An under-staffed New Orleans Police Department and other agencies state wide means we citizens must step up to better defend our families under the law.
The best way under the law is fixing Louisiana Statute 1420, which we in the Home Defense Foundation call the " Home and Business Defense Law " given its language about using force to protect oneself at home; your place of business or during a car jacking.
We can't get more cops on the streets right now, but we can amend a law to allow us more protection as home and business owners against violent criminals facing far less opposition on the streets!
Currently, one faces little or no risk of prosecution should you kill a suspect while defending yourself.
Conversely, if the suspect survives, you, the would-be victim, could face politically motivated consequences in this post-Zimmerman era.
Are you willing to risk your life and that of your family with state staute 1420 as it presently reads?
Good people like you don't want to hurt others. You want to live peacefully- that's all.
