Rich Lowry: "Countless articles have been written on how much better we are at assimilating Muslim immigrants than Europe is, usually with back-patting over our openness and fluidity as a society in contrast to the self-defeating insularity of a country like France. This may be true, but the assumption that we have the magic formula is under stress now that we've repeatedly suffered mass killings by second-generation immigrants. The Islamic State model of inspiring 'lone wolves' already here is dependent on loosely assimilated American Muslims susceptible to its hateful appeals. Disturbingly, it is finding takers. In six months, terrorists have killed more than 60 people on our shores; two of the perpetrators were the sons of immigrants, and one an immigrant herself. One of the reasons we have avoided the problems of a France may be sheer numbers. France has 50 percent more Muslim immigrants than we do, even though it is a much smaller country. Only 1 percent of the U.S. population is Muslim; 7.5 percent of the French population is. The Somali community in Minneapolis, seeded with refugees and then replenished with chain migration, has proved a rich recruiting ground for Islamist extremists. This suggests that when we have our own enclaves of poor Muslim immigrants, the experience isn't a happy one."

nObama Reverses Course on Orlando 911 Transcripts On Monday, the FBI released the full transcripts of the 911 call Orlando jihadi Omar Mateen made during his deadly rampage. The FBI says the release was "in order to provide the highest level of transparency possible under the circumstances." But this transparency came only after the outcry concerning the administration's transparent propaganda effort in redacting those same transcripts.
What did the full transcript reveal? For one thing, Barack nObama's first transcript changed the word "Allah" to "God." But more to the point, Mateen told the dispatcher, "My name is I pledge of allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of the Islamic State." That has been known since the day after the shooting, so why the redaction? Attorney General Loretta Lynch explained Sunday, "What we're not going to do is further proclaim this man's pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups and further his propaganda." She later said she wanted to "avoid revictimizing those who went through this horror."
Wrong. This doctoring served only to further nObama's bogus political narrative that this wasn't Islamist terrorism committed by the so-called JV team he's so thoroughly decimated. He killed Osama bin Laden! Islamist terrorism is a thing of the past. Right?
Last week, nObama scolded those who see the threat clearly, insisting, "There's no magic to the phrase 'radical Islam.' It's a political talking point; it's not a strategy." Again, denying the obvious while lobbing a few bombs and repeatedly boasting victory isn't a strategy, either.
At least one administration official had some guts, though. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said Monday that the attack in Orlando "reminds us that ISIL not only tyrannizes the population where it rose in Syria and Iraq, but it also wants to spread its evil ideology and to plot or inspire attacks on Americans, including here at home." He then advocated a familiar strategy: Defeat Islamist terrorists over there so we don't face them here at home. How long before he's summoned to the Oval Office for a rebuke? -The Patriot Post

Air Force Challenged for Ejecting Vet From Ceremony First Liberty Institute, a legal organization, gave Air Force leaders one week to issue a written apology to retired Senior MSGT Oscar Rodriguez Jr. before it would pursue legal action over a flag retirement ceremony at which Rodriguez was forcibly removed for mentioning God. As Mark Alexander first wrote in April, "There has been yet another example of Barack nObama's top-down effort to eradicate any reference to faith by military personnel."
Rodriguez was invited to speak at the retirement ceremony of MSGT Chuck Roberson April 3. The U.S. military had stripped any mention of God in the retirement ceremony in 2005. But Roberson wanted the traditional ceremony — faith and all — just like he saw Rodriguez perform it a month before. This time, when Rodriguez mentioned the name of God, a group of maintenance personnel (not security) forcibly removed the veteran from the ceremony.
"The Air Force had no right to assault a citizen, much less a 33-year military veteran, because they didn't want him to mention 'God,'" said Mike Berry, military affairs director at First Liberty Institute. "Mr. Rodriguez has a constitutional right to free speech and religious expression, even on a military base. The military broke the law and abused its power. We expect the Air Force to hold those responsible accountable, and allow Mr. Rodriguez to continue honoring the flag and other veterans who have sacrificed for our country."
It'll be quite a fight, for the policies that seek to scrub the faith that sustains many a man and woman in uniform comes straight from the commander in chief. -The Patriot Post

Hacker releases liar-Clinton Foundation documents

The hacker, who identified himself as "Guccifer 2.0" after the Romanian hacker who claimed to have breached liar-Hilly Clinton's personal server, published documents that detailed liar-Clinton's weaknesses as a candidate, including a collection of negative press clips about the liar-Clinton Foundation and a list of defenses against attacks on her private email use. DHS agent may have planned high-level assassinations

{wnd.com} ~ Authorities are investigating whether a Homeland Security employee with top-secret clearance was planning to assassinate top officials at the agency’s Washington headquarters... when he entered the building earlier this month with a loaded revolver, a 3-inch folding knife, an infrared camera, pepper spray and handcuffs. Jonathan Wienke, an analyst in the Office of Intelligence and Analysis, allegedly carried the weapons into the building when he showed up for work on the morning of June 9, ABC News reports. Investigators say they believe Wienke was conspiring with another person, who hasn’t been named, to commit a mass shooting or some other type of “workplace violence” against the senior DHS officials directly across from his cubicle. UN Schools Caught Teaching Arab Children

But now, U.S. lawmakers are speaking out, with media reports saying that legislation is being considered to yank funding from the UN-run schools. The film, produced by the Center for Near East Policy Research, shows numerous young children proudly celebrating the murder of Jews and explaining what they learned in their UN schools. Children also appear on camera vowing to fight for the Islamic State, or ISIS, and calmly explaining how they hope to become suicide bombers someday. Others boast that, one day, they hope to stab, shoot, or run down Jews with cars. The new material, released on May 27, comes amid a fresh surge in terrorist attacks in Israel, with more than 2,200 attacks by Arabs on Jews since last September. {townhall.com} ~ Surely murder is a serious subject, which ought to be examined seriously. Instead, it is almost always examined politically in the context of gun control controversies, with stock arguments on both sides that have remained the same for decades. And most of those arguments are irrelevant to the central question: Do tighter gun control laws reduce the murder rate?That is not an esoteric question, nor one for which no empirical evidence is available. Think about it. We have 50 states, each with its own gun control laws, and many of those laws have gotten either tighter or looser over the years. There must be tons of data that could indicate whether murder rates went up or down when either of these things happened.
But have you ever heard any gun control advocate cite any such data? Tragically, gun control has become one of those fact-free issues that spawn outbursts of emotional rhetoric and mutual recriminations about the National Rifle Association or the Second Amendment.
If restrictions on gun ownership do reduce murders, we can repeal the Second Amendment, as other Constitutional Amendments have been repealed. Laws exist to protect people. People do not exist to perpetuate laws.
But if tighter restrictions on gun ownership do not reduce murders, what is the point of tighter gun control laws -- and what is the point of demonizing the National Rifle Association?
There are data not only from our 50 states but also from other countries around the world. Professor Joyce Lee Malcolm's empirical study, "Guns and Violence: The English Experience," should be eye-opening for all those who want their eyes opened, however small that number of people might be.
Professor Malcolm's book also illustrates the difference between isolated, cherry-picked facts and relevant empirical evidence.
Many gun control advocates have cited the much higher murder rates in the United States than in England as due to tighter gun control laws in England. But Professor Malcolm's study points out that the murder rate in New York has been some multiple of the murder rate in London for two centuries -- and, during most of that time, neither city had serious restrictions on gun ownership.
As late as 1954, "there were no controls on shotguns" in England, Professor Malcolm reported, but only 12 cases of armed robbery in London. Of these only 4 had real guns. But in the remainder of the 20th century, gun control laws became ever more severe -- and armed robberies in London soared to 1,400 by 1974.
"As the numbers of legal firearms have dwindled, the numbers of armed crimes have risen" is her summary of that history in England. Conversely, in the United States the number of handguns in American homes more than doubled between 1973 and 1992, while the murder rate went down.
There are relevant facts available, but you are not likely to hear about them from politicians currently pushing for tighter gun control laws, or from the mainstream media, when those facts go against the claims of gun control advocates.
Despite hundreds of thousands of times a year when Americans use firearms defensively, none of those incidents is likely to be reported in the mainstream media, even when lives are saved as a result. But one accidental firearm death in a home will be broadcast and rebroadcast from coast to coast.
Virtually all empirical studies in the United States show that tightening gun control laws has not reduced crime rates in general or murder rates in particular. Is this because only people opposed to gun control do empirical studies? Or is it because the facts uncovered in empirical studies make the arguments of gun control zealots untenable?
In both England and the United States, those people most zealous for tighter gun control laws tend also to be most lenient toward criminals and most restrictive on police. The net result is that law-abiding citizens become more vulnerable when they are disarmed and criminals disobey gun control laws, as they disobey other laws.
The facts are too plain to be ignored. Moreover, the consequences are too dangerous to law-abiding citizens, whose lives are put in jeopardy on the basis of fact-free assumptions and unexamined dogmas. Such arguments are a farce, but not the least bit funny.
