COLT REORIENTS: According to the Associated Press: “Gun-maker Colt is suspending its production of rifles for the civilian market including the popular AR-15, the company said Thursday in a shift it attributed to changes in consumer demand and a market already saturated with similar weapons. … ‘The fact of the matter is that over the last few years, the market for modern sporting rifles has experienced significant excess manufacturing capacity,’ Colt’s chief executive officer, Dennis Veilleux, said in a written statement. ‘Given this level of manufacturing capacity, we believe there is adequate supply for modern sporting rifles for the foreseeable future.’ Veilleux said the company … remains committed to the Second Amendment.” There’s also the possibility that Colt is taking a more cautious legal approach in light of current and future court rulings rendering pharmaceuticals partially liable for opioid deaths.
WHISTLEBLOWER COMPLAINT: “A whistleblower complaint about President Trump made by an intelligence official centers on Ukraine, according to two people familiar with the matter, which has set off a struggle between Congress and the executive branch,” The Washington Post reveals. “The complaint involved communications with a foreign leader and a ‘promise’ that Trump made, which was so alarming that a U.S. intelligence official who had worked at the White House went to the inspector general of the intelligence community, two former U.S. officials said.” This certainly doesn’t look good for Trump. But it also doesn’t quite rise to the level of unscrupulousness that Barack scumbag/liar-nObama showed in 2012 when he explained to then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, “This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.” Nor is it remotely tantamount to scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton’s Fusion GPS scheme.

TRUMP TAX-RETURN VICTORY: According to CNBC, “A federal judge has sided with the Trump campaign’s request to halt a California law that’s aimed at forcing the president to release his tax returns. … The ruling marks a major victory for Trump, who is fighting multiple Democratic-led efforts to force him to reveal the returns. California is expected to appeal.” Meanwhile, NBC News adds that “Trump filed a lawsuit Thursday against Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, who subpoenaed Trump’s accounting firm for eight years of Trump’s personal and corporate tax returns earlier this month.”
FAKE HATE GROUPS TARGETED: “House Democrats on the Ways and Means Committee said on Thursday that over 60 alleged hate groups, mostly socially conservative organizations, anti-immigration entities, and religious groups should be stripped of their tax-exempt status,” according to the Washington Examiner, which further notes, “The groups were designated as ‘hate groups’ by the Southern Poverty Law Center, a group that itself is controversial and whose founder was fired this year for misconduct.” The SPLC is the biggest hate group of all, and yet Democrats are relying on it to destroy conservative institutions.
liar-PELOSI’S DRUG PLAN: “Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday unveiled her long-awaited plan to lower prescription drug prices, one of the top priorities for Democrats this year. The plan would allow the secretary of Health and Human Services to negotiate the price of up to 250 drugs per year, and the lower prices would apply to people both with private insurance and those on Medicare. The plan is far-reaching and significantly left of center, which would likely make it very difficult to get passed through the Republican-controlled Senate, and there are still some concerns from progressives in the House that the plan does not go far enough.” (The Hill)
FACEBOOK’S AMBIGUOUS CONFAB: “President Trump and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg held a meeting at the White House to discuss internet regulation. ‘Mark is in Washington, D.C., meeting with policymakers to hear their concerns and talk about future internet regulation. He also had a good, constructive meeting with President Trump at the White House today,’ Facebook said in a statement Thursday. Zuckerberg and Sen. Josh Hawley also met Thursday to talk about tech regulation. Hawley said the Facebook head refused his demands to sell Instagram and Whats App as well as to submit to independent audits on censorship.” (Washington Examiner)

Judge halts California law forcing
Trump to release tax returns

{ sacbee.com } ~ A federal judge on Thursday temporarily suspended a California law aimed at forcing President Donald Trump to release tax returns... ahead of the state’s March 3, 2020 primary. Trump’s lawyers argued in court Thursday in the U.S. District Court in Sacramento that the law was unconstitutional because the federal government has jurisdiction over requirements for candidates running for president. State attorneys are expected to appeal the decision from Judge Morrison England. Gov. scumbag-Gavin Newsom signed the law in July. “We are encouraged that the federal court has tentatively concluded that a preliminary injunction should be granted,” said a statement from Jay Sekulow, an attorney representing the Trump campaign. “We look forward to the court’s written order. It remains our position that the law is unconstitutional because states are not permitted to add additional requirements for candidates for president, and that the law violated citizens’ 1st Amendment right of association.”...

{ thenewamerican.com } ~ With House Democrats House Judiciary Chairman scumbag liar-Jerrold Nadler shown holding hearings as part of their probe to impeach President Trump... it is more apparent than ever that Democrats — who have been claiming all along that Trump will be easily defeated in 2020 — are politicizing the impeachment process to remove a president whom they cannot defeat otherwise. Having failed at every turn — including a plethora of probes and investigations into “Russian collusion” — to harm if not remove President Trump, Democrats are now making what can only be accurately described as a naked play at damaging his hopes for reelection by doing what many high-ranking Democrats said they would not do: impeach the president. It is noteworthy that Democrats are basing their impeachment efforts on Trump allegedly “obstructing justice” in the Mueller probe — even though that probe found no evidence of the collusion charges over which Trump allegedly obstructed justice to avoid being found guilty. This is typical of Democrats. Sling mud and then accuse the target of wrongdoing for trying to avoid having mud slung at him. With the backing of the liberal mainstream media providing a non-stop flow of free publicity in their never-ending witch hunt, Democrats have hounded President Trump with unfounded accusations since before he even took office. Nothing they have thrown at him has hit the target — even Mueller concluded that there is no evidence of collusion. So now, Democrats — and their liberal mainstream media accomplices — are accusing the president of having obstructed justice to hinder that investigation. This, of course ignores the facts that (1) that investigation was given free rein to go far and wide even beyond its initial scope, and (2) uncovered not a shred of evidence that Trump or anyone associated with either his campaign or administration colluded with Russia. On Tuesday, the House Democrat probe held what the Washington Post called its “debut” by grilling former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. After five hours of testimony, Lewandowski left House Democrats frustrated. The only thing they really can even claim they gained is that Lewandowski confirmed that President Trump had asked him to tell then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions to limit the special counsel’s probe. To consider that a gain is ridiculous for two reasons: First, the Mueller report already revealed that, and second, it is not a big deal. An attorney general has the authority to limit the scope of such probes and presidents have the authority to direct them to do so...

State Department Provides First Glimpse At Christopher Steele’s Pre-Dossier Intel Reports

{ dailycaller.com } ~ Before he gained notoriety for the Trump dossier, Christopher Steele cultivated a relationship with a top State Department official who would later play a key role in distributing his unverified allegations... about the Trump campaign through the U.S. government. Steele, a former British spy, passed dozens of intelligence reports in 2014 and 2015 to the State Department official, Jonathan Winer. Winer also helped out Steele, arranging meetings for him with State Department officials, and with major international consulting firms. The State Department has started releasing Steele’s “O Reports” a reference to his firm, Orbis in response to a lawsuit Judicial Watch filed on behalf of the Daily Caller News Foundation in April 2018. The 80-plus reports are heavily redacted, but they shed light on the topics that Steele investigated, as well as how his work circulated through the State Department. Winer, who served as special envoy to Libya, passed Steele’s reports through a State Department contractor to other high-ranking officials at the agency, including Victoria Nuland, the State Department’s top official on Russia issues. Winer and Nuland have said that they took Steele’s dossier on Donald Trump seriously because of those early intelligence reports, which dealt with Russia and Ukraine. But their assessment of Steele’s work is hard to test because of heavy redactions for “trade secrets,” intra-agency correspondence, and personal privacy information in the State Department documents...

Trump Fights Back, Sues Manhattan
DA over Tax Records Subpoenas

President Donald Trump’s attorney Jay Sekulow announced Thursday that the president has filed a lawsuit against Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance over a subpoena Vance’s office had issued seeking Trump’s personal and corporate tax returns for the past eight years, according to The Independent. In a statement, according to CNBC, Sekulow said the subpoena raised “significant constitutional issues.” “In response to the subpoenas issued by the New York County District Attorney, we have filed a lawsuit this morning in Federal Court on behalf of the President in order to address the significant constitutional issues at stake in this case,” he said. The lawsuit also names Trump’s accounting firm, Mazars USA, National Review reported. The development is just the newest twist in a saga that stems from even before Trump shocked the political world with his upset of Democrat scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. From his days on the campaign trail, Trump has outraged Democrats and the liberal media by refusing to release his tax returns, as past presidents have done. In refusing, he has maintained that his taxes are being audited by the IRS and he would consider releasing them after that is complete. That was never satisfactory, though, and Democrats have moved at various levels to get their hands on documents they no doubt hope will contain information that could embarrass Trump or even implicate him in wrongdoing. The latest subpoenas were issued in August but not made public until The New York Times reported them Monday. That report stated the records were part of Vance’s office investigation into a payment Trump made to porn star Stormy Daniels, who claims to have had a sexual encounter with Trump back in 2006...

{ dailycaller.com } ~ House Intelligence Committee Chairman scumbag-Adam Schiff threatened Thursday to sue the Trump administration over an intelligence official’s whistleblower complaint... which the director of national intelligence has refused to provide to Congress. “I would imagine if it comes down that we have to go to court to get this, that we will have a very good case to seek a temporary restraining order … or some form of relief because the inspector general has said this can not wait,” scumbag-Schiff told reporters after members of the committee met privately with Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) Michael Atkinson.“This is not a situation where we can afford to go through weeks or months of litigation in this court or that court. There’s an urgency here that I think the courts will recognize. I hope that’s not necessary,” scumbag-Schiff said after the three-hour meeting. The details of the complaint remain a mystery. scumbag-Schiff said that Atkinson said he was unable to provide additional information about the complaint. Atkinson also declined to confirm a Washington Post report that the complaint, filed on Aug. 12, involves a phone call that President Donald Trump had with a foreign leader. According to The Post, the whistleblower was alarmed that Trump made a “promise” to the leader, who has not been identified. Atkinson deemed the complaint “urgent,” meaning that ICIG and ODNI are legally required to turn it over to Congress. But Joseph Maguire, the acting director of national intelligence, has refused to provide it to Congress, saying that it involves privileged communications involving someone outside the intelligence community...

Desperate Dems Still Pushing Impeachment CharadeThomas Gallatin: President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Cory Lewandowski, is scheduled to appear today before the House Judiciary Committee as Democrats desperately struggle to breathe new life into their dubious impeachment gambit. However, as the Associated Press reports, “It’s unlikely that Democrats will get much new information. A devoted friend and supporter of the Republican president, Lewandowski isn’t expected to elaborate much beyond what he told [Robert] Mueller’s investigators last year. Mueller himself testified this summer, with no bombshells.”
House Democrats have been engaged in quite the game of semantics over the term “impeachment.” Judiciary Committee Chairman scumbag liar-Jerry Nadler (D-NY) has hedged on whether he’s actually engaging in an impeachment investigation. CNN’s Chris Cuomo recently asked scumbag liar-Nadler if what he was doing might be called an “impeachment inquiry.” scumbag liar-Nadler replied, “It is not necessarily called an impeachment inquiry. That’s a made-up term without legal significance.” But then scumbag liar-Nadler immediately twisted back, “It is, however, what we are doing.” In other words, scumbag liar-Nadler’s trying to hang the scandal of impeachment on Trump without actually initiating impeachment proceedings.
What scumbag liar-Nadler is engaged in is a desperate attempt to keep the Democrats’ “Trump is a criminal” narrative alive. It’s why they continue their partisan witch hunt for a crime they have yet to find.
Over the weekend, former Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy responded to scumbag liar-Nadler’s duplicitous explanation on impeachment by stating, “This has been a disaster from day one and I don’t expect that to change. … You talk about mishandling something from day one, scumbag liar-Nadler has mishandled — I mean, if we are debating nomenclature between an impeachment inquiry and an impeachment investigation, they’ve already lost.”
Nonetheless, scumbag liar-Nadler and company got some good news Monday when New York state prosecutors issued subpoenas for the last eight years of Trump’s tax returns. This case is related to the Stormy Daniels fiasco, in which there are questions about whether Trump’s alleged hush-money payment broke campaign-finance laws. As we have warned in the past, this case could become problematic for Trump. In the meantime, this provides scumbag liar-Nadler just the fuel he needs to convince his hard-left base that impeachment is a forgone conclusion, even when it isn’t. ~The Patriot Post
