{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ After all the recent speculation that US President Donald Trump is seeking to end America's long-standing involvement in the Middle East... the violent demise of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has demonstrated that the White House remains resolute in pursuing its enemies. As Mr Trump said in the immediate aftermath of Baghdadi's death in northwestern Syria at the weekend, killing or capturing the ISIS terrorist, the man responsible for overseeing the barbaric reign of cruelty that manifested itself under his so-called caliphate, had been his administration's number one priority. It was to this end that Mr Trump personally authorised US special forces to undertake their daring mission against Baghdadi's hideout in Idlib province, close to the Turkish border, even though, in public, Mr Trump was insistent that he was intent on reducing America's involvement in what he has described as the "bloodstained sand" of the Middle East. Mr Trump's desire to reduce Washington's military commitments, which he is keen to achieve ahead of next year's presidential election contest, does not seem to apply -- for the moment, at least -- to ISIS. Following last weekend's successful mission against Baghdadi, the president has revitalised his interest in fighting Islamist terrorists. There have been more targeted attacks against ISIS targets since the Baghdadi mission, and the White House is organising a conference on tackling ISIS, to be held in Washington in mid-November. Mr Trump undoubtedly deserves enormous credit for the role he played in the success of the Baghdadi mission, both in terms of maintaining the focus on hunting down the ISIS terrorist, as well has having the political courage to authorise a mission that, had it failed, could have inflicted serious damage on his presidency. At the same time, Mr Trump's continual assertions that he wants to scale down America's involvement in the Middle East is causing serious consternation among Washington's long-standing Arab allies in the region, not least those directly involved in another of Mr Trump's foreign policy priorities -- namely preventing Iran's ayatollahs from acquiring nuclear weapons...

by 100percentfedup.com ~ scumbag-Adam Schiff tried the usual lie this morning while on ABC with Martha Raddatz, but she wasn’t having it... scumbag-Schiff tried to say that the Durham investigation is “tainted” because of political motivation: “This is tainted because of the motivation, which is a political one, to serve the president’s political interests.” Raddatz pushed back on the statement by scumbag-Schiff: “You have no evidence of that yet whatsoever.” It’s was a shocker to have any pushback against scumbag-Schiff. Even President Trump noticed the fair coverage on This Week with Terry Moran and Raddatz and tweeted out a thank you to them. Moran and Raddatz also reported on the ISIS raid during the show and gave the president kudos on his accomplishment. Fair coverage should be a norm, but President Trump knows that’s a rarity with our media, so he let these two ABC anchors know he appreciates it. scumbag-Schiff responded with a ridiculous answer that because President Trump wants investigations into the intl leaders, and now Barr is doing that right now, there is some political motivation:“The president has been calling for the Justice Department to investigate scumbag-Comey, to investigate scumbag-Clapper, to investigate anyone who stood in his way and now what is Bill Barr doing? He’s doing an investigation of a criminal investigation of some of the people responsible for this probe so you can, I think, connect one dot to another.”

But like most illusionists, scumbag-Schiff employs misdirection and confusion. He attempts to convince you that opinions are evidence, while facts are not. This is the stuff of rank political magic where perceptions are distorted through clever manipulation of the process. scumbag-Schiff has become the master manipulator aided, in large part, by the secrecy of his faux magic act. He won’t allow you to peek behind the curtain to see for yourself the witnesses he has called in his “super top secret” impeachment inquisition. You are never permitted to view transcripts of depositions or examine testimony that purports to incriminate the president. That, of course, would ruin all the hocus-pocus. Republicans have spent weeks trying to pierce the veil of secrecy. They have now partially succeeded by pressuring House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., into a resolution for a full House vote on the heretofore partisan and unjust proceedings that are bereft of due process. At the very least, this new action will establish some fundamental rules of fairness and transparency that are the bane of pretend-illusionists like scumbag-Schiff. Americans will finally get to see how the House Intelligence Committee chairman rigged his inquisition with hearsay witnesses and others who had nothing meaningful to offer except their own personal interpretations of a July 25 conversation between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The best evidence of what transpired is, in fact, the only pertinent evidence. Everything else is secondary and immaterial. The transcript of the telephone call and the statements of the two participants, Trump and Zelensky, are the only relevant evidence. The call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is the subject of the Democrats' impeachment inquiry. An anonymous whistleblower has charged -- based on second-hand knowledge -- that Trump used the threat of withholding U.S. aid to pressure Ukraine to cooperate in the investigation of the origins of the Trump-Russia collusion probe and to "look into" Hunter Biden's profiting from a Ukrainian firm while his father was President scumbag/liar-nObama's point man for Ukraine policy. But unlike the whistleblower, former NSC Senior Director for European Affairs Tim Collins listened to the call. "I want to be clear, I was not concerned that anything illegal was discussed," said Morrison, according to a record of his remarks obtained by The Federalist. In a partisan vote, 232-196, the Democratic-majority House approved a resolution Thursday morning formalizing its impeachment investigation of President Trump. No Republicans voted for the measure, which sets the "ground rules" for proceedings that already have been underway for more than a month. Two Democrats in districts won by President Trump in 2016 were against it, Reps. Jeff Van Drew, D-N.J., and Collin Peterson, D-Minn.Morrison said Ukrainian officials were unaware that certain military funding had been delayed until Aug. 28, more than a month after the phone call. Bizarrely, scumbag/liar-Clinton became fond of accusing Trump of being in the pocket of Russian dictator President Vladimir Putin. At the time, pundits and political observers were highly confused. There had been no evidence of such manipulation, and the American people hadn’t really even thought about Russia at all during the run-up to the election. Suddenly, the floodgates were open, and Donald Trump was being rebranded by “the resistance” as some sort of Kremlin stooge…but still, no one really knew where that story came from. Today, the best guess is that the scumbag/liar-nObama administration was secretly spying on the 2016 Trump campaign in order to damage his chances against scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton. Now-President Trump has tasked his DOJ with investigating just such a possibility, and the move has former White House officials under No. 44 sweating. A number of former high-level scumbagt/liar-nObama administration officials could fall into the investigative crosshairs of U.S. Attorney swcumbag/commie-John Durham’s team as his probe into the handling of the Russia investigation rises to the level of a criminal inquiry. The elevation in status means the U.S. attorney for Connecticut will be able to subpoena witnesses, file charges and impanel grand juries. “You do not impanel a grand jury at this point unless you are going to indict,” a source familiar with the investigation told Fox News. “Durham is at a point where he knows he has crimes and now the question is how many people were involved and they have a pretty good idea of that group of people and what the charges can be and whether or not they can get some cooperators.” The development has prompted allegations from Democrats that the Department of Justice is being politicized. Attorney General Bill Barr, however, rejected those claims and defended the Durham probe in an interview earlier this week with Fox News, while accusing the swcumbag-James Comey-era FBI brass of a “failure of leadership.”

Navy, Marines Moving Ahead

with Unmanned Vessel Programs

{ news.usni.org } ~ The Navy is gaining enough experience with unmanned vehicles on and below the water’s surface that it’s becoming easier to kick off new programs... as each can build on previous program’s lessons learned, service officials said last week. On larger unmanned surface vessels, the Navy and Pentagon’s Ghost Fleet Overlord program transitioned from Phase 1 to Phase 2 at the beginning of October, further building upon the base of knowledge that will inform two future programs of record, the Large Unmanned Surface Vehicle (LUSV) and Medium USV (MUSV). Howard Berkof, the deputy program manager for unmanned maritime systems within the Program Executive Office for Unmanned and Small Combatants (PEO USC), said Phase 1 wrapped up with the successful demonstration of two vessels that had been outfitted with autonomy systems for unmanned operations. “We’ve completed over 600 hours of autonomous testing, we’ve demonstrated autonomy, we’ve demonstrated navigation, and we’ve launched into the Phase 2 with our two vendors now,” Berkof said last week at the National Defense Industrial Association’s annual Expeditionary Warfare Conference. After his speech, he told USNI News that “Phase 2, we integrate a government command, control, communications, computers and intelligence system into the vessel, we do more complex autonomy, more complex navigation, and we start also some payload work. And then so we get through Phase 2, and then we will have a number of demonstrations out there where we really ramp up the capability on that front.” Once the integration of a government C4I system onto a hull rigged to operate autonomously is complete, the only real remaining work will be to add in a vertical launching system to give the USV a strike capability. “For the Navy’s LUSV program, we envision integrating vertical launch into that vessel. … That’s really the biggest difference” between Ghost Fleet Overlord Phase 2 and LUSV, Berkof said. The Navy released a solicitation for conceptual design of the LUSV in early September, and proposals will be coming back within the next month or so, he said during his panel presentation. Even as the Navy is bringing this research project into a program of record, the Marine Corps is eyeing starting its own USV acquisition effort. Earlier in the conference, Lt. Gen. Let me begin today’s report by expressing a sentiment you did not hear from any Democrat this weekend: “Thank you, Mr. President!”

Late Saturday night, the president tweeted, “Something very big has just happened.” Many were on the edge of our seats here in Washington. Then reports began breaking that 100 courageous U.S. special forces took down Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS. The operation was named after murdered American aide worker Kayla Mueller. (More on that below.)

For several months now, while progressives and socialists in Congress have been plotting to take down the duly elected president, the president of the United States was planning his operation to take down the vicious serial rapist and murderer who led the Islamic State in recent years. What a contrast in competing priorities!

But, of course, no Trump victory can be applauded or allowed to stand without attempts to sabotage it. Several times over the past 24 hours, the left showed how deep its sickness goes. Here are some examples.

Trump Didn’t Notify Us

There were complaints by some on the left that Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi, Senate Democrat Leader Chuck scumbag-Schumer, and House Intelligence Committee Chairman scumbag-Adam Schiff were not notified in advance of the operation. There has never been any obligation for the president to tell congressional leaders about sensitive military operations before they take place. This is a completely made-up assertion.

Newt Gingrich blasted liar-Pelosi’s whining, saying:

I was speaker of the House just like liar-Nancy Pelosi… The idea that politicians need to be briefed on a military operation while young men and women are risking their lives is just stupid. liar-Nancy Pelosi ought to know better… No politician has a right to know information that could get young men and women killed during the operational phase.

Trump’s Rhetoric Was Wrong

Several critics complained that Trump’s description of the raid was inappropriate. scumbag/liar-nObama’s deputy CIA director, Michael Morrell, said, “You don’t want a locker room kind of feel to this. That was the one thing we worked really hard on after the bin Laden raid — don’t make those kinds of statements, because it does inspire other people.”

Morrell is wrong. Numerous experts have noted that among his jihadi followers, a legend was emerging that Baghdadi was “immortal.” No matter how many times we thought we had him, he always managed to escape and survive. His image was larger than life.

The president was right to expose Baghdadi as a coward, who died running from dogs and crying in a tunnel. He was right to tell the world that this man was so evil that he murdered three of his own children in the process.

Trump Didn’t Respect Islam

As misguided as Morrell’s remarks were, I was infuriated by retired Admiral James Winnefeld, who said:

This fight is all about religious freedom. It’s about respect for other religions, and if you look back to the bin Laden raid … we treated his body with respect that is due under Islam and this was a little bit tough.

This is the mindset that prevailed for eight years under Barack scumbag/liar-nObama. We were constantly told that people like Osama bin laden and Baghdadi do not represent Islam. “They are not representatives of the religion of peace,” progressives insist. “The terrorists are trying to hijack the religion of peace.”

Well, you can’t have it both ways. If they are not really Muslims, then we are under no obligation to give them Islamic burials.

But this is the bizarre mindset of the left, where too many elites are more interested in appeasing CAIR and the editorial pages of The New York Times and The Washington Post than they are in ensuring America’s victory in the existential crisis presented by these barbarians.

Payback for Mueller

To the progressives worried about how Baghdadi’s body was treated, where were they when Kayla Mueller, a 26 year-old Christian aide worker, was kidnapped in Aleppo, Syria, and repeatedly raped and abused by Baghdadi and his men? Her body apparently didn’t matter. By the way, through it all, Kayla refused to convert to Islam as her captors demanded.

Kayla’s parents thanked President Trump for his resolve. Her mother, Marsha, suggested that if scumbag/liar-nObama “had been as decisive as Trump” Kayla might be alive today.

“A Scholar Dies”

If you needed another example of the left’s bizarre mindset, you got it with this Washington Post headline: “Austere Religious Scholar At Helm Of Islamic State Dies At 48.”

Really? Well, if Baghdadi was a religious scholar, then I suppose he did represent Islam when he was cutting off the heads of infidels, raping infidel women, and setting infidels on fire.

Needless to say, the social-media backlash against the Post’s nonsense was brutal. Some suggested it would be like referring to Adolf Hitler as “a local painter” or “renowned orator.” It would be laughable if it wasn’t so disturbing.

Baghdadi didn’t die at 48. He was taken out by the U.S. military for his war crimes. I suppose we should be thankful that the Post headline didn’t read: “Renowned Religious Scholar And Dedicated Father Dies During Home Invasion.”

Whoever wrote the Washington Post headline is either an Islamist sympathizer or someone who so hates America that they should have no place anywhere near the operation of the newspaper of the nation’s capital.

In other low points for the press, NBC on Sunday attacked Trump for taking a “victory lap.” Of course, NBC is only interested in political leaders doing apology tours for America. CNN also cut short its coverage of the president’s press conference. This from the network that complains Trump doesn’t do enough press conferences!

scumbag-Clapper’s Claptrap

scumbag/liar-nObama’s Director of National Intelligence scumbag-James Clapper warned that the murder of Baghdadi could “galvanize ISIS.” I can see why scumbag-Clapper’s concerned.

If ISIS is galvanized, it might start committing genocide against Middle East Christians. It might start raping infidel women. It might start blowing up mosques, churches, synagogues, and historical monuments.

Oh, wait. That’s what they already do.

What on Earth is scumbag-Clapper talking about?!

Bad Timing Award

The progressives at “Saturday Night Live” were getting cheers from their progressive audience for mocking Donald Trump by suggesting that he is soft on ISIS. Unbeknownst to them, the pathetic skit ran about the same time that U.S. special forces were getting orders from Trump to take out Baghdadi. Whoops! ~The Patriot Post
