from countries that don’t send many immigrants to the United States -- to obtain permanent residency commonly called a “green card”. It’s a way for individuals and families who otherwise wouldn’t have any way to legally immigrate to the United States to get a green card. The program is often seen as one that should be ended in a shift toward a more merit-based system. According to Heritage Foundation: “It does not bolster the skills of the American workforce, nor does it reunite families or serve any humanitarian function. Its only purpose is to increase ethnic and cultural heterogeneity in the U.S. -- a dubious goal that weakens the social ties within communities.” The diversity lottery has been an unwise policy since its inception in 1986, this program. This program is a dangerous gamble. Many Muslims who arrive in America, are deeply indoctrinated by Islamic credos and find it impossible to assimilate into host countries. In fact, their leaders and Imams encourage them to stay away from the American people and only stay within their own community. Hypocrisy is a Muslim trait while they strive to impose their own defunct 7th century barbaric ideology -- which is the cause of their own misery -- on the host nation. Both America’s political parties are guilty of keeping much of the U.S. population in the dark about Islam’s mission in the U.S. Those who dare to ask their representatives questions regarding this matter, will assure their constituents that in general, Muslims are law-abiding citizens of their adopted countries and it is only a minority that is responsible for the violence and chaos, so lies and deceptions are told...  https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/10/abolish_the_diversity_visa_lottery.html
Sweden: The Church that Spreads Hate

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ The Swedish Jerusalem Society, founded in 1900, has devoted its mission to charity work in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. For several decades, however... the Swedish Jerusalem Society has been hostile to the Jewish State of Israel. The association has three official goals in the Palestinian territories: Strengthen the position of women, Contribute to peace and reconciliation and Strengthen the Christian minority. Despite these noble goals, the Swedish Jerusalem Society publishes a journal in which the content, although often about Israel, has a tone that is extremely hostile and biased. In the journal's first issue of 2018, one can read an interview with a Palestinian school principal, in which she states: "We have suffered for so many years, and may suffer for a few more years, but it is unfair to give our capital to anyone else. Why not share it?" In the same issue, the bishop of the Lutheran Church in Jordan, who supports the anti-Semitic Kairos Palestine Document, says in an interview: "The chosen people -- so are we Christians, me too, not just the Jewish people. To be chosen can never happen at someone else's expense." In the same issue, in an interview with Palestinian politician Mustafa Barghouti, he compares the State of Israel to apartheid South Africa. It is important to highlight that when Barghouti made this comparison during the interview, no critical questions were asked of him. There were also no representatives from the Israeli side allowed there to comment or provide any kind of rebuttal. Consequently, what permeates the contents of the organization's journal is the demonization of Israel...  https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/15028/sweden-church-hate

Depending on the polls you read and how you read them, nearly half of those surveyed want the House impeachment inquiry of President Trump to continue. That is not the same as wanting him impeached, much less convicted by the Senate and removed from office, but it represents a momentum the president needs to address and soon.

The president is correct that he is being treated “unfairly” and has been since before the election, which the left still resents his having won. Still, would the president be in such deep water if he displayed a different personality, or at least was kinder to his political opponents?

Last week at a rally in Minnesota, the president said Barack scumbag/liar-nObama chose loose lips liar-Joe Biden as his running mate in 2008, because “loose lips liar-Biden understood how to kiss Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s ass.” That gets his mostly white rally-goers energized, but what effect does it have on the rest of the country?

Ellen DeGeneres recently demonstrated a different model for relating to political opposites. She was seen at a football game sitting in a box and smiling with former president George W. Bush, whose father was criticized by some on the right for speaking of the need for a “kinder and gentler” nation. DeGeneres said people should be more kind to each other, even if they have different political beliefs.

The New York Post noted, “DeGeneres, 61, has banned numerous celebrities from appearing on her show when they have expressed views that contradict her own, including those who have vocalized their anti-gay marriage views.” DeGeneres is gay and married to a woman.

Inconsistency is not unique to DeGeneres, but she has a point worth considering.

In their biography of the late Jack Kemp, the former congressman, 1996 vice presidential candidate and later HUD secretary, Fred Barnes and Morton Kondracke write: “Kemp embodied a spirit sorely missing in today’s politics — in both parties. Kemp was positive, optimistic, idealistic, energetic, growth-and opportunity-oriented. He was incapable of personal attack and negative campaigning, even when it cost him. ‘The purpose of politics,’ he said, ‘is not to defeat your opponent as much as it is to provide superior leadership and better ideas than the opposition.’”

One of my favorite Kemp lines was that you don’t beat a thesis with an anti-thesis; you beat it with a better thesis.

President Trump has a better thesis. Like Kemp’s promotion of supply-side economics in the 1970s, which Ronald Reagan came to embrace, leading to an economic boom, Trump’s policies are working. He should spend less time calling his opponents names and more time dissecting policies that have failed the country in the past.

Democrats have nothing to offer but “free” stuff and impeachment. They are trying to make the president’s personality central to what some have called a “coup.” He is helping them. It is one thing to be combative, but quite another to be mean.

The president is pushing back against his critics in ways no other recent Republican president has done and good for him for doing so. But there is a way to do it that wins votes and prevails in the next election and another way that detracts from the president’s multiple achievements and could lead to political disaster.

The Old Testament prophet, Jeremiah, rhetorically asks, “Can a leopard change his spots?” At his age President Trump may not be able to change his “spots,” but he can tone down the invective against opponents, which is only giving them and everyone else who hates him permission to fire back in a similar manner.   ~The Patriot Post
