Solomon […] Kavalec, two days later and well before the FISA warrant was issued, forwarded her typed summary to other government officials. The State Department has redacted the names and agencies of everyone she alerted. It is unlikely that her concerns failed to reach the FBI.

reporter Jeremy Scahill

The reporter that Hale leaked this information to is not named in the indictment, but the charging document identifies him as Jeremy Scahill of the Intercept, an outspoken critic of America’s military activities overseas. Hale "printed off a series of Secret and Top Secret documents through his position with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, many of which he then provided to the reporter." The day that Hale is alleged to have met with the reporter at the reporter’s bookstore event, April 29, 2013, is the same day Scahill held a discussion and signing for his book Dirty Wars at Busboys and Poets in Washington, D.C. The indictment states that in May 2013 Hale said the reporter “wants me to tell my story about working with drones at the opening screening of his documentary about the war and the use of drones." Scahill’s book accompanied a 2013 documentary of the same name that was critical of secretive U.S. military operations, including drone warfare. The indictment states that Hale again met the reporter at another book event on June 8, 2013 — the same day Scahill was hosted at Busboys & Poets for another discussion about Dirty Wars. The indictment states that many of the classified documents were disclosed in an October 2015 news article. On Oct.15, 2015, Scahill published an article on the Intercept entitled “The Assassination Complex” and cited “a cache of secret slides that provides a window into the inner workings of the U.S. military’s kill/capture operations at a key time in the evolution of the drone wars.”...

Top Dems Now Have Access to All But Two Full, Seven Partial Lines of dirty cop-Mueller’s Obstruction Report
by Jack Crowe it’s worth remembering that he has made available to top Democrats the entirety of volume II of the dirty cop-Mueller report, save for two full and seven partial lines, which were redacted to protect grand jury secrecy in keeping with federal law. In order to provide lawmakers with greater transparency into special counsel dirty cop-Robert Mueller’s investigation, the Department of Justice placed a less-redacted version of his report in a secure room on Capitol Hill, and granted access to that room to congressional leaders of both parties, as well as the chairmen and ranking members of intelligence and judiciary committees in the House and Senate. As of this writing, not one of the six Democrats granted access to what amounts to 99.9 percent of volume II of the dirty cop-Mueller report, which details the president’s behavior as it relates to obstruction of justice, have taken the opportunity to examine it. If they had, they could have viewed the entirety of dirty cop-Mueller’s obstruction case against Trump except for the following seven redactions, two of which are applied to footnotes. In response to Barr’s offer, Congressional Democrats have said that the full report should be made available to all lawmakers and have argued that outcome will become less likely if top congressmen view the less-redacted version. “Every member of Congress ought to be able to see that version,” Mark Warner, ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, told our own John McCormack. “I think if I were to go, you’d lessen the case.” But Democratic leaders are not asking for “that version,” which retains its grand jury redactions; they are asking, and subpoenaed for, a fully unredacted report and all of the millions of pages of underlying documentary evidence, which relate to 22 ongoing criminal investigations...

The White House confirmed the tweet. "Based upon his outstanding service to the Country and his demonstrated ability to lead, President Trump intends to nominate Patrick M. Shanahan to be the Secretary of Defense," White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement released on Twitter. "Acting Secretary Shanahan has proven over the last several months that he is beyond qualified to lead the Department of Defense, and he will continue to do an excellent job," Sanders said. Shanahan took over as acting secretary after James Mattis resigned his position earlier this year.

A lucrative arrangement for China which was inked during the scumbag/liar-nObama era has now been dismantled, after the Trump administration raised red flags over the prospect of the Chinese government controlling a U.S. port. According to the South China Morning Post, the major issue is that Orient Overseas International — a company controlled by the Chinese government via a company called Cosco — owned the Long Beach Container Terminal in California. The Cosco shipping company is based out of Shanghai and is not to be confused with the U.S. wholesaler Costco. This means that a major U.S. port was potentially under Beijing’s thumb — a situation that caused alarm bells to go off in Washington. The 2017 sale of Orient Overseas International to Cosco “raised a red flag with US security agencies, which were unhappy with the idea of a state-owned firm taking indirect ownership of a major port. Cosco now owns 75 per cent of OOIL,” explained The Morning Post. As a result, the Department of Homeland Security stepped in and pushed the Chinese conglomerate to sell the massive shipping terminal in California to “a suitable, unrelated third party” not controlled by China. On Tuesday, that buyer was revealed as Macquarie Infrastructure Partners, which is based in Australia. That means that China-controlled Orient Overseas’ 40-year lease signed during the scumbag/liar-nObama administration has been effectively torn up. “The scumbag/liar-nObama administration had no problems with OOCL signing a 40-year lease with the City of Long Beach in 2012 for control of America’s second largest and most automated container handling operation,” American Thinker pointed out on Tuesday...

Climate Anxiety': There's a Guide for That (Seriously)Jordan Candler: A conciliatory CNN report this week touches on the issue of so-called “climate anxiety,” which apparently is becoming widespread. The first paragraph of the report introduces a Willamette University student who “woke at 2 a.m. and then cried for two solid hours about the warming ocean.” That student’s climate professor, Wendy Petersen Boring, asserts, “Back in 2007, [climate change] was the mouse in the room; then, it became the elephant in the room. By 2016, those concerns and fears began to flood over.”
The report goes on to cite a 69-page American Psychological Association/ecoAmerica climate guide published in March 2017 that tenders ways to ameliorate the effects of environmental anxiety. According to the guide, “This … report is intended to further inform and empower health and medical professionals, community and elected leaders, and the public.”
CNN fans the flames by claiming, “Higher temperatures alone have led to more suicides and increased psychiatric hospitalization and have hurt our sleep, which can also harm mental health. These problems will get worse as the temperature continues to rise, research shows.” With statements like that, it’s little wonder students think the sky is falling.
Fact check: It’s not. As veteran meteorologist Joe Bastardi has pointed out time and again, our standard of living and gross domestic product on a global scale has never been better because of fossil fuels. Taking those away hastily is a recipe for disaster.
Of course, not everyone is victimized by “climate anxiety.” In March, Gallup reported that 66% of Americans are convinced global warming is man-made. That said, “Fewer than half of Americans — 45% — think global warming will pose a serious threat in their own lifetime and 44% say they worry a great deal about it. Another 21% worry a fair amount about global warming, while about a third (35%) worry only a little or not at all.”
But even that worry seems to become less so come voting time. After every election, climate change as a preeminent issue ends up ranking fairly low among voters. It’s good that at least some people get their priorities straight before casting their votes.
Which bring us to the final point. Tellingly, Gallup also reports, “In terms of demographic differences, there is a 20-percentage-point spread between the youngest and oldest Americans in those classified as Concerned Believers: 67% of those 18 to 29 vs. 47% of those 65 and older. Additionally, only 7% of young adults meet the definition of Cool Skeptics, compared with 22% of seniors.”
Younger generations are more prone to believe climate-change alarmism thanks to our modern-day leftist education complex. Older generations, on the other hand, have lived long enough to know that a plethora of climate doomsday scenarios haven’tunfolded. Propaganda and pollaganda are powerful tools. And for that, we should all be extremely anxious for our future. ~The Patriot Post
