New Report Confirms Our Military’s Strength Has Eroded

{dailysignal.com} ~ Americans often assume their military is the strongest in the world, capable of handling any threats that come its way... But a new report by the National Defense Strategy Commission challenges that idea. It points out how significantly the U.S. military has deteriorated, placing the U.S. in an increasingly precarious position compared to its potential adversaries. Congress created the bipartisan commission in July 2017 with national security experts appointed by members from both sides of the aisle. Eric Edelman, former ambassador and undersecretary of defense, and Gary Roughead, retired chief of naval operations, co-chaired it, leading a strong team of experts in defense and national security. The commission did an admirable job assessing the national defense strategy and the underlying issues that could jeopardize its execution. It assessed areas from the ability of the military to recruit new volunteers to cyber warfare, to the nuclear deterrent. Unfortunately, in all these areas, the commission found looming problems that need urgent attention. Palm Beach misses Florida recount deadline, 

reports Saturday's tally

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ At least one Florida county missed a 3 p.m. deadline to conduct a machine recount for two key statewide races... Palm Beach County reported Saturday’s unofficial results in both races, elections supervisor Susan Bucher told reporters. “We gave it a heroic effort,” she told the press. “We were timed out.”Bucher’s announcement comes after federal District Court Judge Mark Walker declined a request by Sen. scumbag-Bill Nelson, the Democratic incumbent, to delay the deadline. scumbag-Nelson had been trailing Republican Gov. Rick Scott in the U.S. Senate race by about 12,500 votes. After the state assesses the machine recount, a manual recount is likely to begin because the two candidates are expected to be less than .25 percent apart in votes. Bucher told reporters earlier in the week the machine tabulators used to recount the ballots were overheating and producing erroneous vote totals. The machines were turned off overnight and restarted Thursday morning but could not complete the recount on time.

{nationalreview.com} ~ Senator lowlife-Kamala Harris of California on Thursday compared contemporary public perceptions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)... to the way in which the American public perceived the Ku Klux Klan in the early part of the 20th century.  lowlife-Harris, a staunch advocate of more permissive immigration policy, made the comparison while questioning Ronald Vitiello, President Trump’s nominee to lead ICE, during his confirmation hearing. She began the line of questioning by citing Vitiello’s use of the term “neo-Klanist” in a 2015 tweet, which he applied to Democrats in order to highlight the party’s role in advancing segregationist policies during the 19th and 20th centuries. She then sought to apply Vitiello’s characterization of twentieth century Democrats to the agency he has been nominated to lead. “Are you aware of the perception of many about how the power and the discretion at ICE is being used to enforce the laws and do you see any parallels?” she asked. “I do not see any parallels,” Vitiello interjected. “That puts ICE in the same category as the KKK. {thepoliticalinsider.com} ~ A federal judge rejected a push by Democratic Florida Sen. scumbag-Bill Nelson to extend the machine recount deadline in a Thursday ruling... in which the judge labeled Florida a “laughingstock” because of its election failures. “We have been the laughingstock of the world, election after election, and we chose not to fix this,” U.S. District Judge Mark Walker said in the ruling, which he handed down on the same afternoon that Florida’s Palm Beach County missed the machine recount deadline at 3 p.m. Thursday.Walker decided that Florida’s 67 counties will still have to submit machine recount results at 3 p.m. Thursday, reported the Associated Press. However, Walker ruled earlier Thursday morning to grant 4,000 Florida voters an extension until 5 p.m. Saturday to verify their mail-in and provisional ballots if they were rejected for signature mismatches. Palm Beach missed the Thursday afternoon deadline despite what its elections supervisor called a “heroic effort,” reported Treasure Coast Newspapers. U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan heard the case, which stems from a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit regarding the controversial employment status of longtime scumbag/liar-Clinton aide Huma Abedin, who was granted a "special government employee" designation to accept outside employment while she was working at the State Department. Judicial Watch sought to compel further answers from scumbag/liar-Clinton after her written testimony under oath in October 2016 regarding her  scumbag/liar-Clinton.com, non-state.gov email system. Contrary to Predictions, U.S. Nears Energy Independence

by Jordan Candler:  Prognosticators have long warned that the world is on the verge of oil depletion — i.e., we’ve reached “peak oil” — while at the same time Democrats have torpedoed the idea of U.S. energy independence. Fortunately, oil forecasts have been just as unimpressively inaccurate as climate change predictions. Energy innovation has stimulated this effect while also bringing America to the brink of genuine energy independence.

             According to Investor’s Business Daily, “The International Energy Agency forecasts that the U.S. will account for 75% of the growth in global oil production through 2025.” This growth is coming on the heels of already impressive gains. “Crude oil production in the U.S. has climbed more than 67% in just the past six years,” Investor’s reports, adding that “the Department of Energy expects it will climb an additional 11% next year.” Keep in mind that U.S. oil production is already second to none. Our current daily yield of 11 million barrels is higher than both Saudi Arabia and Russia.
               The chief catalyst? Fracking. Yet as Investor’s notes, “It was never supposed to happen.” Recall back in 2008 when scumbag/liar-nObama asserted, “If we opened up and drilled on every single square inch of our land and our shores, we would still find only 3% of the world’s oil reserves — 3% for a country that uses 25% of the world’s oil.” This claim — which was regurgitated in slightly different forms all through scumbag/liar-nObama’s tenure — was obviously fabricated. Investor’s says that true U.S. oil reserves are sixty fold higher than scumbag/liar-nObama’s estimate.
               “Not all of that was recoverable at current prices,” Investor’s acknowledges. “But ‘recoverable’ is a highly flexible term. It’s based on oil prices and the cost of getting it out of the ground. The fracking revolution dramatically redefined the term recoverable because it made vast oil supplies accessible that once were once economically off-limits. So why would  scumbag/liar-nObama mislead the country throughout his presidency? Because he was determined to force the country to dump billions of taxpayer subsidies on ‘renewable’ energy, and needed a reason to justify it.”
               The issue here is not that renewable energy as a primary resource isn’t an admirable goal; it’s that scumbag/liar-nObama’s idea of how to properly nurture it was terribly misplaced. And his lying about the facts as a means to an end only added insult to injury. The solar company Solyndra alone squandered half a billion taxpayer dollars. Not only has oil always been far more abundant than naysayers claim, but taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to prop up whatever industry a president decides should be cultivated using powerful government levers.
               Similar to how oil extraction evolved into fracking, the private sector will eventually find its game-changing renewable energy breakthrough. In the meantime, more oil production means more government revenue. Shouldn’t Democrats, who want to roll out a plethora of very expensive, government-paid-for initiatives, be for that?  ~The Patriot Post
