liar-Clinton's Phony 'Random Audience Member'
We all know that presidential campaigns are scripted and staged to whatever extent a candidate can control it. liar-Hillary Clinton is perhaps better at this than most. Heck, she got the questions in advance for an interview with daytime talk-show host Steve Harvey — not exactly a deep-digging journalist. But even when real journalists are asking the questions, they're liar-Clinton's biggest enablers, asking softball questions and applauding the candidate. In short, they serve as her biggest super PAC.
The latest evidence of this scripting comes from a town hall in Haverford, Pennsylvania, where liar-Clinton staged a question from a "random" girl in the audience ... who just happened to be a child actor. And whose father just happens to be a Democrat Pennsylvania state senator. Brennan Leach reads from a cue card (unlike other questioners) to ask about girls' body image and how liar-Clinton would undo the damage done by Donald Trump's habit of saying mean things about women. liar-Clinton acts surprised and grateful, but she knows her daughter Chelsea, seated right next to her, will also want to address the question. She then used it as an excuse to re-highlight her debate attack regarding Trump and Miss Universe, which the Leftmedia gleefully trumpeted. We're still waiting for the question from a young girl wondering why anyone would trust the liar-Clintons after Bill's history of sexual assault and their own general war on women. ~The Patriot Post

Yahoo and the Eyes on Your Email
Michael Swartz: This week we learned that people with Yahoo email accounts had their messages subject to scrutiny at the behest of the federal government — all in the name of national security. The story, as told by "people familiar with the matter," is that Yahoo complied with a classified government directive to search for specific information, termed in the Reuters story as a "set of characters" in any emails.
This eavesdropping began in April 2015 and was facilitated once Yahoo engineers created a software program intended to flag emails with these strings of characters. The program was kept so secret within Yahoo that weeks after it went online, Yahoo security engineers, who had been excluded from the process, believed their servers had been hacked. Eventually, Yahoo's Chief Information Security Officer, Alex Stamos, resigned over being left out of the loop on the decision by Chief Executive Marissa Mayer and General Counsel Ron Bell.
Given these allegations, Yahoo has been roundly criticized by privacy advocates who believe the company could have fought the directive — in fact, Yahoo called the original Reuters story "misleading" and denied the existence of the government-requested software program on its systems.
However, Yahoo may have cooperated because they recalled the prospect of $250,000 per day fines threatened by the federal government back in 2008 when the PRISM program to spy on online communications was introduced. While Microsoft, Google, and other online providers refused to comply with this more recent government directive — with many of these companies now exhibiting a holier-than-thou attitude — it's worth remembering that they all knuckled under to the PRISM program, so we know they can be bought, too.
Some, though, may agree there's a legitimate point to be made about the trifling and infrequent loss of privacy an average law-abiding citizen could reasonably expect from a program looking for specific indicators and character strings when compared to its usefulness to national security. We may want and still expect our conversations to be private, but we also have to ponder just how much privacy can be expected with email at all given the ease and frequency at which servers are hacked these days — including Yahoo's. And it may not just be email. Consider the fact that Yahoo's Internet operations are being bought out by Verizon, which adds millions of consumers to the mix.
Yet there is the overarching civil liberty question to consider as well: When does the spying transcend national security and become a tool for harassment of certain groups? Recall that this administration has used the IRS to target certain political entities, but looked the other way when a former secretary of state subjected herself to multiple security breaches by using her own email server.
In short, we have a situation full of what former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld termed "known unknowns": We're certain that the federal government is keeping tabs on our electronic communications, but we're generally clueless to the extent of that intrusion. We may or may not be affected directly, but indirectly we're either benefiting from the additional security we receive against the risk of terrorism and/or we're suffering from the loss of the expectation of privacy, a phenomenon that is doubly severe when the current climate of political intolerance is factored in.
Perhaps the best way to proceed in these times is with the common sense to know that once something is on the Internet or in an email, it's going to be there forever — so think before you write. You never know who might be reading it. ~The Patriot Post.

There are many who've labeled a recent action in Kansas City as some sort of submission to Islamic supremacy... As reported by WND.com, "One of the nation's largest school districts has adopted a resolution banning "hateful speech" against Muslim students while accusing America of having "a long history of racism and xenophobia." The controversial resolution, unanimously approved by the Kansas City Board of Education on Sept. 28, states that there are 30,000 Muslims living in the greater Kansas City area, "making invaluable contributions to our economy, our social and political life, and our culture." Someone who dies of cancer in the hospital receives a death certificate stating the disease... A soldier killed in the line of duty receives a posthumous commendation explaining the circumstances of his death, and a mother who dies during childbirth has this written up in her medical records before being sent to the morgue. When my former fiancé, Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens died, I wanted to know why, when and how. I did not try to assess blame; I needed the answers to process my grief. Many people who have lost loved ones will understand this. I suppose that is one reason why we have accountability for death caused by criminal intent. When a loved one is the victim of a hit-and-run, the authorities and public do everything to locate the killer and provide other details about what occurred. But when a U.S. Ambassador was murdered in a remote city in the Middle East, the President did not allow that to upset his plans. Instead, he flew from Washington to Las Vegas the next day for a fundraiser. We should not be surprised then that no one has been helpful at getting to the truth about what happened to Chris Stevens and why. Washington Post Gives Cover to Voter Fraud

Now the Washington Post has stooped to giving cover to voter fraud in American elections. Specifically, the Post has “An Alien Invasion in the Old Dominion?” by Peter Galuszka. They conveniently answer the question for readers just below the headline: “A new report claims boldly —- and wrongly —- that non-citizens are registered to vote.” It’s the Post that got it wrong. The Post refers to this report by the Public Interest Legal Foundation which released government documents showing that election officials in just eight Virginia counties removed in excess of 1,000 from voting rolls for citizenship problems, and that many of them cast ballots. Remember, Virginia is where the current attorney general won power by a couple of hundred votes out of 4,000,000 cast. Theism professes one God created the universe, intervenes in it, and sustains a personal relationship with humanity. Science doesn’t look for meaning. Meaning is irrelevant. Unless one embraces religion, nihilism is the default position. Meaningful or meaningless? Western culture is in conflict, and in the early 21st century, nihilism prevails. As I contended in last week’s column, many see the west as post-Christian and maybe they’re right.
Whenever a new principal came along, I’d get a visit. He/she would ask me about my “Beginnings” unit in which I outlined different explanations about the origin of the universe and of humanity, comparing and contrasting the fading creation narrative and the prevailing big bang/evolution account. It was controversial, they said, and they asked me to drop it. I pointed to the Scopes Monkey Trial covered in the text, and that teaching about evolution was as controversial during the early years of the 20th century as teaching about creation had become in the later years. As the K-12 curriculum in our district existed then, only in a high school elective were some taught the Big Bang Theory. Only in Sunday school were some taught the creation story. Near the end of my career I had some students had never heard of Adam and Eve, for example.
The way Americans understood their origins affected how they perceived other issues, I argued. One principal told me he got flak from both sides: Progressives claimed I taught creation. Jehovah Witnesses complained I taught evolution. I didn’t teach either. I taught about both, and encouraged students to take a position. Some years we conducted formal debates. Students asked me throughout what my position was but I’d demur until the end. Then I’d tell them mine is the Catholic position under which the creation and Big Bang/evolution accounts are not mutually exclusive, but complementary.
Each principal relented and I went on with my Beginnings unit — until September 11, 2001. As part of a current events lesson, I was writing the word “jihad” on the board, explaining to students why Palestinian Muslim suicide bombers were blowing themselves up to kill Jews in Israel when Principal Joe Soraghan knocked on my door. It was about 9:15 am and he motioned for me to step into the hallway. Two planes had hit the World Trade Center, he told me, and that changed everything. Jihad had come to America.
Each September for the next eight years, I’d start with a unit on why we were at war — why radical Muslims wanted to kill American Jews, Christians and atheists. Instead of comparing and contrasting creation and evolution, we instead compared and contrasted Judaism, Christianity, and Islam — in that order, because that’s the order in which each was established — approximately 2500 BC, 1 AD, and 600 AD, respectively. All three share the same creation story. Abraham is a patriarch in all three as well. Christians believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, but neither Jews nor Muslims do — and so on. We were at war because Muhammed instructed Muslims to convert the world to Islam — by the sword if necessary. That they did until early in the 20th century, and many were resuming in the 21st — and that’s why we were at war. It was the end of one controversial unit and the beginning of another.
Jews established the State of Israel after the Holocaust — which has ultimate meaning for them, and they’re willing to die for it. Radical Muslims deny the Holocaust and vow to wipe Israel, which they call “The Little Satan,” off the map — then destroy America, which they call “The Great Satan.” Those goals are meaningful enough that they’re willing to kill and die for them.
When Martin Luther Day came around in January, I’d quote what he said in a 1963 speech:
“I submit to you that if a man hasn't discovered something he will die for, he isn't fit to live.”
“I submit to you that if a man hasn't discovered something he will die for, he isn't fit to live.”
Then I’d ask each of my four classes if there were anything they would die for. Only about ten to twenty percent could think of anything. When I asked those few, they said they were willing to die for their families. One said he would die for his cat. Most couldn’t think of anything at all. Are they representative of the rest of America? How many of us have discovered something meaningful enough to die for in this age of existential nihilism?
Existential nihilism (Wikipedia): “the philosophical theory that life has no intrinsic meaning or value. With respect to the universe, existential nihilism posits that a single human or even the entire human species is insignificant, without purpose and unlikely to change in the totality of existence.”
