{ dailycaller.com } ~ President Donald Trump said the ceasefire agreed upon by the U.S. and Turkey on Thursday is on again after reports of Friday morning shelling and machine-gun fire on the Syria-Turkey border... The president’s comments came after Reuters said it heard shelling and machine-gun fire at the border Friday morning despite a five-day ceasefire agreement that Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo negotiated with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during their visit to Ankara on Thursday.“Just spoke to President Erdogan of Turkey. He told me there was minor sniper and mortar fire that was quickly eliminated. He very much wants the ceasefire, or pause, to work. Likewise, the Kurds want it, and the ultimate solution, to happen,” Trump tweeted Friday afternoon. “Too bad there wasn’t this thinking years ago. Instead, it was always held together with very weak bandaids, and in an artificial manner. There is good will on both sides and a really good chance for success. The U.S. has secured the Oil, and the ISIS Fighters are double secured by Kurds and Turkey,” the president continued.Trump also told reporters at the White House on Friday that “there was some sniper fire this morning,” adding, “There was mortar fire this morning. That was eliminated quickly. And they’re back to the full pause,” according to Reuters. Pence’s meeting to negotiate a ceasefire came nearly two weeks after the White House announced that it was pulling the remaining 50 U.S. soldiers from northern Syria on Oct. 6. “Earlier this week President Trump took decisive action to call on Turkish forces to stand down, to end the violence, to agree to negotiations,” Pence said at a Thursday press conference in Turkey. “And today I’m proud to report, thanks to the strong leadership of President Donald Trump and the strong relationship between President Erdogan and Turkey and the United States of America, that today the United States and Turkey have agreed to a ceasefire in Syria,” he continued. The president implemented economic sanctions on Turkey — including the cancelation of negotiations with Turkey on a $100 billion trade deal and a 50% tariff on steel — on Oct. 14 in an effort to increase pressure on Turkey to commit to a ceasefire..
Trump nominates Dan Brouillette
to replace Energy Secretary Rick Perry

{ foxnews.com } ~ President Trump on Friday announced that he is nominating Deputy Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette to replace outgoing Energy Secretary Rick Perry... who will depart at the end of the year. "I want to thank Secretary of Energy Rick Perry for the outstanding job he has done. He will be leaving at the end of the year to pursue other interests. Rick was a great Governor of Texas and a great Secretary of Energy. He is also my friend!" Trump tweeted. "At the same time, I am pleased to nominate Deputy Secretary Dan Brouillette to be the new Secretary of Energy. Dan’s experience in the sector is unparalleled. A total professional, I have no doubt that Dan will do a great job!" the president said. Perry, a former Texas governor, had come under scrutiny over the role he played in the president's dealings with Ukraine, which are currently the subject of an impeachment inquiry -- raising questions as to whether the probe factored into his decision to leave. House Democrats subpoenaed Perry as part of their investigation. Multiple administration sources reiterated to Fox News that Perry was central to the apparent foreign policy operation to encourage a Ukrainian investigation into 2020 presidential hopeful loose lips liar-Joe Biden's actions involving the country. They said Perry was one of a handful of officials working on the matter hand-in-glove with Trump and the president's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani. But in an interview Friday on "America's Newsroom," Perry told Fox News' Bill Hemmer that his decision to leave did not have anything to do with Ukraine. "It has everything to do for the last eight or nine months. I've been looking back to Texas on a pretty regular basis... Jon Hollis, who is running for the Los Angeles-area seat held by scumbag-Schiff since 2001, has filed an ethics complaint against his opponent based on the 2017 call, in which a phony Ukrainian politician claimed to have graphic photos of the then newly-inaugurated President Trump. “This letter serves as an official complaint to the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) regarding Rep. scumbag-Adam Schiff’s illegal collusion with foreign entities and misuse of taxpayer resources for opposition research on political enemies,” one complaint, dated Aug. 28 and filed by Jon Hollis, a Republican challenger for the seat in California’s 28th Congressional District, stated. “The evidence supporting scumbag-Adam’s Schiff's violations of the law is compelling and irrefutable.” The filing primarily points to that wincing 2017 call that continues to haunt. At the time, scumbag-Schiff assumed he was talking with Ukrainian politician Andriy Parubiy, who solicited potentially damaging information and compromising pictures of Trump from his visit to Russia for the Miss Universe pageant four years earlier. scumbag-Schiff stressed in the call that he would “be in touch with the FBI” to make arrangements with regard to accessing the supposedly explicit materials and cautioned the voice on the other end not to divulge anything he would not want “our Russian friends” to hear, warning that they were likely listening. However, in reality, the then-ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee was conversing with someone far from the political powers of Kiev. Instead, he was being pranked by two Russian comedians — Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov....

Than 200 Fraudulent Families

{ townhall.com } ~ U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) has identified 238 fraudulent cases of individuals claiming to be related in order to secure entry into the United States... Illegal aliens from Central and South America have been exploiting children to take advantage of loopholes in U.S. immigration policy. In April, the Family Fraud Initiative was launched by ICE, in conjunction with Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Border Patrol, to investigate individuals posing as family members when applying for asylum in the United States. Under the policy known as "catch and release," families with minor children arriving to the United States are released ahead of their hearing in immigration court, a hearing in which many migrants fail to appear. ICE announced in a press release that more than 350 individuals have been "federally prosecuted for various crimes, including human smuggling, making false statements, conspiracy, and illegal re-entry after removal," following the inception of the Family Fraud Initiative in April. "Some of the most disturbing cases identified involve transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) and individuals who are increasingly exploiting innocent children to further their criminal activity. Investigations indicate that TCOs and individuals have entered into schemes with biological parents to dangerously transfer their children – ranging in age from 4 months to 16 years – to unrelated adults so they can pose as family units to further their human smuggling criminal enterprises and/or fraudulently obtain U.S. immigration benefits," according to ICE. In addition to children being exploited by criminals, the Family Fraud Initiative also identified 50 individuals who falsely presented themselves as unaccompanied minors. According to the press release, "this past summer Border Patrol agents encountered a Guatemalan, who initially claimed to be an unaccompanied minor. The alleged juvenile possessed a birth certificate that reflected his claim to being 15 years old. However, during questioning he admitted that the birth certificate he presented was fraudulent, and that in fact he was an 18-year-old adult. In this case as in several others, the agents’ investigative actions prevented this man from being processed as a minor, referred to HHS and housed with juveniles. "ICE says such cases of family fraud are only increasing as more and more individuals exploit loopholes in our immigration policies. .
'Wealth tax' would rob innovation, says analyst

"A wealth tax is distinct from an income tax," explains Adam Michel, a tax policy analyst for The Heritage Foundation, a center-right think tank in Washington, D.C. "It would be an entirely new tax system overlaid on top of our existing one." To put it another way, it would be like having to comply with the estate tax or the "death tax." But it would not just be after one's assets are passed on to his heirs; it is a tax on the total accumulated assets of any given person every single year. "It's often described as a small one or two percent or three percent tax. However, because it's on a stock rather than the earnings every year, it can translate to have incredibly high effective income tax rates of above 100 percent," Michel explains. The analyst says that means people will be investing and innovating less. "It's really a total change in the way that we think about a government's relation to our money," he adds. { thepoliticalinsider.com } ~ Journalist Megyn Kelly’s brief return to Fox News Wednesday as a guest on host Tucker Carlson’s show drew over four million viewers according to Nielsen Media Research... Kelly’s first television interview in a year and first time on Fox News in over two years made “Tucker Carlson Tonight” the most-watched show on cable, Nielsen Media Research found. Kelly left Fox for NBC News in 2017, and left that network in January after she made comments about blackface and Halloween. She apologized for the comments and her NBC show was cancelled. Carlson’s show Wednesday saw 4.06 million viewers tune in, making it easily the most-watched show on cable. Fox News’s Sean Hannity came in second with 3.65 million viewers and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow followed with 3.44 million viewers, The Hill reported. The former host had a lengthy interview with Carlson Wednesday and went after NBC News, her former employer, over accusations that the network tried to cover up sexual misconduct allegations against former host Matt Lauer. “There needs to be an outside investigation into this company,” Kelly said during the interview. “They investigated themselves. That doesn’t work. This is how it’s done. You get somebody on the outside who can be trusted.” “They haven’t gotten specific about what monies were paid out to home. Show us the money. The number one thing that needs to happen now is they need to release any and all Matt Lauer accusers from their confidentiality agreements.” NBC will not being opening a new investigation into accusations against Lauer even after investigative journalist Ronan Farrow published a book released Tuesday titled “Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators.”Farrow accused the network of trying to shut down his 2017 report about sexual misconduct allegations against now-disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. The article was published in The New Yorker Oct. 10, 2017, and the book includes a more extensive investigation into NBC News.“There is no additional investigation being launched. We are very confident in the report that was conducted,” NBC spokeswoman Hilary Smith said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “We fired Matt Lauer within 24 hours of learning what he did, and promptly launched a corporate investigation.”“Based on our investigative findings, we have swiftly taken appropriate actions to address the situation and improve workplace culture. It is also worth noting that this was a corporate investigation that was conducted by an almost entirely female team, none of whom are part of the News division.” Kelly also hit back at the media during her interview with Carlson, noting the increased acceptability of bias since President Donald Trump took office in 2016.“It was sort of passive and now it’s active,” she explained. “Now it’s, ‘Let’s work. He’s too bad. We have to work together. We’ll be judged. History will judge as whether we were for or against this man Trump.’”.

Thomas Gallatin: loose lips liar-Joe and Hunter Biden need to get their stories straight. In an obvious attempt to tamp down the smoldering scandal of the loose lips liar-Bidens’ apparent pay-to-play deal with Ukraine, Hunter sat down for an interview with ABC News. While insisting that he did nothing wrong, Hunter conceded, “In retrospect … I think that it was poor judgment on my part.” He continued, “Was it poor judgment to be in the middle of something that is … a swamp in many ways? Yeah.”
ABC aired the interview Tuesday morning, strategically timed so as to be drowned out by all the coverage of the Democrat presidential debate coming only a few hours later. However, in spite of this, the interview did little to make the scandal go away, and in fact it may have only made it worse for loose lips liar-Joe Biden.
During the debate, loose lips liar-Biden was asked, “If it’s not okay for a president’s family to be involved in foreign businesses, why was it okay for your son when you were vice president?” loose lips liar-Biden responded by contradicting his son’s admission of “poor judgment” in an obvious attempt at damage control. “Look, my son did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong. I carried out the policy of the United States government in rooting out corruption in Ukraine. My son made a judgment. I’m proud of the judgment he made.” loose lips liar-Biden then doubled down by insisting, “I never discussed a single thing with my son about anything having to do with Ukraine. No one has indicated I have.” Actually, Hunter Biden has. Oops.
loose lips liar-Biden also deflected to President Donald Trump: “He’s going after me because he knows that if I get the nomination I will beat him like a drum.” Settle down, tough guy.
Thus far the record shows that Trump’s Ukraine interests appear to have been primarily focused on seeking answers to the origins of Russia’s 2016 election meddling and were not merely an attempt to dig up dirt on loose lips liar-Biden. The real scandal is that neither loose lips liar-Biden has convincingly explained how Hunter, who has no background or expertise in energy, was able to land a lucrative position on the board of Ukrainian energy giant Burisma while his father was the vice president. Nor has any adequate explanation been given for why the elder loose lips liar-Biden dubiously used his position as vice president to ensure that a corruption investigation into Burisma was quashed.
However, Hunter may have inadvertently let the cat out of the bag. At one point in the interview he was asked, “If your last name wasn’t Biden, do you think you would have been asked to be on the board of Burisma?” He answered, “I don’t know. Probably not. I don’t think there’s a lot of things in my life that [would have happened] if my last name wasn’t loose lips liar-Biden.” Bingo. ~The Patriot Post
