Left Out a Narrative-Ending Piece of Information

{ westernjournal.com } ~ The New York Times desperately tried to paint President Donald Trump as an incompetent businessman for his losses from 1985 to 1994... but left out information about New York City’s own real estate crash. Trump was one of the countless businessmen caught up in the New York City real estate crash that started in 1988, according to a study from the Furman Center for Real Estate & Urban Policy. “Along with the rest of the country, New York entered a downturn at the end of the 1980s. Citywide, prices fell by nearly 30%, more than twice the drop witnessed between 1974 and 1980, and even in Manhattan prices fell significantly,” the study said.“Nearly every major firm has laid off real estate investment bankers to rein in costs as deals dried up,” the Times reported in 1991. “Last year Morgan Stanley, Salomon Brothers and Merrill Lynch pared down the size of their real estate groups.” “Even Goldman, which has dominated the business on Wall Street, is telling many of its real estate bankers to look for new jobs.” This is extremely important information to note when discussing Trump’s taxes from that period, but the Times deceived their readers by omitting these key details. “Mr. Trump was propelled to the presidency, in part, by a self-spun narrative of business success and of setbacks triumphantly overcome,” the Times reported Wednesday. “He has attributed his first run of reversals and bankruptcies to the recession that took hold in 1990. But 10 years of tax information obtained by The New York Times paints a different, and far bleaker, picture of his deal-making abilities and financial condition.” It’s common knowledge, however, that Trump’s businesses slumped through those decades.Trump even wrote a book, “Trump: The Art of the Comeback,” about how he recovered from his financial struggles....

FBI’s Response Is Just Plain Crooked

{ westernjournal.com } ~ Attorney General William Barr’s proposed investigation into the events surrounding the 2016 presidential campaign might have just gotten easier... And for President Donald Trump supporters who have long disdained the whole idea of “Russian collusion,” the picture might be a lot clearer. But for the FBI — both its former leadership and its current director — things might have just gotten a lot worse. According to a report Tuesday by The Hill’s John Solomon, a State Department memo regarding former British spy Christopher Steele and his work for an unnamed client leading up to the 2016 election makes it crystal clear that FBI officials had to know Steele was working on behalf of the scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton campaign when they received a copy of the infamous “Steele dossier” from the State Department in October 2016, before Americans even went to the polls. Yet the bureau still used the dossier to obtain surveillance warrants for Trump campaign associate Carter Page — and by extension the Trump campaign — under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. According to Solomon, the memo was forced into public view through legal action by the conservative group Citizens United. Written by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec, according to Solomon, the memo was a summary of an Oct. 11, 2016, meeting between Kavalec, Steele and Tatyana Duran, a colleague of Steele’s at the Orbis Security firm Steele founded. According to Solomon, the notes — including the names of whoever they were intended for — are heavily redacted, on suspicious security grounds we’ll get to in a minute. But even so, they all but scream that Steele was an operative for the scumbag/liar-Clinton campaign and the Democratic Party, and that his employers were desperate for some way to smear Trump before Election Day arrived....

{ bizpacreview.com } ~ Who knew it would come to this? Illegal immigrants who have two-year work permits under DACA have now been admitted to the bar to practice law in several states... The latest state to admit an illegal immigrant is Oklahoma, whose bar association recently admitted Javier Hernandez, who came to the United States illegally from Mexico with his family when he was a child. The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) called it “utterly mind-boggling” that bar associations in some states are now willing to admit illegal aliens “who have begun their relationship with the United States via a blatant violation of U.S. law.” “This is especially shocking when one takes into account the fact that U.S. citizen attorneys are regularly disbarred for relatively minor offenses,” FAIR said in a statement to BizPacReview this week. “It is apparent to FAIR – and we believe it should be apparent even to the casual observer – that one who is essentially a trespasser, unlawfully present in the United States, is in no position to be an ethical practitioner of the law.” DACA, which stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, was introduced by former president Barack scumbag/liar-nObama in 2012. It “defers” deportation for people brought to the United States illegally when they were children, and awards them two-year work permits and Social Security numbers for the purpose of work. But it doesn’t change a person’s status, and there is no path to citizenship. The DACA recipients are still illegal aliens. And many, according to immigration experts, committed multiple felonies in order to work before DACA, including Social Security fraud, perjury on the I-9 form and identity theft. But under the DACA rules, only those who have been convicted of a felony are disqualified, and the federal government has chosen to turn a blind eye to crimes a person committed before DACA...

commie-AOC Parody Account
Thomas Gallatin: In the latest episode in the Left’s increasing suppression of free speech, Twitter on Monday suddenly banned a popular commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez parody account known as commie-AOC Press. The satire account, which poked fun at the leftist representative, had swollen to over 85,000 followers and was a favorite for our own Short Cuts features at the point of its permanent suspension. The question everyone asked following the ban was why it happened, since commie-AOC Press had been in full compliance with Twitter’s service rules. Given her poor handling of criticism, it’s not unthinkable that commie-AOC herself complained.
Twitter dubiously claimed the reason behind the ban was its rule on fake accounts: “You may not register or create fake and misleading accounts. While you may use Twitter pseudonymously or as a parody, commentary, or fan account, you may not use misleading account information in order to engage in spamming, abusive, or disruptive behavior, including attempts to manipulate the conversations on Twitter.” A section of rules was also highlighted noting that a user cannot “post duplicative or substantially similar content, replies, or mentions over multiple accounts or multiple duplicate updates on one account, or create duplicate or substantially similar accounts.” Twitter rules require all parody accounts to indicate “non-affiliation” in both the account name and bio — rules commie-AOC Press followed.
The individual who created the commie-AOC parody account, Mike Morrison, also had his personal Twitter account permanently removed. Morrison argues the reason behind the ban was purely political: “I think Twitter banned commie-AOC Press for the increasing amounts of attention it’s been receiving lately. In the past month and a half alone the account grew by roughly 50,000 followers. We’ve had tweets with over 30,000 likes on them, so I think Twitter decided it was time for [the account] to go. They didn’t like how popular an account created by their political opposition had become.”
It’s difficult to argue against Morrison’s conclusion, as Twitter has clearly not applied the same standard to several other accounts that parody President Donald Trump. Parody account Donald J. Drumpf, for example, tweeted, “Many people, including 370 former federal prosecutors, are saying I’m guilty of obstruction. But my hand-picked Attorney General says I’m above the law so #BothSides! #Winning.”
Regarding social media in general, National Review’s David French astutely observes, “Hate-speech policies exist not as easily interpreted, uniformly applied rules that provide all users fair notice of the conditions for using the platforms, but rather as subjectively interpreted, selectively applied weapons to wield on behalf of favored ideas and individuals. The result is that some people are more exposed to abuse than others because those people are deemed less worthy of protection.” ~The Patriot Post
