{ foxnews.com } ~ President Trump said late Thursday that he is considering Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., for the permanent Director of National Intelligence job... a move that could resolve a mini-crisis in the GOP surrounding Collins' challenge against incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., in Georgia's upcoming special election. Yet Collins told Fox Business Network's Maria Bartiromo on Friday morning that while he's humbled by the possible offer, he is focused on running for Senate and would not accept the job. "This is not a job that interests me, at this time it's not one that I would accept because I'm running a Senate race down here in Georgia," Collins said. It's unclear whether that could change at some point. Trump's comment that he may nominate Collins to lead the nation's intelligence agencies adds an element of intrigue to the U.S. Senate special election in the Peach State, after Collins' decision to join the race upset many in the GOP. Trump's statement came the day after he appointed U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell to the DNI post in an acting role. Before Grenell, Joseph Maguire held the acting DNI job, which he assumed in August after the last Senate-confirmed DNI, Dan Coats, left the administration. In a Thursday night tweet, Trump said he would send a nominee for DNI to the Senate soon." Thank you to our great US Ambassador to Germany, @RichardGrenell, for stepping in to serve as acting DNI," Trump said. "I will be nominating a terrific candidate for the job very soon. Stay tuned!" Collins, a staunch Trump ally and one of his most vocal defenders through the impeachment saga, confirmed to "Fox & Friends" on Jan. 29 that he would seek higher office. The move drew a strong rebuke from the organization tasked with defending the Republican Senate majority. "This shortsighted decision is stunning," National Republican Senatorial Committee Executive Director Kevin McLaughlin said in a statement at the time. "Doug Collins' selfishness will hurt David Perdue, Kelly Loeffler, and President Trump. Not to mention the people of Georgia who will stand to bear the burden of it for years to come. All he has done is put two senate seats, multiple house seats, and Georgia's 16 electoral votes in play."...  https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-says-he-is-considering-doug-collins-rep-running-special-election-challenge-to-sen-loeffler-for-dni-job

{ americanthinker.com } ~ The poorly written click-bait headline at the Washington Post “Trump declares himself ‘chief law enforcement officer’” complete with the scare quotes, might create the impression among the woefully ignorant who depend on their “fish wrapper” for news... The headline implies President Trump said something wrong, which begs the question: has anybody under the age of sixty ever read the U.S. Constitution? It’s only about four pages long, written back in the day when people still produced clear and concise documents by hand. And more importantly, shouldn’t “journalists”  have a basic understanding of their subject matter if they are going to be allowed to help shape public opinion with their reporting? The Constitution's Section 1 of Article II includes the President’s specific oath of office in the definition of his duties: ''I do solemnly swear or affirm that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.'' Section 3 in Article II adds, “the President shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States.” Are these reporters old enough to remember what Paul Begala said as scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton was signing an executive order: “Stroke of the pen, law of the land. Kinda cool.” The concept of an executive order is very cool, actually, because of the Constitutional separation of powers between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government. Congress passes bills. Presidents sign those bills into law or veto them. Congress may override the veto. The courts rule on whether or not those new laws are unconstitutional. Why yes, it turns out that at least one of the two credited reporters, Pulitzer Prize-winning “investigative journalist” Beth Reinhard, was already working as a reporter when scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton was elected. She ought to know the Begala quote as well as I do. Theoretically, she should know a lot more about politics than I do. So why has she allowed her name to be associated with that headline? Once Congress has made a law, it becomes the duty of the president to see that law enforced. Barack scumbag/liar-nObama was famous for his selective enforcement of federal laws, especially those pertaining to illegal immigration. He called cops “dumb” and routinely interfered with justice in the murder trial of George Zimmerman, and contributed to racial tensions after the death of Michael Brown by sending scumbag-Eric Holder to Ferguson, implying that the local criminal justice system wouldn’t give Officer Darren Wilson a fair trial because they might find him innocent of the charges. Wilson was innocent. Brown was killed in self-defense.Yes, Donald Trump commuted the sentence of former Democratic governor Rod Blagojevich  and commented on the ridiculous sentencing requests of prosecutors in the Roger Stone case. So what? scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton pardoned Marc Rich. Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon. Presidents are given this authority by the Constitution. The question isn’t whether or not POTUS has the authority as granted by the Constitution -- he absolutely does. The question that usually arises in the case of a pardon is the motive behind it. Why did Gerald Ford pardon Richard Nixon? My best guess is because no U.S. president in history has ever been convicted of a crime and sent to prison after leaving office, and he didn’t want to set the precedent... https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/02/donald_trump_emisem_americas_chief_law_enforcement_officer.html

{ foxnews.com } ~ A record number of candidates have filed to run for office in the House and Senate, breaking last cycle’s history-making numbers from the same point in time... But unlike the 2018 midterms when the surge was driven by Democrats, the congressional boom this time is on the Republican side, according to the latest federal candidate and financial activity report obtained exclusively by Fox News. In 2019 alone, 781 Republicans filed federal paperwork to run for the House, the most ever recorded in an odd year at the Federal Election Commission. That’s up from 593 GOP candidates in 2017, when Democrats had an astounding 937 candidates at the same point. Republican candidates across the country interviewed by Fox News said they feel momentum is on their side this time. Energized by President Trump and his impeachment acquittal, congressional hopefuls are making the case that Trump needs a fighter like them in the House or else the country will succumb to “socialist” Democratic plans. “I'm tired of seeing my president attacked every day,” said Marjorie Greene, a GOP businesswoman and first-time congressional candidate running for an open seat in Georgia’s 14th district. “I'm tired of seeing our future threatened. I'm tired of seeing my children's future extremely threatened, and it’s time to get off the bench and really step up to the plate.” Like many GOP candidates vying for office this year, Greene takes aim directly at progressive darling Rep. commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her freshman squad and says Congress needs strong conservative women to stand up to “tyrannical socialist Democrats.” “These are radical women that will not bend. They do not want to work across the aisle. They only want their policies of the Green New Deal, 'Medicare-for-all' and socialism for America,” Greene told Fox News. “Oftentimes, it takes a woman to put another woman in her place," said Greene, whose family owns a commercial construction company. commie-Ocasio-Cortez herself also is facing a slew of challengers on both sides of the aisle this election cycle...   https://www.foxnews.com/politics/republican-revenge-record-gop-field-forms-on-2020-mission-to-take-down-socialists
Dershowitz's Critics on the Right

{ americanthinker.com } ~ The avalanche of denunciation that fell upon the head of Professor Alan Dershowitz after his address before the Senate’s impeachment proceeding was unsurprising... In lending his stature and knowledge to the President’s defense, he, of course, became the enemy of Trump’s progressive pursuers. The fact that Dershowitz is a lifetime Democrat and liberal made it worse. The Left does not react well to apostasy. But the adverse reaction to Dershowitz’s defense of the President emanated from the nominal right as well -- particularly from  National Review and the Dispatch. Jonah Goldberg is not entirely persuaded that impeachable misconduct must be a defined criminal offense, as contended by Dershowitz. He thinks the very notion to be “logically, legally, morally, constitutionally, historically, and factually absurd.” He cites first the remarks of Edmund Burke during the 1788 impeachment trial of Warren Hastings, Governor-General of India, suggesting that the House of Lords should not restrict its deliberations to the precepts of jurisprudence. The detail that Hastings was  acquitted, Goldberg does not vouchsafe. More importantly, the American Constitution dispenses with the British motion for a vote of no confidence. While the procedure of impeachment derives from the English tradition, impeachment under the provisions in Articles I and II is a procedure for removal on the basis of moral turpitude, not faulty performance. The British prime minister can be removed simply because a majority in Parliament think he is doing an unacceptably bad job. Churchill himself had to defend against a motion for a no confidence vote after Tobruk fell to Rommel’s Afrika Korps. Dershowitz’s critics insist that gross malfeasance must be a ground for impeachment. Their refutations are a cornucopia of colorful hypothetical examples. “What if a president just walks off the job?” asks Goldberg. “Say the president decides to follow a Grateful Dead tribute band around the country for a year.” Never thought of that, did you, Reader? Now someone might object that the behavior described, suggesting insanity, would call for invocation of the 25th Amendment, by which the President is removed when the vice-president or a majority of the cabinet certify him to be incompetent. But Goldberg has thought of that and points out that the 25th Amendment was only passed in 1967. So before that, they must have relied upon the impeachment clause if the President went off his rocker. Goldberg’s approach to statutory construction is innovative. If a law amendment is passed to address a certain problem, it normally would be supposed that the hitherto existing law did not address it. That is why a new law is necessary...  https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/02/dershowitzs_critics_on_the_right.html

Canada: Seeding the State With Totalitarianism

{ clarionproject.org } ~ I was born and raised in Pakistan. Later in life, my husband and I lived in at least three Arab cities. We have also traveled extensively through most of the Muslim majority countries... As a young couple, our goal was to establish our careers and gain financial stability. We quickly learned that in order to achieve these goals, there were certain things we could never discuss publicly. This included absolutely no criticism of the ruling family in any given country or any aspect of religion, government, laws, gender inequality or human rights aberrations all of which we saw. In short, there was no freedom of expression. At the end of 1988, already a young family, we moved to Canada to embrace the values of freedom of speech, freedom of or from religion, gender equality and a healthy respect for debate and discussion. It took some time to absorb all this and feel empowered to speak out. I started by writing in the local newspaper. I could now freely critique and question the status quo – especially gender issues and the growing Islamist agenda I saw. Thirty years down the road, can I do this in Canada today? The answer is a resounding “no!” Is Canada beginning to resemble the theocracies we left behind? Yes, because Canada is starting to show signs of totalitarianism. The freedoms that we came here for are at stake, with the most important of all being freedom of speech. It started with a wave of political correctness leading to Motion 103 (M103) which does not allow for any critique of Islam or Muslims. M103 has petrified Canadians into silence so much so that they can’t even question extremist attacks on our soil or the rise of hate-speech in places of worship...  https://clarionproject.org/canada-seeding-the-state-with-totalitarianism/?utm_source=Clarion+Project+Newsletter&utm_campaign=c8b1e39b53-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_02_20_03_19&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_60abb35148-c8b1e39b53-6442509&mc_cid=c8b1e39b53&mc_eid=b83b13a9b5

scumbag-Eric Holder triggered by reporter
exposing Andrew McCabe prosecutor's
Democratic bona fides
by BRECK DUMAS
{ theblaze.com } ~ Former U.S. Attorney General scumbag-Eric Holder lost his temper on Thursday in reaction to details surrounding the Democratic prosecutor and scumbag/liar-nObama administration holdover... who dropped the case against former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, telling a reporter to "shut the hell up" and accusing him of wanting to "use the justice system for political reasons."  Investor's Business Daily alum and RealClearPolitics contributor Paul Sperry tweeted Tuesday, "BREAKING: Molly Gaston, the asst US Attorney who signed letter to McCabe's lawyer informing McCabe she was closing criminal case against him, is Democrat who's given thousands to Dems including scumbag/liar-nObama & who once worked for Dem side of House Oversight & whose mother worked for WaPo." On Thursday night, scumbag-Holder replied to Sperry, "Why don't you shut the hell up. Your bias is showing. I bet you've never been a prosecutor or have any idea how DOJ works. People like you-who want to use the justice system for political reasons-are both dangerous and ignorant. The case was-like you-an obvious loser."The Twittersphere pointed out that Mr. scumbag-Holder is a partner at Covington & Burling LLP, the same law firm where Gaston's father,  Eugene Gulland, is senior counsel. According to Fox News, Sperry "has often been critical of scumbag-Holder, the Justice Department, and current Attorney General William Barr." Sperry tweeted Thursday night, "scumbag-Eric Holder completely politicized DOJ so he has a lot of gall weighing in on this issue."The Justice Department launched an investigation into McCabe in 2018, following a criminal referral from DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz. McCabe, who now works for CNN, was accused of lying to investigators and leaking sensitive information to the media. On Feb. 14, Gaston and DOJ Fraud & Public Corruption Section Chief J.P. Cooney sent a letter to McCabe's attorneys informing them that "the Government has decided not to pursue criminal charges against your client."...

Demo Debate: dinky/liar-Warren Scalps Bloomberg, Aids commie-Sanders

Political Editors:  Because the gloves finally came off at last night’s Las Vegas debate, it could have been called a heavy-weight bout … if any of the fighters on stage were heavy weights. The reality is that the Democrat presidential field at one point had 29 candidates. Just six debated last night, all of whom showed themselves to be woefully wrong for the office of president.

Mark Alexander suffered through the debate on your behalf, and here are some of his real-time observations:

As I have avoided these debates thus far, it is interesting to see this crew in action – they HATE each other. And all of them are demonstrably inept. I understand why the Iowa and New Hampshire Demo turnouts were unimpressive. Making the spectacle more obnoxious is the electronic backdrop behind the candidates with giant stars distractingly floating around – looks like AV console operator took some bad drugs.

This actually just happened: commie-Bernie Sanders was listing all the ethnic groups that the Democrats need to motivate, and when he mentioned “Native American,” dinky/liar-Warren raised her hand. It was part of the second grade classroom hand-raising contest on stage, but appeared as if she was again, trying to claim her native heritage.

Warren is HAMMERING Bloomberg, relentless on his hush money to female employees he has insulted or assaulted. This is most likely going to be the takeaway on Bloomberg. And the Demos’  Leftmedia propagandists will trumpet dinky/liar-Warren’s attack because they are mostly commie-Bernie fans.

Listening to commie-Sanders for more than just soundbites, it quickly becomes evident that he is on another planet. He fabricates facts in virtually every sentence, just pulls most of his facts out of thin air. This helps explain why he is so appealing to adolescents.

Everybody is referring to Bloomberg as “mayor” after his years ruling over NYC, which diminishes socialist-Buttigieg’s “mayoral status.” socialist-Buttigieg took some cheap shots at Klobuchar and Warren came to her defense – some staged sisterhood thing.

Predictably, they are all attacking Bloomberg. socialist-Buttigieg had a good shot against commie-Sanders and Bloomberg, saying that commie-Sanders wanted to “burn this party down” while Bloomberg “wants to buy this party out.” socialist-Buttigieg insisted, “Let’s put forward somebody who’s actually a Democrat.”

For pretty much the first 30 minutes, loose lips liar-Joe Biden said next to nothing. Apparently his strategy is just to let the rest of the crew attack each other, uninterrupted fratricidal fire.

Halfway in and Bloomberg is fumbling badly. But with the hundreds of millions of dollars he’s spending on advertising, it won’t matter what his stage performance looked like. All most Americans will know about Bloomberg will shaped by his media soundbites. Bloomberg has now spent about $430 million and it’s his first appearance – for perspective Trump spent about $650 million in 2016.

In the end, Bloomberg was the big loser, and never should have appeared on this stage. dinky/liar-Warren’s Bloomberg attacks made commie-Sanders the winner. But my overall takeaway, this is confederacy of dunces.

Perhaps the most glaring example of the venom in the debate last night was dinky/liar-Warren’s broadside on Bloomberg’s demeaning comments about women and nondisclosure agreements to cover them up. “I’d like to talk more about who we’re running against — a billionaire who calls women ‘fat broads’ and ‘horse-faced lesbians,’” Warren said. “I’m not talking about Donald Trump. I’m talking about Mayor Bloomberg.”

After Bloomberg offered an incredibly lame deflection on the nondisclosure agreements, Warren leveled him. “I hope you heard what his defense was. ‘I’ve been nice to some women,’” dinky/liar-Warren said. “What we need to know is exactly what’s lurking out there. He has gotten some number of women — dozens, who knows — to sign nondisclosure agreements both for sexual harassment and gender discrimination in the workplace. So, Mr. Mayor, are you willing to release all of those women from those nondisclosure agreements so we can hear their side of the story?”

Bloomberg’s reply? “None of them accused me of doing anything other than maybe they didn’t like a joke I told.” That didn’t play well with the audience. But again, most Democrat voters won’t know anything about the hits he took; they will only know what his next $500 million in ads tell them.

Other candidates hit Bloomberg too. “I think we need something different from Donald Trump,” declared Amy Klobuchar. “I don’t think we look at Donald Trump and say, ‘We need someone richer in the White House.’”

“We have a grotesque and immoral distribution of wealth in income,” Sanders thundered. “Mike Bloomberg owns more wealth than the bottom 125 million Americans. That’s wrong. That’s immoral. That should not be the case.”

But Bloomberg hit back, especially at commie-Sanders and his socialism. Bloomberg has eight enormous estates around the world, but when challenged about his wealth, he jeered, “What a wonderful country we have. The best known socialist in the country happens to be a millionaire with three houses.” commie-Sanders responded he does have a “camp,” which you can see here.

“We’re not going to throw out capitalism,” Bloomberg insisted. “We tried that. Other countries tried that. It was called communism, and it just didn’t work.”

Mark Alexander concluded, “Obviously, Bloomberg never should have gotten on that stage, but like most the insular mega-wealthy, he thought he was bullet proof. And Warren won the debate … for commie-Sanders.”

More fun to come: Debate 10 is 25 February in Charleston, SC, and 11 is 15 March in Phoenix. Will Bloomberg attempt to redeem himself? Probably.
